When I originally booked my Xmas trip, it was w DDP and a 6 day HOPPER.
That darn Disney bug bite me and we decided we wanted to go more than ONCE in a years time, so I called Disney, told them we had an ANNUAL PASS. They took the 6 day OFF and reduced my total.

Then I had to figure out how to get the DDP w my AP. Some GREAT DIS'ers told me I COULD have the AP and the DDP, together and that there was a code for it.

SO I called DISNEY back, got an AWESOME CM on the phone and he said YES, there is a code for AP and DDP, together and applied it.
Went to pay my balance at my TA, because, since my a/f was thru them, they had the control of my ressie.:confused3
TA said I had to pay for a ONE DAY PARK pass, in order to get my DDP w my AP?

Is that right?

If you are paying for the DDP, then no, you can just book a room with the AP and buy the dining plan, no tix. If it was for free dining, I think you still have to buy one day? Not 100% sure..

If it is the free dining offer, that is correct.

If you are paying for the meal plan, call up your travel agent and state you want them to book a room/dining package for annual passholders, not a room/dining/tickets package. If the travel agent says there is no such thing, ask them to call WDW and check.

It's also possible there is no availability on the room/dining AP package for the resort you want on your dates.

It wasn't a FREE dining package.
It was a room w dining Plan, with the AP.
I knew my ressie would get messed up. I had TOO many changes to it.:lmao:

If you don't have your AP yet, then just leave it alone and go straight to the ticket window BEFORE you enter the park the first day. You can each use your $79 (or whatever the total 1 day tic cost is) towards your pass purchase, that way you don't have to change it again.

Of course it doesnt work if not everyone in your party that has to purchase the one day doesnt also want/need to upgrade to the AP. You can apply the one day to one AP purchase "upgrade".

You dont have to upgrade before you enter the park. Youre actually better off using the ticket first and then upgrading so you get the most current ticket value towards the AP

If you book a room with the DDP and apply the AP you do NOT NEED to buy a single day or any other form of ticket!!!!!
Ask them to check back with Disney - there is NO NEED for a ticket if you hold an AP!
Booked my pirate room with DDP yesterday - NO ticket - with my AP

It's possible that there are no AP dining packages available for the OP's resort on the dates they want, but they need to find out if the travel agent checked. The travel agent just may not be aware of the AP packages.

Even if theres no AP rate for the resort they want they can still book the AP dining package with the room at rack rate assuming the room is still available at rack rate
