Hi everyone! We are back and had a GREAT time!!

Welcome to all of you who have decided to read this trip report. It's going to be filled with lots of pics, probably lots of chatter, lots of food porn, a mini meet and of course Halloween fun!!

If anyone is interested in reading my Pre-Trip report you will find that here: Amuck, Amuck, Amuck! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1893156)

Otherwise I'll give a quick review of who went on this trip:

Beth ~ That's me! A SAHM with four kids and a wonderful husband who is a prince for tolerating my Disney obsession. :)

Ruben ~ DH and high school sweetie. :lovestruc

Adam ~ DS who is starting to be too cool for Disney. :cool2:

Noelle ~ DD who loves Disney but hates the long drive. LOL :hippie:

Lindsey and Hannah ~ Twins who look and act nothing alike, but love Disney as much as I do. princess: princess:

So there you have it. Now grab a spot on the big, comfy couch. No fighting over who sits where! Although, I'm not sure who that lady is already there, so feel free to kick her out.

I've got soda, lemonade and popcorn, so help yourselves. popcorn:: If you want anything stronger you're on your own. Diet Pepsi is as strong as I go. ;)

This first morning is kind of a blur because like most people the night before a much awaited vacation, I didn't get much sleep. The alarm went off around 6:30 a.m. and I toyed with the idea of just turning over and going back to sleep. While that was a mighty tempting thought, I didn't. Instead I somehow managed to get everyone up, fed, showered, dressed, and ready to go. We packed the van, and I mean packed! You'd have thought we were leaving for a month. And we hit the road around 8:15. Not as early as I'd have liked but still pretty darn good for this family of slow pokes.

As many of you know, I had been worried about the van and whether it would make it across the mountains leaving Las Vegas. I had been prepared to make the trip without the A/C on and as it turns out, I almost needed the heat on! It was only in the low 50's when we left. The kids were all bundled up in blankets. But I was thrilled thinking if it was this cold here, surely that means it will be nice and chilly at Disneyland too, right?? Ummm yeah, we'll get to that part later.

We took it nice and slow and our first stop was in Baker. We always seem to end up in Baker at Burger King for breakfast. I guess it's just a tradition now. LOL The van had done well so far but we wanted to give it a break. I grabbed the camera to take some shots of the area, and hmmm, it's not working. Ok, what am I doing wrong? Let's try this again. Nope. Nothing. Alrighty, apparently the lack of sleep has caused me to forget how to work the camera, so I hand it to Ruben to see what he can do with it. Turns out it's not me or my lack of sleep, it's definitely not working. Great. A week at Disneyland and no camera!!! Perfect. Well, you all didn't really want pics with this TR did you?? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Nothing we could do about the camera at that point. It was time to get going again. The rest of the drive was long and boring as the drive from Vegas to......well, anywhere, usually is. Nothing to see but desert. But the van did fine! I was beyond relieved about that. Whew!
Our first stop was at my BIL's house in Pasadena. He had decorated his yard for Halloween and me being the Halloween fan that I am, had to go and see it. :yay: Oh yeah, and we were supposed to be there to visit with family, or some such thing. LOL

It was nice to see everyone again. My MIL and FIL were there, along with my BIL and his wife, and my SIL. We had a nice lunch out in their back yard. Chicken, rice, beans, tamales, etc. Yummy! No food porn however since my camera was still playing dead. The weather was definitely warming up. But still very pleasant out. We all had a nice time just talking and visiting.

My BIL took some pics of the kids and sent me some copies, so I do have a few pics from that day.

Hannah, Noelle and Lindsey snoozing in the graveyard:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/IMG_3734.jpg

We stayed at his house for most of the day, eating, playing pool, playing the Wii, and just hanging out. From there it was on to my MIL's house in Simi Valley, about a 45 minute drive, where we'd be spending our first night.

So far, so good. The van was holding it's own, no one was sick, (not even me, my cold was totally gone!), the weather was perfect. All in all, a great day.

Oh, but what to do about that darn camera??? We didn't have the money for a new one or the time/money to try and have that one repaired. Hmmm, maybe I'd end up having to just sketch the whole trip! :sad2:

Up next.......Day Two, Fires, Chihuahuas, and a pirate ship.

We do this every trip, at least once if not several times. Noelle loves to draw. She's pretty good. Well, in my totally unbiased opinion of course. I suck at drawing but we all go to humor her. :)

I think we need to get a big group in there in March so we can all compare drawings. I know mine will be good for a chuckle! LOL

See, the trick is you go with ME and then you have to sit in the back row (handicapped seating) and when you hold up your picture the only person who can see it is the Imagineer--and it's really too far away for he/she to get a good look!;)

Monday morning I woke up and the first thing on my mind was the camera. I didn't care what else we did but I was not going to Disney without a camera! Ruben had spent some time on it the day before trying to figure out why it wasn't working, and he thought he had gotten it to start working again. But I was still leery. What if it decided to shut down on us again??

Then we had an idea. My MIL had a camera that was fairly new that she almost never used so we asked her if we could borrow it for the trip and she said yes! Yay! We'd bring ours AND hers so between the two cameras we'd be covered.

Our plans for the day were just to hang out with my in-laws for awhile and then head to Disney. The kids wanted to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua, so off we went to a near by shopping area in Westlake Village.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/Beverly_hills_chihuahua.jpg

Ruben and I decided to walk around the outdoor shopping area and skip the movie since we weren't really interested in seeing it. We had our camera with us and we decided to take some test shots to make sure it was working ok.
Some pics from the shopping area:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5580.jpg

I thought I'd peek over this guy's shoulder and see what he was reading.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5582.jpg

Actually he was looking up at something and I'm pretty sure it was all the smoke in the air from the fires that had been burning. The air was pretty nasty and I could see bits of ash falling. Probably not the best time to be doing outdoor shopping.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5581.jpg

The smoke was drifting in front of the sun making it an eerie orange glow.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5586.jpg

After the movie was over it was around 1:30 and we decided it was time to hit the road for Disney before the smoke and fires got any worse. They had already shut down the 118 freeway at this point, so we hopped on the 101 and headed out of the area.

Some smoke from the freeway:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5590.jpg

It didn't take long at all to make it to Disney, after a quick stop along the way to visit more family in the area. Traffic was pretty light being a holiday for some (Columbus Day) so I'm sure that helped. We pulled up at HoJo a little after 4 and I was sooooo excited to finally be there.

Check in was quick and hassle free and soon we were up in the room, the kids changing to go swimming while I unpacked. Our passes weren't blocked out that day, and we could have gone to the parks, but I just wanted to take it easy that first night. Plus the kids were itching to try the new Castaway Cove area. They LOVED it!!! The whole pirate ship theming is so cute. What a wonderful addition to the HoJo.
Some pics of them having fun!

We have stayed at the DLH for our last two visits. One of the reasons being for the fun kiddie pool. I have to say that the HOJO pool looks like even more fun than the DLH pool. It looks like you all had a blast!

Hi! Thanks for reading! :yay:
It is great. The kids loved it and the only problem was they wanted to be out there almost every day! :rotfl: That is the main pool area, it has spray guns, slides, the pirate ship, a kiddie pool, water fountains that shoot up, and a hot tub. Then they have the garden pool area which is also nice, but is just a regular pool for those with older kids, or who want to escape the kids play area.

We were able to get the entertainment rate of $59 a night, plus a roll away for another $7. So our total was $66 a night plus tax of course. An unbeatable deal for us! And we were still able to walk to and from Disney each day so we didn't have to hassle with our van and parking.

I'll post some pics of our room next. I just reached my image limit so I had to break up the post. LOL

Try it next time. See what you think! :)

Love that photo!

My video camera broke right before our honeymoon. So my mom and dad let me borrow their camera. We barely took any video but it was nice that we had it.

Luckily we always bring two cameras with us on trips so if one breaks, we're covered.

Love the report so far!

We love HoJos!! Last week were were at DLH but I was wishing we were at HoJos. I had HoJos booked but I got the AP7 rate at DLH so I canceled. I thought that HoJos was just as nice at DLH and the same ammount of walking to and from the park. I think we will never stay at DLH and just stick with HoJos. :)
Anyway I love your TR!!

Aww, thanks. The kids were just having too much fun. I think in March, if it's warm enough, we should get a couple fun shots of those brave enough to put on a swim suit (not me!), playing on and around the pirate ship. ;)

The rate at HoJo's is great. But honestly, I'd be willing to pay even more then that because of how great it is.

I'll go ahead and finish up day two since it was almost at an end anyway.

After having a blast in Castaway Cove, the kids came up to the room to shower and get ready for bed. Ruben went out to get something fast and cheap to eat (Taco Bell for the kids, Quiznos for us) and I took some pics of the room while he was gone. After dinner, it was time to chill with some tv and then hit the hay.
Our first day at Disney was tomorrow!! Whooo hooo!

Room pics:

This is the area with the fridge and microwave. The fridge is small, but it's enough to hold some milk, water bottles, Diet Pepsi, some Capri Sun, and some cream cheese for our bagels.

The bathroom. Ignore all my clutter. I forgot to take pics before unpacking.

The shower. The shower head is nice and tall. I'm 5'9" and I hate having to crouch down to wash my hair.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5631.jpg

This time the room had an extra sink outside of the bathroom. The room we spent one night in during June, did not. I loved having the extra sink. Made it so much easier to get ready in the mornings!

The roll away which actually fits perfectly in the back corner of the room.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5638.jpg

The balcony. It's not very big, but it's nice to have one. Noelle actually sat out there a few mornings and did some homework while everyone else was getting ready.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5639.jpg

Some shots taken from our balcony. We were in room 1401 and had an ok view. In June we were on the 6th floor and had an awesome view of the fireworks.
That building in the foreground there is Mimi's Cafe a very good family restaurant.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5648.jpg

The sign I made to put on our door. The funny thing is, we ended up in the last room before the door to the stairs. So unless someone was taking the stairs down 4 flights, no one saw it but us and the maid. LOL Oh well. I put it up anyway.

And the gift shop which had just about every item you could think of, even pregnancy tests. I guess for when you are leaving your hotel room for Disney and you think, "I should really take a pregnancy test just to make sure before I hop on the Matterhorn." :confused3
You'll pay a pretty penny for it all though. A travel sized item that would cost 99 cents in the store, was $2.99 in the gift shop! Ouch. So try not to forget anything. Bring your own pregnancy tests with you! :thumbsup2

Do they let grown-ups on the slide? I wanna go!
Funny about the pregnancy tests. About 19 years ago, we did a Disneyland/Knott's Berry Farm trip. DS was a year old, flipped off the bed in the motel and threw up. Then I started throwing up too (rare for me). The sistas were paining me, and AF was nowhere to be seen. On the drive home (400 miles), we did not stop to unpack; we went right to Walgreen's. Got the pg test and bingo! DD was on her way. Had we been staying at a place selling the tests, I probably would have bought one there.

So I was out running errands today, and it was so weird to be in the stores and still see Halloween stuff. Since we were surrounded with Halloween items for a week, and the kids dressed up in their costumes and did their trick-or-treating, it kind of made it seem like Halloween was over. LOL

But it will be here a week from tomorrow. :yay:

I did spend some time browsing in the Christmas section of the store. I have to admit I'm looking forward to Christmas. :)

Well.......I am and I'm not. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. I love all the things it's supposed to stand for; family time, good will, etc.
But I hate all the things it's become; running around trying to "do it all", spending a fortune on gifts for people you speak to once a year that will end up shoved in a closet, etc.
That part I hate.

I told the kids this year I could tell Santa to pick out presents for them all OR they could get a gift card to go shopping with to pick out their own presents. I'm really hoping they go for the gift card. So much easier. Especially since everytime I ask them what they want for Christmas, I get the same answer, "I dunno". :sad2:

The twins still want toys, but the older two....ugh, so hard to know what to buy them.

Anyway, I'm getting way off topic and rambling now. LOL I'm just excited for all the holidays coming up! :yay:

Last year I bought one of those meals you just warm up for Thanksgiving because I had just gotten out of the hospital in September after being in for so long. You know I think I am going to do that again this year. I am making this a homemade Christmas. I have always wanted an old fashioned Christmas and this year is it.I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

I always feel like such a Scrooge or Grinch when I say I don't like Christmas. It's not that I don't. I really do. I just don't like what it's turned into.

A homemade Christmas sounds so nice. I hope you are able to do that. I've always wanted to pack up the family and escape to a little cabin in the mountains somewhere. Go cut down a tree, make the decorations, string popcorn in front of a fire, and not have a mall within hours! LOL
It all sounds so nice and very Waltons. Or I'm guessing it's very Waltons since I never really saw one episode of that show. :rolleyes1

As for Thanksgiving, I'll probably order a packaged meal. We have a Claim Jumper restaurant about 5 minutes away and they make great food. I can cook, I used to host the Thanksgiving dinners when we were in MI and there were around 25 of us. But I just don't want to. Ruben works until 5:30 that day, so it will be a small, late dinner with just the six of us.

Frankly, I could skip the whole meal and just have a slice of pumpkin roll, pumpkin cheesecake, and pumpkin pie. :rotfl:

The same thing happened to me today! I couldn't figure out why Rite Aid still had all theie Halloween stuff out! :rotfl:

even pregnancy tests. I guess for when you are leaving your hotel room for Disney and you think, "I should really take a pregnancy test just to make sure before I hop on the Matterhorn."

When Robert and I were on our honeymoon cruise, which started 6 days after our wedding, we were wandering around Juneau and found a bookstore. The bookstore, since it was in a touristy area, sold pg tests. We were *this close* to buying one, but it was an unknown brand for far more than the known brands cost at home. And hubby knew 100% sure that I was pg, so we didn't buy one (note: I was only *maybe* 9 days out from conception but the changes were profound already and got even more profound before the end of our cruise...the "girls" grew two cup sizes in 2 weeks for starters).

So while we might never have been tempted at HoJos, it's good for touristy places to carry them, b/c you really never know when you might want to find out. :goodvibes

So while we might never have been tempted at HoJos, it's good for touristy places to carry them, b/c you really never know when you might want to find out. :goodvibes

OK, on to page 4.Hi Molly! Glad you're here reading, even if it is backwards. ;)
Wow, who knew so many women were taking or thinking of taking pregnancy tests on vacation! :rotfl: I guess there is a rhyme to that reason after all, or something like that. lol

I wanted to get Day Three up right now, but I've got to do some baking. I'm making Halloween cupcakes for Ruben's work, anyone wanna help? ;) And I've got to do some ChaCha-ing or I won't need to worry about Christmas and presents at all because I won't be able to afford them! LOL

So, I'll try to do it later tonight if we don't end up going out for my b-day that is. We'll see. Thanks for waiting! :flower3:

Cute pictures with the girls in the "graveyard". I thought it was cut that the twins folded their arms like they were really in a coffin.

That smoke pictures make me very sad. Those fires are so sad for those families. The orange sky was really freaky.

JaneJetson - we first stayed in the mansions and loved it and then our family of three (DH,DW,DD) had twins and we then stayed in the alligator bayou section and absolutely loved it. Riverside is our "home" at disneyworld. My wife and I are getting ready to celebrate our 20th anniversary and we hope to maybe go to DL or WDW without kids and stay at a deluxe resort (would be our first time)(would also be our first time truely away from the kids).

Now back to the thread....Can't wait for the next installment!!!!
Loved the shot of the kids in the lawn with the tomb stones. Had to show it to the wife as we were watching "The Office" last night.

Yes, today was my birthday. We aren't doing much. I'm still tired from the trip believe it or not. We were going to go out to eat, but honestly ordering food in just sounded so much more peaceful. LOL

Some of you might remember the Kitty Litter cake recipe from my pre-trip report. I finally made it!! LOL I have no clue how it tastes. We haven't dug into it yet. But for a first attempt I think it turned out alright. :rotfl:

The kids totally got a kick out of it. Adam walked in and says to me, "I don't even want to know what that is." :rotfl2: Poor kids. They just never know what to expect from their old mom. If anyone wants the recipe it can be found here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Kitty-Litter-Cake/Detail.aspx

And I made some cupcakes for Ruben to take into work tomorrow. I tried to decorate each one of them different.

Today was our first day in the parks and I couldn't wait. The beds at HoJo are very comfy and I slept ok, but for some reason I kept waking up. Wide awake, positive it was time to get up for the day. First time that happened it was midnight. Second time it was 3 a.m.

Finally it was time to get up, get dressed and head to the Disneyland. The park opened at 9 a.m. and we got there around 8:15. I found a spot in line while Ruben and the two older kids went searching for a brick that another DISer had asked us to find and photograph for her. And they snapped some shots near the CA letters.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5655.jpg

They opened the gates around 8:45 and after we grabbed a stroller (freebie with Disney Visa, we use it to hold our stuff instead of a locker) we took some pics with Goofy. I loved his skeleton costume!

First stop on Main Street was the Blue Ribbon Bakery for some breakfast goodies. I'd heard so much about the chocolate croissants, the cinnamon rolls and the seasonal pumpkin muffins, that I had to try them. (Warning: Time to let the food porn begin! LOL)

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5665.jpg

Of the three, the pumpkin muffin was the best. They were all good, but that's the only one I'd order again. Very moist with the right amount of cream cheese frosting.

From there we headed straight for Pirates of the Caribbean my favorite ride in the park. I was so glad it wasn't closed after all.
Some shots to show how empty the park was. If only it was like that all the time!

We did POTC, Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and tried to do Splash but it was down at that moment.

Some pictures of the mansion with the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. I love that ride. It's a close second to Pirates for me.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5693.jpg

After the ride we got in line to see Jack and Sally. It was a pleasant surprise to see them as I'd been told they were only out on week-ends. I am so happy they've been added to the park now. I was surprised to see how quickly the CMs cut off the line for them, but then I saw how much time they devoted to each guest. At least while we were there, the interaction with them was great.

Noelle had a giant pen she used for autographs. (you can see it in Sally's hand in the first pic) Jack asked her what she feeds her pen to make it grow so big. LOL
She said "Nothing" and he acted very surprised and said her pen must be starving then.

I can't remember what all was said, I just remember how clever they were.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5696.jpg

As we were walking through NOS we ran into Captain Jack and snapped a quick photo with him. He was being chased by kids and grown women alike. LOL He was rather on the small side. My 11 year old DD was almost as tall as him.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5675.jpg

Really enjoying your trip report and all the great pics. My gosh those homemade cupcakes look as good as anything at the Blue Ribbon Bakery! Tell me, was the cinnamon roll nice and "yeasty" like homemade ones are, or was it super sweet and too gooey like cinnabon's?

Well, this is only a guess on part since I haven't heard anything "official" but I think they will be out just while the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay is up, which is until after Christmas.

That seems like the logical timing, but who knows. They were great though. I think we had the best interations with them out of all the characters we saw.

Tell me, was the cinnamon roll nice and "yeasty" like homemade ones are, or was it super sweet and too gooey like cinnabon's?Ummm, it's been awhile since I've had one from Cinnabon, but from what I remember this was not like that. Not very gooey at all, in fact the outer edges were even a tad dry. When you got past that, it was warm and soft but not mushy and not too sweet.

I will say the cream cheese frosting was very cream cheesy so if you are not a fan of cream cheese don't eat it, or scoop half the frosting off. (Hmmm, how many times can I use the words cream cheese in a sentence. LOL)

I've got some things to do around the house, but I'll try to work more on Day Three later. :)

My husband and I are always annoyed when people take tons of flash photos on rides like Pirates and HM. Of course...on our last trip my husband "accidently" snapped this photo...

So I guess we're all bad every now and again. We took tons of photos on Small World at WDW. Everyone else in the boat was so we figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

I did, however, get a group of people to turn their flashing light necklaces off on Pirates once though.

Great shot! What a happy accident. ;)

Yeah, tons of flash shots gets annoying. We were on POTC with a group who'd never been there and they took a few. Maybe 3 or 4 throughout the whole ride, and it didn't bother me. Any more then that though might have.
And flashing necklaces would have totally annoyed me because those are constant! Ugh.

Yeah...we were in the back of the boat, the necklaces were in the front. I just kind of yelled up, "can you please turn off the necklaces?" Nothing. "Please." Nothing. then other random people in the boat were like, "turn off the necklaces!" They turned them off right before the first drop. Everyone in the boat clapped. I yelled up to them, "thank you."

Really I just love to bake, and sending it in keeps it out of my mouth! And off my hips. LOL (Gotta get to my weight loss goal!)

Anyway, they bought me the Twilight book! Finally I'll get to read it and see what all the fuss is about. :rotfl:

I just thought I'd share that since I know some of you reading along are Twilight fans. :)

After the ride we got in line to see Jack and Sally.

As we were walking through NOS we ran into Captain Jack and snapped a quick photo with him. He was being chased by kids and grown women alike. LOL He was rather on the small side. My 11 year old DD was almost as tall as him.

You're killing me with the food porn. Must Eat Salad!

That is a really uncrowded park! The last time we took our kids, they shot a picture of themselves lying down in the middle of Main Street, because there was nobody else around. That was about a half hour before closing. We never get uncrowded in the morning, since we always have to go in-season due to teaching schedule.

That's funny that Jack S. talks. I would not have pegged him for a "voiced" character.

Maybe Capt. Jack was one of those little Jacks from POTC III.:rotfl:

Wow, Beth, this is a great TR! I am loving all the pics. Your DD's laying on the ground pretending to be dead at your in-laws is too cute! I love how they are so willing to just ham it up! I can't even get my DD to smile for the camera.:rotfl:

The Kitty Litter cake is awesome! Although, it is hard to imagine myself partaking. It looks to real. I may have to make it and see how mine turns out.

So I was out running errands today, and it was so weird to be in the stores and still see Halloween stuff. Since we were surrounded with Halloween items for a week, and the kids dressed up in their costumes and did their trick-or-treating, it kind of made it seem like Halloween was over. LOL

I am just getting caught up on your report and read this. We were at the Halloween party the same night your family was. My daughter (she is almost 4 years old) is still convinced that this year's Halloween is over and that the Halloween coming up is next year's Halloween. Her understanding of time is obviously still not quite developed  . She wants a whole new costume and everything. I am not going along with that one as I had her costume custom made since she just HAD to be Wendy Darling.

Anyway, thought I would share. Now I am going back to reading.

You should try the kitty litter cake. It's fun just to make it and see everyone's reactions. Take it someplace with a lot of teens or guys. They get a kick out of gross stuff. LOL

Okay, I am caught up. I cannot believe how dead Disney was your first day. We arrived on Thursday afternoon. It seemed so busy to us in the afternoons and evenings. Thankfully the mornings were nice.

It was our first time going to the party. I thought it was fun and I am glad we went, but I think it would have been better if our kids had been older. My daughter is almost 4 and my son is 2. They are usually asleep by 7:00 Idaho time. Which is 6:00 Disney time. The party made for a long night for them -even with a late nap. Also the lines were a little long for my son. My daughter did great waiting in all the lines. The only trouble we ran into was trying to meet the real Wendy. Of course that was my daughter's main priority since she was dressed as Wendy. While waiting in the line to meet her, we heard the dreaded "Peter and Wendy are going to be leaving us soon" announcement. My daughter was almost in tears, so I brought her up to the rope so that she could at least see Wendy. Peter saw her and his eyes seriously lit up. He and Wendy came right up to her after their meet and greet time. They were amazing. It totally made the night for us.

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg255/yakety76_photos/IMG_5103.jpg

As for my daughter's dress, I could not find a pre-made Wendy costume for a girl anywhere. I found a risque teenager one, but that was it. Thankfully, I found a lady to make one. After watching the Peter Pan movie, my daughter had her heart set on being Wendy and the rest of us dressing as the other characters.

Yes, the parks were pretty empty our first two days, Tues and Wed.

After our fun meeting with Jack, Jack and Sally, we were headed towards Big Thunder Mountain and were easily sidetracked by the cart with the turkey legs and chimichangas. Believe it or not, in all our snacking around the park we'd done over the past year, we'd never had a turkey leg. We finally decided to try one, and get a chimi for good measure. Those I already knew I liked.

The turkey leg:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5697.jpg

It doesn't look like much in the picture but they are huge. We all shared it. I wasn't nuts about it, but then I don't like meat on the bone. I've seen people walking around each with their own turkey leg, tearing huge chunks of meat off it like a dog, and that's just not for me.
Ruben and the kids made quick work of it though! LOL

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5704.jpg

I prefer the flaky, fried, yummy, beef and bean filled goodness of a chimi. Mmmmm.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5701.jpg

I've already said how cute they decorated the parks during Halloween, but leave it to Disney to carry the theme all the way down to their napkins! How fun is that?!?!

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5702.jpg

After we finished we stopped in an area right near the Mexican restaurant that was set up for Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.

Lindsey was just not feeling this pic. haha Too much turkey leg perhaps.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5705.jpg

They had two CMs there doing free face/arm painting so the girls decided to get that done. (Ugh! Noelle is growing out her bangs but she will not keep them out of her face. I am always yelling at her about that.....and then I realize I sound just like my mother. "Get your hair out of your face young lady!" Yikes!)

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5707.jpg

Hannah opted to get hers on her face. She said she "wanted to be different" then her sisters.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5710.jpg

The finished product. I think they came out cute. And they were free which makes them even cuter in my eyes. Hey, anything free is good. Anything free at Disney is great and practically unheard of.

During Christmas at the ranch they sell snowman and Christmas tree sugar cookies to decorate and we did those last December. And near the Princess Fantasy Faire they sell castle sugar cookies to decorate and we did those in June. So of course we had to buy the cookies for Halloween too. They offer bats and pumpkins and we opted for the pumpkins. These are not cheap. $6 a cookie. I was happy only the twins were interested. LOL

They have picnic tables where you can sit and decorate your cookie or do some coloring which is what Noelle wanted to do. She loves anything to do with art.

Yes, the pumpkins were really something to see. They had even more, I only snapped a few pics.
The kids had fun making the cookies. The frosting is full of food coloring though and turned everything it touched that color. So they had orange and purple hands and teeth! :rotfl:

The elusive Ruben!!!!

Oh yes, he exists. My sweetie since high school. I don't know if you ever heard how he was the one who surprised me for the April trip and arranged for his parents to watch the kids, then drove me all the way to CA so I could meet up with the ladies for the day, while he went around the park solo. And he even is wearing the Mickey tee I bought him.
Those are examples of what I mean when I say he's a prince for supporting my wacky Disney addiction. :rotfl2:

More cute pics Beth!

Can't wait to hear about the Dumbo drama.

I have a funny Dumbo drama to tell you. My DIL and I were in line for Dumbo, and we were at the part where there was the fence and a shrub hedge just behind it. All of the sudden my 2 year old grandson decided he had to pee, and there was no waiting. He is fairly new to being potty trained. So Sarah and I looked around and thought what are we going to do? We couldn't just hand him to someone over the fence, because of the big shrub. We knew by the time we got out of line, and to the restroom it would probably be too late. In the meantime, we look down at him and he is watering the shrub. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Too late!:rolleyes1 Thank goodness only those right next to us could see what was happening. :sad2:

Ruben was off today so we decided to head down to the Strip and see how they decorated the Bellagio conservatory for Fall. It's so pretty! I took some pics that I will share here a bit later.

I told Ruben that living here surrounded by temps in the upper 80's and a bunch of cactus, going to the Bellagio was the only way we were going to see any Fall color. LOL

Nope, not yet. LOL I know I'm one of the few who hasn't.

Beth... maybe you won't be one of those bitten (;) pun intentional) by the Twilight bug...

All I can say is, be thankful that you got a copy of it AFTER your big trip.

I started it 10 days before... and was up till 11:30 the night before we left, because I HAD to finish the last book before we got on the plane. And I did very little else except throw together my packing... after 6 months of over-obsessive planning, it all fell apart around the NEED to finish the Twilight series!

Beth I have a request.

Do you remember the cute Disney Halloween video for kids, that someone, (Lynn?) posted. I want to find it, and try to get my DIL to get the songs downloaded for our Halloween booth. It was on your old pre trippie thread.

Do you know how to find it, without spending hours going through all of your replies? :rotfl:

Thanks!

After Big Thunder Ranch we made our way over to Fantasyland. The line for Dumbo wasn't that long so the kids and I got in line. Something must have just happened (I overheard someone saying a person fell) because a medic and security were both exiting the ride area.

Anyway, we waited in line, and when it was almost our turn there was a lady (looked to be about mid 30's) who apparently fell while walking to her elephant and soon everyone was running and calling for security and the medic who had just left to come back. I didn't see her fall but when I looked at her, she seemed ok. No bleeding or scrapes were visible.

So we all waited while all sorts of personnel came to see what had happened. Finally they told everyone who was already seated to exit the ride, and had all of us waiting in line exit as well. They ended up bring a wheelchair for the lady and wheeling her over to the carousel where more personnel arrived including more medics with a stretcher. The whole thing seemed really weird since she had no visible injuries. Maybe she was diabetic or something and that's what made her fall. :confused3 Either that or walking to get on Dumbo is much more dangerous then any of us ever knew!

Here is some of what it looked like before the stretcher and everyone arrived:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5734.jpg

I have no clue how much time we wasted all total waiting for a Dumbo ride we never went on. LOL So much for it being a short line. Oh well, hopefully she was ok.

The girls wanted to do the carousel so I let them go on that. The line had opened back up for Dumbo so we ran back over there and were able to ride it twice in a row.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5735.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5739.jpg

From there it was on to the tea cups. Well, not for me and Ruben. Blech! No thanks!!
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5744.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5745.jpg

Alice was up next and that is when I saw my first lime green mickey head EVER! LOL There was a lady in line who had one in her lanyard with a name written on it. She had blondish-brown hair and if I recall correctly a light blue tee. I could only read part of the name but it said Blue-something. She was too far back in the line though for me to get her attention. Oh well.

After Alice I was done with Fantasyland. Too crowded compared to the rest of the park, so we went to the First Aid to refill our water bottles. First time we'd ever done that. Thanks for the tip Callie!

Since this day was our snack day, while we were in that area, we had to grab some more snacks!

From the Coca Cola corner we got a Mickey pretzel with cheese. He's so cute! And a Coke with a splash of cherry in it. Yum.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5751.jpg

A corn dog with apple slices came from the red cart. Also yum!
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5753.jpg

We sat and enjoyed our snacks, then were off to Tomorrowland. I don't know how they did it, but the kids convinced me to try Space Mountain. I used to love that ride growing up. Not so much anymore. My eyes were shut the whole time and the pic at the end came out so terrible!! LOL I simply cannot post it.

Next came Autopia, Buzz, Star Tours, Astro Orbitors. I won't do Star Tours but the kids love it. Gives me a headache.

The few bites of corn dog and pretzel were wearing off and the kids were getting hungry again. (We don't each get our own snack, we share. Cheaper, and allows you to sample more variety of goodies that way.)
So we headed to the Golden Horseshoe for a show and some grub. The kids each got chicken nugget kids meals while Ruben got the chili in a bread bowl.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5772.jpg

I ran over to Riverbelle Terrace and grabbed a turkey sandwich for myself. They just give you the sandwich and you have to add the toppings and condiments. It was good but rather pricey at $13.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5776.jpg

For dessert we had the Dreams cake.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5780.jpg

After that, it was getting late. Disneyland closed early that day at 8, so we snuck in a few more things. The Mark Twain, another ride on Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Pinocchio and ended the day with Mr. Toad.

I thought it was a great day. For being such shortened park hours, we accomplished a lot! I can't think of anything we wanted to do that we weren't able to.

After the park closed we walked back to the HoJo to meet up with my in-laws. They had checked in earlier that day and were going to spend the night so they'd be there in the morning to watch the kids while Ruben and I did some walking in Walt's footsteps. Stay tuned!

They had so many medics and other park personnel there I couldn't keep track. I told Adam when we went on Dumbo that I wanted him to fall on the way to the elephant. He says "OKay mom. I'll make it a good one and fall in the water." :rotfl2: We were kidding of course. He has my warped sense of humor.

I did!!! I'm sorry, I totally forgot to comment on it. It seemed like you were pretty close. And I was reading about all your swag! Good score! :thumbsup2

Yeah, sharing snacks is the way to go. For example, if all the kids want a churro, and I buy 4 churros, I'll be broke! LOL AND they won't even finish them all. So it's a waste.

But if I buy one or two, and we each get a couple bites it satisfies that craving without stuffing ourselves, and saves more room, calories and money to sample something else later on.
It's worked well for us the last few times. :)

(A few times there might be something you really love and want more of. For me it's the Tinkerbell Twist, so I buy two, one for the kids to share and one for me! :rotfl: )

I had mentioned that Ruben and I went to the Bellagio yesterday to see the decorations up in their conservatory and I thought I'd post some for you to see.

This was so cool. They had two trees in the water, but they were actually fountains and while it's hard to tell, there is water falling down from the branches.

I told Ruben that living here surrounded by temps in the upper 80's and a bunch of cactus, going to the Bellagio was the only way we were going to see any Fall color. LOL

You would love it here in Oregon! The colors are bursting out in reds, oranges, and yellows. I'm native Californian and lived in Vegas as well. The only sign of fall we had was the back to school cafeteria menu graphics!
:sad2: LOL on the menu!!! :rotfl:
I LOVE those pics!!!!! Thank you for posting them. So pretty. I'd love to live in OR or WA but alas I cannot afford it. Maybe one day.....

Hi - Those pictures made me so homesick for the east coast; I just moved to San Diego last year. I miss the fall trees! I'm not saying San Diego isn't lovely - but I loved fall, especially when the trees change colors. Looking at your pictures gave me a little "fix"! Thanks...Hi there! :) I know what you mean about missing the Fall trees. There's just something about Fall.

Most of the trees were pretty reds and yellows here....until we had 30+ mph winds the other day. Now it's starting to look like winter. Nooooo, not winter. As much as I loved Fall living in MI, I dreaded what would be next. Snow, snow, and more snow. LOL

Great update, Beth! I can't believe how different your girls look since June! They are so adorable.

I am looking forward to more!popcorn::Thanks! They are growing up so fast.

I actually really like winter. Not quite as much as fall though. We typically don't get a whole lot of snow. We barely got any last year. I have a feeling we're going to get a ton this year though so we'll see.

It's supposed to rain here for Halloween too. Here I sit with 150 small playdough containers, some erasers and poosibly no trick or treaters. Yup playdough party at my house if there is rain.

Rain on halloween is almost as bad as snow on halloween (even though I love snow.) I remember when I was younger, our city post-poned trick or treating for everyone because of all the snow. Everyone trick or treated on November 3rd or something like that. Very weird.

It's supposed to be in the upper 60's here on Friday. That'll be nice since earlier in the week our highs were only in the low 40's with low temps in the 20's...eek!

My in-laws had arrived at the HoJo on Tuesday night, so this morning Ruben and I were able to go and take the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. We have both wanted to do this for many years so we couldn't wait to finally experience it.

We woke up early and got ready, and I got the kids ready before we left. My in-laws planned to take them to McDonalds for breakfast, then let them play in Castaway Cove most of the day.

Our tour started at 9:30 but we checked in around 9:10. One of the first things they have you do is choose lunch from their menu. It's mainly sandwiches. Ham and cheese, turkey, tuna and a fruit and cheese platter. You can choose from chips or fruit with your sandwich, and a beverage. You also get two chocolate chip cookies as a dessert. Then they give you tour tags that you need to wear for the whole tour.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF6243.jpg

Our tour guide, I think her name was Mirna, came out and gave us our headsets so we could hear her talking, and off we went. There were about 13 or so of us in the tour.

Now, I'm not going to say too much about the tour. I don't want to give anything away! I will say I'm glad we did it, because I'd always wanted to. But if you are a true Disney fan, or even spend much time on the boards, you won't really learn much you didn't already know.

They do have snippets of Walt talking that they play which is kind of cool. It's a lot of walking and talking. Or rather listening.
We spent time on Main Street. And we all went on Jungle Cruise. We did the Tiki Room. (Got a Dole Whip! yum!) Went into the theater on Main Street. Basically walked the whole park with the exception of Tomorrowland.

The highlight of the tour for us, and the main reason we wanted to take it was to see inside of Club 33. They take you into the lobby and let you step into the elevator. That's as far as you'll get, lol, but it's still neat to see.

Some pics from Club 33 lobby:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5787.jpg

After we saw the Tiki Room show, we were allowed to stay in while Mirna showed us one of the original Tiki flowers and how they move.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5789.jpg

Since it was just us in there, we were able to take some pics without disturbing anyone.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5790.jpg

The Tiki Room was originally planned as a dinner show, and this station in the middle of the room (where the fountain is) was originally meant to be the bussers station and has cabinets where they were going to store plates, and such.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5793.jpg

After the tour, we had lunch waiting for us back in the tour gardens on Main Street. The food was good.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/October%20Vacation/DSCF5797.jpg

While eating lunch, our tour guide walked around to each table to answer any additional questions and to pass out the Walk in Walt's Footsteps pin.

My overall impressions of this tour are it's a good one. If you have an AP or a Disney Visa you can get a discount which makes it even better. I think your experience will really vary based on your tour guide. Ours was okay. She had to correct herself several times, and pause often to remember what she wanted to say. Also her interaction with the group was on the low side. She was rather quiet.

I'm glad we went. We won't need to go again. Once was enough. It's worth it to see inside Club 33, unless you are a member already. ;)

Up next is more of Day 4.

I'd love to lay my eyes on that flower in the Tiki Room. It's too bad your CM wasn't more animated. If I had that job....... :lovestrucIt's 3 and a half hours long, and there are many facts to remember. I don't fault anyone for having to make some corrections now and then. My issue was more with her lack of animation or interaction. She was just very calm and quiet, but that didn't exactly get us excited.

I don't know. It's hard to explain it. I still enjoyed it. And she wasn't bad by any means. I just think your experience will vary based on your guide.

I was thrilled with the Club 33. So it's ALL GOOD! :rotfl:

Oh, and the flower was cool too. Delicate. She had to wear gloves to handle it. Something about the oils from their hands would mess with the paint. It was neat to see.

Can you imagine Tiki Room as a dinner show?? LOL

I've taken the KTTK tour too and loved it!! Our tour guide there was so good. He'd been working in the parks in some aspect for over 20 years. He was great. Totally into it, and really made it fun.

After we finished the tour, we called my in-laws to see how things were going. They were fine! The kids were having a blast playing in Castaway Cove. They had been playing in there off and on, and were going to play for another hour, then go to McDonalds for ice cream. (So handy having that Mickey D's so close to HoJo!)

They told us to take our time and not to hurry back. We decided to go walking around Downtown Disney since that is not something we can do with the kids. They get bored and annoying when we drag them into the shops. Not sure why. :confused3

First stop was Marceline's for some pumpkin fudge! But......darn it, they were out! Oh, the horror! So we settled for some peanut brittle and a cupcake instead. The cupcake was surprisingly good. I was worried it would be dry, but it wasn't. Dang, now I want another one. I love cupcakes.

From there we kept walking down to check out the pins. We ended buying the Toy Story Mania opening day one, and I picked out a Mickey head in the shape of cherries! The 3 years we lived in MI were spent in a town called Traverse City, and they are known for their cherries, so it was just calling my name.

We were going to take the monorail from there back into Disneyland, and then walk back to HoJo, but we wanted to ride in the new monorail and the CM told me it wasn't running. He said anytime the temp reaches over 85, they have to stop running it because it gets too hot in there. I must have missed this story. Please tell me how they build a new fancy monorail and then fail to include a cooling system?? So dumb.

So we decided to just walk back. On the way past the DL gates, we took shots of these guys.

Ruben met up with the kids and his parents at McDonalds for some ice cream, while I kept going to the hotel. I was tired. It was really hot and that always drains me. I was looking forward to a nice, quick nap but when I walked into the room it was a mess!! Ugh. My MIL isn't the neatest person to say the least. Being the compulsive person that I am, I couldn't leave the room that way so I spent the entire time I had in there alone, cleaning.

Before long, the kids and Ruben came back to the room. We said our good-byes to his parents and gathered our water bottles and backpack to head back to Disneyland for some more fun!

Up next......more fun in the parks and a cute horses butt! lol

So cute! It's all the tree's and moss and extra's that make it look really cute, IMHO. Hard to display, I would think.

Unreal about the Monorail.. that's as bad as building outdoor malls up here in Oregon.. HELLOOOOOOO... it's flippin RAINING.. why on earth would I want to walk from store to store outside?? :confused3 Sure it would work in San Bernadino but this isn't San Bernandino and oh yea, monorail guys... it gets hot in LA.

I hope you were able to get the pumpkin fudge somewhere else.. I know it was on your list!

P.S. I am jealous of chickens and bathrooms. :rolleyes1

I love that hidden Mickey in the Marceline Confections logo.......if I wasn't a chicken & could figure out a way to do it, I would love to turn that into a tatoo.

Loved the Halloween village. I have a little halloween house but nothing so elaborate. Posted a pic of it on my trippie today.:rolleyes1

I think the fall/Halloween decorations at DL are adorable. I can only hope the Christmas ones are as special.

I wouldn't have been able to not clean up the room either.......what is with us?

I love that little village. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to afford that little village. And that is why every year I buy one piece and then go to Michaels after Halloween.:hippie:

I never was able to find the fudge! That's ok. We lived in Traverse City which next to cherries, is known for it's fudge. I've had way too much fudge in those 3 years we were there! LOL And I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin fudge. I'd rather have chocolate with walnuts. I was just going to buy some so I could say we did.

I'd rather have some pumpkin cheesecake! Mmmmmm. Speaking of cheesecake this is my to-go slice Ruben stopped and picked up for my birthday last week. It's the vanilla bean flavor which is my favorite because it's sweeter then just the original, but not as sweet as some of the others. Very smooth and creamy. I didn't want any cake. Just cheesecake. :cloud9:

The hidden mickey is pretty cool, isn't it? :thumbsup2

The Christmas ones are pretty amazing too. You'll love it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't leave the room alone! I even made the beds and picked up everyday. Then I still left a $5 tip each day. I know, I'm nuts.

Hey Lynn, I just wanted to let you know that I read your review of the Halloween tour at DL. Sounds fun! Sorry it was so crowded though. We were lucky, our first three days at DL (Tues, Wed, and Thurs) were just fine! After that, Fri and Sat were a mess!!

But Saturday was the BEST day I've had at DL in a long time. Why, when it was so crowded? Well, you'll have to keep reading.... :rotfl2:

Am I the only one having a hard time staying away from the damn Halloween candy today??? :rotfl:

I'd definitely recommend taking the tour. It's worth it. :thumbsup2

Hope you are all having a good weekend. Well, Halloween has come and gone. It was a good one. We had lots of kids come by trick or treating. Ruben did a great job of decorating the outside. He had fog machines, music, a graveyard, pumpkin patch, etc. Several people took pics and just about everyone said how cool it looked.

I spent all morning putting things from inside and outside back away and organizing the garage. I'm pooped! But it's done, all Halloween is gone and I now have my Thanksgiving stuff out. I don't have much of that though. Seems like it's hard to find nice Thanksgiving items. The stores all skip right to Christmas!

Speaking of which, I had an urge to watch Christmas With the Kranks today for some reason. LOL

Well, have a great weekend everyone. I will try to update asap. :)

We didn't have any halloween decorations. Just some Fall stuff that I plan on leaving up until after Thanksgiving. Later today we're going to Target and Michaels to see if they have halloween decor on sale for next year. We want to get into it more next year.

What kind of Thanksgiving stuff do you have? I rarely see anything Thanksgiving except throw pillows.

I actually put silk leaves on my fireplace mantle with pumpkin gords (three of them, one for each child). I also do put a paper turkey on my front door. I have a full glass door. That is the extent of my Thanksgiving decorations. I would love to hear what Beth does though. Oh and btw Beth do you have any pictures of your yard?

We still don't have a mantel over our fireplace. We need to have a shelf or something made but we haven't gotten around to it yet. I want to get one up before Christmas though.

As for Thanksgiving, it's all indoor stuff, except for a Welcome scarecrow type thing that hangs on my door. I have a display on my table with leaves, a mini hay bale, scarecrow, pumpkins, a turkey. And I have some candle holders and other ceramic things like......what are those called, the things with the fruit falling out of it? Cornicopia or something? LOL I have some of those.

I guess it's all stuff you could find at Michaels. It's more Fall really then Thanksgiving.

Simple things here and there. Nothing like Halloween at all. LOL

Sadly I don't have pics of our yard. Our camera won't do night shots. They either turn out blurry so you can't make out what it is, or you can use the flash so it's not blurry but then it's all whited out. I've never found a camera that does good night shots. Well, not one I could afford!! :rotfl:

We had one side of the driveway as a graveyard. That had the skeletons, and tombstones, the strobe lights and the fog machines. Some rats, giant spiders and spider webbing. It was the scary side. LOL

Then on the side near our doorway, we had a pumpkin patch. About 7 or 8 different pumpkins. Some pumpkins lights and lighted bats hung in the tree. The bushes were all covered in webbing. We had some skeleton in a cage hanging in the tree with a motor that rotates it.

There was a flying skeleton dude that flew from one side of the garage to the other. Ummmm, what else..... Oh, another fog machine on that side. I can't remember what else. Ruben is in charge of the outside. I stay away from that.

We also had music. Songs like Thriller, the X-Files theme, the Halloween theme, etc. Really fun Halloween songs. It was funny to watch some of the adults who looked to be about my age, because when the Thriller song would come on, they'd start to dance. :rotfl:

It was fun. Ruben went to buy another fog machine this morning. And who know what else!! LOL
I want to check and see if I can find some cute costumes left on sale. Now's the time to buy them when you can get them cheap! :thumbsup2

It took my DH 8 years to fix our mantle (was nothing but bricks) and he's a carpenter for a living so I feel your pain. For Christmas I have holly and then I bought gold wire deer with ornaments in them at Joann's. Really cute I might add.

I just thought I'd share that since I know some of you reading along are Twilight fans. :)

You know I am going to try a Tinkerbell twist next time we go. It should be warm and that will be refreshing. I finally figured out how to upload my pictures from my kodak to photobucket so I am thinking about puting my random pictures of northern California in a thread on the other California trips section.

They are good. Sour watermelon and sour apple. Yum. I can't find them in DL though. Only DCA for some reason.

mmm I bought 2 of them on my trip...it reminds me of watermelon jolly rancher
