I'll be there. I didn't have any Mousefest meet on the schedule for Sunday. Of course I had already scheduled the Sunrise Safari and Afternoon tea, so now I have something for the evening.

In first hearing about it I wasnt sure if I would be able to fit it in, but after hearing its for Bob, I will find a way...even if it means Im way overdressed. ;)

We have dinner reservations at Citricos for 5:45pm so I'm not thinking we will make it in time.

D'oh! We bought MVMCP tickets for that night, and unfortunately we don't have theme park admission for that day so we can't hop over to Epcot first. MVMCP tickets can't be transferred to another day right- I think I understand you have to use them on a specific date?

I wish we could be there! We are definitely going to have a dole whip for Bob though and we are looking forward to it :cloud9:

I wish I didn't plan my trip around trying to miss the crowds and avoiding Pop Warner. So many cool events are happening right after I leave!! :(:( I guess I'll be there in spirit...christmas spririt! :D

I wrote Steve Soares to check on the Tree Lighting Ceremony. This was his response.

Thanks for the question, you jogged my memory! I checked with guest relations and they said there will be no tree lighting ceremony but the tree and lights of winter will be turned on at 6pm starting Friday. They said the change was due to safety concerns. It got pretty jammed around the tree in previous years.

I'll update my site to reflect this information.

This is unfortunate.

The good news is our Mousefest Meet on the 14th is really about getting together in honor of Bob - the tree lighting was just a way to determine where we would meet and when and to pick a location we knew Bob loved at Christmastime.

It stinks that this was cut back and some folks will never get a chance to experience it - but it has no effect on the meet on the 14th.

Good! I am glad that you guys are still going to gather in Bob's honor. That was my biggest concern was that this cancellation would mess up the meet.

I wish that I could be there, but we have MVMCP tickets and 6 other family members coming to join us that night, so I can't get out of it.

Unfortunately we can not make it, we will be there this weekend.

However, it is one of my missions to bring "Flat Bawb" to the tree and the archway this weekend. My little homage to Mr. Varley. Epcot is my favorite place at Christmas time and there is just something special that happens when you reach that archway with all the lights. Sorry we'll miss meeting everyone but I will try to do my part to honor Bob at one of his favorite places.

FYI... The date is December 14th.

In case anyone is interested, dusk for Dec 14th is 5:54 PM (gotta love Florida for late sunsets in the winter!).

Katscradle is my DW and she was referring to the fact that we arrive in WDW on the 11th.
