Red dress for Formal Night?

My girlfriend is planning to wear a long red dress for Formal Night. I thought it's ok but each time I read about women's outfit or look at pictures in the web I see ladies dressing in black. It's ok to go in red?? Thanks!

I wore a raspberry color formal 2 years ago, a blue gown last year and a dark blue gown this year. Red will be great.

My current plan is to wear a dark blue one, but if the tailor doesn't call me soon, then I'm going to be in red too!! I think she'll look great! And red usually looks really nice in pictures!

American women tend to favor black because you can wear black just about anywhere. In fact, the Little Black Dress (or "LBD") is an important part of many American women's wardrobes. But there is no reason why your girlfriend should not wear red. I am sure she will be quite lovely in it.

She does look Great in that dress :eek: , I just don't want her to feel unconfortable.
