New to the DIS from Ohio

Going to Disney in Dec for our first Christmas (DEC 7-12 staying at POP)there and I can't wait . :banana: :cool1: :banana: I am going with my wonderful Husband and 5 year old Daughter, and it is a surprise for her . So does anyone have any wonderful things that we shouldn't miss while we are there please let me know. I am always open to newe things that we haven;t seen before.

I grew up in WV, across the river from Marietta, so welcome neightbor.

You didn't say how many times you have been before but if you have been prior to your first Christmas visit I would take the time to visit at least some of the resorts to enjoy the decorations. Be sure to get tickets for the Christmas Party. Since your daughter is only 5 she'll love the parades, fireworks, etc. Make sure that you catch Fantasmic!

Thanks to you all and I am glad to find this place. That is my biggest question I have is should We go to the party or not and the DH is not saying anything at all so that isn't helping me. Not much time to wait and see if we will go . If we decide to wait till we are there can we buy the tickets at Disney?

We live in West Chester so we are about 20 miles south of you. And yes go to the party and do everything possible. Go and get some of the tour guide books to plan your trip. My wife plans everything down to where we are going to eat. But, I never follow any of her plans, I'm a fly by the seat kind of guy when it comes to Disney. I like to jump around if the park we are at is crowded, but definately do as much as possible.

Don't forget to check out the decorations at the Disney resorts!! The Grand Floridian has a giant gingerbread house in the lobby during the holiday season. :santa: Have a great time on your trip!

If she is like my DD4 1/2... and she watches "Playhouse Disney"... make sure you go to the show at DS. It has Mickey and friends, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins. (They are a audience participation puppet type show.)

We went last year (there were different characters then) and the kids LOVED IT!

This was even the adults that went with us favorite thing... because the kids loved it so much (and that was kids with us from ages 8 mo to 7 yrs.)
