The Taylors had a long Trip with some happy and sad times!

Well The taylors made it to Disneyland - It was great the first 3 days and then the last 2 were challenging, but we will get to that later...
It was The 3 kids and Me for the first 2 days and then My husband scott joined us thursday Night!!
Well Let's get started shall we!!!
ok so I went to the NKOTB concert monday night and did not get in till after midnight! And the alarm went off at 4:45am! that was a hard wake up! Well we were on the road and in the car by 5:20am! We were on our way. Let me say that the 3 kids and me driving was actually fabulous. Nicholas would just ask anastasia if he wanted something. We stopped once for a potty break only. We got in at 10:30am to the HOJO! They stated our room was checked out of but not ready. So we used the hotel bathroom to change into our disney outfits. that was a tad interesting but we were excited to go to the park and waste no time! I left the luggage in the car and off we went...

We went to Disneyland first and took some pics as we came in. We decided to wear our Mickey and minnie sets the first day!

Then I love the giant pumpkin they always have and we had to have a pic everyday in front of it! There was soo much sun and glare everywhere. But I had to get the traditional shots the first time in!

we then head to Fantasyland and ride snow white, The tea cups, which nicholas loved!!! And then ALice. We then went to Toon Town to Meet mickey! Nicholas when we opened the door yelled, "mickey!" But this is as close as he would get without me holding him. He did not cry or scream, just stared!

Then we walk out of Mickeys house and there was Minnie!

We then rode some rides and anastasia rode the Matterhorn as a single rider because jojo is not tall enough but Anastasia is not tall enough to take her herself. Then we go over to Nemo and it was only 25min wait!! WHAT!!! we sooo went in that line, and it was fabulous! Then Anastasia took Josephine on to space mountain! Somehow they let her go on that.
We decided to head back to the hotel since the room was ready and change into night wear, since we thought it would get chilly! But on the way......... We had to see the Halloween themed characters........................... More to come!!

Well we decided to head back to the hotel and on the way we met some spooky dressed characters! Nicholas was not amused and was ready for a nap and was not interested in characters at all!!!

Back at the hotel we change and relax for an hour before going back for night time fun....

Then we see the dapper dans! We love them!! They are singing and pick a person out of the audience everytime to help with a song and play thier bell thing. have no idea what it is called.!

Anastasia was thrilled to be picked. They sang all halloween themed disney songs. it was excellent. They took a picture wit hthe kids afterwards. In fact the girls were posed and nicholas started yelling "picture, picture!" so he wanted to take one too! he started doing that in the trip when he wanted to take a pic. But did he smile. um no!

Then we head over to indiana jones and anastasia was tall enough and got to ride single rider!!! off she went and Jojo and Nicholas waited with me! Nicholas started making silly faces when we waited for her to come out, it was so funny!

we rode the jungle cruise and then rode a couple fantasy land rides before heading back. The park closed at 8pm that night so we were in bed early. And I was ready to sleep after a long day of driving and walking on less then 5 hours sleep!

We woke up wed. and it was our NBC day. Well, we got up and we were at DL when the doors opened! Woo hoo!!!

then there was handy Manny. Nicholas would not go near him... He was so excited and he kept saying 'Manny' 'Manny' - when we walked away Nicholas was crying. He was so upset with himself not going to see him... he was just a little scared!

We tried to ride TOT but it was down, which it was for a lot of the trip! We were then walking back to DL to see sally and jack!
We waited in line for a while and finally got up there. They were spot on! Awesome!!! They loved the girls outfits and sally loved Nicholas' outfit. The girls started talking to them... asking sally if she got all her leaves yet, josephine was talking to jack about where zero was and that our dog scrappy can be his friend... it was sweet. I think we spent almost 5 minutes with them, which I am sure annoyed the people behind us in line.. here are some pics of the conversations!

NKOTB was awesome!!!! Loved it!!!!
I made nicholas and Josephines skirt set. Anastasia's outfit I got from another boutiquer.... I just love the outfits!! Everyone in DL just went crazy for them!

I love the pictures with jack and sally. Dallas didn't want to see them! We saw them out 2 different times, although I know the day we had on our jack outfits we did not see them.

well we left jack and sally and decided to go back to Calif. Adventures. The girls wanted to ride the new Toy story ride...

We stopped off at the Golden Wiener to grab some super yummy hot dogs! We love that place!

we then went over to Toy story mania and we waited in line for 40 minutes then it was shut down! so we got a line pass to come back later. that was a bummer. We go around and ride the little Mullholland Madness rolelrcoaster and the Goldyn Zephyr. We went to find Push and he was not out! We missed him the whole trip. Anastasia rode Grizzly Rapids as a single rider. She loves that ride and then we went back to DL since CA was closing!
We go straight to fantsyland and we are through the castle and we are deciding what to ride. Well a nice CM comes up to us to ask the kids what they want to ride. They say Peter pan but it is a 50 min. wait. She says "come with me!". She takes us through the exit and we wait a couple minutes and get to talk with her. She is part of the Dream Squad! She says she loves her job, she asks us if we are AP holders. We say yes and She says "oh thats too bad." I did not push why she asked. but I think sometimes thy do not always give out big prizes to AP holders. Anywho, she rides the ride with the girls and Nicholas and I get our own ship! It was a fabulous ride. We love it. When I get off the girls are holding up to tinkerbell pins. The CM says "tinkerbell put them in my bag while we were riding for the girls!". it was so nice of her and shewas super nice. I did not get a picture with her, I totally forgot!
We rode the tea cups again, and a few others before the park closed!

DAY 3:
Well this morning started out with me tired but ready for another day of fun!!!
We get to the park a few minutes after opening.
Nicholas just would not smile, he woke up tired and grumpy! And I left JoJo's bows at home grrrr.

We also rode Casey Jr. Which we all got in the back car. Love that ride and nicholas loves Choo Choos.
We walked around to frontierland and saw Woody was out!
Well We had to get some pics and autographs and he was so silly with the girls! Nicholas would not go tooo close!

We then go to Splash Mountain! Well we get up to the front and there is basically no wait. There is rules for how tall a child has to be to take a younger sibling on. Anastasia missed it by 1/2 an inch. So Jojo could not go but the CM asked me if my husband was in the Park. I said "no, he flys in later." so she says to hold on. She gets on there phone and talks to someone and comes back and says."it is not busy so another CM would love to take the girls on the ride and go throught the exit!" WOW! that is awesome. We meet Holly and she is so darn wonderful. She took the girls straight on and said when she got on that the girls are wonderful and they were making her laugh the whole time. She took a pic when they got off. It was really wonderful for them to do that.

Day 3 - again...

UPDATE :
Well Scott called and said that His plane had landed and he was looking for the shuttle to the Hotel. So we left and went back to the hotel. We went to our room and then about 15 minutes later Scott arrived... We all took a break and got ready to change for Mickey's Trick or Treat!! WOOO HOO
Oh we loved it. it was so Fabulous that we are already planning next years TOT!
We got to CA and waited in line! Nicholas said "pics please!"

Then we decided to take our energy to finding candy and Rides.
We stopped at some candy stops and also went to Toy Story Mania. Which Rocked again! Love the new ride! Then Anastasia and Scott went on Calif. Screamin.

our last ride of the night was Tower of Terror! The park had closed and we were one of the last families out!

They got so much candy that it filled a small suitcase. I enjoyed the healthy treats they gave out. Nicholas went crazy for the raisins and Freeze dried fruit. It was nice to see my healthy kids in the last hour ask only for 'healthy snacks please". the CM's would ask, "no candy". They would say, "no thank you." we had so many healthy snacks that we ate them the rest of the trip and also brought some home. We are still eating them. It was so fabulous. Scott and I thought it was so well organized and we loved it and will be back next year!

We went back to the hotel since it was past 11pm and there was still a couple more days left in the parks!

Update: Day 4 - Friday
Well, we woke up friday and Scott says "whatis up with jojo's eye." - Her right eye was completly closed and id had yellow crusty stuff. For all you mom's you know it is Pink Eye. Well we are in Calif. it is 7 am, what the heck do we do. well I looked at the Pink eye medication we had home before we left when I was packing and thought "why would we need this!". I am kicking myself. Josephine has only ever had it once before in her life.
I wait till 8am and call our pediatrician. they tell me that they will not call in a prescription without seeing her.
So I call our Nurse Hotline on our insurance. she lets me know that there is 3 in-network places we can go and gives me info. So I call the first one and she says they are not busy and gives me great directions.
We arrive at the urgent care - wait 15 minutes to be seen and then go into the room.

This was just the start of a bad day. We then get a prexcription and head to the Target near DL. The pharm. says an hour to wait. I then ask him "please we are on vacation can it be quicker." he got us our antibiotics in 5 minutes! Target is awesome at home for prescriptions and in DL! WOO HOO!
While in the Urgent care I called disney dining and moved our 9am reses at Minnies to 10:50...
We'll we go to DL at 10:30! We gave her her first dose of meds and off we went to the park. At this point we thought, it's ok we will make the best of it no big deal!
We rushed out the door, so I wore my glasses this day.

Ok we get to Minnie's at 10:45. Check in and get sat immedietly. The restaurant was practically empty. which we thought was wierd at that point. we were next to a family that wer the most obnoxious people ever! the mom had the highest pitch voice when she talked to her 1 year old making her take pictures. ugghhh I needed a drink after sitting next to them.
Well I got up got the 3 kids food, scott got his and I got coffee. At this point the characters kept coming by FAST. All these characters were within 15 minutes, literally one right after the other so I never got a chance to get a omlete or food etc...

So I get up to grab food and the Buffet was cleared. They start clearing a little after 11 am. Did we know that. no! Did they tell us, "hey get food it will be gone soon." - no!! I was mad! Scott at this point said leave it alone, lets not ruin the day. Don't worry about it. At this point I thought, ok I'll just let it go, we were determined to have a great day....

We decided to go to Pooh and ride Splash. I ride and we get a switch rider for us to use later and little did we know the chaos that would bring.

We sit down and the new menu is fabulous! Amazing food and it was perfect!
The princesses come around.
Let me say that SW did not oohh and ahh at anastasia's set. she was there less than a minute and anastasia tried to talk with her about the dwarfs and SW was just not going along. I wanted a pic of just anastasia with her, but it just did not happen.

Cinderella was in AHHH of Jojo's set. She adored it and was asking jojo all sorts of questions and anastasia asked her if lucifer got to go with her to the castle, and she said "no, bruno and lucifer do not get along." She was the nicest of all the princesses!

the food was great. It was an amazing change to the food. More expensive than before, but really lovely!

We get out of ariels and realize the Play Parade is starting. there was an empty spot and we took it!
Scott hates parades and we love them. But at the end he realized he loved it!

We then head over to Splash Mountain , Scott goes up with the girls and the person at the front grabbed my husband arm and told him no. He says, you must choose only one child to go with you not both. WHAT! Now we were at Disneyland for New Years eve week and in april for 4 days and Disneyworld last summer. This is how we did it. He told him that on busy days they only allow just 1 parent and 1 child. We told the gentleman that this is how we do it, he told us to “read the pass and read it correctly”. Excuse me there is no reason to talk down to us. My husband took my 4 year old on which made my 7 year old unhappy. When my husband went I asked the guy what exactly he meant and let him know that is not how we understood the pass and that is how we have done it on trips in the past. He let me know that we were cheaters and that is not how the pass was meant to be used. I walked away and I felt horrible to be treated that way. We were always using it that way and a couple times we asked that it said 2 but we have 2 little ones and the Person in the front always said it was ok.
So we Scott goes with jojo and then a light bulb went off for anastasia.. she says, I can do single rider!! yep she can!

Let me say that this was the straw that broke the camels back! The Park was packed people were annoying us and things just not going well. That guy put a bad tast in our mouth. We tried all day to let things go and make a great day out of bad situations. We decided at this poing to leave and call it a day.
I made the kdis take pics in the front as we were leaving. People kept walking behind when the PhotoPass guy has them posed and everything. people were being rude!

Great update! I love all the customs. They looked great! I think I (meaning Lily) need those orange polka dot shoes! What is with people and NBC? :confused3 We could barely walk without getting stopped as well. That outfit and Lily's Nemo outfit at Epcot were the most attention I'd ever received for customs. :confused3 Sorry about the pinkeye! We have the same issue with the rider swap passes. Most CMs are nice and let us take both older kids back on again, but some are pretty vigilant about not letting us. We tend to have a lot of fights over that so we've had to resort to saying "next ride it will be your turn." That is great about the Dream Team person! She was probably giving away annual passes :rotfl: I could've used that! I did not know they had changed the menu at Ariel's Grotto, we might've gone had we known. I had ressies for breakfast at Plaza Inn but we slept through them :rolleyes1

You're trip report is bringing me back to my childhood... Growing up in Cali we went to Disneyland all the time. Had my HS grad night in California adventure. Can't wait for your update. Hope that the next day was better than the last.

We rode a bunch of rides and then went over to the Character meet , I wanted those pics with chip and dale together. They were actually going on break, but the CM had them stay for us... It was really nice of them!

The parks today were waaayyy over filled. Like crazy overfilled. IT was like NYE all over again. Rides were 90 minutes wait etc... Anastasia went to get a single rider pass for calif. scream and they said no. that the park was too busy and they were not giving them out... hmmmm.
but nicholas saw the Carousel in Calif. adv... and well there was not stopping him!

We went over to Grizzly bear Rapids and we had gotten a FP for that time and scott and the girls go and also get a switch rider. While I was waiting with nicholas. we had a snack and a water. It was relaxing and it was so darn hot out, anywho.. the CM came over and said "you understand how that pass works right." I say "yep" and he says " just want to say that there is a lot of cheating going on lately and you should know you need to choose just one child to go on with you." I tell him " i get it, thanks". Now what the heck... was there a meeting somewhere that was cracking down on this... It brought back the day befores crap and it irritated me. So when they got back I took jojo and anastasia rode single rider.
At this point we realized to get some lunch and do some jedi training... We got there 45minutes early and got our spots. I made signs for the kids and they were ready. We got some yummy cheeseburgers and Chicken and sat and waited. Josephine held a sign that said "Pick my sister, she can do it!" with an arrow pointing to her. Well She got picked first!!! he said " I believe in your sisters faith in you!" He said jojo could go to, but she did not want to... Scott was sooo happy she was picked first and was happy she got to be on the stage and fight Darth Vader!

Saturday it was a hot day that was just frustrating with rude people and cm's everywhere refused to let us use our switch rider passes liek before riders were not allowed on most rides due to busy crowds. We were there on NYE and that was crazy busy and never had those problems!

Well I was tired and did not take any more pics that day. We went on a few more rides in DL and by 7 pm nicholas was grumpy and was done with the day. So I took him back to the hotel so I could pack and get ready for the drive in the morning. Scott stayed with the girls for another 3 hours at the Park.
The next morning Nicholas woke up with an awful case of pink eye and sadly had some bathroom issues. I will just leave it at that. It was a hard drive home with lots of stops......

Awww well they looked so cute in all of them. I have not been to Disneyland in forever. I grew up in Southern California and used to go quite frequently. One of these days I should try to talk my DH into a CA visit. We still have some family and lots of friends there!

Just a little fyi when we used to have to do the switch pass we would get fast passes at the same time so that the other kid could use a fast pass at the same time that way the person who had to sit out could go on the ride with one kid and the other kid could use a fast pass to go if that makes sense.

We have five in our group too and when my youngest couldn't ride that is how we did it. Hope that makes sense and maybe helps in the future. I can imagine how frustrating that must be.

Sorry your trip had some dissapointing moments. I know when rude cm or guests can make it not fun. And both my girls just came down with pink eye too after our soccer tournament and were out of school and entire week so I feel your pain. ((hugs)).

thanks, we are going to try doing that next trip. it was frustrating, but we are happy to be going back and will have a fab trip no matter what.
