After living close to half my life without ever experiencing the World, I visited for the first time in March/April with my family. Before leaving, we had to book a bounceback trip for September! Knowing the next trip was coming was enough to ease the "downer" of coming home to reality. That's when I started lurking here. Now, however, the second trip is long gone, and we're not planning to go back until December of '09. I didn't think just lurking would get me through the serious Disney withdrawal; I figured I'd better register so that I can commiserate with and congratulate those who are like minded. So hey there, hi there, ho there, and I look forward to chatting with you about my favorite place soon!

Welcome from a fellow Harry Potter Fan!!! You know there is a slight chance that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be open at Universal by your next trip. I can't wait for it to open.

Don't I know how you feel. http://www.sheknows.com/graphics/emoticons/waiting.gif

My mother used to take us every year when we were kids (boy did I not understand the signifigance. I just took it for granted). Then, I got into my teenage years and had better things to do than Disney. I know, I know the blasphemy, right?

Then, DH and I were married for about 3 years when we decided we'd go to Disney for our anniversary. DH had never been and it had been a LONG time for me. Needless to say we were both bit by the Disney bug very HARD!!

I think it was shortly after that I found these boards. And I'll be honest with you, it's not always easy reading about other peoples' trips. You want to be happy for them, and I guess you are, but it's hard knowing that someone else and NOT you is going to be watching the 3 o'clock parade and eating a Dole Whip.

We returned to Disney a year and a half later and came home with a DVC membership.
We went every year, sometimes twice a year (one time three times in one year) until now.

It's been almost 2 years since we've been!! Life happened and we just haven't been able to make it back down. It's HARD!! Especially knowing that I have a room just waiting for me but it's all the other stuff that hinders us from going like gas, food, PARK TICKETS  . . . .

Sometimes I say to DH, let's just go down and stay at one of the DVC resorts and not do the parks but he knows we wouldn't be able to do it. If we're there, we're in the parks.

Anyway, just wanted to say Welcome and know you're not alone!

:welcome: to the DIS boards!!!

Come hang out with your fellow Disney fans on the Theme Parks community board, which is a sub-forum of the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies forum. There are lots of fun games to play that test your Disney knowledge. Spending time on that board helped me to get through WDW withdrawal! :)

Welcome to the DIS! There's many online stations on Live365 that play Disney park music, so that you can feel like your in Disneyworld again. There's other stations like that one too:

Thanks everyone! I am so excited about HP at Universal. I've never really thought about Universal much since my kids aren't really into the supercoasters, but I'll have to visit once Harry is there. I'm also looking forward to checking out those music links. The Soarin' and Illuminations music in particular take me back to sunny Florida! Of course, it was sunny and 78 here today, but alas, there was no Mickey...
