Got it and love it!
There were quite a few articles, some about rides, some about imagineers, some about nostaglic things and lots of fun little trivia type games.
Lots of fun to read, great glossy pics!

I just ordered a subscritpion for my DMIL, and also ordered the first issue backordered. Anyone have any idea when she will receive either of them? I dont expect them in time for Christmas, but would love to know when they would be getting either their first of the subscription (Feb/March?) or the debut issue? Thanks again. Also, if you ever need guest writers, I have quite a talent for writing.

Lots of large pretty photos, high quality thick paper, shipped in a bag so it arrives in mint condition... (and I'm a tough critic pirate: I've canceled 3 or 4 magazines this year).

First of all, we are sooooooooo glad that everyone is receiving issue #2 and loving it!!!:cool1: We really tried to listen to everyone's feedback and get this issue out a lot quicker and covered in plastic. We received ours today too!!!
To answer your question....issue #3 should be out around early February and any back issues of issue #1 we mail out pretty much right away to you so you should have that one in about a week. If you order back issue #2, we have not received our 1000 extras yet, so that one (Christmas issue) may take longer. We are headed to Disney This Thursday, Dec. 11th ourselves for Mousefest and will probably ship single issue #2 orders when we get back around Dec. 17th.:santa:
Hope that answers your questions!!!:yay:
Thanks everyone for all of your support!!!

Lou's show this week said that it was being printed at the time of taping. With that said I would suspect that we are talking at least another week before it starts hitting mailboxes so maybe by the end of the week (2/7 ish) if we are lucky, but more likely next week.

Just received this email from Tim Foster.....
Hi everyone!
Some of you may be wondering where your copy of the third issue of Celebrations is! The good news is that it has long been printed and ready to go, and was actually mailed out last week. Unfortunately, the post office has been less than upfront with us about delivery times, much to our dismay. We have been in the process of obtaining our periodical permit (a long and tedious process I can assure you!), and were told that, with the permit in hand, the magazine should be delivered in 3-4 days. That meant everyone should have had the magazine by now, but for many of you such is not the case. After a bit more sleuthing today we discovered that the promise of a 3-4 day delivery was a bit of a fib, the actual delivery time is more like 7-14 days. Obviously a frustrating piece of information to come by, especially since we expected everyone to have their issue by now. So if you haven't received your copy of issue 3, you should expect it next week at some point. (For those of you
who are wondering, our last issue arrived in a timely manner because we sent it First Class, which was rather expensive, but we wanted to make sure it arrived before the holidays and we hadn't obtained our permit yet). And now that we (finally) have a clear understanding of the inner workings of the post office, the next issues should be arriving on a regular schedule.
As much as we were at the mercy of the post office (which is an incredibly helpless feeling), we do feel badly and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. As a token of our gratitude we will be including a free gift for everyone with our fourth issue due out in April.
Again, thank you SO MUCH for hanging in there with us, and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at any time at tfoster@tgfdesign.com.
Enjoy the magic!

There is another thread with a posted link, but here's the gist: it's a new magazine about Disney World. It's not an officially sanctioned publication but Lou Mongello is behind it; he's very knowledgeable about WDW. The photos and articles in the first two issues have been very nice. It costs $29.95 for 6 issues (1 year) and it is all about WDW: resorts, trivia etc. I have only received 1 magazine and I could not be happier with it.. Even my husband who is not at all a magazine person said he loved it.

I just placed my order. I can't believe I stopped viewing the boards for a few months as I was planning a (non-Disney) cruise and I heard nothing about this. Guess I have to fanatically read the boards year-round or I'll miss something. :goodvibes

I guess it depends on what you're interested in. Celebrations is a fan-produced magazine that takes an in-depth look at Walt Disney World from a visitor's point of view. Disney twenty-three is a Disney-produced publication (it's printed on heavier paper and is more professionally bound than a magazine) that covers the entire Disney corporation, and offers interviews and behind-the-scenes information that no outsider could provide. Except for the fact that they both are packed with wonderful, high-gloss pictures, the two really aren't comparable. Personally, I enjoy them both. :)

Yes. I received the 3rd issue on March 2nd. If your missing an issue, contact them through the magazine website, they are extremely quick in responding and very helpful.

D23 is completely different and ridiculously over-priced. I honestly like Celebrations better. It is new and there are some kinks to be worked out but please give 'em a break, they don't have the resources that Disney has. I think if you hang in there you'll be really pleased with the magazine.

Amen to that :sad2: I love Disney but there is a limit! And I think they reached it with this !

Personally, I dont think D23 magazine is overprived......I enjoy the size, the coffee table size, and the photos and articles are good. No ads, which is really nice. There has only been one, who knows whats in store in upcoming issues.
D23 is not for everyone. But, to those of us that are D23, its very good.

What exactly does being D23 mean?
D is for Disney and 23 is for 1923, the year that the Disney brothers opened shop.
I can't believe that Celebrations is still working out the kinks months and months after the first issue. It's really too bad.

I've been a subscriber since the first edition, and I'm thoroughly impressed by the content, size and overall quality of Celebrations magazine.
Fortunately, I didn't experience any of the issues that others have. I probably had a slow delivery of an edition or two, but they have all arrived in good shape.
Tim Foster and Lou Mongello have done a bangup job with this new venture. I'd love to see it go to monthly, instead of bimonthly, if they have the resources.

Yep, I've already renewed.
And if I may add, issue #6 features my first article for Celebrations -- Dining on the High Seas.

Is there a renewal card in issue#6? I had expected one in #5 but it wasn't there. I'm eagerly awaiting #6 and don't want to miss renewing. If there isn't a renewal card in there I'll have to contact them in another way and would like to do it sooner rather than later. Thanks for any info.

Mine just came today. There wasn't a renewal "card", just a reminder that it's the last issue in the subscription and a note to go to their website to re-up. I've already done so ... they sent out emails a couple of weeks ago, IIRC.

Issue 6 is the best issue to date IMO. Adventureland article, Jungle Cruise is featured attraction, article on the history of Discovery Island all the way back to a family living on it in the 1920's, and a write up about the originally planned resorts that never happened.
I renewed via paypal using the renew code to insure we don't miss an issue. :thumbsup2

We just got home from our trip today and my newest issue was home waiting for me. Maybe that'll help with the post-Disney blues.
I got the notice about it being the last issue and to renew my subscription. I did that when I got the last one. Does anyone know if I can double-check on that? I don't want to renew twice!

Does anyone know if the October issue will cover Christmas? We will be in DW for the MVMCP.
Also, has anyone been able to find Celebrations in a store? :confused3 I checked various newsstands and Borders, but they don't carry it. I would just prefer to buy the magazines individually rather than the subscription.

The Sept/Oct issue won't cover Christmas .... that presumably would be the Nov/Dec issue (at least based on last year's issue).
To the best of my understanding, Celebrations is only available via subscription, or orders to single issues, directly from the website (http://www.celebrationspress.com/). Buy a single issue and I bet you'll be impressed enough to subscribe.

I've been getting this magazine since the first issue and the quality is better than ever. I can't tell you how many pages are in it since I'm not at home but it's a pretty good size magazine with a lot of different articles and beautiful pictures. It's a bit pricey but I really have enjoyed it and will probably continue to subscribe.

I'll be upfront and admit my self-interest in Celebrations (I write for it), but I believe that the magazine is an incredible bargain. 80+ pages in each issue on heavy stock; excellent articles and columns and terrific photographers contribute to each issue. Any Disney fan (and being on these boards puts you into that club) would love this magazine.
I know the publishers and they are telling us that Celebrations has big plans for 2012, so we'll wait and see.

Has anyone else had issues with the magazine lately? My subscription expired and I renewed it after missing two issues (I moved, and had a lot going on). That was in November, and I still haven't received anything. I've emailed 3 times and gotten no reply, and even called and talked to Tim, who couldn't tell me why nothing had been sent, and assured me he was putting the 2 issues that weren't sent in the mail and I would start receiving the magazine regularly. That was 3 weeks ago, still nothing... I know Tim and Lou are great guys, but what should I do here? :confused3
(Just an FYI, they do have the new address since it was paid with PayPal, and Tim confirmed it on the phone. Plus, my mail has been forwarded.)
