I woke up this morning and I felt like I was in a parallel universe. IT WAS IN THE SIXTIES!!!!! And the weatherman says it will be in the fifties tomorrow. If it's like this down in WPB, I can imagine it's even better in Orlando.

The beginning of the Floridian season of bliss is upon us!

Snow last night here in Iowa, too (although it didn't stick); and we've been under severe wind advisories. Temps in the 60's?! That's shorts weather here!!

We had the scrapers in action late last week, and now we are just getting all that rain that postponed the World Series last night. Gotta love New England weather - well, actually we don't have to love with it but we do have to deal with it!

it's not cold here, but it's raining, which means winter for us....the first rain was last week....(earlier than normal)

hopefully it will rain and rain and rain and rain and rain and then rain some more, as we've been in the midst of a severe drought for the past several years....

however, our dog is not happy....she can't figure out what's going on.....the only way i can get her into the yard is on a leash and with lots and lots of encouragement....i guess she doesn't remember rain from last winter - not surprising, since there was so very little of it...

i also feel sorry for the tourists....kind of sucky when the neverending cloudless blue sky is taken over by rain clouds right in the middle of your long awaited trip.....
but we always tell them they should be proud that they brought much needed rain with them...
of course i'm sure i know what they'd like to respond to that - but they're too polite to say it..

No earthquakes
No Tornados
No Floods
No Hurricanes worth mentioning
No Snakes
No Scorpions
No Gangs

I'm sure I missed plenty, but that should be good for now. :wizard:

I LOVE THE COLD!! Its about 38 degrees here and I'm waiting till it drops alittle so we can have snow. Its raining now which is making it a miserable day but it'll change to snow soon enough. I love waking up to the cold, its so refreshing and you just wake right up. I love walking in it and looking outside at the snow and just the whole wintertime experience. I can't wait till its a little closer to the holidays so I can start playing Christmas music, there's nothing better than popping in a Christmas CD and listening to it all day!

Winter is great for  to keep you warm. Oh, yea and for skiing.

I do love to ski. The ride up the mountain, the breath taking view from the

top. And the swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, :woohoo: tumble, crash, roll down

the mountain.......aaah. Good Times. :tilt:

Growing up east of Cleveland I know full well what you are talking about. The lake affect snow can accumlate big time. Shoveling two feet of snow from the driveway does not appeal to me in any way, shape, or form anymore.

I do not participate in winter sports. I'd end up in the hospital. :lmao: The only time I spend outdoors in the winter is walking our dogs. It's just too dang cold. And the snow is only pretty for a few minutes, till the plows come by, then it's just a dirty slushy mess!

I'm just a little ray of sunshine today, aren't I? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Brrr! I live just west of Orlando, and about 17 miles from Disney (driving, 10 if by way of a bird hehe) and woke up to temps way too cold! It said it felt like 41.... brrr, I thought when I moved to Florida I wouldn't need my sweaters this early lol.

I actually started a thread about it in another section of the forums before I saw this one.

I had to go out last night and buy new winter coats for my boys. They didn't want to freeze at the bus stop this morning.

At least it's going to be around 60 degrees on Halloween...no one likes to trick-or-treat with a bulky coat over their costume.

Currently it's a balmy 48 degrees here in Washington State up in the NW corner. I woke up to frost today. Ugh. I hate the cold weather. Why do I live here?

Global warming my butt, global cooling is more like it! We've been freezing all year long. I didn't even have to turn on the AC this year!

Olympic NP is absolutely beautiful and I wish I lived closer. I think I'm in the same position as you are-just to lazy to move or more true is that all my family is here in NJ. We have driven cross country many times and I really love the west and the mountains as well as the Pacific NW!!

Is it true that the colder it is, the less chance of the pumpkins rotting? I might be able to persuade my roommate to buy a pumpkin if that's the case.

Eh, the Pacific NW is OK. It's green... Sometimes though I long for other colors. We get that goofy slushy snow that has a layer of ice under it, so winter is really not fun. Just not looking forward to it. We never had a summer, it was like we went from Winter to Spring and back to Winter again... I want my summer!!!!!!!!!! Give me summer! There is no Global Warming, only global freezing. Oh boy, time to look like the Michelin Man!
