I've heard that it adds "depth" to the flavor of the chili.

Many spicy recipes that contain chili also contain chocolate for depth and to accent the spice. I just bought a chocolate bar that has chili pepper in it...spicy!

You're welcome! Personally, I don't like to add cocoa powder to my chili. I prefer my chili to be "shallow". ;)

was your recipe for chicken mole? because chicken mole has chocolate added to the chili powder and also a little bit of smooth peanut butter..when done properly it's super delicious.

Baked chicken mole enchiladas my favorite are at Casa De Juardo in El Paso, Texas.

Whenever I make chilli, I add a dash of cocoa powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. They don't add the flavor they think you would, it's a subtle flavor but I love it! DH on the other hand, HATES it but he's really picky.
