VWL lockoffs and neighbor noise

We recently spent 7 nights in a studio at our home resort, VWL. We were a bit surprised at the amount of noise that could be heard through the closed door of the lock-off. We could easily make out the tone of conversations as well as hear TV noise. If we were nosy types we could have probably sat at the little table that is next to the door and listened in! Several occupants came and went that week, so it wasn't just a case of a too-noisy group....heads up that you may not be all that private in these rooms. Other than this, we loved our studio!

I have found that true of all DVC lockoffs but I didn't think VWL were as bad as the rest. The lockoff door was in a different location (close to the entrance door) instead of in the parts of the room we would be in. With OKW and VB we felt like we were in the same room.

When we stayed in a lock off studio last Oct, we didn't notice any noise from the next room. Maybe we just had quiet neighbors! In fact in all the places we've stayed I can't say that noise has ever been a problem for us.
