Hidden Gem for Counter Service at MK

Why hello everyone,
I have been doing a lot of planning lately for my upcoming trip and remembered my last trip on the ddp, and the hidden gem of a place to get counter service. Well, it's actually not quite so hidden, but from the outside, it looks like a regular burger joint. Once you get inside and see the prices of the counter service meals you'll be glad you're on the ddp. You certainly will get your money's worth, that's for sure!

Cosmic Rays cafe has the regular burger fare like every other counter service place there is. But, they also have great roasted chicken and ribs, with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Out of this world food, and so much that two people could use one counter service and save the other for another day.

You can bet that when we are at the Magic Kingdom we will be going there for our lunch because we are using our TS for breakfast that morning at Crystal Palace.

I totally agree with Cosmic Rays! It is so good and has a very good toppings bar if you like that sort of thing!

We split the rib/chicken combo and couldn't even finish it. Great food and if you walk in thinking it's too loud, sit in the section away from Ray and it's nice and quiet!

They also have really good looking sandwiches/wraps/salads. We were there during MNSSHP and that bay was closed, so we didn't get to try it. Kevin and John on the Podcast liked it, too - they had the pulled pork sandwich from that bay.

We loved Cosmic Ray's back in July! It was the only CS place we ate at in MK but we would definitely return!! We had 2 MK days but the first one was our day of arrival. We got to Pop Century to check in at 11:30 so we had lunch there at the food court before heading to the park since it was the kids' normal lunchtime.

We go back to WDW in July 2010. We will definitely go back to Cosmic Ray's at least one of our 2 MK days!!!!

Probably a dumb question, so I am apologizing in advance. Is Cosmic Rays the place by the teacup ride (and the lower portion of the speedway) or is it somewhere else? I am just trying to get my bearings.

According to the map, it's right across from the Speedway. If you walked into tomorrow land from the castle, it's first on your right.

Thank you! This isn't the place that I thought it was but now I know where it is. There is a huge indoor building by the teacups that you can often find Buzz and other characters in. I thought maybe this was the same place. Thanks for getting me on the right track.:worship:

Cosmic Rays is a very good CS place. The best thing is all of options. I can get a grilled chicken ceasar salad, the boys can get bacon cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, grilled chicken sandwiches, etc. Lots to choose from all in one place.

We ate there one evening on our last trip and while I wasn't that crazy about the wrap I had, we ate on the balcony outside and we had the most amazing view of the Castle lit up. Myself and hubby were the only ones on the balcony and it was really romantic! (well, as romantic as counter service gets!!!)
