Well, this will be my first trip report as well as my first trip in almost 10 years. My DH and I will be taking our two beautiful daughters who will be 14 months and 5 years and my mom. I am an obsessive planner, and I already have my notebooks and spreadsheets going. I am stil waiting for the EMHs to come out for October before setting our schedule. We will be going October 20-27 and we'll be attending MNSSHP for the very first time.

My husband and my girls have never been to Disney before, and the last time my mom was there was when I was 8. She does a lot for us, so we're treating her to this trip. It will be her first real vacation in about 20 years.

We're also going to be on the Deluxe Dining Plan. I decided it would just be nicer to not have to worry about the cost or anything while we're there. This way we can order what we want and try some signature restaurants without stressing about the cost. We're also planning several character meals.

Any tips are welcome!

A little background info:

Nana~My mom.....finally getting into the thought of going. She took me when I was 8, and it was really the only real vacation we ever went on. She says she's going to ride all the rides, but I'll believe it when I see it. She is a purists and feels the real Disney spirit is with Mickey and Minnie. She greatly indulges DD #1 in her princess love and contributes to the massive amount of Princess merchandise in our home.

DH~A Disney newbie. At first he didn't understand my love for Disney, but since he's seem some of the books and the planning dvd, as well as some specials on the travel channel, he's gotten more excited. He is a big kid at heart, and while he loves cartoon, he was more into Saturday morning cartoons (smurfs, alvin and the chipmunks, scooby doo) and not Disney. He has, however, become very knowledgeable on all of the princesses since DD is obsessed.

DD #1~Will be 5 when we go and will be in kindergarten. Yes, we are taking her out of school to go. I am a teacher, and I will make sure she keeps up. She is already starting to read, so she's pretty advanced for her class. She is a princess: to the max! She and I will both be going to the Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique, hopefully before the Halloween party. She has been Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle (in that order) for past Halloweens. She says she wants to be Hannah Montana this year, but I'm trying to change her mind.

DD #2~Will be 14 months old when we take our trip. She is a mover and a shaker and has never been still, even in the womb. We're hoping that she'll have some teeth by then (she's almost 8 months now and shows no signs). Luckily, she does enjoy riding in the stroller, and that is where she'll probably spend most of her time. She too is engaged with princesses, mostly because she shares a room with DD #1.

The Planner~That me! I'm 28 and have been to Disney twice before. The last time was in 1999, and I know a whole lot has changed since then. I can't wait to share the magic with my girls and DH. I am basically making all of the decisions on the trip, and have been told multiple times that I should be a travel agent. I tend to get obsessed with whereever I'm going (not just Disney). I especially enjoy the dining reviews, and I'm hoping to do one of those too.

These are the restaurants we are looking at so far.......I haven't made ADRs yet because my 180 days is April 23.

Crystal Palace, Dinner
Cinderella's Royal Table, Breakfast
Ohana, Breakfast
Tusker House, Breakfast
Hollywood & Vine, Breakfast
Akershus, Breakfast
Chef Mickey's, Dinner
Cape May Cafe, Breakfast
1900 Park Fare, Dinner
Coral Reef, Dinner
Yak and Yeti, Lunch or Dinner
Sci-Fi Dine In, Lunch
Brown Derby, Dinner
Tony's, Dinner before MNSSHP
California Grill, Dinner

Dh would like to go to Fulton's, but they aren't on the dining plan, so we might just go for drinks or something. What do you all think?

She greatly indulges DD #1 in her princess love and contributes to the massive amount of Princess merchandise in our home. We have an incredible amount of Disney Princess stuff at our house. When I was pregnant with my son (our second child) we moved our dughter out of the nursery into her "big girl" room. It was beautiful, chair rails, pink wallpaper and some EXPENSIVE furniture. About a year later, we were walking through Walmart and they had a "bedroom in a box" with princess stuff. It cost about $80. My daughter said, "I would sleep in my own room if you got me that."

At first he didn't understand my love for Disney Gasp! I hope you schooled him on the finer points.

He has, however, become very knowledgeable on all of the princesses since DD is obsessed. Men and their daughters. I love to see him husband holding baby dolls.

She has been Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle (in that order) for past Halloweens. She says she wants to be Hannah Montana this year, but I'm trying to change her mind.
Sounds like my family. I bought my daughter a great Dorothy costume for MNSSHP. I thought it would be perfect for Florida. It was lightweight and short-sleeved. But she pitched a fit. She wants to be Wonder Woman.

We're hoping that she'll have some teeth by then (she's almost 8 months now and shows no signs).
Awww. My daughter is 6 1/2. She lost her first tooth on Easter Sunday. The next day, my sister noticed that her new daughter had a tooth. I told my daughter that the tooth-fairy took her old tooth and gave it to her cousin. My daughter lost her second tooth today. Maybe your daughter will get it tomorrow.

I am basically making all of the decisions on the trip,

I make most of the decisions in our life!!!:rotfl:

I can't wait to read more.

We have an incredible amount of Disney Princess stuff at our house.
Us too......DD #1 got her princess bedroom for Christmas two years ago, and DD #2 is sharing her room. The crib set was Pooh, but we just happened to find a princess crib set at Walmart, so now they match!
Gasp! I hope you schooled him on the finer points.
I've been working on it. He's definitely getting better about it now. He's actually listing when I read stuff in the books and is looking at the dining reports with me.
Men and their daughters. I love to see him husband holding baby dolls.
It is very cute to watch them. He's still learning how to play the barbies:laughing: . DD #2 is very much a daddy's girl though, and he's loving it.

My daughter could use some teeth. All of my friends with babies her age are picking on her because she is the only one without any teeth yet. She isn't crawling yet either, and her sister was walking at 9 months! She gets so mad because she wants so badly to get to things and she just can't.

Thanks for reading!

Scott~Yep, I'm using you  . I hope we get all the ADRs too. The only one I'm really worried about is CRT, but I know DD #1 would just love it. I think we're going to book at the BBB at the castle too, just in case we can't get breakfast there. Unfortunately, DH and I aren't very adventurous eaters, so the lunch and dinner menu just don't appeal to us.

good luck with CRT but I am pretty sure that time of the year u should get it.
I took the girls to BBB in January and Tiny loved it, the older one was ok with it. I did it the day of P&PP and it worked out great.
Hope u get them all.

Scott~Thanks. I hope we do get them all. I'm pretty sure DD will love the BBB. She did a Hannah Montana makeover at Libby Lu over spring break and thought it was the greatest thing ever! I'm getting the top package so that she can pick out her princess outfit for Halloween this year too. I'm going to make myself an appointment too :) . Too bad DD #2 will be too young and doesn't really have much hair.

I bought a Cinderella dress off of Disney shopping for $30 and with the package ($45) it is about half of what the most expensive package there is. U may want to consider that.

Hi Girldreamer02. It's nice to have you all here. Today I sent my mom (the nana) home with a tentative itinerary and a guide book so that she could start making notes of the things she wants to be sure to see. I don't want to miss anything that some thinks is important. Of course, the 5 year old may have different ideas about that than the rest of us :) . My mom, who has never been into thrill rides, swears that she's going to do it all this trip, so I have a feeling we'll be using babyswap A LOT! I've never done it or fastpasses before, so that could be interesting.

I looked at the Mickey PDAs because they have a fastpass tracker and a trip report thing, but I read on here that they're kind of crappy :confused3 . I plan on making myself a trip journal to track everything as well, and I'm pretty much a picture FREAK, so this trip report should have lots of illustrations. I spend my little girl's nap times here and on a mommy message board, so I should be able to keep up (I hope).

I had professors beg me to be an English major in college (I ended up with a social work degree and most of an elementary education degree), so hopefully my writing won't be too awful  .

Hello and thanks for the welcome. I can't wait to hear more. And there are two little darling girls that are involoved so all the better! I love little kids, but I just don't want any for at least 2-5 yrs. I'll be married in 92 short days (july 19th) and I am only 24 so I think that is a reasonable time frame. I digress though b/c this is all about you. Your places to eat all sound good. I can vouch for the CRT breakfast because I did it when df and I went to disney for christmas this yr. It was great fun! I am a big kid. Hehe. Crystal place is also fun and a good time and so was 1900 park faire. All good character meals in my opinion. There are some pics from them on my trip report if you just want to scroll for those in my report its in my siggy. Can't wait to hear more! Oh yea, I think its so cute that your taking Nana too. I heart grandma's they are so stinkin cute! :goodvibes

Hi Angela! Thanks Scott....I'll do my best to deserve the following :) .

Girldreamer~I was 22 when my first daughter was born. It was about 7 months after I graduated from college. I am pretty much a big kid too, and Winnie the Pooh is my favorite......hence the Crystal Palace. Dh loves Donald and Goofy, so that has figured into some of the characters meals that I'm planning as well. I'm glad you introduced youself. I've made lots of friends on this and my other message board, and I'd get bored if I just had to talk about myself all the time :rotfl: .

Nana is actually my mom. Our girls are very lucky in that they have several grandparents as well as great grandparents all still around, so we've had to come up with different names for everyone. My grandparents are grandma & grandpa to my girls, my mom is nana, and my husbands parents are grandma & grandpa on the farm. They also have grandma Lilly who is a great grandma and grandma Faith who is a great grandma.......see........it gets kind of confusing sometimes.

Girldreamer02
04-18-2008, 12:25 PM
That is a little confusing. We just used their last names when i was growing up. Now I just have my moms parents and my dads mom. I also have my great grandparents (my moms grandma and grandpa) so I am pretty lucky too. The greats are getting really old and my great grandpa has cancer. Poor man. He is to stubborn to leave though so he isn't going anywhere until he is good and ready. Thats what my mom always says. My other great grandma was a wonderful woman she was I think 99 when she died. I could be wrong...could be a few yrs off. She was sharp as a whip and didn't miss a beat. It would take her a few minutes to gather everything in her head, but she was 99 so I would expect that. I miss her. :goodvibes

My oldest daughter's favorite people in the world are her great grandparents. They spoil her rotten (much to my dismay somtimes). She was the first grandchild and the first great grandchild for my side of the family. We're very lucky in that everyone lives within just a few miles of each other. I truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and it's wonderful for my girls to be able to have those influences in their lives.

I am so not a morning person either. The other day I woke up at twelve thirty and I layed there for a minute telling myself I'd get up and then I fell back asleep until two thirty. :scared1: Opps. Hehe. I love my sleep! What can i say?! I was so glad we didn't have to both with adr's in dec. We booked our trip through Dreams Unlimited and they took care of all our adr's for us. It was great! We took them where we wanted to eat and gave time frames we would like to eat within and they did the rest. Everything worked out well. Who did you book through? Good luck with your adr's I can't wait to hear what you got! :woohoo:

Sounds like a sacrifice I would make....what time do they "open" anyway?!

disneymom1980
04-21-2008, 11:40 AM
Beana9802~I believe they open at 7:00 eastern time which is 6:00 my time. Not too early since I have to get up at 7 to get my oldest ready for school.

Girldreamer02~I actually did all the booking myself. I asked around on the boards, and that seemed to be the easiest way for me to go. We live in a pretty rural area, and the travel agents around here don't really know much about Disney. I probably know A LOT more than they do.

I like to sleep in too, but it's not something I get to do very often. Not with my girls. My youngest has been getting up around 6:30, and my oldest has to get up at 7:00 to get ready for school. Sometimes I can sneak in a nap with my little one while the older one is at school though. Unfortunately, she only naps for about 1/2 an hour at a time :confused3 .

Aww well that sucks. For future reference you might want to book with Dreams Unlimited. They rock and they are only disney as far as I know. They do a great job. We used them for our Christmas trip in dec and we booked our honeymoon disney cruise with them too. :goodvibes

Girldreamer02~I will definitely keep them in mind. I'm really in to the planning part of things, so it doesn't really bother me to do it myself. Hopefully I won't get there and realize I've forgotten something:scared1: . It would be nice to have someone else make ADRs though.

Dh wants to take a cruise someday, but he can't swim, and I have this fear that he'll get in the middle of the ocean somewhere (where he can't see any land) and he'll freak out :rotfl: . We probably will sometime though. He wants to go to Alaska, but I'm trying to convince him that someplace warm (like Mexico) would be nicer. I've been to Cancun and loved it.......I'm not much for the cold.

Yea I know all about the cold. I lived in ohio all my life and then in Nov the same company that df works for offered me a job as his assistant and I moved to WI to live with him and work for the company. Talk about cold. My God I have no desire to ever relive those kind of temps again! It would be like 40 below and it ALWAYS snowed. There was snow on the ground the whole entire winter. Now we moved to Va (travel for work) and we are living about 20 mins from d.c. So much nicer! I love it here! You still get to plan even though you use Dreams unlimited and I do believe you can still do your own adr's, but df and I were busy working so we just let them do it for us. Not to mention they had a few tricks up their sleeves to get some of the adr's we wanted, but were hard to get. So they were useful in that respect. I do believe they are slightly cheaper too. I'm not trying to sound pushy or anything. They just rock is all and I want as many people to know about them as possible. :goodvibes I am scared for our cruise. Boats and I don't have a history of getting along, but our alternative was to not take a honeymoon since he couldn't get a lot of time off work. The cruise is four nights and we pretty much just booked it and said okay I'm taking off these four days and thats final. I mean come on its our honeymoon people. I understand business is business, but his dad was trying to say no honeymoon at all. I should mention his dad is the v.p of the company, but works out of ohio. Its all settled now though. its all good:):goodvibes

Well, I got pretty much everything that I wanted. Things got a little messed up with CRT, but we are scheduled to have a meal there. Here's what our days look like:

October 20
5:00 pm Chef Mickey's

October 21
8:05 am Crystal Palace
5:40 pm CRT (however, our party of 5 is divided between 2 tables)

October 22
10:10 am Tusker House (much later than I wanted, but it was that or 2 tables again)
*hoping to call on Friday and get Yak and Yeti for supper

October 23
8:00 am Ohana
5:45 pm Tony's

October 24
8:30 am Askershus
6:00 pm Coral Reef

October 25
8:55 am Cape May Cafe
4:40 pm 1900 Park Fare
9:00 pm California Grill (just me and DH)

October 26
8:05 am Holllywood and Vine
7:00 pm Brown Derby

I'm still a little perturbed about CRT................DH timed it, and I had a person on the phone 50 seconds after 7:00, and they didn't have any breakfasts for the entire week that we are there. We'll have to figure something out, but it will probably end up being my mom and DD #2 at a separate table. Can I ask when we get there if there is any way they can seat us together?

misscmac
04-23-2008, 07:27 AM
Glad you got most of the ressies that you wanted! As for CRT I would keep calling to check. We called to make a reservation for 8 people and get extremely lucky - someone had cancelled and there was an opening. Also they sat us at two table next to each other (it was along a booth so I think we just pushed the tables together). Hopefully they will do the same for you!

disneymom1980
04-23-2008, 07:44 AM
As long as the tables are close to each other, it's not big deal. I'm just worried that we'll be on opposite sides of the restaurant or something :guilty: .

stagemomx3
04-23-2008, 07:57 AM
I think the having to have two tables is a computer thing, something about how they have to put reservations in Once you are at the restaurant you will more than likely be put at one table. I watched them seat a party of 16 all together at CRT, 5 shouldn't be a problem.

  Awesome! Good Job! Just keep callin' about CRT. However, it might be ok with the two tables, you might end up being right next to each other. Just keep callin' an' buggin' them! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I would keep calling crt not only two be seated together, but also to see if there are any openings for breakfast. Dinner is nice, but the princesses aren't at dinner. Only breakfast. All your adr's look great I'm glad you got what you wanted. :goodvibes

Well, called back in today and got Yak & Yeti on the 22nd at 4:30. Now all I have to do is call tomorrow for the BBB on the 23rd and May 1 for the MNSSHP. Then everything will be ready to go :cool1: .

Girldreamer~We're also doing Askershus and 1900 Park Fare for the princesses, so I'm not too worried about that. Mostly I want CRT for the atmosphere and being able to eat with my daughter inside the castle. We're also hoping to do the BBB in the castle because it doesn't have the Hannah Montana makeover. She did that one at Libby Lu (for a much lower cost), and I know she'd try to pick that one again and we'd end up trying to deal with a fit. I'm going to do a makeover too, and DH is going to do the "Cool Dude".

Girldreamer~I just went through and looked at your trip report. I love the videos your DF did! I'm hoping to do something like that, and we just got a new video camera to take with us. I'm going to play with it some before we go so that I have a better idea of how to use it. However, I think DH will be operating it, and I'll spend most of my time with over regular camera. I was just asking him yesterday if he thought that our memory card was big enough or if we would need another one to take along (ours holds just over 900 pictures :rotfl: ). I'm kind of a picture freak, so I'm just not sure.

Aww thank you. I think he did a god job too! If you aren't taking a computer to dump your pictures every night once you get back to the resort I would def get another memory card especially if you are a picture freak. There were days when we shot at least 300 pictures and we were there for 7 days. Just to give ya an idea b/c we are picture freaks too! Between our pictures and our photopass cd we ended up with a little over 1600 pictures. Good luck to me deciding which ones make the scrapbook, which I still haven't started yet. :rotfl2: Video cameras are so much fun! I can't wait for you to come back and tell us all about it. Hehe. Df told me last night he might book disney today for dec so we'll see what happens when he gets home. :goodvibes

We are going to get the Photopass CD as well, but I think we'll probably get another memory card. We've talked about taking the laptop along, but I don't think that we will.

I scrapbook too, but I think for the Disney pictures I'm just going to try to find a photo album for each park and do it that way. I don' think I'd ever get the scrapbook done. I'm already behind on both of my girls' scrapbooks. We're also thinking about putting together one of the photobooks from the Photopass site for my mom's Christmas present.

Well, I got the BBB appointments made for the castle......no problem. We got the exact times and stuff that we wanted. DD will be doing the Castle package, I will be doing the Coach package, and DH is doing the Cool Dude.

DH is being a great sport about everything, and it should make for really good pictures! He's even agreed to have his face painted (with something masculine, of course). We're going to try to get a good family picture for our Christmas cards :) .

aww thats so awesome that dh is going with the flow. I got one of those rub on tattoos when we were in disney in dec of 06' and df got one too. What a good sport he is. Hehe. I don't think I could swing the face paint with him, but thats okay b/c I hate stuff on my face so its all good. I'm behind on scrapbooks to, but once I sit down and start doing it I can get quite a bit done. i've gotten 5 pages done this week, which may be not seem like a lot, but it takes me a while to do each page so thats a lot for me. You can send them to me and I'll do them. Haha. I made one for my sister in law for her two kids and she loved it! :thumbsup2

Well, I could keep you working for a while. The only one that is completely finished is DD #1's first year (she's 5 now, so that should give you an idea :rotfl: ). I bought a scrapbook for DD #2, but i haven't done anything on it yet.

DH is usually a pretty good sport about most things, especially if it will make his little girls smile. He has come a long way since we first got married, and he's made huge amounts of "daddy progress" since DD #2 was born.

Girldreamer02
04-26-2008, 04:55 PM
aww I love it. Being kept busy would be a blessing at this point. Most of my wedding planning is winding down so I am getting kind of on the bored side as I don't currently work. Long story short...I was df's assistant and he works for a pipeline company as a field office manager. This job is small so they don't need me this time around, but when we go to a bigger job they'll need me again. So basically I have to find ways to fill my time. Hehe. Since I don't have kids and my dog has to live with my parents I get kind of bored sometimes. :goodvibes Scrapbooking is tons of fun! Thats so cute about your dh! I love it! Okay its time to clean the house. Yet another time filler, but also productive and makes me happy b/c I hate dust and all that. :goodvibes

disneymom1980
04-27-2008, 09:10 PM
Wow, it sounds like we have a lot in common. My DH used to work for an oil company moving rigs. Now, he owns his own business, which I work for, driving truck and commercial pesticide and fertilizer application. We also have a dog, but my mom has "shared custody" and he's only here about 1/2 the time. I do most of DH's accounting type work, but that doesn't take a whole lot, and I usually do it during the day while DD #2 is napping or in the evening after the girls are in bed. Unfortunately, dust doesn't bother me too much (I wish it did  ), so cleaning doesn't occupy much of my time. Besides, 2 minutes after I pick up, there are toys everywhere again :rotfl: .

Girldreamer02
04-27-2008, 09:16 PM
That is why I can't have kids for 2-5 yrs. Lol. :rotfl2: The mother instinct hasn't kicked in yet and I get really antsy if there is a mess. We clean up like right after dinner and all that. I even put away my scrapbook stuff when I'm done even though I know I'll end up pulling it all back out the next day. I never realized how much of a neat freak I was until I moved out of my parents house.

To be honest, I wish I was a little more of a neat feak. DD #1 is finally starting to pick up after herself a little better because DD #2 has started crawling and getting into everything. However, DH and I are both a little lax about picking up after ourselves. We try, but it never seems to do much good.

Today was gorgeous here. It was about 70 degrees with just a light breeze, so DD #1 spent most of the afternoon riding her bike and DD #2 and I went for a walk to the post office to mail some bills for DH. It's supposed to get nasty here again on Wednesday, so I figured we should take advantage of the good weather while we have it.

The only thing that I have to think about for the trip is the tickets to MNSSHP which go on sale on Thursday. Once I've gotten those and know that we get to go on the night we want, pretty much everything will be taken care of. My mom is going to make my costume (Wendy), DH is going to be Peter Pan, and DD #1 is going to be tinkerbell. My mom and DD #2 are going to go back to the resort since it will get pretty late.

Well, we're all sick here now. Both of my DDs and I have an awful cold. Last night DD #2 woke up at 1:30 and basically never went back to sleep. I pretty much feel like I got him by a bus (Dh said, "At least it wasn't a train.")

I have spent a little more time working on my spreadsheets, and I'm going to type up cards for each day with "must sees" at the parks, confirmation numbers, and other information. I also probably need to start working on making some of the t-shirts that the wonderful people on the DIS thread have personalized for me. I'm so excited!

We got our MNSSHP tickets this morning. I had to call like 10 times before I could even get through (it kept saying that all circuits are busy), and then I had to wait on hold for about 45 minutes. Oh well, at least I got the date we wanted, and I was up with the little one anyway.

The shirt designs are from the board here, and they are awesome! I can't wait to get started on them. I will definitely have pictures of those to share. There are so many talented, helpful people there.

Sounds awesome I can't wait to see them! Congrats on getting your tickets for the night you wanted. Hurray  :yay: :woohoo: :thumbsup2 I think I am going to have someone create a design for us for our honeymoon since we are going on a disney cruise. Don't you just iron on the designs to a tee shirt? Sounds simple enough. Hehe.

All you have to do is by iron on paper for your computer printer and then print them off and iron them on the shirt. I've actually done it for my daughter's birthday before, and it looks pretty cute. The people on the Disign thread are really wonderful. They're all so talented and helpful!

Stephanie~I would imagine you definitely have to make it worth your time when you travel that far. I thought it was bad having to travel to Florida from Kansas :lmao: . We're hoping to catch Sea World next time around, but I doubt we'll go to Universal until they open up the Harry Potter part (I'm a little obssessed).

Scott~I understand.....life just gets crazy sometimes. I'm still checking in on your pre trip report, and I see that you got lucky and get to go AGAIN! Well, at least that gives me more trip reports to read. What else would I do during nap time :cool1: .

I clicked on your report after you had a reply to my request for the MNSSHP autograph book design. After reading what you wrote, it looks like we are almost in the same boat. I will be 28 in August. We are headed to WDW in Oct & doing the land/sea package. Traveling will be me (the planner), my dh (who is not too enthused a/b the trip - he's afraid that I'm going to run them to death), dd #1 - will be 5 in Nov & dd#2 - who is 13 mos (17 mos at time of trip). We are also going with my cousin & her dh & ds, 3 yo.

We are doing the MNSSHP & my dd#1 will be sleeping beauty & dd#2 is cinderella (#1s old costume). DD#1 is doing the BBB, then dinner w/Cinderella at the royal table, then the MNSSHP. Everyone in my trip thinks I am obsessed with this trip (which I am), but I would like things done right. I called to make ADR exactly 180 days from our trip.

I went to Disney when I was around 12, a field trip at age 17, and we took DD#1 there one day when she was 2 while my husband was there on business. This will be my first time staying on a disney property - POR. Also, this will be all of ours first Disney Cruise. All the adults have been on carnival & RC before. I can't wait to see the kids faces when we see the boat for the first time.

Hope I didn't ramble on too much!

Andrea

It does sounds like we have an awful lot in common :) . Dh is kind of getting into things since he's seen all of the work I'm putting into it. I can't wait to share all of the magic with my girls too. DD #1 is a princess obsessed girl, and she's been most of them over previous halloweens. \

What are the dates that you guys are going?

abwilliams22
06-02-2008, 09:29 PM
We will be there Oct 5 - Oct 12. I figure this is the last year DD#1 will be a princess. I think by next year she will be grown out of that stage, which is so sad. Time goes by way too fast.

disneymom1980
06-02-2008, 10:05 PM
I agree totally..........DD has a Hannah Montana obsession that may overwhelm her princess one any day now, and I'm just not ready for it. I love all the girly stuff and the princesses, so, I have to admit, I feel blessed to have two little girls.....they let me live out my girly, girl needs without feeling silly. I was actually going to do the BBB with her, but I cut my hair short, and I don't think I'll be spending the money on it now.

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know that the planning is continuing. Right now, I'm working on checklist cards for each of the parks included rides that our family has dubbed as "not to be missed". I'm trying to customize it by having the other adults in the trip help.

Here is our Magic Kingdom checklist (pg 1):

I'm also making cards for each of the restaurants we're eating at so that I can do a better trip/dining report. Here is the one I made for Yak and Yeti.

Hi.....glad to see you here. I admit, I don't update here as much as I could, but I'm planning on doing a VERY good trip report. I bought a new memory card for the trip that will hold over 1,000 pictures, and I'm pretty sure it will be full by the time we get home :) .

disneymom1980
06-29-2008, 09:57 PM
Well, I've been working on my Disney memory book. I've had all the cards printed off from Snapfish, and I'm going to mount them on Mat Stacks (for scrapbooking) with photo corners so that they can be taken out of the book and put into oru photo album with the pictures. I also used Natalie's invites and will use them as the starter picture for meal pictures in the photo albums.

The last thing that I have to make (besides our t-shirts) is the itinerary books with what park we'll be in each day, dining reservations, confirmation numbers, etc. I'm going to print off one for us and one for my mom so that if we get separated or if she decides to go back to the hotel for a rest or something, she'll know where to find us. I guess I still need to print off our Dining plan cards (for us to mark off the meal credits) too.

I'm so excited, and I wish the trip wasn't so far away. DH is harvesting for his family right now, and it's been very stressful. We definitely all need a break.

Just thought I'd drop by to say hello. I have been so busy with last minute wedding stuff that I have been neglecting the dis. That and I am really bummed that we might not be able to make our annual trip in Dec because if df's work schedule. We still don't know anything yet and I wish they would tell us gosh darnit because it is getting really close to 180 days and I want good adr's of course! :thumbsup2 Your little card things are a wonderful idea! I might actually take that idea and run with it if we do end up getting to go. Since I like to do a meal report and what not. If not I'll just use a notebook and keep up with that, but I think we do need the must see's for sure b/c last year we forgot to go back to toon town to see minnie and mickeys house and I've been bummed about it ever since I realized it when we got home in dec. Lol. Good luck sounds like you got it under control:)

Well, there's not to much to report as far as Disney goes, so I thought I'd update you on some other things that are going on here. We had a 4th of July barbecue with several of our family members, and we shot off A LOT of fireworks.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/100_0842.jpg
It was nice, but we were missing several family members that usually come, so that was disappointing. I tried practicing with the fireworks mode on my camera (so that I can get some good ones at MNSSHP), but I only got about two good ones.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/100_0878.jpg
If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Last night we took DD #1 to a local carnival along with my neice, and that was a lot of fun too. My neice, who is 12, actually got me on some of the wilder rides. I told her I was "preparing for Disney."

This week DH and I are going to St. Louis because he needs to buy another semi for our business. My mom is keeping the girls (see what I mean about how much she does for us), so it will be a nice little get away for me and DH. I'm really looking forward to it. DH wants to go to Six Flags if we have time, so that would be REAL preparation for Disney. I'm not really a roller coaster fan, but I'm sure he'd get me on some of them :). I'll update with pics when we get back.

The cutest baby elephant ever!

We had a lot of fun, and it was really nice for DH and I to get away alone for a couple of days. This weekend, we're going to KC for my cousin's baby shower, and we're going to take the girls to the zoo there.

If it tells you anything about how I'm going to be at Disney, I took over 200 pictures on this trip!

It's funny that you say. I actually took pictures of the capsules because of friend of mine and her family are going to St. Louis in a couple of weeks and she was asking me if I thought she'd be okay at the top because she's afraid of heights. I told her I was more worried about her getting to the top......when she saw the pictures of the capsules, she told me that just looking at it made her want to puke and there was no way she was getting in one of those :rotfl: .

She was glad I took the pictures from the top because she said it was the only way she'd get to see it.

Ok everyone.....I've had an AWFUL afternoon, and I need to vent!

Today I got an email from Expedia saying that my flights had been cancelled and that I needed to call immediately :headache: ! I called and got the rudest people I have ever spoken to on the phone.....I had to go through 3 technicians before some one could give me an explanation of what was going on and connect me to a supervisor. The supervisor was also incredibly rude, but did manage to explain to me that Midwest has cancelled all of its flights from KC to basically ANYWHERE in Florida! I booked these flights in April because they were the only nonstop flights that expedia showed.

Well, I had to fight and argue with them and tell them that I didn't want to sit around and wait and see what happened......I wanted my reservation cancelled NOW!!! Supposedly they are going to refund the amount to my credit card (which I'll believe when I see and have already talked to Chase about), and cancelled the flight.

My mom called the airport in KC, and they said the most reliable airline is Southwest and that they also fly nonstop to Orlando. It is going to cost us about an extra $100 dollars per person, but, at this point, I don't care as long as we get there!

Well, since we now how what I'm hoping are "stable" flights, I made a few changed to our itinerary. Instead of trying to squeeze in three sit down meals on the 25th, I cancelled our reservation for Cape May Cafe and moved it to our departure day. We're not leaving until 5:30 now, so we'll actually have a little time to do things that day. I think we're going to try to do
lunch at Beach's and Cream as well.

Today I also booked something that I'm pretty excited about......I booked a limo for our airport transfers  . My mom and the girls have never been in a limo before, so I think it will be a lot of fun. I knew that I didn't really wanted to do the Magical Express because we'll have the 14 month old and the car seat and everything. She's not exactly patient, so I just figured that this would be easier. At first, all I could find was a van to do the transfers because we needed them to supply a carseat. Well, now that DD #2 will have her own seat on the plane, we'll have her carseat anyway. I'm so excited.......the only time that I've been in a limo is when DH and I got married (6 years ago), so I think it's about time to experience it again!

I got our shirts in the mail the other day (I ordered them from jiffyshirts.com), and now all I have to do is get the transfers and put them on. I figured I'd add some pictures of them :) Dh and I are both going to have 5, and both DDs will have 6.

I took some pictures of my planning notebook. I know it's difficult to read things on the spreadsheet pages, but it was the best I could do. I also took pictures of the autograph book I've made with the autograph pages from one of the DIS designers.

This is the autograph book......they are in alphabetical order, and it was DH's idea to put the tabs on so that the pages would be easier to find.

Well, I finally finished my coundown calendar, and I have to credit the idea to punkin413 (thanks again :flower3: ). Home Depot didn't have Mickey heads in the exact colors that I wanted, so I went with blue, green, red, and purple and a princess theme. I think it turned out pretty well, and DD #1 was SO EXCITED when she saw it. We won't be able to start taking Mickey heads off until the beginning of September. Sorry the picture isn't better, I think my shadow kind of made it a little dark. I'll take another picture when I get it hung up in my daughter's room.

I'm glad that you all liked the countdown calendar :) Now I just need to figure out some way to get it to stay hung up on the wall. I tried scotch tape, but it fell down pretty quickly. I don't really want to use that sticky tack stuff because it sometimes stains your paint. I don't even know what else to try.

However.......today is exactly 2 months until our trip:banana:  !!!!!! I'm so excited. I also ordered a little surprise for DD #1, and they came in the mail today. I'll post pictures and explain after she is in bed. Of course one of you (OneTreeHillAddict ;)--thanks again) may already know what this is .

The other exciting news......tomorrow is DD #2's FIRST birthday! I can't believe my baby is going to be 1!!! It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital.....now she's walking and talking. It just doesn't seem possible.

Ok, one more piece of excitement going on at our house right now. DD #1 started kindergarten yesterday. My little ones are growing up way too fast! She is at school all day this year (as opposed to 1/2 day preschool last year), and it's an adjustment for both of us. It actually makes things at home a bit harder because DD #1 was a great help in entertaining DD #2.....it's pretty much impossible for me to get anything done during the day now except when DD #2 is sleeping. Oh well, we'll adjust.....I'm glad DD is enjoying school.....except the lunches!!!

disneymom1980
08-20-2008, 09:06 PM
Well, in addition to the pictures of the surprise, I figured I'd include a few others. Here is DD #1 ready for the first day of school yesterday.

Here are the surprises......a Cinderella dress and a jasmine outfit for DD #1.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/100_1380.jpg

She is getting the Tinkerbelle costume from the BBB, and that's the only costume I was planning on. Well, I found an ebay seller that sells the dresses from the Disney parks at 1/2 price. I just couldn't resist it. We are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare, so I figured she could wear the Cinderella one for that (DD used to always say that Cinderella was her favorite princess, but for some reason the last couple of days she has been saying that her favorite is Belle......oh well). As for Jasmine, I loved the costume, and, honestly, I know that DD probably wouldn't pick it for herself. We are going to the princess breakfast in Norway, and I figure she can wear it that day so that even if Jasmine isn't in the breakfast, hopefully we can find her and Aladdin in the World Showcase.

She is at the age right now where she really loves princesses and dressing up.....I guess seeing her go to kindergarten reminded me that she won't always be little. What if by the next time we go (probably not until 2012) she doesn't want to dress up anymore. I just don't want to miss the opportunity.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes for DD #2. Tune in the next couple of days, and I'm sure you'll see pictures. Her party with our extended familly isn't until the 30th, but we always have cake and stuff on their actual birthday too!

OneTreeHillAddict
08-20-2008, 11:26 PM
She is going to love her costumes!!!! :lovestruc I've seen Jasmine at breakfast a couple of times so ya might see her. If not she hangs out in Morocco but I know you already know that! :rotfl2: I'm bringing both Belle and Ariel to breakfast...hopefully Ariel will greet. (Although at Breakfast we've always gotten Belle.)

Hi everyone.....as promised, I'm back with some pictures from DD #2's first birthday. We aren't having her actual party until the 30th, but we still wanted to have cake on her real birthday. We ended up with a cupcake cake, and it was really cute.

It did, however, teach me that frosting should always be white on first birthday cakes. She was basically stained green by the time she was done :).

They tickets are park hoppers, so that could be done on some days too. Do you think we will be okay doing the Cape May breakfast on our departure day?

That looks great...makes me want to go again and I just got back ;) I would certainly do more character breakfasts than dinners since DD (and I) are better in the am. And that gets us up and out in the parks early. That was the best morning when we were in MK before opening.

Ok everyone........exactly ONE week until we leave for Disney! However, wouldn't you know it, both DDs have come down with colds :(. We're doing the Airborne and hoping that everyone is better by next week, but it won't stop us!

I still have tons of stuff to get done. I'm working on several of our t-shirts yet, and I have started packing, but there is still a lot to do. Since I'm not exactly sure of what the weather will be like, I'm packing jeans as well as capris/shorts for pretty much everyone, but I think we'll probably be wearing mostly jeans.

I'm hoping to get all of the t-shirts done within the next day or two, so I should be posting pictures of those soon.

1 week!!!!!! :yay: so exciting! good luck on your to-do list. i would pack clothes for layering. it will probably be hot during the day but then at night it can get kinda cool. i've never been there in october but i hear it's comparable to late april/early may and ray and i had on jackets at night this past april/may. just wait 'til you see the fall decorations - so pretty!!!

We're really excited. DD keeps saying, "When can I take another Mickey head off the countdown? They're almost all gone!"

Yep, that's what I'm planning. Everyone has a zip up sweatshirt, so if it's cool we can easily add a layer, but it will also be easy to take off.

I hope that you guys have a great trip and can't wait to hear about it when you get back.

Hi :welcome: ! The pre-trip report has been a little slow because I'm never quite sure what to post, but the trip report will be better, I promise. I'm pretty much a picture freak, so there should be lots!!!!

I hope everyone is better too.....DD #1 seems to already be on the mend, except for the runny nose. We're all doing the airborne (except DD #2), so hopefully that will help.

Ok, I was PRODUCTIVE during DD #2's nap this morning. I now have ALL the transfers for our shirts printed. I have to wash the blue and black shirts yet, and then they'll be all ready to go :cool1: ! Hopefully my mom and I can get them all ironed on tomorrow and I can post pictures!

Today I called 1900 Park Fare because I wanted to order something special for DD #1. I honestly couldn't decide between the mini castle cake and the slipper dessert. When I showed them to DD (a long time ago so that she'd forget about it), she said she like the slipper dessert. However, DH said that he liked the mini castle cake better................

SO, crazy woman that I am, I just ordered both of them :thumbsup2. I figure, we have two DDs, so we can have two surprises. If we don't want to eat it all, we'll just take it along. Dh is going to think I'm nuts, but that's nothing new!

Great PTR. My family also has a wonderful Nana. My DM is also MY DD3's favorite person in the world. We are having a girls only Disney trip Oct 23-30. Yeah we are in single digits. I hope you and your family have a great time!

I do feel really lucky to have such a great mom and a great Nana for my girls. It has been just me and my mom since I was about a year old, and she did more for me than I could ever ask, and now she does for my daughters as well. I feel lucky that we can afford to take her along with us so that she can share in the magic.

You must be soooo excited!! only 3 more days!! Your DD's are so darn adorable!! I have been reading your TR, and SWEAR I responded... once? but I can't find it now :confused3

We are definitely excited, and thanks for the comments about my DDs. I agree, but I'm a little partial :) . We'll take all the pixie dust we can get!

I'm pretty sure the castle cake is $25, but we'll see for sure when I get the bill. I just wanted to do something really special, and, even though she said she liked it better, I'm not sure DD will eat the slipper. She's not really a fan of white chocolate. I guess we'll see, but I got the castle cake in chocolate.

Thank you for the well wishes........I hope you enjoy my trip report as much as I've enjoyed yours :thumbsup2 ! I honestly can't wait to write it.

Ok, you guys are not going to believe this...........this morning we ended up at the clinic (better than the ER, but still bad). Both DDs were up all night last night, and DD #1 has a raging ear infection in both ears! I decided that I was going to have them check out both DDs since we were there, and it turns out that DD #2 has an ear infection too. Both of them are now on antibiotics and DD #1 is on a steroid nasal spray. I just hope they are both better by Monday.........DD #1 is incredibly miserable :sad1: .

Ok, I'm going to start off with some basic information in case someone didn't read my pre-trip report. Our travel party includes:

Me (Tristin)........This is my third trip to Disney, and I'm a little obsessed :lmao: . I did all the planning, ADRS, etc.

DH (Adam).........This is his first trip to Disney, and our first vacation as a family. We've been married 6 and a half years. His family never really took vacations, and he definitely does not understand my love for Disney......at least not yet!

DD #1 (Anna)........My 5 year old princess. She loves everything princess or girly, in fact it's what her room is decorated in. I would have said prior to this trip that she's pretty passive and not much of a thrill seeker, but she kind of changed my mind at Disney ;) .

DD #2 (Addyson....usually known as Addy)........Our 14 month old sweetheart. She is very independent and opinionated........if she doesn't like something, you're going to know about it. Turns out characters would be one of those things, but we'll get to that later.

And, last but certainly not least, my mom (known as Nana).......my mom pretty much raised me by herself from the time I was a year old. She's wonderful and is a huge help with my little girls. I hope that I can do as good a job with them as she did, by herself, when I was growing up. This trip was supposed to partly be a "thank you" for everything she does for us.

Our trip was October 20-27, and we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside.

Ok, now we're going to get started with the real stuff......not the FUN stuff just yet, but the real stuff!

Those of you that read my pre-trip report know that both DDs, as well as DH, had not been feeling great the week before the trip thanks to a rather vicious cold. They seemed to be doing better by the end of the week, but then the REAL problem hit. At about 2 am Friday night/early Saturday morning, I woke up to DD #1 crying hysterically :scared1: . I ran over to her room in a panic because she never does that unless she's really sick. She told me that her ears hurt too bad for her to sleep. This made me completely freak out........here we are, two days from her first plane ride, and she clearly has a VERY bad ear infection!

I gave her some tylenol so that she could sleep and basically resigned myself to the fact that we'd be spending most of the next day in the Emergency Room begging a doctor to give us antibiotics for her ear infection (since docs don't like to give anything for ear infections any more). Turns out that we got lucky, and there was a local clinic open. The nurse practitioner there had no problems giving us antibiotics (turns out both of the girls had double ear infections), and also gave us some nasal spray for DD #1. This is what DD #1 looked like for most of the day Satuday....
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld001.jpg.
Pretty awful, I know......I was pretty worried. She wouldn't eat anything all day, but I think she did drink an entire container of orange juice by herself.

DD #2's ear infection was as bad, but she was not in a great mood either. Not real helpful since I was trying to finish up packing and such.

Luckily, the antibiotics seemed to take effect quickly, and we saw improvement by the next morning in both girls. This was probably also helped by the fact that everyone got a good night's sleep......well, everyone but me because I was too busy stressing about things.

disneymom1980
11-02-2008, 10:46 AM
Well, Sunday rolled around, and both DDs seemed to be doing at least a little better. We managed to get my mom picked up on time and stuff all of the luggage in the back of the van. I drove the first half of the trip, my mom sat up front with me, and DH sat in the middle row with DD #2 and watched Sesame Street ;) . DD #2 sat in the very back row and watched the Disney channel for pretty much the entire trip.

We drove to the first major city......which took us three hours, and decided to stop to have lunch because it was after 2. We ate at one of my favorite places--The Olive Garden. I admit, not very gourmet, but not someplace I get to eat very often, and I LOVE IT!!!! There will be some food pictures in my report, but none from here I'm afraid. DD #1 still wasn't feeling herself, so she didn't eat very much. DD #2, on the other hand, probably ate more than me. Nothing seems to stop her from eating.

After lunch, we made a quick run into Babies R Us to grab a few last minute items for the trip. Then, we all piled back into the van and continued our drive. It took us about another hour to get to my cousin's house, and then she drove us to our hotel. It was the Radisson Airport in Kansas City, and it was NOT a very pleasant hotel. I was complaining about it to my friend, but she was kind enough to remind me that we would only be there one night, and then we would be in Disney World :dance3: !

So, we got set up with the shuttle for 5:40 in the morning :sad2: and all went to bed. I knew it wasn't going to be a whole lot of fun to get either DD up that either (or DH either for that matter), but it had to be done. I hadn't flown in several years, DH hadn't flown in over 10 years, my mom hadn't flown in 20 years, and neither DD had ever flown. No one was familiar with regulations, check in, etc, so that made me a little nervous.

I got up about 5 and took my shower.......then I dragged DH out of bed and he helped me get the girls ready. At about 5:30, the girls and I made our way downstairs and DH and my mom tried to get all of the luggage loaded on a cart. I kind of had to hold the shuttle because it took FOREVER for DH to get down. There was only one other person on our shuttle, so it was a pretty quiet ride.

We did curb side check in with our bags and realized we were missing a bag :scared1: .........it was an important one too because it had DD #2's blanket in it. We called the hotel and they said they'd send the shuttle back over ASAP with our bag. DH waited outside and mom and I made our way in with the girls. We got in line for security, and luckily had no problems......they did go through my mom's carry on bag, but I think that's only because she had her portable DVD player in it and it was really heavy.

DH showed up shortly thereafter, and we all got settled in to wait for our flight.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld002.jpg
As you can see, DD already looked much better:) ......thank goodness! The flight was completely full, but luckily we had "A" boarding passes, so we didn't really have any trouble finding two rows of seats close together. We didn't know this when we got DD #2 her own seat, but it turned out that she had to be in the seat next to the window since we were using her carseat, so she sat next to the window, I sat in the middle, and DH sat on the end of our row. My mom and DD #1 sat in the row directly across from us, with DD next to the window.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld005.jpg
An older woman sat in the third row in that seat which was nice because DD spent most of the flight yelling things across the aisle to me  .

DD #2 fell asleep almost immediately when the flight took off, and slept for about the first hour.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld003.jpg
The flight was very smooth, and the view was just gorgeous.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld004.jpg
When DD did wake up, she wasn't in the best of moods,
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld007.jpg
but shortly thereafter they brought our snack,
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld006.jpg
and having something to eat made her happy again.

The flight was just short of three hours, and had the smoothest landing of any flight I've ever been on. We made our way to baggage claim and started looking for our driver.

Up next..........where the heck is our driver  !

So, we get to baggage claim and start looking for our driver (or at least a sign with our name on it). THERE WAS NO ONE THERE! I was freaking out because I had booked through a website, and, genious that I am, I forgot to print a copy of it :scared1: . I went to the company's website on my Blackberry, and called while DH and my mom tried to round up all the luggage. Luckily, I had no problem getting ahold of someone, and it just turned out that the driver was still getting through security.......heart attack averted!

By the time the driver made it in, DH, my mom, and an airport employee had gotten all of the luggage and had it all on a cart ready to go, so we went straight to the limo. IT WAS AWESOME!!! DD #1 was so excited to ride in a limo! The driver had brought along Dumbo, so both girls were happy. As we were making our way to our stop at the grocery store, I took a few pictures (none of the outside.......sorry).

We made a quick stop at the grocery store and mom and I ran in and picked up diapers (I didn't pack too many because I was trying to save room in the luggage) and some snacks. We were just about the ONLY people in the entire grocery store.

After that, we were off to Port Orleans! It was so exciting when we finally started to see the Disney World signs. I was trying to point out things to DH, but they were going by pretty quickly. We had no problems getting checked in, but our rooms were not ready (they said they were completely full the prior weekend), so after a quick stop in the gift shop........

aww you got to ride in a limo...that is awesome! We always just take magical express...perhaps one time I should talk dh into a limo ride. We rode in a limo from our wedding reception to the airport on our wedding night, which was pretty awesome and nice. It was suppose to be a town car, but they didn't have any so they brought us a nice pretty limo! Yay! Your daughters are super adorable and you have a very cute family! The little pumpkin mickey ears are to cute for words and I can't wait to hear more about the magic kingdom!:goodvibes  :thumbsup2

Honestly, we didn't do the Magical Express because I didn't want to have to wait around the airport with two little ones. DD #2 is pretty impatient, and she tends to get pretty vocal when she's not getting her way........not a lot of fun. A towncar wasn't big enough enough for all of us, so a limo was the way to go :thumbsup2 ! It was a lot of fun.

Thanks for the compliments of the girls.......it's easy to make them look cute.....they're naturals :lovestruc .

If your wedding has already taken place, is your ticker wrong? I guess I thought you were still in the planning stages of your wedding :confused3 :confused3 .

Sorry for the confusion...my ticker needs to be revamped...we got married july 19th of this year. When you were doing your pre tr I was in the planning stages...well in the very early part of your pre tr. Hehe. Yep...I'm a married girl now. :thumbsup2 No babies for us though for 2-5 years, but I hope they are as cute as yours when they come! So adorable! :) I have been meaning to change my siggy, but I keep forgetting to have dh do it for me. I want to put a pic in there from our wedding and then a few from the disney cruise we took:) Okay enough rambling..this is your trippie. I can't wait to hear more.:) Sorry for the confusion again:)

Feel free to chime in anytime. I honestly don't want to be doing all the talking.....I do enough of that during the day when I'm home by myself with the 14 month old  .

Thank you........there are several more matching shirts to come. There is a picture of all 5 of us wearing these shirts at Chef Mickey's from that first night, but it's only on the Photopass CD which I haven't ordered yet. I'm still working or adding all the borders and stuff :goodvibes .

I forgot to mention we might be taking a disney trip in dec. Long story short dh went behind my back before the wedding and called dreams unlimited and booked our disney trip for dec 13th-21st and didn't tell me b/c I told him I didn't want to plan it and have to cancel it b/c that would just make me ball my eyes out. Due to work we don't know if we can go still, but with dreams unlimited you can cancel up to the day before and only lose 200 bucks. I have no idea if this is how all of disney operates or not...just so nobody tries it and then comes back to yell at me. I'm going off of what dh has told me. Well anyways a reminder popped up on the computer in our bedroom telling him to pay the payment and I saw it and thats how it came to be that I found out. I found out about three weeks ago and we still don't know if we can go. The only thing I know is that we have a afternoon flight on the 13th, which I'm assuming would mean we'd do the same thing we did last year when we got there and that is go to dtd and walk around and grab a bite to eat. I have no idea where we are staying b/c he won't tell me even though I've begged him, but he won't tell b/c quite honestly I told him I don't want to know anything until our suitcases are packed b/c then it can't be taken away from us. Its bad enough that I know about it and our chances are only about 50/50. I hate working in such an uncertain business and I really hate that he booked it, but if it turns out we can go then I'll be thanking my lucky stars b/c if we found out tomorrow we could go all adr's would be booked and that would suck. I'm assuming that we're staying at AKL again and that we're doing MVMCP b/c last year we missed it by one day. The last party was the day before we got there. Its all guess work though b/c he won't tell me. The upside is my birthday is the 12th so we'll be celebrating it when we go to disney! (yes thats right I'm being optimistic and saying when we go!) Keep your fingers crossed for us!:thumbsup2 :wizard:

I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for you :thumbsup2 ......when will you know for sure? As you can see from my ticker, DH and I are actually going back in January (just us, no kids). I'm really excited. DH loved Disney as much as I did, and he's even talking about doing DVC. It's for my birthday as well, but mine is the 18th, which is Martin Luther King weekend, so we're waiting a couple of days to avoid the holiday crowds. DH was going to try to do it himself and surprise me, but he gave up because he had no idea how to do ADRs and such. It's ok with me really..........I enjoy the planning part.

We were REALLY hoping to stay at a monorail resort, but, right now, there's no special deals or anything, so we just can't afford it. We're booked at POP, but I'm subscribed to the January code thread and really hoping something will come out.

DD #1's birthday is December 13, so the day after your's! She's going to be 6, and I just can't believe it.

By the time we got checked in at the resort and made it to the Magic Kingdom, everyone was STARVING, so I snapped a few quick pictures on the way in,

and we ended up at the first place that we came to.........Pinocchio's Village Haus. It was about 12:45, and the place was completely insane. You could hardly walk because there were so many people.

I tried to do a quick explanation to DH of how the dining plan worked so that he knew how to order, and then DD #2 and I went to scout out a table. We went to the part of the restaurant that overlooks It's a Small World because it's closest to the ordering lines and I thought both DDs would enjoy it.

I stood around like a dork for a long time, and then a family that was leaving saw us and offered us their table. They even let me and DD sit down with them until they left because there was this crazy woman hovering around trying to take all the tables........she already had four of them right by the viewing window, so I can't believe she really needed another one.

DH, my mom, and DD #1 finally made it over to the table. DH had gotten a pepperoni pizza meal with fries and cheesecake for us to share and a peanut butter and jelly kid's meal with applesauce and a chocolate chip cookie for DD.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld029.jpg
I know some people don't like the pizza at Disney, but we really enjoyed it.

My mom had the Mediterranean salad and Figaro Fries.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld030.jpg
She really liked the salad, especially the mozzarella on it. I ended up eat lots of her fries, and although I never had them the original way (with lettuce and ranch), I think they probably were better that way. They were still good though.

I think Anna (DD #1) was still feeling the effects of the ear infection and the antibiotic because she basically didn't eat anything. Addy (DD #2) ate absolutely anything that we gave her, which is pretty normal for her.

Anna decided she needed to go to the bathroom, so she and I went in search for them. Turns out we had to go out of the actual restaurant and to the side, and there was a really LONG wait. They were remodeling the bathroom, and only like 3 of the stalls were open. We finally made it in, but on the way back out, there was a little girl waiting in line with her mom crying because she hadn't been able to wait. I felt horrible for both her and the mother. The girl was so upset, and the mom just kept trying to tell her it was ok :sad1: .

Once we finished eating, Anna insisted that we HAD to go on It's a Small World. My grandma, who Anna is really close to, had been telling Anna all about it because it was her favorite ride when she was at Disney World about 30 years ago. There was a 40 minute wait, but we went ahead and rode. Needless to say, Addy was less than thrilled about being stuck in the line for that long, but she did enjoy the boat ride and the music. Anna loved the ride, and DH even admited to enjoying it ;) . He also managed to get a few good pictures.

We tried to take a family picture when we got off, but Addy was tired and grumpy not interested......
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld049.jpg
I will tell you that this was the one and only day that Addy didn't get a nap, and it was a HUGE mistake! She was definitely not happy, and it really put a damper on things. The only time she was happy was when she was riding around on daddy's shoulders :) .

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld056.jpg

When we got off, there was basically no wait for Snow White, so we went and rode it. Anna was a little scared, but she actually did better than I expected, probably because she was famliar with the storyline. Addy, on the other hand, was scared to death......I felt like a bad mommy for even taking her on it :(. DH got a few pictures here too......

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld061.jpg

After we got off the ride, we walked through a few shops and bought a pressed penny book and let Anna made our first penny of the trip. We tried on a few hats

Sorry I'm impatient :rolleyes1 I was just giving ya a hard time anyways. I loved the update! I've never ate there and we probably won't when we go in dec if its anything like you said it was...I don't do the whole crowd thing. I melt down like a five year old. Lol. I wish I could say this was a false statement, but its really not. DH is constantly making sure that we are eating at just the right times when we are at disney and if I start to show any signs of lack of sugar hes like oh its time for food. Haha. I'm sure this is true of a lot of people, but when my blood sugar gets low...I just start to get cranky and dis interested in stuff. If I really let it crash thats a bad sight:scared1: As i'm sure you can imagine since you have little kids. Hes pretty good at seeing the warning signs...I should hope so after five years. :) I always eat more at disney than normal too...I think its b/c you burn off your meal after you eat by all that walking so I'm always like starving if we have a early dinner. We rode its a small world this past dec b/c there was no wait...weird i know right? We hit at just the right time! We got almost everything in before one. It was weird. I like its a small world...even if the song does get to you after a while, but all the colors are so pretty. Very awesome! Snow White is okay and we always ride it, but I like peter pan and winnie the pooh best! The hat picture is so cute! :thumbsup2 And the family pic even if the little one isn't to pleased. :goodvibes

:rotfl: I know you were just giving me a hard time. I give my girl scout promise (well, my girl scout leader promise since I'm old now ;) )to try to get at least one update up everyday.

I have blood sugar issues too, so I know exactly what you mean. DH isn't so good at catching it, but my mom can see it coming from a mile away. I was pretty happy with myself on this trip because I ate basically whatever I wanted and managed to not gain any weight.........it had to have been all the walking.

I couldn't believe the line for IASW........we walked by a couple of days later, and the wait was like 10 minutes. I think that we just caught it at the wrong time. I loved Winnie the Pooh too (he's my favorite), but we were really disappointed because we never got to ride Peter Pan this trip. The line was really long (like a 45 minute wait) every time we walked by........even at MNSSHP! Anna says it's the first thing she's going to ride the next time we go :) .

cute pictures! your girls are adorable. glad you guys got some attractions in before dinner at chef mickey's.

Thank you. As you may have noticed, most people tell us that we have carbon copies.........one of each. Anna looks, and acts, pretty much exactly like me. Right down to the curly hair. Addy, on the other hand, is exactly like her daddy. I never would have believed anyone who tried to tell me that two sisters could be that completely opposite, but our girls definitely are :goodvibes .

We wanted to get a few rides in before Chef Mickey's, but we also wanted to make sure we had ample time to get there since it was our first ADR.

I always eat what I want too...I'm not a huge eater, but like I said when I do all that walking...I eat several times at disney a day. If we have dinner at 5 and then walk around...that kills me I'm starving by 9ish. So we'll stop somewhere and eat or get a snack depending how hungry I am hehe. Pooh is my fave too...well I love all of them, but pooh and tigger are my top two faves out of all the winnie the pooh characters. My sister and I were complete night and day when we were younger...didn't look alike and she was the more outgoing of the two of us. Now that we've grown up though we are a little more similar, but still don't look anything alike. She is a little shorter than me and chubby I guess is a nice way of saying it? :confused3 Blonde hair that she has to highlight every month and straighten every single day b/c God forbid it should be naturally curly like it is...and its so beautiful when she lets it be curly which is like once in a blue moon. Me on the other hand...tall and skinny and I have brown hair and I have to pay to have mine permed...some people have all the luck. She was a soccer player, took all the art classes and was amazing in them and really good at the violin...I struggled through 8 years of band and I don't have an artistic bone in my body. Unless you count photography and scrapbooking as art. I love photography though...we actually both share both those loves. Wait till they start fighting if they don't already. We used to beat the living stuffing out of each other and she used to steal my clothes and stretch them out. :scared1: If you would of told me five years ago my sister would be my best friend some day I would of looked at you like you were crazy. We are though and I miss her so much. She did just come to visit with her fiance about three weeks ago so that was nice! :thumbsup2

I love all of the Pooh characters too.......I'm making DH go back to the Crystal Palace breakfast in January because I didn't get pictures with all of them :) . I wish that I could eat whatever I wanted.......I have PCOS, and I tend to gain weight very easily, so I have to be really careful. Plus, I'm only 5'1, so every little bit shows.

I sure hope my girls grow up being best friends....they are just so opposite now. However, Addy is very fond of Anna and always gets excited when it's time to go pick her up from school and stuff. I guess we just kind of have to wait and see.

OMG I noticed that too about the CS places. They get so busy and run out of tables. That part I did not miss on the DlxDP. I'm worried this time. The CS was crazy! I tried to make it a point to eat earlier the other days, and we didn't really run into that problem. Of course, a lot of the days we just had ADRs for breakfast and supper and just kind of snacked for lunch.

The girls did like IASW, but I'm not sure either of them thought that it was worth that long of a wait. I would love to sleep in the castle too........everytime they would introduce someone (in the parade or whatever) that had won that prize, Anna would get all upset and say, "Why don't WE get to sleep in the castle?!?!?!" It was funny, but kind of difficult to explain to a five year old.

Great pictures, and great installment!:thumbsup2 I have to say that like the girls i used to get scared on Snow White it was just dark, scary, and unfamiliar. Can't wait to here about Chef Mickey's I love that restuarant!

Honestly, the witch kind of scared me on Snow White too.......it was just a little too dark and sudden I think. They both recovered quickly though.

We took the monorail over to the Contemporary, and we were a bit early, so we wandered around a few of the gift shops and make a pressed quarter with Tinkerbelle on it.

Then we decided we'd head to Chef Mickey's and at least get in line to check in. We ended up being the third family to check in. The family picture here turned out pretty good, and we did end up buying it, but I haven't scanned it yet, so you may have to wait until I get the photopass cd to see it ;) .

We got seated at our table, and it was in a good location, very close to the door the characters came out of. We saw Donald first.

This was the ONE and only time that a character got near Addy (and, as you'll see from the soon, it was only because she didn't realize he was there)

Next came Mickey and Pluto............

Finally came Goofy and Minnie.

We actually ended up seeing all of the characters more than once, but we didn't take many pictures the second time around because Addy was so upset. We ended up taking turns carrying her off to the buffet when they came around so she would get upset. We did get a few more cute pictures with Donald, in fact, most people are saying that the upcoming picture is their favorite of DH from the entire trip.

As for the food here, it was just ok. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. Honestly, I can't remember much of what I ate here, so it couldn't have been very memorable. The desserts, however, were very good. They were also pretty cute as some were decorated up for Halloween.

This is cheesecake and a Mickey oreo thing.........I didn't particularly care for the actual oreo (it got kind of soggy), but the chocolate mousse stuff on top was REALLY good.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld078.jpg

This is chocolate cake, carrot cake, a key lime tart and another oreo thing. I have to say, the key lime tart was the BEST thing from this entire meal. It was YUMMY! In fact, on our way out, my mom had to walk by the dessert buffet and grab one more to go :rotfl: .

The other thing that was really fun at Chef Mickey's was the napkin twirling. Anna absolutely loved this. I think it's probably a good way to break up the sitting time for younger kids. Anna is really good about this in restaurants, but I can already tell you that Addy won't be, and things like this will be a blessing.

Oooo carrot cake...MY FAVE!!! I have never ate at chef mickeys, but I am hoping that when dh made adr's for dec that he put it in there just for the simple fact that I love character meals! I love minnie mouse! Not that I don't love mickey b/c I do. I am a huge character person! :goodvibes I feel bad for the little one being so scared by those characters. I can't imagine being terrified by them, but I guess when they are way bigger than you...then its scary. I can't wait to hear more! I love all the pics...so cute!

We are doing Chef Mickey's on our first night too-a good way to DIVE into Disney!

We really enjoyed Chef Mickey's. The food was good, and the character interaction was great. Even with an upset little one, they still were great with Anna. As for being scared, to be honest, I thought that Anna would be the one to be upset.........she's really timid. I never imagined that it would be Addy. Then, I thought maybe it was just because she was so tired because we'd had to be up so early and she hadn't had a nap. Turned out in future days that this was no the case..........she was just terrified!

Chef Mickey's is so much fun! Your oldest DD looks to be having the time of her life!

I think she felt that way the entire trip. She was so excited, and she had to hug all the characters. If you watch the pictures, you'll see that hugs are pretty much her "pose" with the characters. We even have a picture of her from 1900 Park Fare hugging the wicked stepmother :lmao: . The stepmother stayed very in character and just looked at her like, "what in the heck are you doing little girl?!?!?!"

Honestly, the biggest tip that I have for you is to stick with naps. The one day that Addy didn't have a nap (the first day), it was pretty awful. The other days, she went back to the hotel with my mom and had a nap in the afternoons......those days went much better. We were lucky to have my mom along because I know our older DD would have been really upset if she'd had to leave the parks everyday.

However, I'm so glad that we had her with us because I know there were things that she did enjoy. As a family, that type of memory is what I really want to have for them when they get older :lovestruc .

We really did enjoy Chef Mickey's. We got quite a few good pictures throughout the trip. Anna turned into quite the poser as you'll see soon :) .

At first I had thought Henry could just nap in the stroller, but the more I looked at our plans and thought about it, the more I thought an afternoon break/nap would be wise. You've confirmed it! :goodvibes

I am totally with you on the memory thing! I am looking forward to seeing Henry's reactions to everything and recalling them over and over again. :cloud9:

I had hoped that Addy might nap in the stroller too, but she never did.....not once. However, part of the problem could have been that the stroller we brought didn't recline. Are you bringing your own stroller or renting one there? Even if the stroller we had did recline, I think there might have just been too much going on for her to sleep. She wanted to watch everything and take it all in :) .

After dinner at Chef Mickey's we took the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom and then got on a bus to head back to the hotel. Poor Addy was so tired that she fell asleep on the bus. While we were on the bus, we called the front desk to find out our room assignments

Once we got to the rooms (we ended up with nice, adjoining rooms), we called to get our luggage delivered. It took a while for it to get there, so Anna and I decided to take a walk. Ok, this is kind of embarassing, but I'll share anyway because, for anyone who's never stayed there, this resort is huge. We went looking for a quiet pool, and did manage to find one, but then we couldn't find our way back to room. To make matters even worse, I couldn't remember the room number, which means that I was looking for landmarks and the whole place looks very similar. We probably wandered around for about 30-45 minutes before we finally found the room.

Here are a few pictures from our room. We were in the Magnolia Bend section in the Acadian house.

My mom kept Addy for the night because Anna insisted that we needed to go swimming. I have to tell you that while it was really warm during the day (about 86 degrees), it cooled off a lot in the evenings, and it was pretty cold to swim, but Anna wanted to anyway, so we did. We were in one of the quiet pools, and there were only about 4 other people. We only stayed for about 20 minutes since it was so cold. We basically had race back to the room because we were so cold :rotfl: .

Once we got back to the room, DH and I settled in and watched a little TV. Anna had a quick bath and then decided to play her Nintendo DS for a while. However, I looked over about 5 minutes later, and she was just OUT  . It was pretty cute because she was still holding the stylus for the DS and everything. DH and I also went over the Magic Kingdom map to try to find all the rides we wanted to make sure that we didn't miss the next day. Shortly thereafter, we went to bed because we knew we had an early breakfast reservation the next day at the Crystal Palace.

We never stayed at port orleans, but it looks nice. I've heard some good and some bad things about it. I think thats true of any place and anybody you ask though. Thats so cute that she just passed out holding her game. I love it! Can't wait for another update:):thumbsup2

Ok, both DDs are sleeping right now, so I'm going to try to get the post about our Crystal Palace breakfast done.

We had an 8:05 ADR because I wanted to get into the park before it was open. We had to wait a little bit for a bus, but had no problems being admitted to the park once we arrived. I don't think they even asked for our confirmation number..........although, I know they had a list at other breakfasts we went to, so they probably did here too and I just don't remember :confused3 .

I took a few pictures of the fall decorations on the way in.

I though it was really cool too see Main Street with so few people. Although DH is NOT a big fan of getting up early, especially on vacation, he did agree that this was pretty cool, and we will be doing it on our January trip (more about that later ;) ).

Once again, the food was just ok here. Nothing too spectacular, but still good. We did have a good waitress who made sure that our drink glasses were always full and that the dirty plates got removed quickly. I also enjoyed this meal because we're not really big breakfast eaters at home, but we all love breakfast food. The one thing my mom did really enjoy was the puffed french toast. I tried the breakfast lasagna (I think I was the only one at our table that did), but I honestly didn't really like it. The other great thing about the buffets is that Addy could eat whatever she wanted. She is a really good eater.........in fact, she usually eats more than Anna, so this was an important factor for us.

Ok, on to the characters. Pooh and the other characters here are my favorites. In fact, Anna's nursery was decorated in Pooh. We were pretty disappointed initially because Eyeore came while we were at the buffet, so we didn't get to see him. My mom waited at the table though, and she did get our autograph books signed. We planned to wait for him to come back around, but in the end it took too long, and we never did get to see him.

Next came Piglet who is one of my favorite character at Disney. Who wouldn't love a cute little pig? Anna was all about her autographs, so we got those done first, and then we took some pictures.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld092.jpg

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld093.jpg

Shorlty after Piglet came Pooh. We had seen him coming, so we postponed a second trip to the buffet to wait for him.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld095.jpg

After Pooh came around, we made another quick trip through the buffet, and then they started the parade. Anna was really excited, but insisted that I needed to go with her, so I did. I wanted her to enjoy herself, and there were a lot of other parents doing it, so I didn't feel quite as embarrassed. Unfortunately, or maybe luckily for me :rotfl: , there are no pictures of this.

We had to wait quite a while, but Tigger finally made his way to our table. DH is a Tigger fan, so he had his picture taken with Tigger too. As you may be noticing, Anna is doing her hugging (her picture pose :) ). She had to get her autograph book signed first though.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld099.jpg

Eyeore still hadn't made it back to our side of the room by this point, and we were ready to get into the park (which had already opened), so we decided to just go ahead and go. Before we left though, I had to take some pictures with the topiaries. I love the way the Crystal Palace is decorated, and I just think these are cool.

While I did feel that the characters here were a little rushed, I still think that characters meals are the way to go, especially if you have younger children. Anna really didn't want to wait in the lines to see the characters at the parks. We did a few times, but not very many because she was more interested in doing other things. She didn't want to wait an hour in line to see Mickey Mouse when she could be riding Splash Mountain again :thumbsup2 !

We did like Port Orleans, but we had some problems with the buses. I think a good part of this is because but Port Orleans (Riverside and French Quarter) share buses. We actually ended up missing our breakfast ADR at the Animal Kingdom because the buses kept filling up before we could get on. I think you're right though........there are good and bad things about every resort. We were able to upgrade to the Contemporary for our January trip, so I'm really excited about that.

I agree, it was really nice to see Main Street without all the people. We got a pretty good photopass picture too, and I finally got my CD ordered today, so hopefully I'll have it sometime next week.

Yea...the bus system at disney can make your break your day. I hate waiting forever in the morning for a bus, but I hate it even worse when I am dead tired after being in the parks all day. We never seem to have a ton of trouble with buses, but there are a few times we've waited about 20 minutes for a bus here or there. I always wondered what the topiaries looked like at CP when it wasn't christmas time and now you answered my question. Hehe. Everytime I've ever seen them they've had them decked out for the holidays. I love the picture of you and the two girls in front of the topiaries. Where was dad though? Would of been a cute family pic. :thumbsup2 I'm suprised that eyore didn't make his way back around. Usually your waiter or waitress will make sure that you've gotten your pictures and autographs with everybody and if you haven't they'll make it a point to get that character to your table. And you went at a less busy time than us. We were there on Christmas morning for pete sakes. So thast kinda weird to me. Hopefully you'll get to see him in jan though. :) When we have a baby its nursery is going to be winnie the pooh too! Was it the classic winnie or just regular?

Honestly, I'm pretty sure that DH was in the bathroom when we took that picture  . He wanted to make sure that he wouldn't need to go when we were ready to go on the rides.

Our waitress did a good job keeping our drinks full and taking plates away, but she wasn't overly friendly. I don't think she ever even asked if we'd seen the characters. I don't think that she said much at all :confused3 . Also, even though it was a slower season, the restaurant was completely full. Eyeore wasn't even close to getting back to our table when we finally gave up and left. Anna insisted that we needed to ride Dumbo, and I knew we better do it early.

Our nursery was regular pooh.......I wanted something that was a little more colorful. Addy shares a room with Anna, and Anna's room is done completely in Princesses, so that's what Addy's crib is too. We got lucky and found a really cute Princess crib set that matched the room pretty well.

Hey guys........sorry there was no update yesterday, but we had a business dinner, and my mom was watching the girls. About half way through, she called and said that we needed to meet her at the Emergency Room  . Anna's ear infection had come back, and instead of getting better with the antibiotic the doctor's office gave her on Thursday, it kept getting worse! They've since given her a different antibiotic and Tylenol with codeine. Hopefully she'll get to feeling better soon. I'll try to post an update this afternoon though.

Hi and :welcome: . I don't know what it is with the ear infections because she literally hasn't had one in almost 5 years. My mom, who is a nurse, says she's never seen one this bad :(. It's just hard to watch her in that much pain and not be able to do anything about it.

No, it wasn't a very good weekend for us, but it sounds like you had a lot of fun. DH isn't much for surprises, and I really wish he was sometimes. We don't have any big cities close to us though (the nearest one is about 3 hours), so it's harder for us to find things like that to do anyway.

As soon as we got done at Crystal Palace, we headed straight for Dumbo. The park had been open for 15 or 20 minutes. The line for Dumbo was already at least 30 minutes long. I've never ridden Dumbo before, and Anna was really excited, so we went ahead and got in line. It was the ONLY line we waited in this long (well, except when DH and I waited for Space Mountain--but that's another story). I ended up riding in one elephant with Anna, and Addy rode with Adam.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld111.jpg

DH had the camera, so, unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of them. Anna enjoyed it, but she wanted to be up as high as possible the whole time, and she was really excited when she realized that the lever made it go up higher. The lever in DH's elephant didn't work though, so they were just kind of stuck however it wanted them to go.

Once we got off of Dumbo, we headed for the carousel and got on right away. The pictures aren't very good because Anna didn't want to ride on the outside horses, so it's kind of hard to see us. Here they are though.

After the carousel, we went to see Mickey's Philharmagic because the wait was only about 5 minutes. Mom, Adam, and Anna really liked it, but I missed most of it because Addy kept stealing my 3-D glasses. She HATED the loud parts and the windy parts, so I just let her keep this glasses in an attempt to keep her distracted. We were on the end of a row, so we could have left if she had gotten really upset, but she did ok as long as she got to keep the glasses. I guess I'll get to see it the next time we're there ;) .

After we saw the Philharmagic, we headed for the Winnie the Pooh ride. I had never been on this, and I was really excited because, as I said before, I LOVE Winnie the Pooh. DH actually managed to get some pretty good pictures here too.....the first few I took before we got on the ride.

By the time we got off of Pooh, Addy was getting tired, so my mom decided to head back to the hotel with her so they could both have a little nap. She said that she would meet us back for supper because we had reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table and she was really excited about eating in the castle.

I took this picture on the way toward the front.....

and one on Main Street.

As we were walking to the front Anna insisted that she needed a princess hat, so my mom took her into one of the shops on Main Street and got her one.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld139.jpg

Anna saw Chip and Dale in the courtyard where you first walk in, and Anna wanted to see them, so she and I got in line while DH walked my mom and Addy to the bus. The only pictures I have of this are on the Photopass CD, so I'll post some when I get it. However, none of them were very good.......the princess hat that Anna insisted on getting was kind of in the way ;) .

Aww...we've never rode Dumbo...probably because of the lines. Something to look forward to when we have kids I guess. Lol. I don't really have a desire to ride it and I'm sure dh dosen't either. Lol. The princess hat is super cute! I have the princess mickey ears...I had them embroidered on the back and it says engaged 12-16-06 and dh's say the same thing, but his aren't princess ears of course :rotfl2: Oooo you had dinner at CRT...thats awesome thats where dh proposed. Did you see a proposal that night? I was hoping to see one at breakfast last year, but no such luck. Can't wait to hear all about it!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I never really felt the need to ride Dumbo either until I had Anna. The line was crazy though.....however, it was much better than the lines we saw later in the day.

We ended up getting Mickey ears later in the trip and my mom had them embroidered for us. Honestly, I think they're part of what helped us win a dream (that doesn't happen until several days from now though :) )..........I guess that's a little teaser about what's to come.

We did actually see a proposal at dinner that night. It was really sweet, and the whole restaurant clapped. DH and I are going back there during our January trip as well, and I'm hoping we'll get a better seat, maybe close to one of the windows.

Thanks.......Addy actually had a similar one on it (I think with Snow White), but you can't see it in any of the pictures. I think there might be some pictures in the next installment where you can see it. I'm going to try to get another update up once I get the girls in bed.

Once we DH made sure that my mom and Addy were safely on the bus, and Anna and I had seen Chip and Dale (photopass pics to come later), we decided we needed to share a little snack. We used a couple of snack credits to get a funnel cake (DH and Anna love these) and a Tinkerbell slush. The funnel cake was really good.....partly because they made it fresh while we were standing there, and the slush, which we ordered mostly because something frozen sounded good, was just a little too sour for our tastes.

After that, we headed for Anna's first "thrill" ride.....Splash Mountain. I honestly had thought we might have to coax/bribe her to go on this, but she'd seen people riding it, and she was begging to go on it. The wait said 20 minutes, but I don't honestly think that we waited that long. We talked to a very nice older couple that lived in a town DH goes through often in his truck, and that helped kep Anna entertained while we waited. We rode for the first time, and she absolutely LOVED it! I was shocked but glad because I knew that meant there were several other rides that she'd go on that I hadn't expected. We got off, grabbed a fastpass, and headed for Big Thunder Mountain.

We also had a very minimal wait for this...maybe 15 minutes. It was really cute because right before you start going, it says something about being the wildest ride in the west, and all through the ride, Anna kept saying, "It's wild, just like me!" :lmao: It was so cute, mostly because Anna is not, in the least bit, wild.

By the time we got off Big Thunder, our fastpasses for Splash Mountain were good, so we headed back over there. This time, we got sat in the very front, and I was on the inside. I got SOAKED!!! (I do have the ride picture for this, but I have to scan it to post it.) The really funny part about this, and I have to admit, this is pretty embarrassing..........I had khaki colored capris on. Not a big deal in and of itself, but when we got off DH pulled me to the side and said, "What is on your underwear?" I was like, "What the heck are you talking about?!?!?!?!" He said, "You're pants are soaked, and I can see your underwear through them!" I was so embarrassed because, never even considering the fact that I might get soaked later in the day, had put on blue Tinkerbelle underwear :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: !!!! I made him walk behind me for a while until I felt a little drier......or just quite caring.

Anna wanted to ride Big Thunder again, so we grabbed fastpasses for that and headed over to Adventureland. There was NO line for Pirates of the Carribean, so we decided to go ahead and ride, even though I had an inkling that Anna probably wouldn't enjoy it. In the back of my mind, I kept replaying the first time I rode Pirates.......I was 8 and bawled the entire time we were in the que. I was scared to death, but I was fine once we got on the ride. Well, since we didn't have to linger in the que, I thought Anna would probably be okay once we got on the ride. She WASN'T!!!! She kept hiding her face in my lap, and, as soon as we got off, she started yelling, "I AM NEVER GOING ON THAT RIDE AGAIN!!!" We told her that she'd been very brave to go on it and we were proud of her and wouldn't make her ride it again.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld144.jpg

The Jungle Cruise had about a 45 minute wait, so we grabbed fastpasses for it (the starting time for our BTMR had passed) and headed back to ride Big Thunder again. Anna wanted some ice cream, so we grabbed a Mickey Ice Cream sandwich.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld142.jpg
Anna and DH enjoyed it (I only had a bite....I'm not a big fan of ice cream sandwiches), but they both liked the Mickey bar we had later in the week better.

We we got back to Big Thunder Mountain, it was having technical difficulties and was closed. Anna was REALLY disappointed because she had enjoyed it too. I told her that we'd ride it again at MNSSHP.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld145.jpg

It was still too early to use our Jungle Cruise fastpasses, so we watched a little of the Dreams Come True parade.

He loves Stitch

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld152.jpg

By then, it was time for our Jungle Cruise. I have to say, we were not very impressed. As the guide was telling his corny jokes and DH kept looking at me like, "You've got to be kidding me  ." When we got off, I explained that it was supposed to be like that, but DH still just thought it was dumb.

We had a little time left, so we headed over to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz Lightyear. It was ok, but I have to say that we enjoyed Toy Story Mania later in the week much more. With Buzz, it's about impossible to tell where you're shooting and if you're hitting the targets or if someone else is.

By the time we were done, my mom had called to say that she and Addy were on their way back, so we headed to the front to meet them. Once we met up with them, it was time to head for our ADRs at Cinderella's Royal Table. Although I had not heard the best things about the food here, we were still excited just to eat in the castle.

We checked in and got called right on time. Addy actually went to Cinderella, and we actually got a pretty cute picture of the girls and Cinderella. Since there were five in our party (they counted Addy too), we got two portrait packages, so we also have a family picture with Cinderella. I promise those will get posted as soon as the photopass cd is here, which is supposed to be Thursday.

I thought it was pretty cool to walk up the stairs, and I snapped a couple of pics while we were getting seated.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld165.jpg

Our waiter came quickly and took our drink orders while we checked out the menus. When he returned, we ordered. DH and I both got the BLT salad for our appetizers and my mom got the corn and crab soup. DH really lilked the salad, and I thought it was ok. My mom LOVED the soup. We all enjoyed the pretzel bread and the honey mustard butter as well.

For dinner, DH had prime rib
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld167.jpg

I had the tortellini
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld166.jpg

And my mom had the pork tenderloin (she ordered it well done instead of the medium they usually serve it)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld168.jpg

Anna had the kids chicken nuggets
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld169.jpg

Addy got the complimentary buttered pasta which she absolutely devoured :) . Like I said, she's a good eater.

We all enjoyed our entrees, but DH really liked mine more than he liked his. I think he ate more of the tortellini than I did :) . We're actually returnng to CRT in January so that he can get his own tortellini. My mom enjoyed the pork, and I had a few bites and it was pretty good.

We ordered our desserts just as the wishing ceremony was about to start. Anna was really into it and thought it was pretty cool. Addy was ok with the fairy godmother because she was at a pretty good distance.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld172.jpg

The mice went around to all the tables after the ceremony and were taking pictures. Since the table are pretty close together here, I was to the handler and asked if I could just bring Anna to them so that Addy wouldn't get upset (she still wasn't thrilled when they were at the table behind her, but if we could keep her attention she was ok).

After the ceremony, we got our desserts. My mom and I both had the chocolate buckle
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld175.jpg

DH had the sorbet
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld177.jpg

and Anna had the kids sundae.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld174.jpg

DH loved his sorbet, and mom and I thought ours was ok. We were both pretty full, so neither of us ate too much of it. Our table was also given a complimentary extra dessert (we were told it was because they had MNSSHP that night).
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld176.jpg
However, we were all so full that I don't think any of us ate any of it.

After we finished dinner, we headed back to the bus. We saw a lot of people dressed in some pretty interesting costumes, so we were really looking forward to our Halloween party on Thursday. Anna and Addy fell asleep almost immediately after their baths, and DH and I watch a little tv and then went to sleep too.

Up next...........Animal Kingdom!

Aww dinner looked pretty good at CRT. I love the mice...they are so adorable! When we went there for dinner the one looked at my promise ring and thought it was my engagement ring (was on the same finger) and she kissed my hand. Matt was worried she was going to give away the engagement b/c they came around before dessert and thats when he did it. We did breakfast at the castle this past trip, which is mostly the princesses. We met Alice, belle, snow white, aurora and of course cinderella was downstairs in the lobby for pictures. I've heard that the food isn't that great at the castle either, but I still love to eat there just because its the castle and its pretty cool. Your desserts look so yummy! Did you do the dinning plan? I can't wait to hear about animal kingdom. I love animal kingdom, but its always like 10-15 degrees hotter there it seems and also we always pick like the hottest day to go it seems like. Loved the pics can't wait to see and hear more! :thumbsup2

OMG look at that eyeball dessert. I wonder what it was...a cake maybe? My DS would have loved that. :goodvibes Those chicken nuggest look yum! I'd probably order that with a side of buttered tortellini. I wonder if they'd let me? I am not much for breakfast in the castle but the dinner menus don't appeal to me either. Dessert looks good though. :thumbsup2

We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan and we will be again in January. We did have some credits left over, but to me it's worth it to be able to eat where ever we want and not have to think about what we can "afford" to order. It will probably also work better in January because it will just be me and DH and we have a more set plan of action........we know what we really want to see and do.

I had actually tried to get us breakfast reservations for the castle, but they were completely full on the days that would work for us. The food was ok, and I wasn't real thrilled with the appetizer choices, but the desserts were definitely good.

We got off to a rough start at Animal Kingdom, but it turned out to be an ok day.

I think there was some sort of cake in the eyeball dessert. Anna didn't really eat much of her chicken nuggets, but Addy ate some along with her pasta and seemed to enjoy them. Of course, she enjoys most everything  .

I agree that the pics in front of the fountain were nice. Addy is so silly though. The minute I've got her she gets all comfortable and the thumb goes automatically in the mouth and her hand usually goes in my hair. Then, as you can probably tell, the minute she goes to dad she's trying to run off and play.

Ok, we're having a pretty easy day here, so I'm going to try to get an update done now and maybe another one later.

On this day, we didn't get up quite as early because our ADR for Tusker House wasn't until 10:10. We still gave ourselves over an hour of travel time, and we thought that would be enough. Here are a few pics of me and Addy before we left the hotel room........don't mind my crazy hair.........it wasn't completely dry yet.

Well, once we were all dressed, we headed for the bus stop.........there were a ton of people there, and it turns out they were all waiting to go to Animal Kingdom :scared1: . A bus finally got there, but it got completely full before we could even get close. Another bus came, but it was almost completely full before it even got to our stop. We didn't get on it either :confused3 . The driver called on the radio and told them to send another bus, but it was probably a good 20 minutes before it go there. We did get on that one, but by the time we got to Animal Kingdom, it was almost 10:30.........since we didn't know where Tusker House was, I figured there was no point of even trying to check in late. I was really frustrated, and the park was really busy, so we even talked about going to a different park, but we had Yak & Yeti reservations for that afternoon, and Adam was really excited about eating there, so we decided to stay.

I took a few pictures of the Tree of Life when we walked in, and Anna looked at me and said, "Mommy, why are you taking pictures of that tree?" Once we got closer and she could see all the animals in it, she understood.

Once we got oriented, we all decided that we were starving! However, Adam and I knew that we needed to ride Kali and Everest before my mom left because we weren't sure if Anna would ride them with us. We headed to Kali, and Anna decided she would ride with us, so mom and Addy waited while we went on. There was basically no wait. We rode with a nice family, so that was good too. However, as expected, we got soaked! It wasn't very warm yet that morning, so it was a bit chilly when we got off. We all enjoyed the ride though.

Once we got off, we knew we needed to go somewhere that we could get some food. We ended up at the first place that we came to.........which I'm pretty sure was Restaurantosaurus. DH had a double cheeseburger and fries, I had a cheeseburger and fries, my mom had a hot dog and fries, and Anna got the chicken nuggets again. We got applesauce and grapes for her and fed the applesauce and a couple chicken nuggets to Addy. Anna also shared some fries and the chocolate cake that we all got for dessert. The food was ok, but mom really liked the topping bar they had for the hot dog (it had sauerkraut and stuff on it). Once we all got some food in us, we all felt a little better.

Adam ran over to Everest and got us Fastpasses so we could ride before my mom left............I don't think Anna was tall enough to ride this, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have anyway. Then, he met us at Dinosaur. The standby line was short, so we decided to give the baby swap a try. This is the one and only time we did this during our trip, but it worked really well. Adam and I rode first (Anna didn't want to), and when we got off, Adam rode with my mom (because Anna was insisting that I had to stay with her).

By the time we got off, Adam and I basically had to sprint across the park before our fastpases expired! Mom and the girls ended up waiting for us in the same restaurant that we had eaten lunch in, mostly because there was good air conditioning and it was getting pretty warm. Adam and I got there with about 5 minutes to spare (thank goodness Adam has a good sense of direction), and we LOVED it! I have to say, even though I knew that it went backwards, that part was a little disconcerting. Dh didn't know that it did that, and he was pretty surprised! We did buy the picture for this one, but, once again, I haven't scanned it yet.

By the time we got done riding and made it back to my mom, Addy was getting a little cranky, so she decided to go back to the hotel. We had an early supper scheduled (4:30), so she just decided that she and Addy would just eat at the hotel and see us when we got back. We all walked up to the front with them.

Once we got them safely to the bus, Anna decided she wanted to see some characters, so we headed for Camp Mickey Minnie. We did take a few pictures first though.

By the time we got done walking the trails, it was time to use our fastpasses, and we knew that we'd better head that way or we wouldn't make it our ADRs in time.

We have TONS of pictures from the Safari...........DH and I kept passing the camera back and forth because we were sitting on opposite sides.

By the time we got off the Safari, it was time to head for our ADR at Yak & Yeti. We had heard lots of great things about this restaurant, so we were really looking forward to it. I had to take a couple more picturs of the Tree on the way there.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld327.jpg

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld328.jpg

I have to say, this restaurant has AWESOME themeing. It is very nicely decorated. We were seating immediately, and we could see the parade that was just starting outside one of the windows.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld337.jpg

This is a copy of the drink menu........DH had a beer, and I think I had the Bonsai Blast (the waitress recommended it) which was pretty good. I was wishing that I had gotten something frozen though.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld334.jpg

At this point, I was starting to not feel so great. I had been having some real problems with acid reflux/ulcer before we left, but it had been better, so I wasn't really expecting any problems. We went ahead and ordered. I had the fried green beans for an appetizer and DH had the egg rolls. Both were VERY good.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld336.jpg

For dinner, Adam had the steak and shrimp (at my recommendation from the DISboards :) ), and I had the sweet and sour chicken. Anna had the kids chicken nuggets again.......she's really not a very adventurous eater.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld339.jpg

For dessert, I had the fried wontons (thanks OneTreeHillAddict :) ) and DH had the Mango pie. He had really wanted the brownie sundae, but it has nuts in it and he is extremely allergic. Anna had a kids sundae again. She really didn't eat much here and we ended up taking it back to the resort with us.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld342.jpg

DH declared this the best meal of the trip..........even at the end of the week when we'd eated everywhere else. It really was VERY good. It was the one place that he's asked to go back to in January. Since my stomach was a little upset, I didn't really get to eat as much as I wanted to anyway, so I'm more than happy to go back.

By the time we were done eating, I was feeling pretty awful. However, earlier in the day we had promised Anna that we would go back to Dinorama so that she could play a few of the carnival games (DH and I had wanted to ride Primeval Whirl, but it was closed). I took a few pictures on the way over (of course).

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld346.jpg

We told her that she could play 4 games, but if that she didn't win anything that was still all she got to do because the games were a little pricey. She didn't win in the first two, but she finally won on the third try, so she was happy with that.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%203/DisneyWorld350.jpg

I also took a few pictures while we were there.

Once we were done here, it was definitely time to go. We headed for the buses and luckily didn't have to wait very long. By the time we got back to the hotel, my stomach was killing me. This is the only time during the trip that it go this bad. I ended up spending the rest of the evening laying in bed with a heating pad on my stomach. It was almost like Addy could tell I wasn't feeling very well because she was very cuddly, which she hardly ever is.

Mom, DH, and Anna walked over to the main building to get a snack and fill our mugs. Also, mom had gotten Anna a charm bracelet and she wanted Anna to pick out a charm.

We did get a few cute pictures of Addy before bedtime.

On Thursday, we had an ealry breakfast scheduled for 8:00 at Ohana. We had been really looking forward to this because DH's favorite character is Stitch. Luckily I was feeling better by this morning.

We took a bus, which it took us a little while to catch, to the Magic Kingdom and then hopped on the monorail to the Polynesian. We got checked in, took our picture (we really didn't care for this one), and got seated very quickly.

First they brought out the bread
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%204/DisneyWorld362.jpg

and the fruit
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/Disney%204/DisneyWorld361.jpg.
This is probably some of the best fruit we had while we were at Disney. They brought out the platter shortly thereafter. It had sausage, bacon, eggs.....the usual breakfast stuff and they brought Mickey waffles around. The waffles were fresh and wonderful. I have to honestly say that this is one of the best breakfasts we had. DH and I also liked that it was family style rather than the buffets that most are.

We got some good pictures...once again trying to keep Addy away from the characters.

After breakfast, we decidd to head to the hotel for a little down time since I hadn't been feeling well. Mom, Addy, and I took a nap in mom's room. We tried to convince Anna to take one too since we had the MNSSHP that night, but she wasn't interested. She ended up playing under the covers and falling asleep anyway :rotfl: . When Addy woke up from her nap, I took her over to Adam and slept a little longer. By the time I woke up again, it was time to get ready to go to the Magic Kingdom for Anna & Adam's Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique ADRs.

Wow! I go to work all day and don't check the dis and I come back and you've wrote tons of updates. Thats awesome! :thumbsup2 Looks like you had a great time at AK. You had pretty good luck on the safari too...what time of day did you go on that? We didn't see nearly as many animals and you guys did. That baby elephant is so freakin' cute! Sorry your stomach wasn't feeling the best...I have issues with mine to although I stopped going to the dr before they could diagnose me b/c I was sick of being a science experiment. They did lots of tests and I went to about three different docs and nobody knew what was wrong so I just live with it now. Maybe someday when I get the courage I'll go back and have them figure it out. Most of the time its under control but every now and again it gets so bad I could cry. I think its ulcers b/c I stress about stuff that I really shouldn't stress about, but whatever. I love all the pictures! The bread and fruit at ohana look delicious! I would like to try eating there sometime if we aren't doing it this next trip(dh emailed his boss today asking for time off...no email back yet, but keep your fingers crossed:)) I haven't ate at yak and yetti either, but it sounded pretty good. The pictures of addy before bed are adorable I just want to squeeze her little cheeks....so cute! Can't wait to hear more! :goodvibes

Love the scuba pictures! Awww, look at your's and Anna's face paint. So cute. I might let mine do this. Is it expensive? Wow! You guys saw a ton of animals on Safari! Look at all those gators. Geez. And the baby elephant with it's mommy. So cute! I love the babies. That's a beautiful picture you took of the Tree Of Life. We loved the Yak n Yeti! How cool to have a seat where you can see the parade going on! I never even thought about that. Ya know what's funny? Our DH's had the same exact food. (Same app & entree) So how did you like the fried wontons???? OMG I would do crazy things to get me one of those right now. I hope you can order that to go. Those pics of Everest....the park looks empty!? I don't think I've ever seen it like that. I wonder how much longer Primeval Whirl will be closed? I wonder if it has anything to do with that CM getting killed on it? I've never ridden it but DS and DH did last Summer and they said it shakes you to death...that it's really jerky. Of course Dinosaur is too. I plan to bypass Dinosaur this time. Addy's bedtime pictures are so cute! The shoe thing is too cute! Your food pics are awesome by the way!

Yep, I was busy yesterday. The little one was being pretty cooperative, so I figured I better get it done while I could. It was mid afternoon, probably around 3 or 3:30 when we went on the safari. The baby elephant was my favorite part :).

I've had stomach problems for a long time too. Some doctors call it an ulcer, some call it IBS. Whatever I guess.........I just started some new medicine for it, so I guess we'll see how that goes.

I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed for you. I can't wait until you know for sure whether or not you get to go!

We really like both Ohana and Yak & Yeti. We're going back to both of them in January.

Addy definitely has chubby little cheeks. Both of the girls are such sweethearts, and I can't help but love showing them off. Most of them time they're pretty good kids too. Addy has quite the temper though. If you make her mad, you're going to hear about it...........well, you and anyone within a one mile radius :lmao: .

I hadn't heard about the CM getting killed on Primeval Whirl. I just thought that it was close for refurbishment. If it is jerkier than Dinosaur, that is pretty bad! The baby elephant was my favorite part of the Safari.........it was just so cute to see him tagging along after his mommy :lovestruc .

We loved Yak & Yeti, and the wontons were AWESOME!!! DH was just going to order the shrimp, but I talked him into the steak and shrimp, and he was really glad that I did. He pretty much cleaned his plate. I'm glad you think the food pictures are good. We didn't get pictures at every meal, but I intend to when we go in January. I figure it will be easier when it's just us. With the girls, I was too busy trying to get things cut up so they could start eating.

Yeah, I don't know what it is with Addy and shoes. She does it at home too, and then we spend like an hour searching for the match because she's pretty good at hiding them.

They both seem very sweet! I love sweet little kids...its normal to have chubby cheeks when they are little...I think its some kind of rule or something so that everyone can say they want to squeeze them. Hehe. Also I know about tempers...I got mine from my dad. Don't worry...I started to get it under control around age 22 and I'm 24 now. :rotfl2: It still can flare, but for the most part I can diffuse a situation before it gets to the point where I am super mad. Not to mention half the time it isn't worth being mad. Life is to short. My dad had cancer about three yrs ago...he is in remission, but I def rethink going to bed mad and grudges and being mad about stupid stuff. Sometimes its just not worth it. For instance dh's brother in law was very rude to dh's mom when she went to visit them and their little ones in mississippi. Long story short he slammed the door in her face and told her to get out of his house. I just feel like if he was a bigger man they could have talked about their differences and moved on and now there there is tension in the family...its just not cool. Dh's mom does a lot for them (for anyone she is very kind) she...along with her husband have flown them in to town on more than one occasion. Christmas, my wedding, thanksgiving. Let them stay at their house (all of this for free and didn't even ask for anything in return) and even payed for the hotel when they came for my wedding and she buys those three grandbabies so many clothes and not just a wal mart special she buys ralph lauren, gymboree (she gets incredible deals on these so she isn't just throwing the money down but still.) I just think that he isn't really in the position to be treating them like poo when they have done so much for him and dh's sister. I guess thats an example of someone who didn't grow out of their temper, but then again he hasn't grown up either:rotfl2: Have a great day I'm off to get ready for work!

I definitely think that both of my babies are sweethearts, but I'm a little biased :lovestruc . Addy definitely gets her temper from her daddy.........she looks just like him, and she acts just like him  . He's 28, and I'm not sure he has his temper completely under control.

I definitely agree with holding grudges. It's not worth it in the long run. Everyone makes mistakes, and the best thing you can do is work through mistakes. Sometimes taking the time to work through them can actually make the relationship stronger.

We had kind of a rough day today.......I took Anna back to the doctor's office, and they think that her eardrum ruptured :guilty: . The infection isn't getting better, and now she's having a lot of drainage from it, and she's still having a lot of pain. They're making a referral to a specialist, but I have no idea how long it will take to get her into see him. I just wish that I could do something to help her.

I want to start this by saying that I had gotten a little nervous after reading several reports saying that the BBB in the castle was not the place to go. I had really wanted this to be special for Anna, and she is very sensitive, so I knew she would notice if something wasn't quite right. I have to say, and I'm VERY glad that I can say this, it turned out to be wrong in our case. Our FGIT was wonderful, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We got into the castle to check in, and they told us that they were running about 30 minutes behind. The place was packed, and they kind of encouraged us to go walk around a little and come back. We decided to go find some popcorn, and it ended up taking us almost the entire 30 minutes to find a place that we could get some.

Almost immediately when we got back, Anna was called to pick out her costume and accessories and go change. Before we could even finish getting her completely dressed, they were already calling her name to be made over.

The FGIT was named Laura and, as it turned out, happened to be from Kansas like us. We thought that was pretty cool. She was wonderful and ended up doing DH's Cool Dude when Anna was done. We have tons of pictures from this, and even more on the photopass cd.

I would definitely recommend requesting Laura at the Castle BBB. However, she's no longer there. She told us that she was going back home two weeks from the day we were there :( We couldn't have asked or a better experience, and Anna absolutely loves it. She can't wait to go back the next time we're at Disney. She was a little disappointed that she had to get the Tinkerbelle outfit, but we've promised her that the next time she can pick whatever dress and whatever hairdo she wants. Definitely a magical experience for us :wizard: .

When Anna was finished, Laura did Adam's cool dude. She even let Anna help, which was really cute. As you can tell by the look on his face, he was less than thrilled, but he knew Anna was excited about it, so he did it and didn't say anything.

I guess this is what comes from having two little girls, but he'll get used to it sooner or later :) . He loves his little girls, and he'd do anything for them. I think this only proves that. Laura let Anna help put the Mickey confetti in Adam's hair, so he ended up with a TON of it.

The Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique was agreat experience all the way around, and we will definitely be doing it again! After both Adam and Anna were finished, we headed to Town Hall to do the photo session. Luckily, we were eating at Tony's which is in the same building so we were able to keep track of time and things. I snapped a couple of pictures on the walk over.

We had seen him coming, so we postponed a second trip to the buffet to wait for him.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld094.jpg

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/tris2cute/Disney%20World/DisneyWorld095.jpg

I agree that the character meals are the way to go. My DS (6) loves them and DD (19 months) didn't mind them either. My DD has the same princess coat your daughter has on in this photo. Both your DD's are adorable.

That has to be the cutest tinker belle I've ever seen! How adorable. Things like this make me wish we had kids. Dh says all I have to do is give the word, but we've only been married 4 months so I think i'll wait a little longer before we give up our freedom hehe. Oh I still have a bad temper...I just have gotten better at knowing when it is flaring up. I used to keep it all bottled up and that can consume you so I try to talk to dh if i'm really mad, which I really was today b/c there is a good chance we can't go to disney and I'm annoyed b/c his dad is the president of the company and I'm not saying that should get us time off, but they just let a lady off to go see her grandbaby for like a week and she has been working at the company way shorter time than dh has so thats annoying for her to get that off and to be told well we don't know if you can have time off and hem and haw over it. Tell us point blank yes or no and quit stringing us along. So I did the treadmill for 25 minutes when I got home to get some of that anger out:goodvibes Might as well put it to good use. And your not bias they are both adorable! I'm glad you guys had a good experience at BBB b/c I've heard some bad things about that place, but I've also heard good things as well. That was very sweet of your dh to get his hair all glittery and gross for your daughter. I can't see my dad doing that, but thats probably b/c he is losing all his hair :lmao: I'm sure he would of back in the day when we went though had they had the bbb. Can't wait to hear about the party! :thumbsup2

Hi! Thank you so much for the comment about my DDs. The are definitely my little sweethearts. The character meals made life a lot easier for us. We did stand in line a couple of times to see characters, but DD #1 just wasn't really interested in that. She was much more entertained by riding the rides.

I know how hard it is when you work for family. My DH used to work for his parents, and it made me crazy. They treated him like crap and expected him to put in extra time with no regard to the fact that he had me and a baby at home. Honestly, I was so glad when he quit working for them. It made both of our lives a lot easier......many less arguments. I definitely think that they should let him off, and they definitely need to let you know one way or another. It's ridiculous to string you along like that.

DH is usually a pretty good sport about things. Considering that he didn't know Cinderella from Alice in Wonderland when we first got together, I think that he's made a lot of progress :rotfl: . I guess that's what happens when you have two little girls, especially one who is as much of a princess as Anna is.

Our FGIT was WONDERFUL, and I could definitely see how a bad one could ruin the experience together. I couldn't have asked for a nicer person. Plus, it was pretty cool that she was from the same state as us (still 3 hours away, but she did actually know where the tiny town we live in is).

Aww I love your photo pass pics. I love that the shirts match to...so cute! I think that dh and I should do a few matching shirts when we go...whenever that may be. Its not so much the fact that we work for his dad b/c its not a family business and his dad wasn't the one that gave him the job. He actually was working in the office doing odds and ends and the president of the company at the time told matt about a job opening and we discussed it and decided it would be a good thing for him to do. I wouldn't go back on it in a million years. It was the right choice. And about 99 percent of the time he dosen't answer to his dad who is now the president b/c we work in the field...he answers to whats called the superintendent of the job, which is basically the boss of a field office job, which is what dh is. A field office manager. But I get what your saying and it can be annoying to have his dad as the president. At least we get to go home for thanksgiving, which is a good thing b/c I miss my family like crazy! Also I have to renew my license as well as change my last name on it, which hasn't done before now b/c you have to have your new soc card to get your license and I didn't get that till about a month ago. I'm still holding out hope we'll get to go, but who knows. What did you and your dh do for date night? That sounds fun. :) :goodvibes

I got quite a bit done all in one day, but I've slowed back down again. I'm going to try to get another update done tonight......Tony's and MNSSHP, after the little ones are in bed. It's kind of difficult to get things done when Addy is constantly trying to help me type :) .

To be honest with you, the crocs are just ok. I get a lot of compliments on them, but I did end up with a pretty bad blister that day. I ended up having to go to one of the first aid stops and get some bandaids. They are the only pair of crocs I've ever had, but I have a friend who swears by the flip flop ones. We used to do 3 and a half mile walks every night, and that's what she wore. The shoes are nice and lightweight though.

The matching shirts were actually a lot of fun, and we got lots of compliments one them from CMs as well as other visitors. DH has even asked me to make a couple for our trip.

I see that job situation is a lot different than DH's was. He worked directly for his parents (and his brother, but that's a whole other story!).

How far away is your family? We're lucky that both of our families are close by. It would be VERY hard for me to be away from my family.

We actually didn't do anything too exciting last night. Every week, my mom keeps the girls for the night one night. It gives DH and I a little time to be together and get caught up. Since he's gone for work quite a bit, we don't always get a lot of time together. Usually we go out for dinner, but last night we just stayed at home and enjoyed Gray's Anatomy......it's our favorite.

No worries I like to sit and talk with dh and watch tv too. We also are fans of Greys Anatomy. I didn't get to watch it till tonight b/c dh goes to bed at nine (he gets up at like 4:30 b/c with it getting darker earlier now they changed start time to 5:30 instead of six thirty) or something like that. I forget exactly, but its almost a hour earlier than he has to be there. So we record it and most of the shows we watch and then will watch them the next day or whenever we have time. Right now we are about ten hours away from our family. We are living in Lynchburg, Va and they are living in toledo, ohio. When I lived in wi last winter...that was about 9ish hrs and when we living in northern va near d.c. earlier this year that was 8 hrs. I actually drove home over labor day to see them. It was so long...so I can't imagine driving with dh for 10, but at least we'll have each other b/c I drove home alone. Also we are driving half way tuesday before thanksgiving, but can't leave till later in the day b/c of work. Then we'll get there weds and do all the name changing junk with my license and our two banks and then it'll be family hang out time! I'm going to take some of my scrapbook stuff home and scrapbook with my sister b/c she does it too so thats exciting. And we can get some of our winter clothes that are in storage. I'm excited about that b/c all i've been wearing is hoodies and jeans and I know I have sweaters and dress pants in storage so I want that stuff. I think we're going to get our 4ft pre lit tree too so we can have that in our apartment. We're not allowed to have a real one sadly otherwise we would. Your lucky that your dh dosen't mind the matching shirts b/c I have read a lot of tr's where that is not the case and the dh will be the only one who isn't matching the group. Dh wouldn't mind b/c I've mentioned it to him before. Hes all over it...it just seems that I always forget to get on here and get some designs. Hope you had a good day...I wasn't feeling well...i had no appetite and something just felt off...I can't explain it, but a friend asked if i was preggo and I was like there is no chance. So I think its some sort of bug. I drank tons of fluids to try to flush it out of my system so heres hoping I get better quickly. :goodvibes
