this will be our 4th disney cruise we have been on a 4 night enjoyed key west and a 7 night eastern and a 7 night western. we are located about 90 miles south of buffalo ny. it will just be dw and i on this cruise.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas we have gotten over 16 inches of snow the last few day's and the night time temperatures have been near 10.

Hi there! Happy New Year! :goodvibes I'm sure it's too early to hope that things are warming up for you (my Mom is pretty chilly where she is in Sullivan County) but hope you're not too buried in snow! We actually had snow here in Las Vegas before Christmas and several inches at our House. It was unbelievable...I was pushing snow with a broom :rotfl: Crazy weather! Have been off the Boards for so long but since we're making a quick trip to DL tonight it's made me miss the DIS :banana: Can't wait to see the Mouse...have a great weekend and stay warm!

Welcome welcome. I had started this thread because I didn't find another one and there was none on the "find your cruise" thread. I guess someone started another as well. Not sure what will remain the real one. :) I had figured since I had first post on this I would keep it updated with who was on the cruise and make a list. But...I'm not first post anymore :)

This will be our 7th cruise. We're doing the 4N before this one so we'll already be on the ship. Our first back-to-back! WOohoo.

No worries. There weren't many posts and you can still see the content.

I see now that the other thread is older than the one I started. I'm happy to relinquish control over.

I will repost ours again! We are a family of 5 from Missouri who have made many trips to WDW but only one other cruise in 2007:cool1: . We will be traveling with our 3 kids Ben 21, Philip 17 and Katie 14 (ages now!). We will be celebrating my 51st on the ship. We will also be at WDW this June for the big 50! The 5 day was a good option for us as not everyone wanted to go on a 7 day and 3 wasn't long enough. We look forward to meeting everyone.

We cruised with DVCFans in 2007 and are looking forward to cruising with them again.

Eww 31 yuck it is pretty cold here too but not that cold. It is good to know that there may be some people my age on the boat lol last time I was worried that everyone was going to be 10 and under which is great ( I love kids, studying to be a teacher lol ) but I wan't sure there would be much for me to do. Of course then I found wavebands. So excited for this cruise. I just wish I could make time go faster lol. Here's to warm weather :banana::banana::banana:

Sorry about the cold weather.
In West Texas it's been up and down.
Today the temp. is expected to top 75 but windy.
Winds are expected to be 40mph with gusts up to 60mph.
Laura and Katie are in Austin this weekend for a school comp.
I stayed home due to work and because today was to be a nice 100k bike ride along the edge of the Caprock but the slackers I ride with called it off due to a little wind.
Now I have no excuse not to get the grocery shopping and laundry done :laundy:.

Sorry we've been kind of quiet here. We have to get through our other vacations before we can start working much more on this one :) We have a week at Hilton Head this summer and then the Xmas cruise. Then we can start worrying about the June cruises some more :)

My Aunt Kelli and one of my cousins, Schyler, have decided to join in the fun on the cruise. Another of my cousins mya join in she is supposed to let us know tonight... Had a great time at the Buffett concert. we could have used some Changes in Latitudes Changes in Attitudes as our gps messed up on us a couple of times on the drive down. We did enjoy our little time in Margaritaville and had time for a Cheeseburger in Paradise. many of the people there really did prove We Are The people Our Parents Warned Us About.

i think you have us and another poster mixed up..we are not doing B 2 B
cruises. They merged our thread earlier and one post under my name is really many posts from other posters =) We are using our points this time b/c we just bought last year and they gave us Saratogo Springs resort for our developer points, so we used those points this last trip 6/09..which left us this years points so we used them for the cruise. We only buy in at 160 points so it is not a big differrence (especially if you think about this year as "free" points)...however, we will not use any future points for cruises =)

It will be myself, Beth, my husband-Sean, son-Brandon who will be 14-celebrating his birthday. Hopefully my older son, who will be graduating from WVU will join us with his girlfriend, but I guess that depends on jobs etc. I am also trying to convince my parents to go. They have always cruised with us, but my mom had to use a wheelchair the last 2 times and feels it is too much for her-so I have a lot of convincing to do. We were originally booked for June 13th-and I am still holding that considering B2B if I can afford it.

Hello all I am PurdyBertnie's mom, she has been bugging me about getting on the cruise meet. I am looking forward to June. Really enjoyed our first cruise in March 09 and rebooked on board. Have since picked up another stateroom for my sister and niece and we are all very excited. Hope everyone has lots of luck getting excursions and Palo reservations. As for me I am not a Palo kinda gal so I won't be competing for your spot :rotfl2: Still working out our excursion wish lists, haven't been able to get everyone together yet. We are thinking about going on Monday and staying close to port or even going on Sunday and doing 2 WDW days. So many choices, too long to wait.

:cool1: First, :grouphug: Thank you all for the "well-wishes-safe" trip send-off from last week. Dw Kathy & my self, [ Don - The"Hoosier"Daddy ] had a great time.We don't ,don't "drink" per-sa and we had a bar bill of $102.09 LOL :rotfl2: LOL The weather was great, 92-to-95 every day. We only saw one live show, Toy Story, it was really good. saw 3 movies while on board.Did all the excursions before, so we justwent shopping in Nasua for thing for our grand kids.A lot of people with birth days at dinner time.We walked the deck only 2 mornings this time.I think I put on about 5to7 extra lbs. Oh!,the food, it was GREAT, GREAT.YOU want to here something funny,what are the odds, of eating at P.CAY,the first lunch,after coming onboard at the same table on 3 different cruises, it happened to us, last sept 2008 on the Wonder,in June on the Magic and last sun.sept.20th on the wonder.And guess what? we did not play any bingo this time.dw said NO! Got to "tip my hat" to Capt. TOM, the man knows how to run a ship. You could see the storms off in the distance and not once did we go through one. I got pic's, just got to find out how to post them. Counting the days till June 8th,2010 . :cool1: ...........Oh, I forgot to say; we booked 3 more cruises while on board, one for Sept. 2010 & 2 dummys for some time in 2011 on the Dream. BethA, no boys of that age in our group. My daughter feels the same as your son...she wants to take a friend. I feel sure she will meet some teens her age, she is pretty outgoing. If not, she will just have to enjoy the time with good ole mom and dad!!

Is anyone doing an Atlantis excursion while in Nausaau? We are trying to decide between the one offered by the cruise line or doing our own thing. I've read on here where some folks have booked a room at the Comfort Suites and they get full use of the Atlantis waterpark. Any thoughts??

I've been considering trying to talk Jim into an Atlantis tour, but I was looking at either Discover Atlantis or the Beach Day. While I think we could enjoy the water park, I don't know if we'd enjoy it enough to make it worth the extra expense! I think I'd rather just enjoy the resort, the shops, the aquarium and maybe the beach, and take a peek at the waterpark and see if we think we'd want to do it next time. Our DD will be 8 and I know she'd prefer playing in the sand to waterslides - at least this year!

We are unsure about excursions as yet we may do the history city tour in Nausau. and the old town trolly in Key West, then just walk around Duvall street. we may be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter the night before at WDW.

We are trying to figure out if there will be a semi-formal dinner night. In the past we have taken 7 night cruises with a semi and formal both. On the website it says the dress code is cruise casual for the carribean and bahamian cruises. So does that answer my question? I like the family pictures of us all in our dress clothes but don't want to shop/pack for stuff if I don't need it. As for our excursions, Atlantis is $800. for our family to do the waterpark - not sure if it's that worth it. We have a 17 year old son, a 14 year old daughter and a 10 year old daughter so of course making friends right away definately makes the cruise more fun for them. In between lots of skiing we are on the count down now for our cruise!

We've never done a 5-night, but on our previous 4-night cruises there has been a dress-up night - not specifically formal or semi-formal, but dressier than cruise casual. We usually pack something that's semi-formalish, though my DD will wear formal dresses to church so we pack whatever she thinks would be fun to wear in the dining room :rotfl:. We like to be able to get family portraits done, so we usually dress up a little more than it may call for - however, I've seen full-out formalwear on dress-up night on 4-night cruises before, so I wouldn't be uncomfortable in anything!

If you're planning Palo, you'll want some semi-formal wear anyway, so you can always just pair that with some different jewelry or a wrap and let it do double-duty.

I sailed the Wonder back in 2007 and loved it. So I've been helping with tips for a friend and her extended family who will be on this cruise.

I've already steered her towards the DISBoards in general and several planning and tip threads, including this one. Hopefully, she'll get signed up and on the lists to meet up with some fun folks!



I just want to stowaway in their luggage! It's going to be several years before I can do another Disney Cruise. :sad:

I would like to know what is the difference in the Magic vs the Wonder? Disney's website only mentions that the decor is slightly different, and the names of a few of the rooms are different (like Lumiere's vs Triton's and Sessions vs Cadillac Lounge). However, the menus posted for Lumiere's and Triton's are exactly the same according to Disney's website.
So if both boats have the same menus, show the same movies, provide the same activities, have the same live shows, the same spa services, same youth clubs, same pools, etc, etc...

I guess to explain my question better, I have always been under the impression that they are pretty much the same. However, in reading through this message board I have read, on other threads, quite a lot of postings like "I have sailed the Magic 3 times, but this will be my first on the Wonder...". Which makes me begin to think there might be something that I don't know about.

I have noticed, at least from pictures, that the portholes in the Navigator's Balcony Suites (we had one on the Wonder), are different. On the Magic, the open air portholes in the Navigator's Suites are round. On the Wonder, they are larger, rounded rectangles.

But pretty much the decor is what is different. The statue in the main lobby, the characters hanging off the stern, etc.

Hello everyone :goodvibes Are we doing a fish extender with our cruise meet. A fish extender (FE) is a fabric organizer you hang outside your cabin from the fish that has your rm# on it. You leave it out during the cruise and it becomes your mail box for a small gift exchange between those on this thread that want to do it. I do not plan to do the FE, not because I don't think its a good time. I simply don't have the luggage space for it. We used travel bags last cruise and still could hardly get in all in by the time we purchased a minimum of souveniers we had our carryons stuffed to the max. Add an extra day to this cruise and I think the airlines are going to make a fortune off our luggage alone. Good luck to all who are doing FE.

well, it looks like my husband is unable to go, so unless I can convince my parents to come along it will be just my 14 yr old son and myself. we will participate in the FE. I guess I will have a lot of time to read because I know Brandon will be busy in the teen club-so far I don't see any other boys his age in the dis group, but I'm still hoping.

For anyone who has ever cruised with just 2 people, I guess they just seat you with another family-is that right? That could or could not work-we usually travel with more people so it has never come up before.

I think that's a good idea to let everyone just do what they want/can if everyone is comfortable with it.

We always bring a practically empty suitcase to WDW to bring back souveniors so I figure we'll do one for FE for the cruise...thank goodness for SW and still free suitcases!

Yea...mine probably won't be crafty either...LOL...maybe creative in no one else thought to bring it MAYBE, but not crafty. :-)

I was thinking it might be neat to do something "texasy" for everyone since that's where we are from.

I also like the idea of bringing whatever u want to the FE. I plan on doing something small. Last cruise everyone did whatever and we really got some cool stuff! I love the surprise! :lovestruc I also bring an empty roll-on for gifts. Since our boys are not coming with us, it will be just the 2 of us and we'll be seated with strangers. I guess that will be part of the fun? I hope!:scared: Last cruise we had 16 people so we knew everyone we were eating with.

We have a couple 2 or 3 different ideas for the fe. How do you know all the different cabin numbers to hand them out. We enjoy dinning with other families we have done this when there was 4 of us this time there will be only 3 so we are hoping we may be seated with two different families

I love the map idea-on the cruise where we had so many participants we spent a lot of time trying to find the cabins, til we realized to use the map we got of the ship.

it really worked! Last time I copied the maps on the DCL website and was able to add names by the cabin #'s in my photo program. I think I had to email the maps, but I can't remember.


Where is everyone staying before the cruise? We are on a wait list to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at WDW with some left over DVC points, but I need a back up. We did the Rad last time and I liked that they let us keep our car there, but it's around $200! Jeez! I just need 1 night LOL!

we are staying at BCV using our points from sat until the cruise. We have stayed at the Country Inn at the port. It was nice and they had a free breakfast and free shuttle. we got there too late, but some nights they have a free bbq too

Hubby thinks we can stay at AKL and NOT go to disney for a day...hahaha, I do not think that can be done...u can't put me that close to a park and not go:lmao:We did book Country inns and suites for the night before, but we have those extra points for DVC, I NEED to talk him into making a ressie for Sunday night and we could hit a park Mon before heading to the port...fingers crossed!!!:upsidedow

We've never stayed at any of the All Stars...We always stay at Pop. If I even suggest we stay anywhere else (in any category), my girls have a fit. The only way I was able to get in All Star Movies was to remind them it was ONE night...:rotfl:

I definitly vote for some Disney time before the cruise..
