Trying to book a 1 BR at OKW for the marathon. They gave me a price of $390/night.That is rack rate.Where is everyone else staying and how did you do for price?

Please don't move this to resorts board as it has to do with the race.

TIA, Linda

Being a DVC member, I am staying at Board Walk Villas. I would suggest you go over to the DVC sections of the DIS and look into points rental. I am sure you can gett the same type room for a lot less money. Just a suggestion.

I agree with trying to rent points from someone. I went through Anthony Travel, only because I wanted to go the Goofy, otherwise I would not have booked through them, as I could have gotten a room for cheaper, but that is the price I pay for not registering in jan!!

Linda I booked a AAA rate directly through Disney and got PO-FQ for $119/nt (1/8/-1/12). I'm waiting for the AP rates to come out to see if I can either do better or move up to a Deluxe. They should be out soon, if you look at historical release dates (Mousesavers.com).

If you want to stay at OKW or another DVC, and if you could get a AAA rate or even AP, it may be worth the purchase. I think the AAA web site (dreadful!)shows the price for 1BR would be $312.

We booked Anthony Travel for the 3 night minimium and AAA for the days before and after the marathon. We will be there 1/7 - 1/14.

I'm waiting for a code to come out. Last year it was for a package, but I'm crossing my fingers for an AP rate or Disney Visa code for room only... I'm staying at the Poly for two nights so I really need a code!

I think last year there was a code for SSR and OKW that came out. If I see something Linda, I'll let you know.

Do you have a Disney Visa or AP? They normally release those before they go public...

It looks liek tehy may be changing from Anthony Travel to Disney Sports travel. Have you tried them? 407-939-4786 (WDW-irun) I tlekd to them in September and they said they had packages available.

I used Anthony Travel last year because I didn’t decide to do the half until after it was full and using them got me a race entry. I did get a better rate than rack so I can’t speak to that but they did do a good job of getting me into the race.

I don't know about OKW, but for Polynesian their rates were better than AAA or through the Disney sports site. I actually went with Marathon Tours and Travel because their rates included all the taxes, which is a considerable amount.

I think you mean Marathon Tours, since they had Goofy Registration still available.

We did 2 nights through themouseforless.com, 3 nights through Marathon tours, and 2 nights through the mouseforless.com

Our agent at themouseforless.com keeps track of all discount codes, AAA, AP, or Disney Visa, and applies the best rate.

We're staying at the Contemporary. We used Mousefantravel.com. The price we got was slightly less than rack rate. I told our TA that we had AP's, AAA, and a Disney Visa, so she said that she would watch for discounts for us.
