Has anyone stopped eating carbs and lost weight? I was thinking about doing this. I also have diabetes but I am getting the point where this weight not coming off is really putting a damper on my motivation. Please help with any info thanks.

yes.... BUT. I can lose weight very quickly when I do not eat carbs. And I will do 2 carb free days in a row about every other week. The big BUT is that you do a total low carb diet for months and months - when you return to normal eating, and you will eventually have to return to normal eating - you can gain the weight back supper easy. When you do eat carbs they need to be of the fruit and veggie variety, and you will probably never be able to eat white foods (white bread, white rice, white potatoes, etc.) on a regular basis again. Roll with dinner once or twice a month - ok. Daily turkey on white bread. No good - you will gain all the weight you lost by doing low carb right back

This is just my personal observations and experiences - YMMV.

Thanks. I tried to start today but had a fall back when I was in starving in class and grabbed the almonds from my purse. Tomorrow is another day.

I have been doing low carb for 3 months. It is tough. For me it is a mind game. I have to think about how bad bread will taste (eventhough I know it's awesome)

So far I have lost 41 LBS. I keep to about 20-30 carbs a day.

Almonds are not carbs. You were fine to eat them.

I am a low carber. I do SoBe and have been for about 6 months. I have lost 35 lbs. I am not perfect and lose pretty steadily at a whopping 0.5 lbs per week. I do have a bite of dessert and will add some mini chocolate chips to my ricotta at . I feel like I could eat like this forever so it is okay. I have 18 lbs to go and I figure it could take me about 6-9 months to lose that and i am okay with that. I figure slow means that I have changed my lifestyle and it will stay gone.
