Thanks for the Sleeping Beauty tip, Pete

Long time lurker coming out to say thank you to Pete for recommending the Sleeping Beauty walk through extra on the DVD. It was very cool, I wish that I would have had the opportunity to walk through the castle in person. Maybe someday. I am home sick with shingles, and the combination of that feature and the behind the scenes making of feature were a great way to spend some of my day at home.

I really like how Disney is starting to add special features related to the parks on their recent DVD/Blu-Ray releases. In addition to the Sleeping Beauty feature, there is a segment on the new Nightmare Before Christmas DVDand Blu-Ray that gives a tour of the Nightmare overlay at the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland. There is ride-through video and another version of the video where the Imagineers talk about each section of the overlay. It's worth the price of the movie in my opinion.

The walk through segment was awesome and it was great to see how they did it. I remember seeing the attraction many years ago at Disneyland and am happy it will be returning.

Too bad we don't have anything like this at WDW.

I let DH know what Pete said about that feature on the new Sleeping Beauty and since I want to go to DL in 2009...maybe we should get the Blu-Ray even though we have the DVD. (On my Girls Trip to WDW last January I came home to find a PS3 set up and DH telling me I can now buy Blu Ray.)

DH went out and picked it up for me while I was at work yesterday. Then he told me over dinner it would just be no good unless we got a new TV. After my long day at work, we stopped on the way home - and picked up a 40" tv. DH then had to go out this morning and pick up a new stand, since his measurements & research were OFF and the darned thing DIDN'T FIT!

That one tip, now has me fueling the economy for the weekend!

I used to love the walk through when I was a little girl! When they closed it I thought we'd never see it again. I'm so thrilled they brought it back! Way to go Disney!

I wasn't going to buy this release of Sleeping Beauty since I have the previous release. Now I want it for the walk through segment! Darn it though, Disney found a way to get me to buy a DVD I already have! Thanks Pete for the recco.
