That's right! I've seen that!! And sometimes they even have discounts. I'd be up for that. We can go back home and show our hubby's what we learned. :lmao:
With a bunch of friends, I think it would be a blast.

Or we can use it to earn more money for our next Disney trip. Im not saying, I'm just saying.

OMG! I SO want to do that!

Another wannbe stripper.

OK, why of course? What did I miss?? Who's Peter?
I would think she'd go more for the name Edward......... :rotfl:

Because Wendy was in love with Peter Pan.

But yeah. She probably would like Edward more. Edward Monkey.

According to this quiz (http://www.quizilla.com/quizzes/result/577377/414278/) it should be Ryan, Bob or Randy. Peter works too! What should his last name be?

Took the quiz for myself and it should be......read, alex, or tyler.

Read, huh? Now that's interesting.

Zoolander is on tv right now and in this scene they are playing that Jitterbug song from Wham. That song is now going to be stuck in my head for days!
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing since I am an 80's gal. I actually love it. :cool1:

Just trying to catch up again...when did this thread get so busy!?!?

Dare I ask.............bras in the freezer????? :scared1:

I'm guessing you never got your bra frozen at a sleepover... I don't think I ever did, and I was definitely never part of it ... really ... NEVER!!

According to this quiz (http://www.quizilla.com/quizzes/result/577377/414278/) it should be Ryan, Bob or Randy. Peter works too! What should his last name be?

I'm voting against Ryan ... and we all know why!!

Like I said, NO to Ryan!!

Just so everyone knows, and I'm not a prude or anything, just uncomfortable with all the stripper stuff so don't count me in for any of that. Everything else so far is GOOD!!

So far, we have 4 people for the timeshare who have paid, Wendy, Cheryl, Stacie and me (the other Stacie). We can have up to 6 in each, so I don't think we'll need to get another one, unless we don't want to have to sleep on the sofa bed. But, if we only do 3-4 in each, the cost will be a little more per person.

OMG, that is too funny about the name Ryan. OK, no Ryan then. Maybe we should go with Peter. It could be a good story about how cute it was to be a couple named Peter and Wendy, especially since they are both Disney fans. :lmao: OH! We can say they met at Disneyland!! It was fate. :rotfl:

I was wondering what day everyone was planning on getting there?

I am getting so excited that I have been researching things to do and such. So does anyone have any plans or must sees? Things they don't want? Pool lounging time? Nightlife? Meals? Do we want to go with tentative plans? Or just play the whole thing by ear?

Stacie, check the front page for the timeshare info. I think there is a link there. I'm trying to keep this thread like our DL trip thread, with everything listed on the front.

You know, I can't even remember what the actual trip dates were!! :rotfl2: I'm losing my mind. Of course in my case, I'll already be here.

I would love to do an interactive show like the Tony and Tina's wedding. Something were we can still talk to each other and hang out. kwim?
But Lion King, and any of the Cirque shows would be good too.

The only thing I'm not big on, is shopping. Most of the casinos have stores that I don't know anyone who can afford them!! :confused3 The Forum shops are fun to walk around, but they are still expensive too. But if everyone else wants to shop, I can tag along and watch y'all spend your money. ;)

Maybe we can do the drive up wedding chapel. It's quicker that way. Leaves more time in the week for the bachelorette party and the divorce party. Those are usually better then the actual marriage anyway. :rotfl:

It seems like a nice place! And the price is simply unbeatable. Besides, no one will be spending much time in the room anyway. Too many things to do, places to go, shows to see, food to eat, and men to meet! :thumbsup2

Hi friends!

I hadn't paid too much attention to this thread as I was supposed to be at DLR during the week you are planning for instead of here in Vegas.

BUT, my niece's mother got wind of the military discount (her stepdad is in the Army) that they are doing right now, and consequently it looks like we are going to have a change of dates and that I will be at Disney the first week of June instead of the third week of June. SOOOOOO, it looks like I will be able to join in some of the Vegas fun and debauchery after all, although maybe not all of it since I will have to work that week (can't be too hung over at work and I will need to show up for at least a few hours every day)!

Anyhow, I need to go back and catch up on the first twenty pages of the thread, but I would be up for any shows and evening type activities.

What should be tweaked? You know. I tried to get a little of everything in it. This was what I was thinking........

Plan away! I'm open for anything. And we can always tweak it as we go along if need be.

Only two things I'd suggest. One, add another show time. I know they can be costly, but if we go to Ticket2Nite we can get some deals and that's part of what Vegas is known for.
Are we going to do Dick's? And leave room for a Witch Doctor at the VooDoo lounge. ;)
And two, don't forget to do all the freebies like the fountains, pirate show, volcano, conservatory, lions at MGM, and M&M World. They are free so might as well right? :)

Do you have your heart set on the chocolate factory? I only ask, because I've been there dozens of times, and it's rather boring......:rolleyes1 (Sshhhh, don't tell my kids I feel that way! LOL)

We are definitely going to have to work to cram it all in. I want Miss Wendy, our Vegas virgin, to see it ALL!!! :cool1:

It really is. I mean if we had tons of extra time, I'd do it, but there are better things to see. They have a cactus garden that they decorate for Christmas that is spectacular, but that time of year it will be hot and boring. LOL I'd rather buy some chocolate on the Strip and save that 1-2 hours for something else.

So I was a bit bored during lecture tonight. Hard to believe since it was the first class meeting. Anywho....I couldn't help but let my mind wander and do a little planning. Sorry if I am going overboard with it, can't help it. So I came up with a sample trip plan. Let me know what you guys think. What do we need to add? What do we need to get rid of? What should be tweaked? You know. I tried to get a little of everything in it. This was what I was thinking........

Mon------Arrive, Late lunch @ Dick's Last Resort, Hang on the Strip
Tues-----Hang by the pool, Bar Hopping/Bachelorette party, Show?
Wed-----Stripper 101, Fremont Street at night, Slumber Party
Thurs----Hang by the pool, Buffet Dinner@____________, Show?
Fri------- Chapel Wedding, Mr. Chengs Drag Cafe, Hang on the Strip
Sat------Brunch then go home

I made a few additions to the tentative plans. Mr Chengs is dark on mondays so I moved it to the end of the week. I added another show like Beth suggested, took out the chocolate factory, and added Dick's Last Resort.

Plans are still flexible and not set in stone. Will probably change many times. So give your imput.

I think you guys should since you'll be here. I know I want to see it, but I probably won't be able to see it with y'all since Ruben also wants to see it and we are going to try to find a time to go together.

It is expensive though, so I guess it depends on everyone's budget. :confused3

I don't gamble, shop or drink, so shows are my favorite thing to do in Vegas. :goodvibes

If we can find resonable tickets I say yes. I checked out the site Beth had told us about "tickets2nite" and we should look into that. I also saw a few other sites that "locals" can use for cheap tickets. That might be another option.

Unfortunately, you won't find tickets for Lion King there. Those discount ticket places mainly sell ones for shows that are older, or don't always sell out. We might be able to use them for things like comedies, or Tony and Tina's wedding, etc. On occasion you can find KA or Zumanity on there. You have to go that day and see what they have for that evening.
For Lion King tickets they will most likely run you over $100 depending on where you sit.

The Mandalay Bay website says tickets won't go on sale online until Feb. 28, but you can use the Disney Visa info to book now. Stacie, do you still have the PM I sent you with that info?

Yup! I just checked online and the tickets are $113.50, $83, and $56; you can look at the seating chart of the theater (http://www.ticketmaster.com/seatingchart/188734/25940). The 3 different pricing levels are Main Level/Front Mezzanine Center, Front Mezzanine Sides/Rear Mezzanine Center, and Rear Mezzanine Sides.

Goldstar.com is another site that has pretty cheap tickets. Give it a look. It changes all the time. So as it gets closer we can keep looking and seeing if a show comes up. Sometimes the tickets are 50% off. Great deals.

hey, I'm up for almost anything (not sure about the stripper thing--is it THEM stripping or US stripping? :scared1: --I've missed something somewhere along the way!) I would like to see shows--the people I usually go with (ex-BF and Mom) aren't really show people.

I do, however, need gambling time. Yes, girls, I am a gambler--a small stakes gambler but I do love my slot machines and an occasional hand of blackjack . . . . and maybe the roulette wheel . . . .and maybe some craps . . . .well, and . . . . So, like we do at DL I anticipate I will need some "alone" time to go feed my passion (the gambling one at least!)

At least there's one more gambler among us! I was starting to think I would have to play blackjack by myself. Or the slots. I don't understand craps, DH plays it and he's tried to explain it to me several times, but there's too much to try and understand. And I also play roulette. When I was little, maybe 5 or younger, when my mom would take me over my aunt's house, we would play roulette, so I'm a pro!!

In the Stripper 101 class, no one actually strips. They teach us how to work the pole and a chair. Its a cardio type class. But its supposed to make us feel more sexy and have fun.

Once our March trip is over, I think it's good we will have this one to plan and look forward to. :yay:

I hate the after vacation blues, but it will only be about 3 months until this trip by then, so I'm hoping that helps keep the blues away this time. :)

I like keeping in the planning mode. Once one vacation is over, I like to jump right in a start planning another one. I don't like the after vacation blues. I am looking forward to both trips.

LOL--I have to share this eharmony moment. This guy had been really "on it" about posting to me--I mean really quick in responding and so forth.

So, there's this list of "must haves" and "don't wants" that everyone posts and gets sent at a point in the process. On this one's list was that the woman had to be "traditional and reserved" in their sexual activities. So, the next step is where you get to make up your own questions. And I asked him that I hadn't seen that response previously and what does "traditional and reseved sexual activities" mean to him.

I haven't heard from him in three days. He's completely dropped off the radar.

And then he answered my question by saying that after he retired he wanted to get a big motorhome and drive around. My parents were into that when I was growing up and I HATED it. So I nicely wrote him back and told him I was sorry but I didn't really see any future since our wants were different. And then he responded that he was really good at compromising. Talk about desparate! I'm going to wait a day or so and then "close" his profile.

I would love to join you all on this trip, as I LOVE Vegas and haven't been for a few years. Not sure if I could really pull it off, as it is right when school ends for my kids and father's day too. I was able to do my girls trip to WDW a few months ago, so I may get whining from DH and the kids if I try to run away again....LOL
I have not been able to put any extra thought into it, because my oldest son is getting married at the end of May, so I haven't been looking past their date so far this year.

Jill: I am probably driving (like having a car in Vegas) and may not stay the entire week. I think for now those going were staying in the timeshare. If there is enough interest (and it is available) Stacie was going to book a second timeshare. Not sure if the first one is "full" or not.

Jane, I will add you to the list. ;)

Jill, we'd love for you to join us!! I hope you can. I think the girls from CA were going to get together for a road trip. And so far they are all staying in a time share but that may change if we get more added. Some might end up in a hotel.
Plans were stalled for a bit to focus on the DL trip but now we can move forward with this!!

I plan on driving up there. As much as I love to fly there, it takes almost just as long to drive when you figure you have to get there so early to the airport. I am probably going Monday through Friday or Saturday.

I just checked and there is still a 1 bedroom unit for 4 available for that week. Please PM me if you are interested; it is $56/person and there would have to be 4 people interested. There are still 2 openings in the first unit we have, but we would have to trade off sleeping on the sleeper sofa.

Are you gals still thinking about seeing The Lion King while you are here in June?
If so, you'd better hurry and figure out when because tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow morning. Initially they were only on sale for those with a Disney Visa, but once they go on sale for everyone, they might sell out for certain dates, especially summertime when it's busier here.

Just an FYI. :)

Oh, and Stacie, is there still room in the timeshare. Marcie isn't coming, but Debra is. PM her your address where she can send the money. :thumbsup2

I've never been a fan of Cher. But I bet some others might be game.

So we were down on the Strip today. Took the kids to see a pet comedy show at Planet Hollywood. Anyway, that's where they do the Stripper 101 class and I was passing right by the doors to where they hold the class and I was cracking up. I can't wait to do that! I hope some of you are still up for it.

How many are interested? I might have a way to get us some discount tickets, but I'd need a count and a date.

Sounds good! Do you want to mail me the $56 to make it official, or wait until you're sure? I actually don't know what days everyone else is staying. The first day is Father's Day so if I come out that day, it will be later. Also, since no one else is close by, I'll probably have to end up flying; don't really want to drive by myself. So... can someone pick me up from the airport? Pretty please??

I can probably only be there in the evenings since Ruben works. I'm going to try to find out his exact schedule though.
So I'd like to put in my request for some of the evening fun.....

If possible one night, I'd love to eat at Dick's and then from there go to the Thunder from Down Under show. (they are both in the same hotel, the Excalibur)

Also one night I'd love to hang out at the VooDoo lounge in the Rio and get Witch Doctor drinks. http://www.flickr.com/photos/13224176@N00/2080410315/ (we can do that early one night right after it opens before that place gets packed and turns into the meat market it usually is)
While we are at the Rio, maybe we can sign up to ride in the floats in the Show in the Sky. http://www.riolasvegas.com/casinos/rio/casino-misc/masquerade-show-in-the-sky-detail.html

Those are the only two things I can think of right now. Oh, and I think a group of us going to Tony and Tina's wedding would be a hoot. It's a show but it's interactive and includes dinner too. http://www.tonyandtinavegas.com/

Ok, I am totally down for the Stripper 101 and Thunder from Down Under. Got to support lap dancing you know. And plus, I got my stripper cash ready.

I am all about going out and drinking, but I just can't stand the ultra trendy places that are basically a barbie doll convention/meat market/how little can I wear and still be dressed type places. Other than that, I'm in.

Rio sounds fun, but James' ex works there. I would hate to run into her. She doesn't really like me. Never has.

Tony and Tina's sounds fun. I could be up to do that. I would also like to do a comdey show or something really vegas like a lounge show of some type. I am all about La Cage too.

I am going to be there this weekend and we are doing the spa one day. If that works out well, and the prices aren't too crazy, we could maybe do that one night. The place is open 24 hours. Get a cheap massage, then hang out in the mud/jade room/salt room/theater and such.

Definitely need to do all the stuff on the strip. Can you believe I have never seen the fountians first hand? Nope, not once. Only in movies. And I can easliy be talked into doing a pub/lounge crawl. Drink from one hotel to the next you know.

Its actually relaxing. I love it.

OMG, the fountains are a must. They are my favorite thing on the Strip. I could watch them all day. I have a feeling if you all are drinking from one hotel to the next I am going to be designated walker............meaning, I'll be the one walking behind you to make sure you don't pass out and crack your head open on the sidewalk. :rotfl2:

I dont' think I have ever fallen down while drinking. So I think I am good.

And does it have internet access?

We have it June 21-28. From their description: Each suite offers a full kitchen, washer/dryer, private patio, air conditioning, cable TV, DVD player, wireless internet, Roman Tubs and your own fireplace!

Hmmm, how many do you think we could fit in the Roman tub? Clothed, of course!

I dont' think I have ever fallen down while drinking. So I think I am good.

I think that's a challenge for my camera!! :scared1:

Of course we've got your back!! :cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

YAY, I'm glad your ok with going to the Rio Stacie. I think we'll have a blast at the VooDoo lounge, and those Witch Doctor drinks will make for some awesome pics. Plus I think it would be fun to ride in those floats. :yay:

If I come out Sunday, it will be later, otherwise it will be Monday. If no one else is coming on Sunday, I'll probably just wait until Monday. And probably stay until at least Friday, probably Sunday though.
OK, well, that clears that right up. :lmao:

And you have to do the stripping thing with us. It's fun and good exercise.

You and I can compare OG stories. ;)

Stacie: have a great time in Vegas and scope out all the fun things to do (and stay away from the Rio since you won't have your girls there as back-up!)

EXERCISE???????? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Yes, but remember there are two categories of exercise. Fun exercise that doesn't seem like exercise such as stripping and uh, ahem, other things. :rolleyes1

Then there is the icky exercise like sit ups and running. And we'll have none of that on this trip, I promise you. ;)

Stacie: have a great time in Vegas and scope out all the fun things to do (and stay away from the Rio since you won't have your girls there as back-up!)

Hey yall! I am back from Vegas and had a fun trip. I got me meet up with Beth for lunch today so that was good. I did scope out a few things that I think we would have fun doing. A few bars that were fun, but low key and not chichi. And those who like massages, I found a great place. I know I will be planning on getting one during the week sometime.

One of the bars was Diablo's. It was right on the strip, had an upstairs open air area, and a live band. Downstairs was a DJ. We liked it there. We also had fun at one of the lounges at Paris. They had a DJ and dancing going on. The other bar we hit was Dixie's Dam Bar at Hooter's. Fun there too. And we got into all those places for free.

There were a few other places that we went to that were fun. But those were the ones I enjoyed the most. Also had a great meal at the italian place in New York New York.

So let's get to planning!!

I'd love to go to Diablo's. That looks fun. :woohoo:

Diablo's is fun. I love live bands. And the one that was there the other night did cover a lot of other bands. So that was fun.

And as far as the massages go, they are clothed in the accupressure area, and only the person getting the massage is as nakie as they feel comfortable. The locker room is where there is nudity. Everywhere else is ok. But yeah, cracks me up too.
