Living in northern California I sometimes have random pictures of our beautiful state to share so I thought I would start this thread.

Here is not a Pelican at the shore of the San Francisco bay I can't remember what it was at this moment. I will edit it later.

Here is a picture of our campsite on a September trip to China Camp state park in San Rafael in northern California.

Here are some wild Turkey's from the campground.

Pretty pictures! :goodvibes

We have wild turkeys all over the place. The trail I walk on has about 16 of them that like to run around, they're pretty funny to watch. :rotfl:

Thank you! We do too. One morning there were a bunch on our roof and boy are they noisy because they weigh so much more than the normal birds you get on the roof.

Aww, I love deers. The only chance I get to see them is when I'm driving by them on the 50 and praying they don't jump in front of my car! :scared1:

We get squirrels on our roof, and those little suckers are annoying! They seem to be loudest going over my bedroom. :sad2:

Those kids look like they are a lot of fun to have around!

Great pics! I love Northern CA. It's so pretty up there. We used to have wild turkey and deer, along with many other critters, wandering around our yard in MI.
I miss that.

Your kids are so cute. They look like they were really having fun in those pics. :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy seeing other people's pics. :yay:

Hi - I just moved to San Diego last year after living my whole life on the east coast and I really miss the fall, changing colors of the trees, crisp weather. Your pictures are beautiful and even remind me of back east; of course San Diego is beautiful and I don't miss the hot, humid and hazy summers nor the freezing winters! It's so nasty back there they've had to cancel the World Series games! Go Phillies!!

Looking forward to more pix!

Michele, they were great pictures. They reminded me of when we lived in the Pocono Mtns in PA we had wild turkeys in the yard, deer, bears and all sorts of nature.

I spent a weekend in Napa Valley once, it was really nice. I was at a winery, someone's home and I can not for the life of me remember where it was or what the name was. it was really something though.

Bears? We are lucky in Fairfield but I can tell you many places that in California have bears. In the Lake Tahoe area there are a lot of bears and they actually break into homes. No thank you.

The Napa valley is a beautiful area. We live so close that we tend to take it for granted.

The scrolling avatar and everything is the work of the tag fairy. I was at the grocery store and I got a screaming excited phone call because the tag fairy had visited her.

My husband is gone on a bicycle ride this morning and he is riding around Lake Berryessa which is in both Solano and Napa county. He took the camera so there will be more pictures to see.:goodvibes

I would have done the screaming bit myself. I think he pictures that he is bicycling Ninja or something. He has been invited to try out for two different racing teams so next year will be spent doing Bicycle races when he is off. Oh boy. I've always had allergies. But they have been horrible this year. We moved into a house we built...and it's right near a ton of fields. So this fall I've been bad while they are cutting things down. And my husband (a California native that just moved here in 2007 didn't really have bad allergies at all until this year.) Mine weren't great out in California though....I didn't get the relief of winter.

We went to the 'Tree's of Mystery" a few years back and absolutely loved it. IS this anywhere near there?

Thank you. This is one of my absolute favorite places to go. It can be 100 degrees here and I go over there and it is like 75. Actually I think the "Tree's of Mystery" are further north. This is actually about 20 miles north of San Francisco at most.

Wow~ The last time I was at Berryessa the glory hole was overflowing. The water levels are scary low.

I know aren't they? I was so glad to see the rain we have had recently because of that. My niece was saying that her and her fiance had gone up to the lake recently and that it seemed like forever to get to the water to her. After seeing my husbands pictures I see exactly what she means.

Pretty pictures! I love the redwoods. When I go up toward Eureka, I like to do the Avenue of Giants scenic route, it's very picturesque.

:rotfl2:Not where we are. No but I will not camp up near Lake Tahoe or in Yosemite because of it. Oh and camping isn't so bad when you have a mattress that sits three feet off the ground.

I remember watching an episode of newlyweds with Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey and they went camping and were on about the bears, and having to put everything in a bear bin. I wondered from then if there were really bears at the campsites in California :rotfl: i wouldnt feel like I had been unless I see one haha though im sure i'd probably be eaten by it

I always think of camping over here as a tiny tent, no electricity to do my hair :laughing:and sleeping on a muddy floor, certainly not my idea of a nice trip :rolleyes1

We camp at state parks and there is electricity in the bathrooms so you can dry your hair and such. I am one who has to have a shower and a toilet that flushes. Bears are not all over California, and certainly not where we camp. I have seen skunks and mountain lion tracks. And one time we went camping up by Mt Shasta and I saw a bear walk across the highway on my way into town. I was not thrilled but I knew that there were so many deer in the area and the fact that they don't like dogs and we have a large German Shepherd I felt safe. Well as safe as I could.

Up here is Sonoma County those yellow flowers are everywhere. I pass huge fields of them on the way to work everyday. Wish I had a picture. I love going to DLR but I have to agree with you, it is so much prettier up here. :thumbsup2

I would rather go to Disneyland for vacation than anywhere else, but as far as the scenery we definitely have it better.

I think that we ar every lucky to live in this beautiful state. Face it California is pretty special. And our area of the state is the prettiest. As far as I am concerned the coastline in Sonoma county is the best.:goodvibes
