Great - you're driving?
If we can't find where you get it in OC, I can get it here and we can meet at DL sometime before the trip. But first - Theresa, you should look in Canada for good liquor stores as they may import it. Not Magicale, but the rosa.
I have looked in Canada and they have it in Manitoba and Newfoundland (of all places :confused3), but not BC. I have faxed in a request form, but who knows if/that will work and how long it would take....... I did it two weeks ago and no response.
It's very strange that this one place has it in Hawaii since Magicale is exclusive to Disney. And the cost of shipping anything to Hawaii drives up the retail price, so it's very odd. Anyway, you won't find Magicale in Vegas.
If someone is driving maybe they will drive over a couple of bottles of the rosa to Vegas. I can help them locate the bottles or get some to them if the driver can't find them in OC.
On the V. pins, they always come in the same pairs. So if you got Yeti, you got teacups. Did you find that Ebay name? Shoot me a PM or email when you do, please, rather than post it here.
It is strange it's only in Hawaii - not sure why. When they get it, it's very few bottles. Last time it was 9 bottles and they went really fast. I e-mailed them and they are looking into shipping to Canada, but I would have to buy a case of it. Fine by me :thumbsup2
Thanks. I just finished 2 tests. Logic is pretty easy & fun.
Nite Donna...
Umm...what is the name of the wine you found???
Theresa, if I found some I would be willing to ship it to you. Or if i lived in Bellingham I would meet you somewhere. I am far away from the border...well except for Taco Bell's border...:lmao:
Ha!! You have to try some too, Deb, and let me know if it's as good as Magicale :lovestruc
Thanks! I will keep an eye out for that.
Thanks, Beth!!!
OMG, you guys are NOT going to believe this!!!!
Guess what I just read??
Pretty good, right??
Get this:
:headache:  :sad2:
Darn it. That would have been so perfect!!!!!! The seats we were looking at were Cat. 2 I believe, so they would have been 75 bucks. Shoot.
How ironic that we were just talking about this today. And I was telling you I'd never seen a locals offer for Love. Sure enough, that's what it says, "First time locals offer." Ugh.
Anyone wanna come a month earlier? :rolleyes1
Bummer :sad1: I'm coming in May then

Yeah, that's a Disney markup!! You can buy the Magicale from Wine By Numbers in Hawaii (if you LIVE in Hawaii though) for only $19.95/bottle........ I'm still hoping to finagle two bottles to bring home from Vegas (please, please, pretty please). If someone knows where to get some in Vegas, I would be soooooo happy. I think I can bring home only two bottles though (legally - and we're being good here :thumbsup2) as long as I bring it in my suitcase (not shipped, not in carry-on). Then I have to wait until August to get more (so drink slooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly and make it last!).
I loved how the website was selling it by the bottle, and now you have to buy it by the case. :sad2: $20 I could, $200+ I cannot. :rotfl:

I just got an email. The Love tickets are on sale for the month of June as well. :thumbsup2
Not the 40% off locals deal unfortunately, but they are 25% off which is better than nothing.
http://mirage-cds.admission.com/adm/LOVE_25.htm
So the category 2 seats, normally running $137.50 are going for $103.13. Those are the ones I'd pick.
And interestingly enough, most of the better category 2 seats are going fast, where as category 1 still has plenty left. I think people are realizing being close to the stage isn't the best thing for this show, and that the closer category 2 seats will probably sell out first. So what's left will be either really close or really far.
I guess now you all need to decide if:
1. You are ready to buy them now or do you wait for a different deal?
2. If you get them now, are you going for 10 seats all in a row, or two rows of 5 and 5 with one in front of the other?
3. Who's got enough moola available on a credit card to order 10 tickets at over 100 bucks a piece?

That's so weird. I just did it again, best available, and got this: Level Lower, Section 102, Row B, Seat 3-12
Same as when I choose Cat 1; then when I choose Cat 2, I get this:
Level Upper, Section 205, Row S, Seat 9-18

Alot of times calling and booking over the phone is best because then you have a human who knows the theatre layout that can find you the best possible seats rather than what the computer "thinks" is best. We recently went to see Phantom and I booked over the phone to get a locals discount, and while the seats that the agent booked for us were farther back than the "best available" online, she knew that the supposedly better seats actually had a partially obstructed view. So, I would suggest that whomever is going to make the booking take a few minutes to call... but that's just mho.:confused3

HI Amy, Jane, and Stacie!
I just wanted to let you know I bought the Chippendale tickets. Actually Ruben did. He was listening to that radio show I was telling you about and they were having a special. 4 tickets for $25!!!
That is dirt cheap. Normally they are $50-something, and they were on sale for locals for $20 each. But he called and got four of them for $25 total.
The only downside is I'm not sure how good the seats are. But I figure for around 6 bucks a person, it doesn't matter. That's cheaper than going to a movie!! We'll still have a great time just hanging out.
Anyway, just wanted to pass that info along.

I love Rock Band!! It's great because a lot of people (depending on how many instruments/microphones you have) can play together :thumbsup2 I could never play Guitar Hero because I stink at the instruments. No one will let me play anymore, except to sing. Not that I'm a good singer, but at least I won't cause the entire band to lose with my sucky skills :sad2: I do a lot better when I realized it doesn't matter what words you say, as long as you somewhat follow the tune and pitch. I even got "AWESOME" for a Beasty Boys rap song that I totally made up my own rhymes for (I had NO IDEA what the words were - plus no way am I saying that with a straight face ). Just call me MC Mama :lmao:

I know - I would hide them for myself too since Jesse is such a poop now (13 - too cool for most things :confused3). It's like buying yourself Christmas presents (which I do anyway - Hey, I give good gift :rotfl:) - not quite as fun, but you're sure you're going to get the good stuff!

Ah, I see. That's awfully funny. I love Stacie's sense of humor. But don't tell her, she might get a big head.
DH picked a Japanese place that's popular and good but has good prices. I noticed their prices went down since last time we were there, maybe a year ago. The complete dinner (soup, salad, 2 choices (like a teriyaki and salmon or tempura and sashimi), rice, tiny spring roll) was $12.99.
How was your day?

Awesome work on picking up a great deal for the tickets... yay for more stripper cash now!!!
Anyway, not to say that I am missing any of you, but I'm sitting here catching up on the threads after a long day of shopping, and I'm wearing a tiara just because. My hair is styled in what Beth dubbed my princess: "princess hairdo" on the trip, and it just screamed to have a tiara added, so I did!

I wanna hide Easter eggs too--but no young kids here. (I guess I could hide them for myself, but it just wouldn't be the same . . . . )
Stacielee--are you calling about the tickets?
Just catching up... I can call, but I need definite confirmations from everyone who wants to go. I'm not buying 10 tickets and find out that not everyone is IN.
If you are DEFINITELY in for Love, please PM me. I'll see what I can find out as soon as I hear from the other 9 who have said they wanted to go.

Sounds awesome (except the cold...). I love the idea of barbecue for Easter - I think I'm doing that next year :upsidedow We've been super busy this weekend because of ball hockey (we won today - yay!! and Jesse scored a goal - woo hoo!!). He's so excited because he's the team captain - he loves it. I think it's good for him too - he has to encourage all the players and work together as a team :thumbsup2 We're not having Easter dinner until tomorrow because I'm too pooped out for today, but it will be good.

It does make me feel special, which is why I do it!!!
Hope that everyone had a wonderful Sunday and great holiday, which ever one you happen to be celebrating. We woke up a little later than usual and let Ty take apart his Easter basket. Despite the fact that I didn't feel like it had very much candy in it, I think that he had more sugar before 10 am than he has had in his entire life thus far. Then we headed to the park and let him work off a little energy on the playground and he had a little easter egg hunt.
Then it was naptime for Ty so Dave and I spent that time playing with my fun new Wii game that the Easter bunny brought me--Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves. It is so much fun and a good workout to boot! I love all the Disney music and the cute little costumes that you can earn so that you can dress your Mii like Disney characters.
Finally I grabbed a short nap while Dave made dinner--glazed spiral ham, mac'n'cheese and a creamed spinach casserole that is the most important holiday food tradition in my family. And now I am catching up on the boards. All in all, it was a perfect day!

Morning girls!
Sounds like everyone had a great Easter.
Way to go JESSE!!
So get this..my kids never ask for an egg hunt. Well yesterday after dinner Kaeleb is like, "Mom, when are we going to hunt for eggs?"
Ok so they are usually with their dad on Easter, or we go to church and then they go to their cousins house with their grandparents in Tricities. So I haven't had to do and egg hunt in years. Well last year we had one at my friend Ambers house before the BBQ. Anywho I felt so bad. I didn't even think of an egg hunt.
1. Because Jordan is way too COOL :cool2: to hunt for eggs.
2. I don't have any plastic eggs.
3. I already used most of the other eggs for deviled eggs & egg salad
4. They never ask for this....

I am not a recipe user... I tend to know the basics and improvise, so here is an approximation of how to make this yummy casserole.
Spinach Crunch
1 bag or 2 bricks of frozen chopped spinach
1 clove grated garlic and/or garlic salt to taste
1 brick cream cheese
1 can evaporated milk
1 egg
1 tsp. lemon juice
dash of onion salt
1-2 cups crushed corn or rice chex OR crispix
1-2 tbsp. melted butter
Cook spinach on stovetop and drain well. Add a little grated garlic and/or garlic salt. Transfer to an 8X11 baking pan.
Use the same pot that you cooked the spinach in to make a cream sauce using the cream cheese, egg and approximately 1/2 of the evaporated milk. Whisk constantly to incorporate the cream cheese and egg into the milk. Once it is a nice thick creamy consistency add a little onion salt and the lemon juice.
Pour the sauce over the spinach and use a spatula to mix thoroughly and spread evenly in the baking dish. Cover with crushed cereal to make a nice topping. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake at 350-375 for 25-30 minutes.
My mom has been making it for every holiday--Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and all 6 family members' birthdays for as long as I can remember after she found the recipe in a PTA cookbook when I was little. Since then every member of my immediate family has learned how to make it and we have taught our husbands and wives to make it too, yet the cookbook it came from is long gone and as far as I know we have no written recipe, we all just know how to do it. If you try it, let me know what you think!

Since then every member of my immediate family has learned how to make it and we have taught our husbands and wives to make it too, yet the cookbook it came from is long gone and as far as I know we have no written recipe, we all just know how to do it. If you try it, let me know what you think!
This sounds yummy and I'm going to have to try it!
Oh yeah, it's a dry heat, just like here in Phoenix. Anything over 100 doesn't matter, it's still hotter than h-e-double toothpicks!!

You are right! But it must be a dry heat at least?
Yes. Thank goodness, otherwise I couldn't tolerate it. I don't know how people live in places that are humid. We went to Florida one year in May and the heat and humidity were so bad, I was miserable. You just drip sweat even in the shade. It's icky! :scared:
Heck, I don't even have to wait till June for that. I had to hurry into Target today, and get out before I saw any deals. So I was sweating a bit. Not good. What?? You didn't stop to check out the after Easter deals??

Does anyone know what a "realistic budget" for June is? Taking into account the shows, meals, etc. - what is a good amount to shoot for???? I have no idea and would like to start getting prepared :woohoo:

Cheryl, Theresa, Stacie, Donna, Amy, Wendy, Jane, and me.
Debbie PM'd me about the price and Dawn PM'd me that she isn't going. That accounts for everyone on the list. Debbie, let me know ASAP if you are in.

Ok, I was just going to ask you how it was going. So I'll take Dawn's name off the Love list, and then we'll wait to hear from Debbie.
In the meantime, I'll see about making up a mock price list of things so everyone can get an idea of what it will run them. Keep a chair or soft pillow handy for when you faint. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Yahoo!!!
BTW - I looked at Lucky Cheng's and we can reserve the seats. The only issue I would have with that is that if people confirm they are going and then do not show up, the person who reserved gets charged $20 per person (Fri-Sat) who does not show up plus $15 food costs per person who does not show up, so it would be great if everyone can be sure, sure they are going!!!!

OKay, here is a very general, very quick idea of what things will cost. Keep in mind this will vary from person to person depending on what souvenirs they buy, how many Coach bags they need, how many drinks they down, how many ones they shove in the G-string, etc. ;)
Sunday
Dinner @ Margaritaville - $20 (this is about what I pay for my meals out, or even less. But keep in mind, I order the cheaper items like chicken and pasta, and no alcohol. So if you order a fancy drink and the steak, obviously it will be more. Menus are linked on the front page so you can always go through and select what you think you'll order to get an approximate cost.)
Monday
Breakfast - $0 (grab something in the room to save $$$)
Luxor, Excalibur, NY NY, and MGM/Lion Habitat are all free to walk around.
Lunch @ Il Fornaio - $15-$20 (again depending on what you order so adjust accordingly.)
M&M World/Coke Store - free to walk around, but depends on if you buy souvenirs. They do have cute things so maybe allow some spending money for this.
Dinner @ BLT Burger - $20-$25 depending on if you order dessert or a spiked milkshake. ;)
Love - $103 plus taxes and fees
Volcano/Pirate show - Free
Drinks @ Kahunaville and/or The Wynn - I don't know, how much can you drink?? :rotfl: I'd allow around $20 for this.
Tuesday
Breakfast in room - $0
Massage - This varies depending on what services you get, but it seems to run around $90.
OR for those not doing the massage, there is the Paris hotel and Eiffel tower experience which is $10.
Shopping at Caesars Forum shops - HA! Sky is the limit here. You can go for broke or window shop like me.
Lunch @ Serendipity - $25 ( $1,000 if you want that sundae)
Bellagio fountains and conservatory - Free
Tony and Tina's wedding - $89 (this is assuming we don't get ANY discount at all, but most likely we will so it should be less than that. Also keep in mind this includes dinner)
Drinks @ Peppermill - Again I ask, how much can you drink? :rolleyes1
Wednesday
Breakfast in room - $0
Venetian hotel and gondolas - $16 to ride
Earl of Sandwich - $10-$12
Shopping - ??? Up to you.
Stripper 101 - With no discount at all, it will be around $50 but I'm sure we can find some sort of specials. I'll keep an eye out.
Dinner/drinks @ Dick's - $20-$25
Thunder from Down Under - Tickets run around $50 but I know we can find a discount somewhere for this.
Thursday
Breakfast in room $0
Swimming - Free
Disney outlet and Coach outlet shopping - This could get scary!!! :scared1: I don't wanna know how much y'all will spend here!
Lunch @ Town Square restaurants - $20
Rio/Voodoo lounge - I think the Witch Doctor drinks run around $12 and that's the cool one I wanted to order.
Fremont Street experience - Free, but bring a couple bucks for things like deep fried Oreos. lol
Olympic Garden - Around $40 for cover, drinks, and tips
Friday
Breakfast in room $0
This is a free day, but that doesn't mean it won't cost ya. Honestly, it's hard to say since we don't know for sure what we are doing this day. If we tour more hotels, that will be free. If we do the rides on top of the Stratosphere, those can be pricey.
Lunch - We haven't picked a place. It depends on what we end up doing. I imagine we'll keep it small since we have a big drag dinner to look forward to.
Dinner @ Lucky Chengs - Prices start at $40 so plan on at least that.
Saturday
Breakfast in room $0
Again this day is sort of play by ear, so it's hard to say. Maybe a drive out to Hoover Dam or Area 51 would be nice and not too expensive.
Dinner @ Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill - $25-$30
Harrah's Carnaval Court - live music, dueling pianos, and flare bartenders, Free
Sunday
Breakfast in room - $0
Time to go home.

04-13-2009, 08:59 PM
Adding all that up, it comes to approximately $600 for the food and entertainment portion. The rest you have to fill in the blanks for yourself based on what you think you'll spend on each item.
Souvenirs and other shopping - ????
Drinks (at the bars, not restaurants) - ????
Hotel - ?????
Airfare - ????

Yea, Debbie's in!
Apps are fun but they are usually high calorie (fried) - so I would like the option of real food. And often drinks and apps end up costing more than a meal. I like the schedule Beth's worked out!
So everyone still wants to wait til June for this? I know some have made ressies but I don't know if and what the penalties are. If we go sooner we'll have beat the heat, have plenty o' discounts (because it's before summer vacay) and we won't have to wait! (why delay gratification?):cool2:

For DING fares you need to go to Southwest and sign up. It's a program you download to your computer. You select which airports you are interested in, then when DINGs pop up for those airports, it notifies you.
Some have strict restrictions, but you can get really good deals that way.

I used to hang out at the exchange board all the time! OMG, at one point I was in 7 different exchanges at once. In fact, I hosted several of them. I've hosted a Princess exchange, a flip flop exchange, a candy exchange, a stationery exchange, and I started the snack exchange like two years ago. I got Stacielee and a few of the other ladies started on them.
They are fun, but it got to be too much for me so I'm on hiatus right now. Or rather my wallet is. :rotfl:
When I lived in MI and was hanging out online with the WDW ladies group, I hosted several exchanges for our group then too. (I hosted a Valentine's Day exchange, a beach towel exchange, a summer exchange, a Halloween exchange, etc)
The most popular one I hosted was the Christmas stocking exchange. Everyone loved that.
And I was already planning that if we don't do the Christmas theme for the Meet and Greet, that I was going to organize a stocking exchange for our group this November! :yay: Just for those who are interested and who celebrate Christmas. :santa:
The exchanges are a lot of fun!! I use to do them all of the time, but I just get so busy, the post office is horrible here. Its always, always busy!!
They are fun, but the are addicting. And I always spend more than the minimum so it was costing me too much money. I had to stop if I wanted to remain happily married. LOL
And sometimes you send a really nice one out, and I hate to say this but, you get a crappy one in return. :sad2: That's why I liked doing the exchanges within our group of ladies because you knew you'd get something nice back.

You're talking about Nancy. (Meriweather) She is so nice. We used to PM a lot and I actually had lunch with her at the Cheesecake Factory when she was in Vegas on vacation. She paid, that's how sweet she is! And her exchanges always rock, she sends the best stuff.
I don't know if you read my post to Callie, but she's the one I mentioned built a house in AZ to be closer to her kids who live there, but now is stuck in WA because her house there won't sell. So frustrating.
I've invited her on our next ladies trip, so maybe she'll join us.
I thought about doing a summer exchange and I almost suggested it before talk about the expenses for the trip came up. :scared1: LOL I kept quiet after that because I just figured at this point everyone would need to be saving their money for Vegas. :rotfl:
But it's up to y'all. I'm up for one if everyone else is. For a summer exchange it would be a $20 minimum, not including shipping and handling.

Ahhh... i know just what you are talking about Beth.. i do the same thing.. it's so FUN to make the exchange that when you get yours it's anticlimatic. It's good to do exchanges with a group of girls you know will be committed. Like us... we all need to be CoMMiTTeD!:rotfl:
The flip flop one sounds interesting.
Maybe we can do a series of exchanges on the girls only thread.. one around the 4th of July... one for halloween... and one for christmas.
It wouldn't be mandatory to participate.. and it would be open only to girl's only trippers. And afterall we have Beth who is a Pro at this.

Yeah, that's why I stopped. I mean, I'm not trying to sound witchy or spoiled but when I spent $30 on an exchange for someone I don't know, and get one back that doesn't even look like they spent the minimum amount, that sucks.
The flip flop one sounds interesting.
The flip flop one was so fun. I started that one back when I lived in Michigan. I asked Patsy (mommytotwo) and Nancy (Meriweather) since they are pretty much in charge of the exchange board if I could host one and they said sure, no one else had done that before.
It was neat and we got lots of kids involved too.

You know I'd be up for a Halloween one! And the Christmas I was already thinking of doing.
The only thing is if people will want to do a summer one because of summer trips they might be saving for. :confused3
It's definitely not mandatory. Each exchange takes about a month so we will start them ahead of time. It's a week for sign up, a week to shop and mail, and then it takes about 2-3 weeks for all exchanges to arrive. So about a month to complete one exchange.
That's why for a Halloween one for example, you would start sign ups end of September at least. Which is fine since holiday decorations are always out so early in the stores.

Yes, there is a desert, I like smack dab in the middle of it. Hotter than HE** in the summer months & colder than Alaska in the winter. Its crazy around here. Infact I heard that it snowed last night over by Capri. In Quincy, its like 20 minutes away it snowed there also. It was so COLD here last night & windy. It made baseball so horrible. But Jordan pitched his game wonderfully!!

What are y'all planning to do while you are here? That's the nice thing about Vegas, you can totally tailor your trip to suit your needs. However, since we have some Vegas virgins in our midst, no way am I letting them off the hook. :rolleyes1
They are getting the full Vegas experience. At least this time, they can chill next time. :rotfl2:
The flip flop exchange I did was open to everyone (men, woman, children). It was a $12 minimum exchange. That doesn't include shipping and handling. None of them do. That is always an extra expense that you take on. Also many people include little freebies or extras, those are also not included in the minimum price.
For $12 it was up to you what you sent. Either one pair totaling that amount, or I bought some cute ones to send from Payless that were BOGO so I was able to send two pair. Plus I was sending to a kid which is usually cheaper.
When each person signs up I had them include their shoe size and style preference, gender, age, as well as address, etc. Also do they want a high heel, something with a decoration, a certain color, a certain character for kids, soft strap or plastic strap, etc.
I always remind people though that those are just requests and ultimately it's up to your sender to choose what to send, so if you are someone who is picky about flip flops, and can only wear certain styles I'd recommend they think twice about signing up.
It went really well. I think that's one of the ones of mine that Stacielee did.

I would be up for an exchange.
Let me PM Mary Jo and see where she thinks the best place to post this would be. I do not want to post it on the regular exchange board because we want to keep it just us.
When I did the WDW ladies exchanges, we started new threads for each exchange on the DIS Meets board as that's where our trip planning thread was back then, and none of the mods ever said anything to me about having exchange threads on a Meets board. I made it clear in each thread title that it was an exchange for the WDW ladies only trip members and we never once had anyone else try to join in. It worked out perfect.
So I'll ask her if I should post it on the DL planning section where our thread is now, on the new DL community board, or if we should just keep in within our thread. The last one is my least favorite choice because it will get lost, but we'll see.
I'll PM her now.

You posted you're doing Love though right? I think that's the big ticket item, but well worth it.
The rest is mainly shopping, food and drinks, which can all be tailored to each person.
Meaning you can spend as little or as much as you want on that.
I'm confident we will get discounts for those other shows so I'm not worried about that cost at all. Just make sure you've got plenty of ones handy for the OG!

We are going to sleep late.. stay up later... sit and have drinks and talk... and order room service to have while we watch movies we haven't gotten to see at the theater.

Another thing to keep in mind is I get emails daily from a website that offers free show tickets to locals.
So far today for example, I've gotten emails offering me free tickets to the Nathan Burton magic show, The Sopranos Last Supper dinner show, and The Mentalist. None of them are exactly top rated shows, but they are free. LOL
We actually got 6 tickets to see Nathan Burton and the whole family went not that long ago. It was pretty good.
So if for some reason Tony and Tina's or Lucky Cheng's doesn't work out, maybe we can do something else cheaper or even free. Just an option. The emails and shows change all the time so you never know what's going to be offered.

For DING fares you need to go to Southwest and sign up. It's a program you download to your computer. You select which airports you are interested in, then when DINGs pop up for those airports, it notifies you.
Some have strict restrictions, but you can get really good deals that way.

:santa:
And sometimes you send a really nice one out, and I hate to say this but, you get a crappy one in return. :sad2: That's why I liked doing the exchanges within our group of ladies because you knew you'd get something nice back.
That was what impressed me with our tote exchange. Every tote was good, made with love or nicely chosen. I went over the budget too but didn't think everyone would. I was amazed. I think a Christmas stocking exchange in Nov is a terrific idea.

Air units in the desert run differently than those where there is high volumes of humidity. Ours run on the lack of humidy, they produce great savings on light bills. Maybe Beth and Stacielee have these kinds of cooling units?:confused3 We have 3 within our home. Thank Goodness we've replaced them all now, our home is over 30 years old.:goodvibes
We used to have an evap unit at one of our old houses, would love to have it here, but it's pretty expensive to have it retrofitted.

I :lovestruc exchanges too!!! But I do have three issues:
1. Unfortunately, I have gotten some crap when I spend a lot of time, money, and effort in my exchanges :sad1: (I did the flip-flop exchange once because I LOVE flip-flops. I ordered a really cool pair of sparkly Baby Phat ones to be sent to my buddy and got three pairs of dollar store flip-flops in return. Seriously, they had paper thin bottoms and were just not nice). I was very sad.
2. I live in Canada and the shipping here is not nice for whoever sends me a gift :sad2: That's why I usually end up sending my stuff overseas to England or Scotland. There are some really nice DIS ladies who live in the UK and they GET how to do a good exchange too :thumbsup2
3. Sometimes your buddy who you send an exchange to flakes off and you never hear back and they don't send out their exchange (which is really not nice!!!).
Not all exchanges are bad, but I would certainly be in for exchanging with you guys, whatever, whenever!!! I just took part in the snack exchange and the candy exchange - both were :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Okay, so Debbie is in it for Love!! So we have 9 of us; I'll call and see what I can find out about the tickets. If I can get them now at the discount , I'll do it. Beth, can you post the link again for the discount, and remind me where I should look for tickets? Thanks!!

Beth, how can they afford to give away free tickets to these shows? Do they make it up in drinks? No, no drink purchase is required. They would rather give the seats away and have it be a full house, then half the theater empty.
Then those who did pay to see it, are going to say how no one was in the audience. Their hope is that if they give the tickets away that we'll like the show and as locals recommend it to friends and family when the visit.

Well, cheap dollar wise is good! LOL You can find good quality, cute items for exchanges that are cheap but are still things people would like to own. I just think some people do not take the time to look. :confused3
And I hate it when people on the Exchange board would sign up and not send!! I had that happen a few times, and then as the host you either have to find a volunteer (called an elf) to send out to that person who didn't get anything, or you have to do it yourself.

So if for some reason Tony and Tina's or Lucky Cheng's doesn't work out, maybe we can do something else cheaper or even free. Just an option. The emails and shows change all the time so you never know what's going to be offered.
I would totally be up to changing plans if we can get cheap/free tickets for something else.
I know--I would be embarassed to send something cheap.
Exactly. I wouldn't want to send anything that I wouldn't want to get in return.
I would be up for an exchange.

I called the Mirage and this is what I found out:
The first/best row for a Cat 2 ticket is Row P; we are getting Row R, which is just behind P (there's no Q). She also sald that Section 204 is a good section to see everything from. And the 25% discount is only available online, I can't call and get it. But she said if the 40% discount comes up for June, we can re-book and get refunded the difference. So we're looking at Section 204, Row R, seats 6-14, $103.13 + $5 service fee, $108.13 each.

I was gonna ask the same thing. Then ask if I can come stay with her.
I know, I was too!!
The idea of exchanges are great. If you get a person who participates responsibly.
That might be fun. If we can fit it in, I wouldn't mind going.
I have been, but its a lot of fun.

Well, why don't we keep Thursday night and Friday night free then and not book or reserve anything? We can still look for Tony and Tina's Wedding tickets as I think that's a great group show, but we'll look for them that week at a discount.
And then on Friday we can just see what is offered on the Strip discount booths, and/or in my emails. Sound good? :confused3

I will eat at whichever place the group prefers too but would probably pick the Irish place over the Italian. (bangers are sausages) ;) I think this is the same Il Fornaio chain we have in SoCal. Also like the idea of a view as the Irish place says from the website:
"Live free. Dine Well. Drink good beer. Inspired by a group of extraordinary Irishmen who led lives of great adventure, this is a pub of epic proportions starring a grand Victorian-style bar, ornate cottage areas, shop-style snugs, and two levels of outdoor patio dining with a spectacular Las Vegas Strip view. As for food and drink, our chef feverishly worked to create tempting signature dishes made of only the freshest, natural Irish ingredients. Pair these with the finest stouts, ales, lagers, spirits, music, and entertainment by special guest artists and you've got yourself a little piece of the Emerald Isle in the heart of Las Vegas!"

Guess where else I found the Rosa today? At Trader Joe's. I don't know if this SoCal chain is only in California... or whether it's throughout the west now. It's a grocery store unlike any other, on the smaller side, with great bargains and many items that are their own brand.
They have a big liquor dept and they had the standard size bottles for $17.99 plus about $1.60 tx.
Theresa, did you find a place to ship to Canada yet?

They are both in NY NY. I just don't think there is much on the Irish menu I'd eat. I don't eat pork and I think most sausage is made with that. Not sure if bangers are. :confused3
Or if everyone is down with the Irish men, I totally don't mind grabbing something from the food court while y'all are in there, and catching up with you later. I'm fine with that. In fact, I'd rather do that, than keep anyone from eating where they really want because of my picky taste in food. kwim?
Oh, and about the exchange it's no problem to do it with a large group. I've done it lots of time. No worries! In fact, it's more fun that way. :dance3: I love reading about all the different packages everyone receives. :goodvibes

Hey Dawn!!! How ya doing????? I'm excited to do an exchange. It's not very summery here yet, but hopefully soon! The pool is looking good (a little too cold still ). Jesse desperately wanted to go swimming on the weekend, but I think he would have got hypothermia if he tried (he even got into his swimsuit and got his flippers and snorkle ready to go - dipped in his toe and ran for the hills :lmao:). He's travelled everywhere though - he's from Ghana and lived in Nigeria, Syria, Thailand, Taiwan - he's seriously been EVERYWHERE! We are so opposite, but I think that's why we work!

Theresa, I love to travel alone & just meet up with people.
I have friend Marcie I met her here on the DIS, she is my soul sister. I love that girl. We had never met until she went to Vegas last summer with me, my bff & her little sister. We had so much fun. Infact I only noticed her at the airport at first because of her luggage. :lmao: She had sent me the email of the luggage she was getting. We had so much fun in 4 days. I pretty much love Vegas. We have a wax museum in Victoria - it's cool, but kind of small. I would love to see the one in Vegas if we have time and energy :thumbsup2
That's great about the traveling and meeting up with friends. I had no idea if I would like it or not before March, but it was good (that's why I wanted to do Vegas - well, I wanted to join up before March, but I wanted to be sure first :rolleyes1). I did find out that I don't like packing my stuff (laptop) around by myself though  Usually Jesse (yes, my son ;)) carries that for me. I may have to look into getting one of those really small ones!

Madame Tussauds is supposed to be really cool. What I like is they let you pose for fun pics with all the figures. For example, they have Hugh Hefner on a bed, and I think you can sit on the bed like you are hanging out in the Playboy Mansion with Hef.

Hey Miss CheryL *BigHugs*
I painted 2 pieces on that wall.. the cross and madonna i showed...and the one on the right..the madonna and christ child... they are both spiritual abstractions. I never know what i am going to paint.. it just happens. I always think it comes through me, like i'm a vessel..rather than it comes from me.
The center picture along with the small one up in the upper right corner and the bottom small one are Gustav Klimts.. i love his art so very much, the use of patterns and color with passion.
I love Art **so** much. Going to museums is like eatting a meal, it just satiates and fills me! Guess You can tell I love art:rotfl2: My grandmother painted with me as a child and I love painting with my grandchildren.
I'll have to take a picture of a trinity i did.. they are oil and arcylic on very very very thick paper.. it's a trinity of woman.. Mind, Body and Spirit.
We will have to talk art sometime over wine, You have such great museums near You!

I haven't been responding much because I have been in the crappiest of crappy moods lately. I'm just super stressed about everything and I'd hate to get snippy at someone on the boards, so I refrain from posting.

By the way, I'd never been on Facebook until Cristabel had me sign up. Once upon a time I had a MySpace page, but that was WAY TOO MUCH DRAMA for me. People were very hurtful and I didn't need people talking about on their pages. I still don't fully understand Facebook. :upsidedow I mainly just work on my farm on Farm Town...I'm sure my boss appreciates that. Let's hope today is a better day:goodvibes Yesterday one of our cooling units went out downstairs and we had to have a crew of workmen come, then they said it had to be replaced and so they removed the old one then another crew came in the afternoon and didn't leave until 7:30!!! Why didn't the first guys put the new one in??:confused3 Our three little dogs were going crazy allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day... :headache: So now we have a new cooling unit on the ground floor.
Wednesday is my oldest granddaughters 7th birthday and everyone will come to my home to celebrate it:lovestruc it's going to be a hannah montanna birthday {she's going to get the bedside lamp, secret journal, dance mat and my mom bought her several special things when we were at disneyland on the girls trip, so she will get those now}.
Then thursday afternoon we are driving to the lakehouse up in the texas hill country to join with my husbands parents and celebrate my father in law's 78th birthday. He wants a bananna nut cake.. but with what kind of frosting?? i found caramel and chocolate and peanut butter?? we will see.:rotfl:
I'm going to a lakehouse in Texas Friday too

I called the Mirage and this is what I found out:
The first/best row for a Cat 2 ticket is Row P; we are getting Row R, which is just behind P (there's no Q). She also sald that Section 204 is a good section to see everything from. And the 25% discount is only available online, I can't call and get it. But she said if the 40% discount comes up for June, we can re-book and get refunded the difference. So we're looking at Section 204, Row R, seats 6-14, $103.13 + $5 service fee, $108.13 each.
Here's a link to the seating map: http://mirage-cds.admission.com/html/seatmap.htmI?l=EN&CNTX=71805&C=US
Hey Stacie - did we get those tickets???? If you posted and I mised it, sorry.

Don't get too excited--with this ex you never know whether he will show up or not--or he might say he won't be there and show up--it was one of our (many) "issues" --LOL
We will have more slumber parties, I'm sure! Maybe next year YOU can do MouseAdventure.
