DH has to give out candy alone this year, I'll be at work.

We give out the snack size of 3 Musketeers, Milky Ways, stuff like that. I get myself a bag of Almond Joys... 1 year, DH gave out my candy...boy was he in trouble!!!

Nope, our road is way to busy so we don't get anyone. I usually buy starburst or something chocolatey like M&Ms. I never buy my faves, they would be gone before Halloween.

We used to T or T up in the neighborhood at the top of the hill but last year my neighbors were all drunk. Like as in making the kids walk and pushing the cooler full of boozes in the stroller, drunk. So this year we are going to Mystic Seaport for their halloween party. I think the kids will have way more fun.

We live off a road to nowhere down a long drive way with neighbors who are acres away. No one comes to our house to trick or treat. Get to keep all the snack size candy for ourselves. :thumbsup2

I am told no one comes to our house- we didn't buy any candy. We are a driveway right off the main highway with no one else around. Even in laBelle we only got cisits from friends who were driving their children around.

We have a great Trick or Treating neighborhood. It's odd though, because no one comes on our street, but everyone goes a few streets over. I don't usually buy much to give out since we are usually all out ourselves. I try not to buy any for myself, if I did it would be Butterfingers and Baby Ruths. Yummy.

We do give out halloween candy. DS will be handing it out this year (he's taking this year "off" from wearing a costume) while dd is out trick or treating with her bff. Usually I buy miniature chocolate bars ('cause if there is any left over it's mine, mine, mine), I gues that kinda answers the last question:laughing:

favourites include anything reeses and snickers bars http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee62/rhonda6699/thchocolate.gif

We have a very good and busy trick or treat neighborhood. I usually buy something not chocolate -- airheads, smarties, dum dums, starbursts etc, this is not what I like. I always buy 2 bags and we are never here to give it out! Trick or treating is from 3pm -6pm, so by the time we get home it is over.

THis year may be different. DH is changing jobs and is outprocessing on Halloween. If he is home in time he'll stop at the nearest store and buy whatever he can find for the legions of kids that will stop by.

I love Halloween even more as a parent than I did as a kid. (I am not a big candy eater) It is so much less stressful than Christmas; just plain fun!

We give out candy too. We have the best neighborhood for T & T. About 100 houses.

I usually buy whatever is on sale and I won't eat. I always buy either dum dums or smarties for the little ones too.

We don't get any TorT. If a friend brings their child to our house, we would give them a great snack though from the pantry.

We do give out candy. Usually non chocolate. Not sure why though??:confused3 We get ALOT of kids. We usually run out of candy and have to go through DDs haul and "regive" the candies she can't have due to braces or things we just don't like.:rotfl: Is that wrong!:confused3 :rotfl:

This year we are t or t'ing with BFF in her neighborhood. So will leave a bowl on our porch here. I figure the first few kids will take it all but at least I participated for my own neighborhood. Hope it keeps me from getting egged!!

We normally get about 30-40, sometimes 50 trick or treaters. We give out the snack-size stuff. My favorites are Kit Kats and Almond Joys, but I try not to buy those because I would eat every one of them!!

This year, we are going to my brother's house. He and SIL live about 20 minutes away, and their neighborhood is full of children. They close the streets in the neighborhood, have a parade, and then everyone just walks around and does the trick-or-treating. DB and SIL don't have kids yet, and they love spending time with DS, so we are doing Halloween there!

I'm excited! I'll actually be home to hand out candy tomorrow! :yay:

We're never home to hand out the candy, so this is a treat for me. DH usually puts two huge bags of candy in a bowl, and leaves it outside the front door. It's gone when we get home. I figure that the first to stop by take most, if not all, of the candy. :sad2:

We're giving out the snack size good stuff - Reese's, Hershey's, Snickers - all of my best friends.

I'm making treat bags for work this morning, and they're getting the same good stuff!

we also live on a main street with hardly any houses. so we don't give any out. we take ds to my inlaws, my bffs, and my familys. that's it. so it works out well. my mil has a nice t or t neighborhood so when we go there our ds hands out the candy and he loves it! i think he likes the most.
so i buy a big bag and make little bags for the kids in his class with playdoh, pencils, crayons, and candy. it's always baby ruths, 1000 bar, crunch, and butterfingers. but everyday is halloween around here. our family -both sides- makes fun of me because i ALWAYS have candy in this house. it's my weakness.

Our trick or treat neighborhood is crazy busy! We just leave a bowl on the front porch. I usually need about 6 bags so I get a wide variety of chocolate and fun stuff, Spree, Sweetarts, Smarties...:)

OMG, we do the same thing. No one likes nuts here so we give that away, and DH hates the smell of gum so that goes too. Of course, my kids really shouldn't be T or T anymore 12, 13 and 17, but they all have costumes and are going out with friends.

Do you give out Halloween candy? Yes, but just one bag.. no real reason to buy more than that... we don't get many trick or treater's because we live in a neighborhood that has lots of older people.. We chose the quiet area of town and the town where my kids have dozen of adopted grandparents!!!!! Another reason my kids tell me they can do "nothin" w/o someone knowing! Forgot to add DH and DD take out DS8 after the annual photos of all kids... I go sometimes depends on the weather. The rule is we only go to houses we know the families and of course the fire station. DS always stays home to pass out candy he doesn't like halloween he dresses for the photo ops!!

What are you giving out? I bought a goodie bag mix of stuff (sweet-tarts, gummies, worms).

Do you buy a secret bag of your favs? Usually a bag of small candy bars for DH to take into work and throw @ the guy that sit next to him @ the cubicles! This is the same guy that everytime the phone rings tells DH to tell me hi!

We get lots of trick or treaters. We have a great neighborhood for it and we get lots of kids. DH and I usually sit on the tailgate of his truck at the end of the driveway and hand out candy while watching the parade of kids and hayrides go by. It's really fun. I buy lots of candy and my cauldron is usually about half full of all that wonderful chocolate - snickers, baby ruth, kit kat, butterfinger, nestle crunch, etc. I sneak a bag of individual bags of plain M&M's in there for me!!! DH goes for the butterfingers and DS likes the kit kats.

I do give out candy, but not much as we are not home very long. We trick or treat on main street. The business give out candy and they close down main street from 3:30 to after the parade around 8:30. Yes we have a parade on Halloween. We go TandT and then up to the parade where we get even more candy from what is thrown from the floats.
I will be on a float this year. Girl Scouts love parades.
As for buying candy that I like, I like most candy and eat alot at work just to stay awake.

Back when we first moved into our "just starting out" neighborhood, we actually gave out full size candy bars because we had so few kids come! But the area grew quickly and now it is the snack size candies for everyone. I usually buy whatever is on sale (in the chocolate category, not the cheap junk). The kids would KILL me if I tried to hand out pencils or raisins (ideas that have been vetoed in the past).

This year I bought two 80-piece bags... one is Snickers, Twix, Starburst and ??, the other is Reese's and something??. I bought them about two weeks ago and hid them from DH. I am not hugely tempted by them so that hasn't been a problem. PLus I am cheap and didn't want to have to buy more! I'm sure there will be some left.... usually the last few kids get a huge handful just to get rid of it. But I have a big fear of running out, so I usually over-buy.

Nope, I haven't bought any secret treats for myself.... I am on Weight Watchers and definitely shouldn't be buying treats and the rest of the family definitely doesn't need the calories! PLus the kids will bring home enough junk tomorrow night! Thanks for asking!.................P

We are a hand out family here. Our neighborhood is crawling with kids. Since it is a Friday this year, I bought 25 lbs of candy literally. Two 10 lb bags of "chocolate favorites" (i think they are mars or Hershey's, whatever Costco was selling) and store box of like 200 tootsie pops. I just felt like a tootsie pop when I was at cost co, so I had to buy the huge box. And i have a few single serving of candy corn packs that I used to make stuff for the work party we had today.

After the little kids have gone to bed, we put out all the remaining candy on the front steps and the teenagers clean it out by morning.

If it was here, I would eat it!

Yes, I'll be handing out candy this year. I've bought 10 bags - we usually get a lot of kids and I feel stingy giving just one piece. I bought all of my favorites: Snickers, M&Ms, KitKat, Reese's. I figure if I have any leftover, I at least want it to be stuff I like!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: My mom will come over to hand out the candy so DH and I can take the kids trick or treating. DS#1 will be Donald Duck and Zachary is going to be a skunk.

I think I'm going to have to send DS16 out for more candy...DH and I went to the new Walmart in town, and they had no halloween stuff...but had isles and isles of Christmas stuff...

I did find a couple of bags by the check-out but I think we need a couple of more... especially because DH was eyeing up the twix...
