Luggage transfer/tipping

It's just the kids and me this trip....DH is going to south Florida to fish after dropping us off. We will be changing resorts half way through the 2 week trip.
Do you have to be in the room when they pick up your luggage?
Do you tip the guy that picks up the bags also(I know to tip when they're delivered:D ).
Do you have to be in the room when the luggage is delivered?

I've been trying to add June 6 to my ressie at the Contemporary.
They're completely booked except for suites and some king bed rooms.

we have always been at the room when the luggage is picked up for transfer. and we do tip the bellman. at the new resort, they will store your luggage until the room is ready and you will need to be there. we have done this several times--no problem! good luck on booking the extra night at the contemp:p
