My step-mom and I took my DD, and niece and nephew on Saturday night. Little did I know I was paying. I guess I took everyone to the movie. But, I thought it was really good. My DD7 was so sad when it was over. She actually cried during the movie and didn't move the entire show. She was sad at the end, because this is the end.
While I know that to the podcast crew this is a cheesy movie, my kids have thoroughly loved High School Musical. I think that they had the right idea in taking this one to the theaters, because it allowed them to do bigger things. I'm sure it is one we will own when it comes out on DVD.

We've seen it twice already. I took my 2 Girl Scout troops to see it opening weekend (23 of us) and then DH got free tickets to see it again.
I liked the first best, and second second, and this 3rd, but my kids were horrified by that. As I told them, one had to be the least fav, didn't mean I didn't like it, it just wasn't my favorite. It was good though. They are working on 4 starting next month.
My DD9 and DD6 love the movies very much, and I think they are cute too. I'm not so sure about 4 though, the new "Troy" isn't cutting it for me. We'll see.
But yes, they are anxious for the DVD, they know I won't be paying to see it again and they'd like to watch it anotehr 100 times or so!!!

I thought it was very well done. Leave it to Disney to create a series of movies that appeal to teens and keep it clean.
I have always given HSM a big thumbs up! (All three of them)
The kids in the theater really liked it when we went. I have to say on the same note that WallE also received the same response from the kids when we saw it in the theater. They loved it!

I had a movie birthday party for both my dd's the day after it came out - it was a big hit! I thought it was the best of all three movies - I really enjoyed it and bought the soundtrack a few days ago.

I managed to drag DH along with me to see it :goodvibes - we don't have kids yet. And even he enjoyed it :cool1: (I think the brainwashing must have worked :rotfl: )
I thought it was generally really sad - it was nice when they had the more up-beat moments and when the British lass picked on Sharpay ;) But quite teary :sad1: I don't know if the new cast will have quite the same impact - a lot to live up to.
Can't wait for the DVD :woohoo:

I thought it was a little sadder, too. I am very impressed with how Disney kept the movie clean. Let's face it, those two have been dating for over a year (in movie life), and they're barely kissing. Hardly realistic. But, I'm thrilled that that is how Disney handled it. They've got quite the fan base. I like watching it with my kids because there are no weird moments of me being uncomfortable because it's something my kids shouldn't be watching.

We loved it. My DD and I went with my SIL and nephew. I was singing the songs all weekend. And is it wrong that my SIL and I could not stop staring at Zac Efron's arms. LOL

Since I am on vacation this week, DW, DD and I have tix for the 1:20pm show today. We have both previous HSM movies on DVD, so I'm sure we will be getting this one as well when it comes out.

What is more wrong is that I am old enough to be Zac Efron's mother. :scared: When did that happen?!?!?! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 It certainly put a damper on the enjoyment of watching his arms. :lmao:

We can always hand out a few more "cougar" titles, of course.

:rotfl2: I'm only a Cougar until I realize that I could've birthed them - that just gives me the heebie jeebies. (And I'm not even that old. :confused3 ) Give me another 20 years and I am sure I will feel differently though. ;) :rolleyes1

We saw it the day it came out, first showing at the theater.
My 9 year old daughter loved it. I told her that it is now my favorite of all three, and yes I cried during it and at the end (I know I'm just too emotional-maybe because my son is a senior and will be graduating in June)
I will definitely be buying it as soon as it comes out!!!

This is what I posted on The DIS DAD'S CLUB thread a little while ago:
DW, DD and I went and saw HSM 3 this afternoon, we all enjoyed it. The romantic part of me got misty-eyed in a few parts of the movie. I also saw our DD wiping her eyes a few times as well. With her being a recent high school graduate, I think some parts of the movie got to her more than she thought they would.

My DD and I saw it the weekend it came out. I really enjoyed it (even at my age!) and have the soundtrack. I'm not ashamed to admit that I had tears during the scene when the graduates were on on the stage saying what they were going to do next in life.

my kids wouldn't go with me! We've got two boys 16 & 13 and they were almost beside themselves that I was going to go in alone and watch it!
I loved the singing and the dancing. The choreography is the best. What a talented director!

DW and I went to seen HSM3 at Pleasure Island 24 yesterday. We decided to wait until we returned to Florida (we were in Chicago last week) because we wanted to see it at the AMC theater at Disney since it was playing in one of their digital theaters.
Great movie (and we don't have kids). Disney knows how to make great clean movies. I believe many people who say that they wouldn't be caught dead watching HSM3 need to give it a chance.
Are you ready for this? We are going to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua Wednesday (also at AMC PI 24). Gee, did I really say that out loud?

I just found this thread and decided to throw in my 2 cents.
I saw both movies. I think the movie was a little too "kissy" for my 8 year old, but otherwise great. I would love to see all three back to back! That dance scene in the junk yard was one of my favorite parts of the movie. OTOH, Beverly Hills Chihuahua was very funny. It didn't get great reviews, but I thought it was a great film, especially for kids!!! I would see both again.

I saw it on October 26th and I liked it, but (and this is going to sound weird) it was TOO MUSICAL. I just felt like they had to break out in song over everything. I was waiting for one of them to start singing about tieing his/her shoe. :lmao:
OTOH, I really liked how Ryan came out from behind Sharpay's shadow and did what was best for himself and for everyone involved in the musical. I didn't care for the "freshman" that they were trying to introduce. I hope they don't try to continue this on with new characters. HSM will always be, Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, Lucas, Monique and Corbin.
