DTD Needs to Improve Transportation Options

A man took a tour bus driver hostage briefly and forced her to drive to the Downtown Disney entertainment and shopping complex, authorities said Saturday.

I've heard them quote "in response to guest demand," but this is the first I've seen it documented!! Sheesh!!:eek:

I've never had a problem getting to DTD...it's the bus ride back to the resorts that takes forever -- it's like you're being held hostage or something and can't board a bus until you've met the minimum spending requirement. :confused:

(Seriously, in all our trips to WDW, DTD is the only place we've had problems with bus transportation.)

So THAT'S what you have to do to get a direct route to DTD. I guess I wouldn't have had to get off and walk from Saratoga Springs had I been more, uh, assertive.

All kidding aside, I'm sure the driver was scared out of her mind. I hope she's OK.
