#1. After 2 weeks on WW I am SO bloated it is crazy!! Now, I have not taken my probiotic for 3 days, but I do not think that is it (and I started it again already). I drink more than enough water (8 to 10 glasses) and have not taken in excessive salt (just what is in my oatmeal, bread, salad dressing and one Diet Root Beer per day). Any one have any suggestions?

#2. How long after starting to drink you water do you stop peeing every 20 minutes? It has been 2 weeks and I am still peeing every 20 minutes, which is making me a bit unproductive at work. (Not to mention I fear they may start charging me for the extra water  ). Anyone remember how long it took them?

Thank you!!

As for the "potty breaks" - I have a bladder condition, so no matter what I have a hard time drinking that much water because I definately am not productive. I can't drink what most people do, but I have tried and it does die down after a week or so.

As for the bloating. The diet root beer can be very bloating. If you can swing it -I'd try to cut it out (as well as all artificial sweetner's). They are so bad for you, and your body actually craves more sugar when you drink them. Check your salas dressing for the sodium content, but I doubt one or two tablespoons of that would do it. I usually just use balsamic and olive oil, but I don't think that should cause a problem.

Are you eating a lot of beans or any lots of fiber? My thinking is that if your eating healthier -you are no doubt increasing your fiber. I've heard them mention watching your increase and doing that slowly, but if you are ok with the bloat just ride it out till your body gets used to it. Keep up with that water. You should feel better soon. Maybe try some lemon or ginger in your water - this could help flush you out.

Also -your body is releasing a lot of toxins as it gets used to this new healthier eating pattern. Give it time and keep at it. Your body will adjust.

Hi Amy,
Man, this is a tough one. Would you say it's more abdominal bloating or like fingers swelling as well?

As for the water, ironically, more salt would help. I don't actually have any solid figures regarding how long it takes to get to a new bathroom break equilibrium, but I think a week or two is about right??? Sorry I don't have better info.

Just abdominal. But very noticeable. And I am still losing weight. But, my pants are really tight.

I am not certain, but I too think it is just your body readjusting to healthy choices. Don't give up yet.

If it is just your abdominal area you might consider calling your dr and telling him/her about your diet and the bloated area. He/she may have some suggestions or even want to see you.

I think it doesn't sound like salt is the problem, for what that's worth. And I agree if it continues more than few more days, discussing it with your doctor (or nurse line) would be a wise idea.

I"m seriously thinking it's fiber. Track your fiber intake over the next few days. Most people don't get very much. I get about 30-45g a day when I eat healthy. If your not used to this amount - it can make you bloated and gassy (and very unconfortable). My guess is that its this. It just makes sense with a new healthier eating style.
