No, no. I think it's the combo of chili + beer = stinkiness

Is that a joke? Please tell me it is.

No joke - just don't mix and match!!!

Blow out the eggs. Poke small holes at both ends and blow the egg out into a bowl. The rinse them out good and color the shells. Then you can make scrambled eggs or use the eggs in something else.

Sounds like a plan! I'll go just about anywhere if it means I don't have to cook. :rolleyes1

My tooth was hurting earlier, the one that is cracked and still needs to be extracted. Anyway, I took one of my left over Vicodin and now I am quite happy. :hippie: I rather like those little pills. :rotfl:

Why are they waiting to extract it?

I have tramadol for my knee...I like those pills...but the next day, I am lil bit of an airhead!
I am glad your tooth is feeling better.

Sorta the same question. Is this the surgery you're having in June? It seems so long if you're in pain. What, have we turned into Russia now?

You aren't the only one who uses that code. ;)

That sounds like someone has been on one to many adult toy sites. Just sayin.

.

insert laughing smilie here (my repaired powerbook cannot do the smilies in the right place anymore!)

Ummmm, lucky guess :confused3 :rolleyes1

I want barbecue too! We don't even own a barbecue right now - but we definitely need one before summer. The problem is I stink at barbecuing and Frank is no better (he burns everything :sad2:). There is only one really good BBQ restaurant anywhere near here too and it's quite far away - my son's fave restaurant though. It's called Memphis Blues and it is sooooo yummy!

Jesse won't color eggs any more, he's too cool like that :cool2: Just give him the goods and let him play XBox, thank you very much :snooty:

If neither of you can bbq, are you sure you want to buy one? We've thrown out more bbqs and even a smoker. It's sooo much easier to hop down to your fav bbq place and it sounds like you've got a great one.

I'm gonna go vote now (city elections)....

Donna, the dentist isn't waiting. I am. I have a horrible fear of the dentist and I've already had two extractions and I am just not ready to repeat the experience even though I know putting it off is only going to come back to haunt me.

Oh, and for the record, I've blown a few eggs before. (hush, I'm being serious!) It's so easy. Use a pin to poke a hole in the top and the bottom of the egg.
Get a bowl, and just blow in the top of the hole until the egg comes out the bottom hole and falls into the bowl. Then rinse the egg, let it dry, and decorate it. I did it when I was a kid for my mom for Easter one year. I used glue and glitter to make the egg and she kept it for years. :goodvibes

Oh, Beth, I feel for you. It should not be a horrible experience. Maybe you need a different dentist?

I've also blown eggs too. A long time ago. It's pretty easy (as Lauren Bacall said, you just put your lips together and blow).

This way you get to keep the Easter eggs. Make the hole at the far end slightly bigger for easy removal.

Always keep extra ice cream or whatever special treats the kids like. And hide them in the back so they don't know they are there. And then you have instant sitter.

When you guys are here in June, Ruben and I will be celebrating our 16 year anniversary. But we've been together as a couple for 21 years. We met when I was 13, started dating at age 16 and have been together ever since. :goodvibes

Stacie, have a great time tomorrow!!! :wizard:

:goodvibes

OK, back to your gutter minds now. :rotfl:

ok...you guys are really too much....

but this totally reminds me of when I was little. my stepdad put eggs in my easter basket and told me they were "alligator eggs". I was completely fooled and told all my friends at school that I had gotten these. Of course he had "blown" :rotfl: the eggs, then dunked them in liquid jello, then refrigerated them until the jello set, then rinsed and dried them. And then decorated them like regular eggs. Because the inside was all jello-y I totally fell for it. The holes are so small that I didn't even think that you could do something like that. I never even noticed the holes.

No, that's fine. The only real reason I don't drink is I haven't found a drink I like. But since I like most desserts, it shouldn't be a problem. LOL!

You still have to try my Malibu and White Cranberry-Strawberry juice drink.

Aww, that's nice. :goodvibes

When I was in the preop room, dressed in my very lovely gown and elf slippers, he was saying goodbye to the girls when the nurse walked in. Nice!! hi Dawn
26 years...oh my...

Fun stuff for the baskets. My kids are not allowed to have jump ropes.
There was this incident with Jordan, Jazmine, Kenzi & a jump rope...

In my old, old house I had a huge swing set in the backyard. Well at school the kids did this jump rope for heart thing. Ok so they were in the backyard playing. They were going down the slide with the jump ropes around them. Jordans got stuck. He was basically getting hung. Kenzi was at the bottom pushing him up & Jaz was trying to get the rope from around his neck. Well luckily they got the rope off. That night I was like Jordan why do you have a bruise around your neck? Well more like a burn. Oh they lied their butts off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So a few wks later Kenzi slipped up and said she was so scared she thought Jordan was going to die. Her mom had asked why she had a bruise on her back & side that looked like a foot print.
Gessh these kids....So they were all in trouble, mostly for lying & mainly for not getting an adult.

So no jump ropes are allowed at our house. I remember the next year at Jump Rope for Heart, they were both like we are not allowed to touch jump ropes. :lmao: and looked at the jump ropes just scared & like the thing was going to bite them.

I know, luckily they didn't run. They helped each other. At some point something happened to Jazmines neck also. She has the same burn on her neck. Jordan & Jaz are inseperable. It will be pretty sad when the other one starts dating someone. I will have to find pictures of Jordan when he was a baby & Jaz was 14 months old. They were so cute!!

Yay :cheer2: I wish it was June already.

I think we are having chinese tonight. Jordan really wants sushi, but I am so not sure about that.

Go for sushi - it's good (OK - not all the raw fishy stuff is good, for sure, but there is lots of stuff that is yummy!!). We're really lucky because we are both (DH and me) fairly adventurous when it comes to food. We both love different cuisines, so I really did not want my son to be one of the children who will only eat McDonald's or PB&J. Good thing - he would much rather go for sushi or Greek food than to McD's :thumbsup2 (not that he doesn't enjoy that once in a while, but he likes all different kinds of food too!!).

She didn't learn to make that til i was in high school. So when i was little my best friends mother taught me how to cook allll kinds of wonderful mexican food.
In fact my parents and her parents are still the best of friends and are going to visit them in 3 weeks. It's nice to have old friends and wonderful new friends like *you*

I can cook some things, but not many. Raw meat repulses me, so I'm pretty much out of luck when it comes to that. If I can put it in the microwave, oven or only need to boil water, then I am set!

2. Cooking Directions
Combine coconut milk, chiles, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, lime juice and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes, tossing occasionally. Drain well, reserving marinade.
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook, turning once, until barely pink, about 30 seconds per side; transfer to a plate. Add tomato and spinach to the pan; cook, stirring, until the spinach starts to wilt, about 30 seconds. Add the reserved marinade; simmer until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes. Return the shrimp and any accumulated juices to the pan; heat through. Serve immediately.
Yield: 4 servings

3. Still Hungry?
Vibrant Southeast Asian seasonings are a natural with shrimp. Freeze any leftover coconut milk or refrigerate it for several days; you can use it instead of broth or water to cook rice or enrich a curry.

Notes:
Tips

Freeze any leftover coconut milk or refrigerate it for several days; you can use it instead of broth or water to cook rice or enrich a curry or rice pudding (visit www.eatingwell.com for recipe suggestions).

Cooking with frozen shrimp: Individually quick-frozen shrimp, sold in resealable bags, are convenient to keep in your freezer. Thaw in a covered bowl in the refrigerator. If you're in a hurry, place shrimp in a colander under cold running water for about 5 minutes.

Forgot to mention...

My stripper name: Ophelia

Also, I would like to do TFDU, but need to see if I can re-arrange a scheduling conflict. Please let me know when it's time to buy tickets so that I can see what I can work out between now and then.

Hello Ophelia. I am still put out that my name is so wrong.

That is exactly what I pictured when you said you bought a bunny costume, Stacie.

I thought it was really odd you hoped your bf would like it.

But then there are - what do they call them...? not furries?

So the tickets we need to pre-pay for are Love, Tony and Tina's, Stripper 101, and Thunder, right? I looked at Lucky Cheng's and we need a reservation, but not pre-pay.

If it's possible, I can reserve Lucky Cheng's - because I have a Canadian cc, I get womped with exchange fees, increased exchange rates, etc. I could definitely send a US money order to whoever can order the tickets we need to pre-pay for (or PayPal).

OK, we'll put you in charge of Lucky Cheng's.

Those are the shows we need to pre-pay for. Again, Love would be the first one we'd need to book once everyone is ready.
The others we can wait on, and might even be able to find some cheap tickets for as it gets closer.

I'm gonna let y'all in on a little secret. This is a radio show that Ruben and I listen to all the time. We've gotten some amazing deals from here. You can listen to it on the internet. And anyone can sign up to get specials here in Vegas. You don't have to live here. If you live out of town, for a small fee you can have tickets mailed out to you.

They offer discounts to shows, shopping, spas, restaurants, etc. Some of them have specific restrictions so you have to be aware of that. But it's come in very handy for us!!

Here is the link: http://www.kshp.com/catalog/index.asp Click on shopper's guide.

Their stuff changes all the time, and sometimes the prices they have listed there will go even cheaper!! For example the other day, for one day only, they had Barry Manilow tickets, VIP section, retail is $400 for a pair, the show normally sells them for $200 for a pair, but they were on special for only $99 for the pair!! For VIP seats, literally like 3 rows from the stage!

But the dates didn't work for us, so I didn't get them. So you can find really good deals if you listen to the show. Anyway, just thought I'd pass that along either for the trip or for any future visits.

We listen all the time, so if any of the shows we are doing show up, I will let y'all know. Everyone might want to register just in case, because sometimes you are limited on how many you can buy and we all might have to buy our own.

Sounds good :thumbsup2

I was checking out vegas.com and they have a special group ticket price for Stripper 101 that I didn't see on the website. It's called the Pearl Package and it's $50/person (for 6 or more) for the class, drink, photo, and a t-shirt. On the website the Ruby Package is $60/person and includes only the class, drink, and photo. The other is the Saphire Package $40/person and only includes a drink, no photo.

They had the 101 class on the radio show not that long ago! I don't remember the price but it was better then what's offered online. The certificates sometimes expire within 90 days, so that's why I didn't get it. We were too far out at the time.
But I'm keeping an ear out for it to be offered again. :yay:

I definitely want the package with the photo. ;)

Yep I am coming with the kids. We are doing the ToT party. What is the Halloween tour?

What day are you doing the party? Thurs or Friday?? The Halloween tour is fun. It's kind of Disneyland more from the villain's and bad guy's perspective with some fun "twists" and stuff. We did it last year and we really had a great time (it was REALLY crowded in DL though!!). You go on a few rides too - TOT, Big Thunder, Snow White, and Haunted Mansion. My son wants to do this again - it was his favorite part.

I love October. Fall is my favorite time of year, Halloween is my favorite holiday and my birthday is in there. Plus it's the kick off to the holiday season. :)

Woo hoo :woohoo: We were going to bring my sister and her two sons in October, but she called me the other day and said she probably will not be able to come ($$$). I was a little confused because the ONLY thing she had to pay for was their passports, which I just will not pay for. I know, I'm mean, but please..... Jesse and I will still go then. I'm a little bummed though because we really wanted to go with them (they've never been) and Jesse would love to do stuff with some kids his own age (apparently I'm not quite as cool as I thought I was ). Jesse is 13 - just started high school. I'm sure he would love to hang out with another boy! He does not look 13 though - he's over 6 feet tall already! He told me the other day he was walking home from school with his friend (they're both in grade 8 - first year of high school) and this car with two girls stopped and they were hitting on them :scared1: Yikes - if they have a car, they are WAY older than 13. I call him stud now :rotfl:

I think all the dates for the ToT party are basically the same. DL is what gets really crowded because DCA closes down for the party. I won't be able to get our tickets until they go on sale for the general public because my AP expires at the beginning of May :sad1: We're thinking of going the last week of August (I heard that's a fairly good time to go - school is back in for most kids then, right? Not in Canada though.....) Since I seem to be saving a bit of cash from October, we have the funds to go twice :thumbsup2

Stacie, the theater isn't that big, and when it comes to Love there is lots of activity up in the air as well as all around the stage. If you sit too close, you are actually worse off as you will miss a lot of the action on stage, and be craning your necks to see what's going on up top. (although keep in mind, Love does NOT have nearly as much acrobatic action as KA or Mystere, so if some of you are hoping for that you might be disappointed, it's more about the music and dance)

I can't recall exactly where we sat when Ruben and I saw it, but it was either section 203,204,205 or 206 (the smaller sections) in row L or M. The seats were great as we were far enough back to see the action up high and on the opposite side of the stage.

It's up to y'all who are going since I won't be there, but just wanted to give you the heads up that it's NOT like a concert where front row is better. In this case, being a little bit back, is a good thing.

Jesse is 13 - just started high school. I'm sure he would love to hang out with another boy! Adam is the opposite. He's very short for his age. Noelle is taller then him which irritates him to no end. :rotfl2:

Hmmm. Try to stick with sections 203, 204, 205, and 206 but down lower. See if you can find something in rows K,L,M, N or O.

Row R is getting a little bit up there. Although some of Ruben's coworkers have seen it and sat even farther back than that and said it was fine. But try for the first 5 rows in those sections.

Oh, it's good. I loved it and I was not a Beatles fan going into it.
It's just doesn't focus as much on the acrobatics as some of the other Cirque shows do. But out of all the ones I've seen it was in my top two, second only to KA. I'd still highly recommend it.

I think at the hotel where the shows are (like MGM for Ka) they have some dates with 25% of tickets, but they only show the current month, so who knows if that will be around in June!! Plus, 10 seats together - better to get the tickets early or we will all be sitting in different sections!

Peppermill Fireside Lounge is real Las Vegas wrapped into one simple lounge where you check your ego at the door and relax old school.

They are supposed to have a drink called the Scorpion that is described as girlie and huge!

I don't know where to fit it in though unless we go here for drinks instead of Diablos on Tuesday or we hit it our first night on Sunday for dinner and drinks instead of Margaritaville. :confused3 Or just skip it and keep things as they are.

I'll go with Beth's recs. She sounds like she's on top of this with the seating. It's just not that big of a theater and to be so close to where you are almost eye level with the stage is actually putting you at a disadvantage.
Plus the seats further back are cheaper.

I wish I knew what discounts are coming up. Ruben took his mom to see Le Reve in March using a buy one, get one free discount!

Those are the two I was interested in - Ka and Love (well, Mystere as well :rotfl:)

Well, KA and Love are totally different. Both are good in their own way. KA is intense and dark with lots of action. Love is light and fun.

It's up to y'all if you want to wait. I'm not saying to get them now. Discounts might come out and then I don't want anyone to be kicking themselves because they didn't wait. It's a gamble.
You might end up not sitting together but you would probably be close. Maybe two here, three there, that sort of thing.

Also I was thinking about Tony and Tina's wedding and I think we can wait on those and pick them up the day of the show. Sometimes those tickets show up at the discount vendors on the Strip (like Tickets2Nite or Tixkets4Tonight) and it would be nice to save some money on that.

I read the reviews and they were pretty good. But they did all say it was funky, meaning it's not the Bellagio. :snooty: More like cheesy with the waitresses in cocktail gowns, plastic plants, and flamingos. :rotfl: Sort of stuck in a 70's time warp. But fun with cheap drinks. :confused3 I don't drink so that won't matter for me though. LOL It's up to you guys if you want to check it out.

So do ya'll eat ribs? :confused3

Damn skippy!

I do - yummy!!!

PS - those turkey legs are a bit much. I saw an entire family eating them in DCA in March (4 little kids - each with their own HUGE turkey leg :rotfl2:)

Hey girlie girls!

i love ribs too. I try to tell my husband that i love bbq Only for the sauce.. i like the sauce cooked on the bbq meat.. so it's sticky. He says, You just want me to BBQ PoPsicLe sticks with sauce on them for you... and i say...yesssssssssssss:snooty:

My friend paula is so funny, she won't eat ribs in public because she says she feels like a dog gnawing on a bone.

I was going to take my mom in october for her birthday but we decided to do a family trip in dec instead and stay at the GC. So i don't see us going in the fall..as i'll be paying for 2 rooms during our christmas trip and my Father is in poor health so i want to get with vacation planning and send the coffee basket and the robes to the room for surprises for them.

I kinda feel like your friend Paula. But I love ribs so much that I have gotten over it. I eat them in public. Even if I feel like a dog gnawing on a bone.

Although..who knows.. i may have to go because after all it's my birthdayyyyyy and then it's my mom's birthdayyyy so we may go twice in the fall.

Disneyland seems to be an addiction for me.

Not a bad addiction.:thumbsup2

I'm good on where y'all want to sit for Love--or any of the other shows. (Except not close enough to get stripper sweat on me!)

Im with Cheryl. Doesn't matter where we sit....just no stripper sweat.

And like others mentioned.....with the Cirque shows, you don't need to be the closest to the stage to have the best seat. A little up and back can be better. JMO.

I put together a slide show of some of the things we are doing. Some of the pics are from the internet and some are ones I've taken. http://www.rockyou.com/show_my_gallery.php?source=ppsl&instanceid=135836295

Also Stacerita, have you ever been here?? I've always wanted to go as it looks so neat. http://www.usmenuguide.com/peppermillfireside.html
It's a 24 hour restaurant and lounge.

Here are some pics: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Peppermill+Fireside+Lounge%20Las+Vegas&w=all
They are supposed to have a drink called the Scorpion that is described as girlie and huge!

I don't know where to fit it in though unless we go here for drinks instead of Diablos on Tuesday or we hit it our first night on Sunday for dinner and drinks instead of Margaritaville. :confused3 Or just skip it and keep things as they are.

Thoughts ladies?

That sounds like it might be fun.

It looks fun. Very old school Vegas and kitchsy. It's also near the Riviera so we could walk down there if we wanted as I know that's one of Cheryl's faves. ;)

I'm just not sure where to squeeze it in unless we go there instead of Diablos, but that was Stacie's idea and I don't want to step on any toes :flower3:, so that's why I was running it by her.
I'm open for anything.

Also I was thinking about Tony and Tina's wedding and I think we can wait on those and pick them up the day of the show. Sometimes those tickets show up at the discount vendors on the Strip (like Tickets2Nite or Tixkets4Tonight) and it would be nice to save some money on that.
It's not as popular as the Cirque shows so I don't see it selling out.

That's funny and weird all at the same time. ::yes::

No worries, my toes are fine. I just tossed out Diablos because I was there last month and it was decent. Wasn't all trendy, no glamazons, no cover and right on the strip. Plus it had a live band the night I was there. But I am up for anywhere. Doesn't matter to me. Peppermill might be fun. Kitchey (sp) and all. And the scorpion looks yummy.

I was at the Peppermill years ago--unless they've cleaned it up it was a dive--but a nice dive! And I want a Scorpion too!

Yeah, love me the Riv. Especially love that the bathrooms have needle disposal bins.

Yes, the rosa is wonderful. I can understand why you all were so over the moon about this grape. It's quite delicious although it had a tendency to give me a headache even though I had a half flute. Could have just been me.

It's very strange that this one place has it in Hawaii since Magicale is exclusive to Disney. And the cost of shipping anything to Hawaii drives up the retail price, so it's very odd. Anyway, you won't find Magicale in Vegas.

If someone is driving maybe they will drive over a couple of bottles of the rosa to Vegas. I can help them locate the bottles or get some to them if the driver can't find them in OC.

On the V. pins, they always come in the same pairs. So if you got Yeti, you got teacups. Did you find that Ebay name? Shoot me a PM or email when you do, please, rather than post it here.

Deb, the problem is you cannot ship wine to Canada. Unless you are a winery/shipper. They have very strict regulations about this.

Beth, the wine is called Rosa Regale by Banfi - there are some 2006s and a lot of 2007s around. It's at some Costcos and some places that have a good wine selection. Someone said it tastes just like Magicale, it's the same grape, sparkling... It will be near the sparkling wines. Near proscecco because it's from Italy.

OMG, you guys are NOT going to believe this!!!!

Guess what I just read??

First time locals offer for Beatles Love! Only locals can purchase tickets starting at just $60!
Limit 6 tickets per transaction with valid Nevada ID.
$60 ticket price is based on a 40% discount off of category 3 pricing; other price categories after discount are $90 for category 1, and $75 for category 2.

Pretty good, right??

Get this:
Offer available for select performances now through May 31, 2009. :headache:  :sad2:

Beth, the wine is called Rosa Regale by Banfi - there are some 2006s and a lot of 2007s around. It's at some Costcos and some places that have a good wine selection. Someone said it tastes just like Magicale, it's the same grape, sparkling... It will be near the sparkling wines. Near proscecco because it's from Italy.

Thanks! I will keep an eye out for that.

OMG, you guys are NOT going to believe this!!!!

Guess what I just read??

Pretty good, right??

Get this:
:headache:  :sad2:

Darn it. That would have been so perfect!!!!!! The seats we were looking at were Cat. 2 I believe, so they would have been 75 bucks. Shoot.
How ironic that we were just talking about this today. And I was telling you I'd never seen a locals offer for Love. Sure enough, that's what it says, "First time locals offer." Ugh.

Anyone wanna come a month earlier? :rolleyes1

That stinks!!

Yes, it's just for Theresa. (those of us in the US can get it here). It should be around $16-22 for a 750ml bottle (that's like a normal size). Sometimes you find it in smaller bottles. It's not that hard to find, I'll get there's some in Vegas. It's mainly a dessert wine as it's sweet, but can be for before dinner as well.

That stinks!!:mad:Yes, it really does. That would have saved everyone so much money.

Hey, you and your BF will be here while the promo is on. Is he interested in seeing the show? :confused3

It had me going to. I was reading it and going OMG :yay: OMG :yay: OMG :yay: .
Then I read the fine print.  :sad2:

May can still hit 100 degrees, but you seem to get more discounts. I heard that lots of discounts are offered in summer because it's hot and no one wants to come here then, but honestly so far I haven't noticed that. Summer is hot yes, but it's still packed!

Who knows though. I'll keep an eye out. Besides the timeshare and flights have been booked and I don't think they can be changed without penalties. :confused3
