How long after you joined did it take you to get "home"?

I just replied on another thread that it is going to take us two years before we go "home".
We signed Nov 2001, cruising Nov 2002. But we arent going "home" to VWL for the first time until Oct 2003.

We bought in July 94 and went home Dec 94.

We closed in January 2001 on points at VWL. Our first trip "home" was to BWV in August 2001. Our first stay at the VWL was April 2002. There was also a stay at OKW 1/02 before we got to our home base.

We bought in August of 1995, and in December were in a 2-br at the OKW with my mom and aunt (both who had never flown before) for a long weekend. It was a wonderful first visit "home!"

Back then, we had the "free" park passes and they gave an incentive of two free OKW nights (or a 3 day cruise!) if you paid cash rather than financed. The weekend was point free - too hard to resist!

We closed on our resale at OKW the end of March. We will be staying in a studio at BCV 7/31 for 3 nights and then at OKW 2 bedroom for Thanksgiving for a week. :)

We bought in Oct of '97. It took us 2 years before we could "Go Home". I got layoff 5 months after we purchased. It was all we could do just to keep up with the payments. We did use an exchange with in easy driving distance and eat nearly all our meals in house the first year. Banked the second year, no vacation time. Had a big vacation after that. Now how can anyone take a vacation during the year they were layoff. If it weren't DVC we could never have afforded a vacation. I love my DVC.

We bought on our honeymoon in 2000. Closed on the last day of our trip and we arranged with our guide to stay two more days at our home resort, BWV! Great guide and lucky I guess.

we bought our points at VWL in June 2001, first trip 'home' was to BWV in January 2002, but our first trip to our actual home won't be until October 2002... Halloween and Mickey's NSSHP! Yay!!! DS (will be 28 mos) should LOVE it! :D

I purchased VWL 10/01 and BCV 03/02. We are going to HH this June and are debating to go on the cruise this fall on BCV in October. I don't think I will be at VWL until 2004.

2 weeks!! We had ressies for OKW Nov 4-11, 2000 when we purchased BWV Oct 20, 2000. They worked it out so I could use points instead of cash, so I applied the cash from the ressie which was paid in full to the downpayment. It took a nice chunk off of the purchase price :)

It has taken us 3 years!! We bought in August 1999, found out I was pregnant in Oct. 1999 and are going "home" with our now 21 month old DS for the first time this August. 105 days and counting!:D

We stayed at OKW - on points - the night before we signed the paperwork :)

We bought back in May 1992, and NH was not registered to sell DVC yet. We had it all planned -- DW would fly down from NH, I would join her from a business trip, and we would sign the paperwork that afternoon, and spend Memorial Day weekend at OKW.

But it didn't quite work out that way :( . My flight was cancelled, and I didn't get to OKW until after 8 that night. DW and our guide had everything under control though. DW did all of her signing before I got there, and our guide arranged for us to stay as planned that night. I signed the next morning.

After having the worst sort of day, it was really a touch of DVC Magic that everything worked out :)

BTW, we'll be back at OKW on our 10th DVC Anniversary in a few weeks :D

We bought in August 2000. DW and DSD went home in Feburary 2001 for two nights, but I did not make it home until December 2001.

We joined October of 98 by buying BWV sight unseen with an April use year. We booked immediately for Feb of 99, and haven't missed a year at BWV since.

We bought at BWV in June 2000, cruised in Oct. 2000 bought an add on at VB while on the cruise, will cruise again this Oct. So will go home (to BWV) hopefully Oct. 2003 and who knows about Vero. Bought sight unseen for both so am a little anxious to see them - never been to Boardwalk at all so.......

We bought in early 99.....but we were at OKW in 96 and 97 because my sister was a DVC member. We had the GV each time for the family:D . After that, as Rich would say, the decision was made to buy at OKW!!!!!:D

We bought at the BWV in August 2000, and we are just making our first trip home this July! We have used points at HH and through the Disney collection, but this will be our first actual trip to the BWV! I can't wait!

We bought at the VWL after staying there for cash on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Stayed there for points on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. February 2001.

I bought BCV in 3/02. I'll be visiting BCV in July and September but my first stay there isn't until November 7. I stayed at BWV April 21-25 on rented points, and it felt like home.

We purchased in Dec of 2000. We banked our 2001 points and just got back from our first time home. We stayed at BWV for 5 nights and then went on a 4 night cruise.

Bought over the phone in September 1999 (Boardwalk) after a March 1999 stay at OKW with friends. Stayed at OKW in May 2000 and Boardwalk in December 2000. Same in 2001 & 2002, 5 DVC trips so far!
