Every year I get the itch, and just about every year I end up starting a Christmas in the Parks photo thread way too early, even beating the Christmas stuff on sale at Walmart.

Sooooo, just in time... here goes!

I've got hundreds, but I always run out by the end of the thread.

Please feel free (encouraged...begged!) to post your own or just comments/questions. If the thread doesn't get buried, it tends to get all kinds of lovely pictures from all kinds of lovely people that gets us all in the mood for the coming Disney Holiday Magic.

Looks great! We have never experienced WDW at Christmas. We are due to travel on 29th Oct until 12th Nov this year - are we likely to see any christmas decorations whilst we are there or is it too early?

When do the decorations and lights go up in WDW? When does the Christmas parade start - do you only see the Christmas parade at Mickeys Magical Christmas Party? I notice this starts on Nov 10th - is it worth buying tickets to the christmas party?

Thanks so much for posting this! I am SO excited. We are leaving in a little less than a month and I can't WAIT to see all this. I have been to Disneyland several times during the holidays and it is my FAVORITE time of year! I almost hate to go any other time now because the parks almost seem plain without all the decorations and it seems even MORE magical at the holidays!! I was there in 06 at Halloween and the beginning of Nov and they were JUST starting to put up the Christmas and we vowed that we HAD to come back to see it at Christmas time. We will be there thansksgiving week and are staying through the 2nd of December.

We will be at Epcot 3 days including the Sat after Thanksgiving specifically so we can see the holidays around the world and candelight procession etc.

I am specificially hoping that on our first two days we will get ALL of the epcot stuff done so that on that saturday we can focus ONLY on seeing all the special holiday stuff. I want to have enough time for my girls to be able to hear each of the story tellers etc. Do you think one can do that in one day?

I LOVE :love: all these pictures especially the first one...the castle lit-up with snowflakes on it. I want to go the week after Thanksgiving next year, but I'm having a hard time convincing DH. Those of you going the week after Thanksgiving this year are so lucky. When did you book? I told DH the other day I would like to book in January to make sure we get to stay where we want.

Are these storytellers there on a regular basis, or only at the party? How would you have time to see all these storytellers and still enjoy the party.

When do they put the garlands up over Main Street? I want a really good picture of the castle, and those kinda get in the way!

You guys are making me want to blow my savings for escrow fund and go to Disney for my Thanksgiving vacation. I'm trying to be a responsible adult and save extra because I know my escrow will double Jan 1. But blowing it all on a Thanksgiving vacation to the World sure sounds nice.

Subbing and I have a question:
When do they put the garlands up over Main Street? I want a really good picture of the castle, and those kinda get in the way!

The garland over main street was up the week before thanksgiving when we were there last year.
If you move further up main street you can get shots of the castle w/o the garland in it. :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh - that photo of the castle with the fireworks is AMAZING!!! I hope I managed to get one half as good as that on my December visit! You must have the most awesome camera!

We've decided it's fairies with pixie dust duty. Honestly, I shot two versions of that photo, one with flash and one without. The flash version picked up those little things, but I never saw them until I was reviewing the pictures later that night.

I really hope so, but I doubt it. It's not listed on the calendar. Animal Kingdom has a special Christmas Parade and that's listed on the calender.
