if i get in for Fall 08, i already know what the plan of action will be for getting down there haha. I am leasing a car right now, therefore, i wouldnt be able to drive it down from Scranton to FL because of the mileage im allowed each year. Therefore, i would be flying down alone, without a car, the day before and staying at a hotel nearby, and most likely not bringing anything i could buy when i get down there.

im not afraid of not knowing where to go, i know the orlando airport really well, and the area really well, so thats not a problem.

my question is, if you have done this in the past, does it work out well?
were you able to find time to get to walmart and get a bed set, etc. and sleep well the first night? or would i want to atleast get that the day before move in?

just wondering if it would work out as well as ive played it out in my head hahaa.

When I was in the CP in 2006, I flew down on my start date. It only took 2 hours for me to get to Orlando and they have a service that can pick you up from the airport and take you directly to Vista Way, which was where they did all the signing in at the time (not sure if they still do this the same way). The buses can take you back and forth to Wal-Mart but the sign-in day can be a little busy with all the things you have to register for. My advice is to get there when registration begins that way you can have the remainder of the day to do errands and get things that you need. Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention that I did have time to go to Wal-Mart on my first day and get a few things that I needed (food, pillow, etc). I brought my own sheets with me, just forgot to bring a pillow. But I did get there relatively early that day. I recommend getting there when registration begins. :wizard:

Walamrt has something called "Site-to-store" where you can order things online ahead of time and have them shipped to whatever store you'd like. I'd suggest this because there will be so many CP's buying the same things at the same time. Doing this will guarantee that you'll have what you need when you get there!!

Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #5420 is the closest store to the housing complexes and the one the buses will take you too if you don't have a car
