Today's the day for mom's test. She seems to be feeling a little better so we're hopeful/


I'm back and need to catch up on what I missed! My mom is finally going to book my graduation trip so after I get my dates we need to do a DIS meet so you can show me your binder and I can start mine!! OK now to catch up....

YOU ARE SO ORGANIZED! I can't believe it. I need to study this binder of yours and all the other things you use to help plan the vacation.

Continental Airlines is ridiculous, but my experiences with United and AirTran have been WAY worse. I'm a Southwest girl but I know they don't have direct flights from Cleveland to Orlando anymore (or if they do they aren't often!).

I hate when people ask dumb questions about Disney. Maybe they just seem dumb b/c I know so much now, but sometimes I think they are joking by how ridiculous the things they ask are.

Well, here is my latest update.......now it is ME that had to go to the doctor. :headache: I have not been feeling well and frankly I thought it was just sciatica or something. Yeah.........no. I've got to go for more tests tomorrow but we're hoping that it is just a virus with the combined symptoms that I have. :sad1: I've already told Joe that I'm GOING to Disney.....even if it's in a casket! Yeah, a bit harsh but I don't care. I AM GOING NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, wish me luck..............

I think we're at like 19 days. Holy crap! I remember when we were at 300 plus! We have also decided that we're booking bounceback (if offered) at Wilderness Lodge for our 10 year anniversary next year. We still really want to do the vow renewal too but it is totally going to depend on our financial situation. If nothing else, we will stay at WL and have a special dinner that night with family and friends since so many people are planning to be there with us. My cousin's daughter is also celebrating her 23rd birthday that same week and it looks like we're going to have quite the crew of family and friends next year. I am sort of excited for the PTR to start. :rolleyes1

We're close to ready now. Window clings are made. Made good use of the printer. :rolleyes1 Packing list is complete. Just need to get a few things from the store like a new toothbrush holder, etc.

Working on my design for the door. I am trying to figure out what I want to make but I have a few ideas. Going to work on that today. I think it will be fun to have something for other resort guests to sign or personalize. I am trying to think of what I can do that I scrapbook once I return.

I saw these super cute cards that people made that have their dining credits on them. Once you use a credit you take a hole punch and punch out what you used. You then have a little handy dandy record of what is left. I have to get a small hole puncher to take but I am thinking of doing this.

Well, it is official. Mom has to have surgery. :sick: We see the surgeon on 8/31 and he will tell us when. :sad2: I feel bad at the possibility that she will miss vacation. I so wish she would have let us take her to the ER a week ago Friday. She may have been recovering by now and able to go. She said that if the surgery is scheduled for after vacation that she is going to ask if she can still go. I just hope that they don't schedule it for vacation week. She said that she wants us to go either way. I am torn on what to do because I want to be here for her operation, even though they said that it is a same day thing and she will be in and out. My hope is that it ends up being after vacation and that she will be with us on our trip.

I'm thinking that even if they hold off until after vacation that they still won't want her to come. She is in pain and if she has an attack while we are gone it will ultimately result in emergency surgery while we are in FLA. I guess we have to wait and see what they tell us though. I just am praying that she has it either before we leave or after we get back.

We have known for some time that we're going back for our 10 year anniversary. The plan has been to renew our vows if we can afford it. With Joe being out of work for the last few months now, I am not sure that we can do exactly what we had planned but we'll see.

Are you feeling any better now? Hope so, but I know how you feel. I had a bad flu in 2004 the week we were due to go on holiday. I dragged myself out of bed to go to see the GP the morning before the flight as we were to drive down to Manchester that day as the flu just wasn't shifting after a week and I was feeling worse. He said it was a chest infection and I said I'm going on holiday tomorrow and I am not cancelling! I got my prescription for antibiotics and dosed myself up. The drive down, the flight and pretty much the first day passed in a blur but I did get better - there was no way I was not going! (Apologies to anyone else on the flight! :blush:).

Hope your mum is OK, just discuss it all with the Drs and see if they think it might be OK to go on holiday. If not, hopefully next year. :hug:

Di, I am feeling better than I was last week. I have not heard from the doctor so I am assuming my blood tests were fine. I have one more appointment before we leave that is 2 days before departure. Let's hope he doesn't tell me I have to stay home but guess what......I'm going anyway! Your flu sounds like it was horrible. :sick:

my dorky door decoration. :wizard:

I used my cricut and put a black marker in it for the lettering. I then used some scrapbooking stuff that I had. Cut out the Mickey icons too and then used a ring to put them together. Didn't want to go nuts in case someone takes it down, etc.

I put it in a scrapbooking sheet protector in case it rains. Figured I would stick the ribbon etc inside the sheet protector if I had to.

So, what do ya think? Too dorky?????

I packed last night. What I could anyways. :rolleyes1 I couldn't stand it a minute longer!!!

Joe went to UPS to send two boxes for me yesterday. I took pictures that I want to post badly but it will spoil the surprise for the receivers :rolleyes1 so I will post them in my TR.

I think we have all of our banking done now. I wanted to get a roll of pennies for the pressed penny machines but mom said that she has a bunch of them. I was hoping that if we get them at the bank that they would be the new, bright, shiny pennies. I may just ask Joe to get some anyway.

Yesterday was the grand luggage argument. It seems that my dear husband thinks that it is appropriate to put extremely expensive camera equipment in the suitcase! :eek::scared1::eek: I nearly lost my mind. :mad: So, that said, I have no clue if we're taking the equipment or not. I am going to try and reconfigure my carry on stuff so that can be a carry on. We are allowed one carry on and a "personal item" so maybe that will pass as the "personal item?" I thought I'd shove my backpack and my laptop in my carry on bag. Crossing fingers that it works out. I still can't believe we have to pay $160 in luggage fees this trip. :sad2: This is the first time that we've not flown Elite or full coach so we didn't have to pay them before......but you know what..............DON'T CARE BECAUSE I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: :woohoo::woohoo:

Last year we got a laminating machine. I cannot believe how much I actually use this thing! It's crazy!:rolleyes:

Today I laminated:

* our dining punch cards - someone on the DISign thread was making dining punch cards to help keep track of meals. I laminated them and I have a hole punch that I am taking with us so that we can keep better track of what we have left.:teacher:

* my itinerary cards - same type as I did last year. 3x5 on a ring, attached to my backpack. Tells me what park we're doing that day, has the ADR's, confirmations, etc. :3dglasses

* flat Matt, flat Shelly and flat someone-else-to-be-named-later-because-it-is-a-surprise! I blew up pictures to aroudn 8 x 10, then laminated them, and then trimmed them. All I have to do is find a stick (thinking paint store) and then figure out how to attach them to the sticks without having to staple through their faces. :rolleyes1

I had previously laminated:

* snack credit list
* CM thank you cards

This helps keep me organized for the trip. :wizard:

I need to make one last run to the store for one thing and that's it.

Jenn is driving down and she was kind enough to bring a case of water for me so that I don't need to order one from Costco and have it delivered.

I promised Joe that I would not drive him nuts about packing. My guess is that he will start around 24 hours before we leave...if that. :rolleyes1
