You will love the Lion King. I saw it the last time it was in LA and its amazing. I loved it so much that I sent my dad and Tay to see it since they didn't go with me when I saw it. Its one of my top faves.

There is a local's deal I can use for $10 a ticket, but I can only buy four tickets. (one for myself, and three others) And I think we Madame Tussauds was something just about everyone was in for.

I wish I knew if Jane was joining us for that. She has a locals ID too and could get four more tickets. (Amy doesn't have her Nevada ID yet)

This afternoon my mom and i are going to look for a long red or black dress to make the skirt of her Queen of hearts costume. We decided to make it from reconstructed materials so it's a green project. I've sketched it all out and my top priority is that she feels comfortable in it.

So one more day closer to Vegas, I confess I feel guilty going because there are people i love who are struggling with illness or hardship. But i have done all i can for each:guilty:
I know this will be a happy trip with lots of fun memories for everyone. :goodvibes

I've been away forever....still busy with work and school has started up again. Waiting for our closing date on the house still but it is lining up to look like we are moving the week of the trip (of course)!! At this point it looks like I may just be able to join you all for Love and Ka. If anyone wants my stripper 101 spot they can have it....no need to pay for it...it's on me!

I will try try try to arrange to have the Thurs off so I can join in the shopping and lunch day...that is Paul's day off so it would be the easiest to arrange. If I can't get off work maybe I can go in real early and work till lunchtime then meet you at Town Square.

Loved Tommy Bahamas so I would love to eat there again. The decor was so relaxing!! Seriously felt you were somewhere tropical. I think I ordered fish tacos and I remember what I had was great and a large portion.

Still trying to get back on my feet after being sick. For some reason can't kick it (even though I do feel a lot better). Started a second course of antibiotics and have added steroids and an inhaler. Hopefully I'll feel better soon.

Sam and I had a great time on our mom and son DL trip. Rode Buzz 8 times..lol. The Grand Cali was everything I expected. He is going to be a great DVC kid...kept saying "mom, if we go on 2 more rides can we go back to the hotel?" LOVED the hotel and the pool and I seriously think we could have only gotten him 2 day hoppers and spent the 3rd day at the resort and he would have been thrilled.

I'm going for 2 more quick trips in Sept to take the other 2 kids for their alone time. I'm sure each one will be different but I'm looking forward to giving them special memories and time with me.

Hope you all are doing well. Miss this thread...just can't keep up right now.

The other day Dawn called me and asked what I had for dinner and I told her I had a potato. We got to talking about how us poor folk eat potatoes and then we were talking about gambling and I told her I'd use my winnings to buy potatoes in Las Vegas. Hence the potato money!

I told Wendy.. when Bob and I were first married we were so poor that it was a big night for us to buy a sack of potatoes and make french fries to eat while playing cards. Oh well.. we've always had a good time together..with money or without.

Today was such a nice day.. my daughter loved all her presents! And after everyone went home..both our granddaughters wanted to stay another night..so we told them they could each spend 5 dollars at the dollar store.. they had the best time planning how to spend it.

For 10 dollars they got:
a set of jacks
a littlest pet shop coloring book
a mickey mouse puzzle
a pack of colorful pipe cleaners
a 3 pack make your own bracelet set
a 2 back make your own beaded belt set
one finding nemo toy
a 2 pack of hannah montanna plastic cups
and they each got a tiny babydoll with a crib and a highchair:goodvibes
Now they are sitting make heart flowers with the pipe cleaners!

Just a quick fly by to say hello... My niece left and I had to go back to work today despite being a little under the weather. DLR was nice, but it wasn't our most magical trip ever... not that anything went particularly wrong, but Ty was not quite himself (and even threw up in his crib one night) and it was really stressful for me to try to keep an almost 13 year old and an almost 2 year old happy at the same time. But, Magical was great and Peter Pan reopened early, so that was nice.

Anyhow, now I'm playing catch up/get ahead at work so that I can sneak off to play while all of you are here in just a couple more weeks!!!

This month has brought about some life changing events.
The ex & I are back together, Laramie. I am going to be a full time student, I am now looking for a part time job. If I keep working the way I have been I will never finish mmy classes to get into the nursing program.
I need to take Microbiology, A&P2, the CNA class.
I am number 3 on the waiting list to get into the summer qtr CNA class.
I have applied to the local nursing home to take it there, but they are full until September :eek:
Until then I am just going to hang out at home with the kids.

I hope the golf course starts hiring soon.

I was looking on QVC to buy some clothes for the vegas trip. But nothing is appealing to me at this time. My old paralegal--Brandy--is back part-time to help out. The girls and i had a morning of drawing and photography. Rosalyn and Faye love to draw. And Rosalyn has a real interest in photography. She has a little doll and we went around the house taking pictures of it next to paintings.. she showed alot of patience. We decided we are going to make a journal of photos with the doll from our summertime fun. Then I'll lamenate them and make a book for her for christmas.

Now we are eatting pizza.

I love bacon and eggs! I just made Jesse bacon and egg breakfast burritos - he loves them. It's his last day of school before exams on Monday and Tuesday, then summer (well, until July and summer school starts ;)) I am starting to get stuff together. I am getting my haircut & colored on Wednesday (before the kids get back from their dads house, they leave in the AM). Friday I am getting my nails done. I think I am going with a pink or purple for my toes. My fingernails are always clear. I just took a lovery nap. I feel much better, but my knee is hurting a little bit.

I am keeping it elevated & iced. Nurse Kaeleb just ran outside to play with the neighbor kids. So I am on my now I guess.

Dawn, I didn't forget your question about my favorite experience so far, I just can't decide on an answer haha. Toy story mania was my fave ride and I had a blast on everest when I rode with this family, a brother and sister about 20ish and their mom. They never rode it and the guy was pretty nervous, I rode with him.

Beth I drink red bulls when I need them which I have a feeling I will in Vegas but the drink with the vodka while gambling sounds nice.

I tried on my jeans from Torrid and they are da bomb!! I was doing a fashion show for Frank and he's like - hey now, you're going without me, yes??? Hee hee! He loves my sparkly flip-flops too (on me, not for him ;)) I told him we'll just have to take another trip then so I can wear my nice stuff for him too! I guess that's tons of trips then, because now Jesse also wants to go to Vegas to go SHOPPING! He saw all the stores in the outlet mall and he thinks he would be in heaven. Maybe if he does well in summer school, we'll take a trip in August, before school starts and get some clothes and stuff. We'll see what kind of deals I can scare up!
