Can someone explain how this works to an overwhelmed newbie? :)

We are planning to do the Disney Dining Plan for our Aug '09 trip. We'll be doing at least two character meals and probably at least two other ADR meals. Will we have to prepay for these when we make our ressies? If so, how does that work with swapping credits from the DDP?

Thanks!

If youre on the DDP you dont prepay for anything. Cinderellas Royal Table you need a credit card to guarantee it and they charge you if you dont show up

Thanks! We're renting DVC points and have arranged the DDP though them, so since we won't actually be paying for the DDP until arrivial, I wasn't sure how all that works. CC for booking makes sense.

I sure hope my vacation is longer than the amount of time I'm investing in researching and planning it. ;)

You can make ADR's for most restaurants without having to give a cc for a guarantee. There are a handful that require a cc to either hold the reservation or charge you for it ahead of time. CRT will charge your credit card ahead of time - if you add the DDP later, they will credit your card back.
