*Old* Girls only Vegas thread. See new link in first post. Thanks!

Hi friends! We got to Anaheim around 5:30 and by the time we were settled into the hotel and had all changed clothes we didn't get to DL until a little after 7 tonight. I was hungry so we popped over to Riverbelle Terrace and grabbed a bite to eat before heading back to the Winnie the Pooh ride and store. The son of one of Dave's BFs from college turned 1 last week. Since his mom is another Disney fanatic (she did the college program, etc) Dave had asked if there was a particular character or any merchandise that we could pick up for them as she is pregnant with #2 at the moment and they live in Missouri, so obviously they don't get to the parks very often. So, we were looking for Tigger stuff and found the cutest little onesie that looks like Tigger complete with a tail decal on the butt!

After that we headed to Haunted Mansion. The sign said 13 minute wait but after 10 minutes of the line not moving at all we quickly deduced that it had broken down and so we left. Rode POTC with about a 15 minute wait. It was just about 9 at that point and we wanted to see the fireworks since RDCT is about to end in May/early June. But, since we had 25 minutes I grabbed a single rider pass for Indy and Dave hung out with Ty. I got off the ride at 9:20 to the sound of the "high winds" announcement. They waited another 15 minutes before they officially cancelled, but that was a disappointment. Then Dave rode Indy while I hung out with Ty and shopped in Adventureland. After that we stopped to pick up Mickey Pretzels with cheese and headed out of the park to the WOD to take advantage of the 20% discount that they having been giving APs all this week for AP Appreciation in Downtown Disney. Got something cute for my exchange package, a bunch of the Mickey rubber keychains for the 6 women on the Toddler Teacher Team at Ty's school 'cause they all love Disney too and this month was teacher appreciation and I hadn't done anything yet. Also got myself a really cute new zip hoodie. It is slate blue with the retro disneyland logo on the front left pocket area and a bigger logo of Mickey on the back that is blinged out with some cute red crystals. I saw it first in the Adventureland shop but held out to see if it was at WOD and since it was I got it figuring that 20% off meant that I save $10 on it!

All in all it was a good night, but not the best ever at DL since there were no fireworks and we really only rode 3 rides and I'm not sure that the Pooh ride really even counts :rotfl2:

I am excited for the new schedule and I am going to do my best to be at what I can. I will definitely be at the 3 shows that we have purchased tickets for, but everything else is still kind of on hold as we finalize the schedule and I work out the logistics of work and childcare.

Miss you all. I kept finding myself looking for y'all as I walked through the park tonight as it felt weird that you weren't all here with me!

Just checked my email and I got my confirmation that my stuff that I ordered (chippendale tickest and Haunted tour) was received and will be mailed out no later than Monday! :cool1::cool1: :banana: :woohoo: I placed my order yesterday but the credit card we had on file was expired. :headache: Ruben got a new one in the mail, so he's going to stop by the station and give them the updated info and try to pick up the tickets while he's there. I'll let ya'll know for sure.


I was listening this morning and heard someone call in for a pair of Chippendale tickets. The on air lady said "ok, they are $39 for the pair", and the caller said "they are BOGO right?" and she said no.
So the BOGO offer is ONLY through the email form we all ordered from. I'm sooooo glad I got that email.

We're each paying $14.63 per ticket opposed to $50-something if we'd ordered them from the Rio/Chippendale website. :cool1: I love a deal! :thumbsup2

Typically the food coupons are limited to one per person, and one every 90 days. Unless they specify otherwise, like a BOGO or some sort of deal, kwim?

It is a minimum to mail out, either $15 or $20. I can never remember.

I told Ruben to get me a Ben and Jerry's too.

They have a Rub BBQ. A $25 value for $15. But we can only use one per table, so I'm not sure how to make that work for us when it came time to divvy up the check.

I did a totally stupid thing and agreed to do some transcription work for a doc who works with my sister (and I have never done work for this doc before - I have done work for other docs in the same clinic). OMG - she is terrible! I don't do very much transcription any more because I do more training/teaching/QA now. This is going to take me a loooooooooooong time - I think she is not speaking English in some parts and she is giving conflicting information (important stuff like dates and stuff).

I thought it would be an easy extra few bucks for Vegas, but it's turning into somewhat of a nightmare. Next time I'll just stick to doing extra work of my regular stuff (even transcription)!!! Oooh, it's beginning to look like a long week...................

Well, I've procrastinated enough at work that the mail man has delivered my parcel of makeup from Everyday Essentials, so now I have another great reason to procrastinate :yay: I'm going to go play with makeup for a bit and try and get this beast of a letter finished tonight (wish me luck!). I phoned in to the office and warned them it's not going to be pretty, the dates are all f'ed up and I don't have a chart to confirm anything (which is not really my job), so this will be the last note I do for this doc. I'm so happy we have no hockey games until Friday now (just practice on Wednesday). Jesse hurt himself on Friday and has been playing on a really bad ankle (the only way he won't play is if he's totally sick and can't move - otherwise he'll tape up whatever hurts, take Tylenol, and go for it) for four games. It's funny because he'll make it through the game and feel fine, but afterward is when it hurts :sad2:

I just to not understand boys at all. Me, I don't want to feel pain, thank you very much. Hit me or take a check? Not really interested. I do go to the games and cheer them on though. I am one of THOSE moms ;) I yell when they score, wear my team shirt (just in case they don't realize who I'm with by my yelling.....). But I will be glad for a bit of a break.

I had searched numerous stores and the web to see if I could find it here in Vegas with no luck. But apparently he just happened to find one bottle sitting on the shelf at the Smith's store that he stopped at this morning. Danny Gans passed away overnight. He's been a headliner in this town for many, many years. Very good, very popular. Ruben and I have seen his show, and he recently took Adam to see it. I was thinking of taking Noelle to see it too.

He was only 52, and just passed away suddenly in his sleep. He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, and 3 kids. :guilty: I just hate hearing stories like this. Sudden passings like this just make you realize you cannot take a single moment, or second of your life for granted.

It's a dark blue and in the packaging it looked black. But since everyone seemed pleased with the boa, I took them out of the packaging this morning so they could start fluffing up, and low and behold there was a blue one.

It's a dark blue and in the packaging it looked black. But since everyone seemed pleased with the boa, I took them out of the packaging this morning so they could start fluffing up, and low and behold there was a blue one.

I took pics so y'all can see what they look like. My closet looks like backstage at Jubilee! :rotfl:

The $54 Mezzanine seats are just fine viewing wise and it's a great show, if you like musicals.

Well..... Paula canceling is not a bad thing.. because i got her a job with my husbands company.. so she's very happy to be back working with us. She worked for my husband a couple of years ago. So her having a full time job again is better than a vacation. As our industry is very challenged at this time and she was laid off from her previous job and a competitor was only able to offer her contract from month to month because of her years of experience and salary base.
So.. things work out how they are supposed to work out.
If we hadn't had to cancel the package.. i wouldn't have gotten the 5 free nights.:wizard:

It's interesting, Beth. She worked for us for 11 years and was my husbands right hand person. Then she got a job offer to run a company in new mexico which was starting from the ground up. So she took it as that had always been her dream.
When she left, i told her.. you don't know these people.. what if doesn't work..they could fire you. And sure enough..they used her to set up everything and establish themselves as a "local" company through her contacts. Then they laid her off and hired someone for a lot less money.

I'm just happy we could hire her back, cuz this economy is really not good in the real estate industry. And she is very knowledgeable in her field with so many contacts.

I can't wait to play slots! I love to play them. I know CheryL does too.. does anyone else?

You should do it once. Its a treat. An expensive one, but a treat none the less. If you go on a cruise, you can do it all the time. Its included in the price, just need to tip. Worth it in my opinion.

Walk or drive the Strip.
Late dinner at Margaritaville, and then either hang out on the Strip or head back to hotel depending on how tired everyone is.


Monday June 22
(more ladies arrive today)
Small breakfast in hotel room to save money.
At 10:00 meet up to tour some of the hotels:
Start at M&M World and the Coke Store.
MGM/Lion Habitat
Walk across to NY NY, then to Excalibur.
Lunch at Dick's Last Resort
End up at Luxor.

Back to hotel to rest and change for the evening.
Mirage for early dinner at 5. Options are BLT Burger or Carnegie Deli.
See Cirque's Love show at 7:00 located in the Mirage.
After the show, walk go down to watch the Mirage volcano, then walk across to TI to see the pirate show.
Then depending on how tired everyone is, either go back to hotel or out for drinks. Kahunaville in TI has flare bartenders, OR Parasol Up/Parasol Down lounge is across at the Wynn and overlooks the Lake of Dreams.



Tuesday June 23
Breakfast in room.
Massage at Stacie's new favorite place. (those not wanting to do the massage can tour the Paris hotel/go up in the Eiffel tower)
Shopping in the Forum Shops at Caesars, followed by lunch at Serendipity 3.
Walk to Bellagio to tour conservatory and see fountains
Back to hotel to change for dinner.
At night go to Tony and Tina's Wedding dinner and show @ 7:00.
Then to Peppermill's Fireside Lounge for drinks. (Maybe hit Diablos too)




Wednesday June 24
Small, quick breakfast in room, or just skip breakfast since it will be an early lunch
Meet at Venetian around 10 a.m. to ride/watch the gondolas, walk through to Palazzo (they are connected)
Drive to Planet Hollywood-
-early lunch at Earl of Sandwich
-some shopping in the Miracle Mile shops
-Stripper 101 @ 4:30 (be there 30 minutes early)

Dinner to be determined depending on time and how hungry we are after the class.

Haunted Vegas Tour @ 9:00



Thursday June 25
Breakfast in room
Sleep in/Swim in the morning

Disney outlet shopping and lunch at Town Square. There is a Claim Jumper, California Pizza Kitchen, Cadillac Ranch or Tommy Bahamas restaurant.
Pictures at the Vegas sign since we'll be driving right by it. (wear black top, tiara and boa for this)

VooDoo Lounge (at the Rio) at 5:00 p.m. for drinks
Walk around the Rio, see the Show in the Sky
Dinner at Rub BBQ

Chippendales @ 8:00 followed by drinks in the Flirt lounge




Friday June 26
Breakfast in room
Free day!!
Options for today:
Madame Tussauds?
Tour more hotels?
Rides on top of the Stratosphere?

Lunch at the Mad Greek

After lunch, get all prettied up for a night out!!
Head to Fremont Street to check out downtown, some of the stores, and some of the older casinos. Do some gambling, grab some yummy fried food, watch the Fremont Street Experience and then head to the OG!!
Head back to timeshare for slumber party!!





Saturday June 27
Skip breakfast, save room for the buffet.
Another free day!
Options:
Or drive out to Area 51 or Hoover Dam?
Planetarium and Observatory?
Shopping at the Showgirl store and Psychic Eye gift shop?

Brunch @ either Rio Carnaval World buffet or Planet Hollywood Spice Market buffet.

For those spending another night, meet at Harrah's for an early dinner at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill. Then go to Harrah's Carnival Court to hear the live music and see the flare bartenders.




Sunday June 28
Not sure if anyone will still be here this day or if everyone is leaving some time on Saturday.
For anyone still here, we can meet for breakfast or brunch. I'll leave it open.

OOohh Beth!! Room Service is great. I always save for it when i go on vacation. It's fun to get the appetizers and then some of the pay for view movies and just chiLLaX!

I'm soooOOoooo Looking forward to some Hot Chocolate in Vegas.. it's super good in the casino.. it even has whipped creme on it....they will bring it to You at the slot machines ..and sometimes it's yummy with bailys in it.:thumbsup2
