Hello all!:wave2:
I've been hanging around here for a while, and have finally decided to start my PJ!
I'm Angela, 26, and my DF is Matthew, 25. We live in Pennsylvania, in a small city outside of Pittsburgh. We met 2 1/2 years ago... I met one of my good friends out at a local bar, earlier that day she had been at a wedding, and after the wedding was over a bunch of people headed to the nearest bar... she intruduced me to Matt, who was a friend of her date, and the rest is history...
We are getting married on April 25, 2009, and then we're off to our DISNEYMOON!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/scan00012-1.jpg
We got engaged in December 2007, a week before Christmas, while we were in NYC! DF popped the question on a carriage ride through Central Park! Very sweet! We love NYC! :)
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/ImportedPhotos00006-Copy.jpg
I never really dreamed of being a Disney Bride, however I did look into an Escape Wedding not long after our engagment, and I loved everything about it. I loved that it was small, I loved that it was inexpensive, and I love how it was hastle free. However, DF did not LOVE the idea, but he was going to go along with it anyways. After discussing it with our familys, we found that neither of our familys were too happy with the idea either, sooo I decided to just make everyone happy and do a home wedding, and a Disney Honeymoon! Which looking back now, I know I made the right decision!!:thumbsup2
I have not been to Disney in many, many years... I'm thinking like 1995? When I was little, we lived in Florida, so we frequently visited Disney, and I have sooo many happy memories of being there!! My dad always tells DF to be prepared to ride It's a Small World over and over... he says I used to cry when it was over and we'd have to get right back in line to ride it again. :rotfl: DF has NEVER been there, so I can't wait for him to experience it for the first time, because he doesn't get what all the Disney hype is about... he says it's JUST an amusement park!:scared1: He just has no idea...
Anyways, we're a little over 1/2 way through our engagement, so we've got a lot done already:
-booked church (Catholic Ceremony)
-booked reception site
-ordered cake
-booked photographer (same photographer who did our engagment pics)
-booked limo
-booked DJ
-ordered dress (it's already hanging in my mom's closet)
-ordered bridesmaids dresses
-booked HONEYMOON!:woohoo:
The only MAJOR thing I need to do is book a florist. I've been holding off on that because I couldn't decide if I wanted real or silk flowers, and I think I've totally decided on silk. So hopefully I get that taken care of in the next few weeks!
For our wedding party, we have 6 on each side. My sister is my MOH, and my other bridesmaids include 2 cousins, 2 great friends from highschool, and DF's sister. On the grooms side, his BM is his cousin-in-law. Other groomsmen are my 2 brothers, and 3 of his friends. We also have 2 little ones in the wedding... our flower girl and ring bearer, both my cousins! They're so cute, I'm totally prepared for them to steal the show!
I will go into much more detail later (with lots of pics, of course), so stay tuned! But, it's 1:00 in the morning, and I'm beat... so goodnight! :)

Hey Angela - Great start to your PJ - can't wait to read more! :goodvibes I keep going back and forth between real and silk flowers - are you going to do your own flowers? If you get someone to do them, (silk I mean) will you pass the name along? Thanks!

Thanks! I definately can't do the flowers myself, I'm soo uncreative!:rotfl: There's a craft store in my area called Pat Catans (not sure if it's a national chain or if it's just here in Pittsburgh) and they do really good work so I'm thinking about going there, OR I found this lady on ebay http://www.affordableelegancesilkflorals.com/ ... she has very high seller feedback, and her bouquets look beautiful from the pictures. I've been e-mailing back and forth with her, and I think she quoted me around $300 for ALL my flowers, which is excellent! However, I'm still nervous to order my flowers on the internet, so I may just go through Pat Catans. I'm so indecisive when it comes to flowers! This really has been the hardest thing for me to decide!!!
Can't wait to hear all about your plans.

Thank you, Trudy!:flower3:

Subscribing - I'm happy that more of the home-wedding people are setting up planning journals...maybe it'll encourage me to get one up too!

Ok, so once we were engaged, I could not wait to go dress shopping!!! I basically had an idea of what I wanted, and wouldn't even try on anything else. I wanted a pick-up skirt, something similar to Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. One day I called in work sick so that I could go dress shopping with my mom. We went to David's Bridal first, where I tried on like 5-6 different dresses...
The lady in the pic below is not my mom, is was my dress consultant at David's Bridal

2 of which I REALLY liked...

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/ImportedPhotos00002-1.jpg
Then we went to Alfred Angelo, and I tried on a couple there...

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/ImportedPhotos00015.jpg
One was GREEN:lmao: Do people really buy green wedding dresses??
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/ImportedPhotos00013-1.jpg
So, I went home that night, looked at the pics my mom took over and over again, made a decision, and went back the next day and bought my dress!! I bought it in white, not the gold color that it is shown in.
<PIC REMOVED>
It was as easy as that! I can't wait to wear it!!:dance3:
I also got my veil, tiera, and slip (which I'm dying pink... hopefully this weekend). I don't have pics of the veil or tiera though, they're at my mom's house!
Oh! And so a few days later, I was showing my 3 little cousins a picture of my dress in the David's Bridal catelog, and the one said "Hey, that dress looks like Belle's!"
That was the response I was hoping for...

Angela - Congrats to you! I really enjoy reading the wedding PJ's on the DIS and I'm married w/ kids and a a former florist! Just wondering your decision as to why silk flowers?? I did check out your ebay link's site and they do look very pretty but IMHO there is nothing like real flowers on your wedding day. Not to overwhelm you or confuse things even more...consider having your flowers real; something about the textures, smells and site just adds to the day and if your into feng shui at all, it matters! Best of luck and I will be watching for future updates to your PJ!!

Oh so glad to hit enter and see your dress! So funny I choose the same one for you out of the pics you posted and not even "knowing" you!! How exciting, it is beautiful and you had a confidence that came through in the picture that said this is THE dress! You are really checking off your list quick so you'll have time to relax and enjoy your engagement time!!!!

Ok, I know you're going to think I'm weird for this, but I just have issues with flowers dieing!!:rotfl: Seriously, as I type this I'm sitting in my office at work... the date is 10/20. My birthday was 9/17. My fiance sent me flowers at work on my birthday, and of course, they died... I'd say 4-5 days later they were completely dead. Well, over a month later they're still sitting on my credenza, because I can't bring myself to throw them away. One of the other girls I work with said she was going to come in early one day and throw them away before I got here. I don't know why, I've always been like that! When I lived at home in highschool, I would save all my prom flowers! My senior year, I had 4 very old dead bouquets sitting on a shelf in my bedroom. They smelled! Finally my dad got sick of smelling them, and he went in my room when I wasn't home and threw them away! I cried when I realized they were gone!!!
I've gone back and forth with the real v. silk thing... pretty much since I got engaged in December! Real flowers are so beautiful, and I am terrified of having fake flowers that look FAKE! But I just know I'll have a seperation issue when my wedding flowers are dead 3 days later!:rotfl2: I can't help it! Where as, if I have silk flowers, I can put them in a vase, and keep them forever and ever!

Thanks tnkr mom! My mom was trying to to pursuade me one way or the other when we were dress shopping (unless one looked awful of course, she would definately tell me), but when I told her the following day that was the one I wanted, she was so excited, because it was her favorite too!!
I can't wait to see it in white! I actually haven't even looked at it since I picked it up! It's been in a bag, hanging at my mom's house. I told her to hide it somewhere so I wouldn't go over and look at it all the time... I had a whole year to go, so I didn't want to get sick of it!
It looks beautiful on you.

I agree with you and I still have a rose from Valentines Day stuck in a vase upstairs! But you can have your bouquet preserved - a do it at home kit or some florists also do it. They sells those glass boxes at Michael's/AC Moore Craft places and that will keep the dust off either real or silk flowers

hahahaha oh man, your dress shopping pictures remind me of when I went too - nearly all of my pictures have me making some crazy faces to express what I thought of the dress, heh.
I'm probably doing mostly silk flowers also, since I'm really allergic to real ones - the last thing I need is to be a literally snotty bride on my wedding day!

LOL! I know, I am making a weird face in like every picture!:rotfl: I was embarassed, my mom was snapping pictures all over the place!!
DF is allergic to flowers too, but I don't know how much they would affect them because when I have flowers in the house, it doesn't usually bother him much... that's a good excuse though, maybe I'll use that instead of telling people I get sad throwing away dead flowers!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one keeping dead flowers!
I've never really looked into having them preserved... I've heard of it, but I don't actually know what it means? Do they just like put them in a glass box to hang on the wall? :confused3

Love your pj so far can't wait to read more.
Glad I'm not the only one either, I just yesturday had to throw out all the flowers my DF had given me over the years, I was very sad. That's a little part of the reason I'm going with silk for the wedding.

And for my adorable flower girl (in the same color as mine, of course, and without those weird berry things)...
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/party7.jpg
I know, they're all pretty much exactly the same!! I want a simple bouquet of pink gerbera daisys... except I don't know if I what hot pink and light pink; or hot pink and white; or hot pink, light pink, and white; or if I want some roses or something else mixed in there with it? The one above with the gerbera daisys and roses was stolen from disbride Bouncy Bounce!
Should the bridesmaids bouquets be the same color?
And most of all, do you think this will look ok with silk flowers?? Or should I just go with REAL???

OMG - Your dress is beautiful! :lovestruc You do look like Belle in it!!
And on the note of floral, I think there's nothing wrong with silk, especially where you have attachment issues! lol:rotfl: . I'm El Cheapo Meg, and I'm having a hard time thinking of spending over 1000 for flowers for one hour. And then on top of that, if I want it preserved, I have to dole out another few hundred?! :sad2: I just don't think it's worth it - I would rather spend the money elsewhere in the wedding. But I am going to go with real flowers for the reception - that's my compromise. (Sorry about the soapbox! hehe)
And I think the daisies that you want will look beautiful in silk! I would just go with daisies themselves - they are so big and pretty by themselves in bunches. :thumbsup2
Thanks for the link - I'm going to try and contact the woman to see what she can do for my wedding. :goodvibes

Ya, I definately wouldn't spend $1,000 on flowers... yikes!:scared1: Luckily, getting married in my small town, I doubt that flower prices are anywhere near disney floral prices! But who knows, I haven't looked into it! I've decided to take the day off work this Friday to tackle this flower situation... once I make a decision, I'll be happy with it either way. I just need to stop changing my mind!!!! If I go silk though... everything will be silk. Although I don't have much to buy! My priest at my church told me not to bother buying flowers to decorate the church... my wedding is 2 weeks after Easter, so he said there will be PLENTY of flowers!! So that saves me a good bit there!!:woohoo: And for centerpieces, we're going with candles...
my mom and I found these things on sale at a craft store... $3.00 each!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/1054671920210616M.jpg
Not sure how we'll decorate them yet, but we'll figure it out (As always... suggestions are welcome!!!)
I've also been buying rose petals to sprinkle around the tables at the reception. I've been cutting the Michael's 40% off one item coupon out of the newspaper every Sunday to buy a box of rose petals... they're only $4.99, but if I can get them for less, than that's wonderful! I pass it everyday on my way home from work, so I just swing by and pick them up... soon I'm going to be known there as "Rose Petal Girl"... :rotfl:
Yikes, it's getting late! I get too carried away on here...

Ok, so I'm trying to keep this updated, but since I stated this late, I have to go back more... but I still trying to keep up to date with what's going on now... but first, here is my "inner bride" from the knot (thanks, Larisa!!)
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/std_15942.jpg
The 2 dogs are my beagle, Ellie, and my chihuahua, Oliver!:rotfl:
So maybe a week or so after I bought my wedding dress, I was dying to go shopping for bridesmaid dresses! I had 2 main goals: 1. it had to look good on ALL my bridesmaids, and 2. I wasn't trying to break anybody's bank! So I took my sister/MOH shopping with me, to David's Bridal of course (bridesmaids get a discount if the bride purchases her dress from them). She tried on a few, and there was one we both agreed on...
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/bridesmaiddress.jpg
I did not get it in that color though, I got it in watermelon, which is a bright pink. And it looks gorgeous on everybody... from my size 2 bridesmaid, to my size 18 bridesmaid. Simply gorgeous.
And for today's update...
Invitations are ordered!!:cool1: I ordered them from a lady on ebay, here is her store...
http://stores.ebay.com/Just-Embossed-Stationery_W0QQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247
I've had my eyes on these invites for a while... 100 invites for $220... included with the invites is response card/envelope, and reception card. PLUS, she addresses EVERYTHING! Sunday I went on to look at them and they were gone!! So I e-mailed the lady to see if she was going to relist them, and she said yes... at $400!!! YIKES, ok nevermind then.. so she e-mailed me back and said if I order them and pay for them before Wednesday (tomorrow, when she relists them for $400), she would honor the $220 price! Yay!:yay: So they're ordered! I just need to get my guest list and address together now, I told her I'd have it by December, she said that's plenty time...
Also, me and my mom are going Friday to order my flowers!!!:flower3: I've decided to order them through Pat Catans, that way I can actually meet face to face with a person, and if I hate them, I can have them changed without the hastle of sending them back..
2 more things to cross of my long list of To Dos...

I want to do an inner bride, but the Knot has been down :o( I think yours is too cute! I want one with my goofy dogs. :)
Love the Bridesmaid dress. Watermelon was the color I wanted originally for my wedding with the MOH in Azalea. :thumbsup2
I can't believe you got the invitations for 220 - how awesome is that?! You got a steal - and good for that woman for agreeing to honor the price! It's a rare seller who will do that.
Good luck with your flowers - I can't wait to see them!! :surfweb:

Here's some pics of stuff I've already purchased for the wedding...
First, I must say that I'm NOT having a Disney or Cinderella themed wedding at all, but soon after we got engaged, my aunt bought this guest book and matching pen for me, it's very cute!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00006-3.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00005-2.jpg
And I bought this cake topper... I was looking for something simple, because we're having a colorful cake and I didn't want the cake to look too busy...
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00008-2-1.jpg
(SERIOUSLY! We're NOT having a Disney/Cinderella themed wedding:rotfl:)
This is my cardbox! I LOVE it! My mom and I found it at a craft store! Beautiful!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00009-2.jpg
Table Numbers... we're having around 200 guests... 8 people per table... which is about 25 tables. DF and I are 25 (well, I just turned 26 but I'll pretend I'm still 25...), so we decided to do picture frames with us at every age. So like table 1 will have pics of us when we were 1, table two will have pics of us at 2, and so on....
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00007-2.jpg
In other news... the flower shopping didn't go as well as I had hoped. The floral designer that I met with today told me today that they don't carry gerbera daisys....EVER, and as you know, that's all I want! I'm going to try another place tomorrow that one of my bridesmaids recommended to me (they did her silk bouquet), hopefully that works out better! If not, I may just suck it up and get real! I'd have 6 months to prepare myself for the death of my wedding bouquet.:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 on everything!
PS - Where did you find that inner bride thing on the Knot? I was looking, but couldn't find it! :confused3
Thank you so much!! The inner bride thing was on the home page when I did it, but as Larissa said they must have taken it off!:confused3 Did you ever find it??
:cheer2: Congrats on 6 months to the big day!!! :cheer2:
ps. That is the the most creative idea for table numbers I have ever seen!
(Meg - I never know what websites are ok to post links. But if you google "my inner bride" it comes right up, I can't find it just clicking through the knot anymore, it use to be on the homepage.)
Thank you!!
I hope you find your gerbera daisies!

Yay! So I finally did it! I dyed my slip!!!:cheer2: I went to my mom's house this afternoon and she helped me (actually, she pretty much did the whole thing :rotfl:) Suprisingly, it was very easy, and not nearly as messy as I thought it would be.
Here's a before pic... boring, plain white...

And after 3 boxes of fuschia rit dye

It came out exactly how I wanted it!!! I love it!! The color took evenly, and it's just gorgeous!
I was nervous with how well it would look with the bridesmaids dresses, so I drove down to my cousin's house and got hers and brought it to my mom's to compare, and as you can see...
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/d671_1.jpg
It's almost a perfect match! (The pic is not my cousins dress... same exact dress, but I stole that pic from ebay, haha:rotfl2: )
OH, and while I was digging through my wedding stuff at my mom's house, I snapped a pic of my tiara to show you...

WOW! Your crinnie came out so nice - it's like professional. And you matched it so well! I'm now inspired! Not that I have a crinnie yet, but it's on my to do list. ;)
I did find the inner bride thing :goodvibes . Larisa PM'ed me the link. I wish I looked like how mine came out! I'll put it in my PJ later on. Probably with a picture of David Beckham so people come and look at it! :rotfl:

Thanks! I pretty much just followed the directions on the box! And I added the optional 1 cup of salt. I'm not sure if that helped or not, but I'm so happy it came out so well! I was so nervous!

So I'm sitting here in my office, looking at the snow coming down, wishing I was in Florida right now...
Today is 180 days until my Honeymoon!! I called this morning at 7:00 exactly and made my reservations for CRT and Chef Mickeys! I am so excited!
Ok, so I'll backtrack a little... DF and I will be on our Disneymoon from April 27th until May 3. I thought I'd give us a day between the wedding and the honeymoon to relax, say our good-byes to out of town guests, and spend some quality time with our 2 4-legged children before we leave them with grammy and pappy for a week...
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/ImportedPhotos00003-2.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/ImportedPhotos00004-2.jpg
We are staying at Coronado Springs Resort, and I am soo excited. Like I previously mentioned, I haven't been to Disney World in at least 10 years, and DF has never been there, so we picked this resort based on pictures and reviews only, and I just cannot wait! It just looks so beautiful from the pics I've seen!
We got park hopper passes, without the waterpark option. Although I would love to do the surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon, DF is allergic to chlorine, so we won't be doing much swimming.
I made my ADRs this morning for CRT and Chef Mickey's.
The other 3 places I definately want reservations at are...
Coral Reef - I always thought this place looked cool, ever since Danny tried to propose to Vicki there... FULL HOUSE (Oh, I'd like to be princess for the day too like Michelle did:rotfl: )
California Grill - hopefully our last night in Disney, I want to get reservations during Wishes, seems very romantic! I think it's a sweet way to end the honeymoon!
Sci-Fi - This was DF's only pick. He doesn't give me much input on anything... the answer is always "I don't care, whatever you want". Then I showed him pics of this place online, and he finally gave me an actual answer!
I'm also thinking the last day, maybe a fun character breakfast before we board the plane back to Pittsburgh... maybe 1900 Park Fare? I actually don't care about the place, I just want to check out the Grand Floridian!
I'm also trying to think of a good place for dinner our first day... Evening Magic Hours will be at Hollywood Studios, but I know the first place I'll want to go is Magic Kingdom! So maybe Crystal Palace?
I'm thinking I'd like to fit Ohana in there somewhere too...
I definately want to do Dolphins in Depth... I love any type of animal encounters... I'm a huge animal lover! And dolphins are such beautiful creatures... I'd love to learn more about them, and get to interact with them a little! I know that I can book this today, 180th day, but since my honeymoon is 1/2 April and 1/2 May, I want to wait until May's hours and show schedules come out to make sure I have everything planned out perfectly... hopefully it doesn't book up before then!:scared1:
I also want to go to Cirque Du Soliel! I went to Cirque in Toronto a few years ago, and it was absolutely amazing... I'm sure Disney will be just as good, if not better!:cheer2: Also, the night we go to Cirque, I was thinking we could have dinner at the new T-Rex? It seems like a really cool place!! I know they're not taking ADRs as of now, and I don't want to spend time waiting in line, so we'll see what happens with that.
Oh well... back to work!

Angela - you are as geeky as I am with that Full House reference!!! :lmao: I always look at the bubble in the middle of the tank and remember Jesse and Joey doing their radio show! That was my original reason for wanting to go to the Coral Reef, and trust me, I think it's totally worth it. :thumbsup2 There is a way to get them to make a customized menu and have a diver in the tanks come to the window with a sign like "Congratulations!" with your names on it. How? I totally can't remember :headache: but hopefully a DISBride with a memory bigger than a flea will come by and help me out.
The puppies are so cute BTW!! What are their names? :surfweb:

I swear... I've seen every single episode of Full House at least 5 times! :rotfl2: Of course, the Disney one is my favorite! Oh, I read somewhere that you can get a customized menu and a diver with a sign! I really want that!!! I don't know how you do that either!
I love my dogs! Ellie is the one on the top, she's a beagle! We actually just adopted her... almost 2 months ago! She was a puppy mill dog who lived almost her entire life (about 5 years) in a cage, just having babies... when they were done with her they dropped her off at the pound to be put down... and it wasn't only her they had 50 something dogs!:scared1: She was transferred to 3 different shelters before we found her one www.petfinder.com, and when we went to go meet her DF and I fell in love with her... she is so sweet, and so forgiving... to be able to show such love to humans who treated her so badly is just amazing... Dogs are such wonderful animals. It's so hard though, because breeders will sell the cute little puppies, and people can't resist the cute little puppy face... but they don't think about where that puppy came from, or the poor mommy dog who lives in the cage having litter, after litter, after litter...
Then the little guy on the bottom is my little Oliver! He's also a rescue dog! We've had him for a little over a year. We adopted him from a shelter where came in as a stray, and he was scheduled to be put down... I also found him on www.petfinder.com, I think it was a Sunday? He was to be put down that Monday, so I e-mailed them and asked them to keep him until Wednesday and I would come pick him up (it was a 3 hour drive)... so they did. He's such a little spaz, and we just love him too!
Sorry! I talk to much once I get on the topic of my dogs! I volunteer at an animal shelter by my house, and I see dogs come in in terrible conditions, and I just don't get how people can treat animals so horribly. It's so sad.... Ok, I can go on preaching about this topic for hours...:dogdance: ... back to work...

I think I may have watched all of them maybe 3 times - not as many as you, but enough! I used to love that show. :lovestruc
What awesome stories about your dogs - they are seriously cute:cutie: ! It breaks my heart to hear about animal abuse. I have one black lab (Rory) who is a purebred (last of litter - they were basically giving her away because she wasn't breed standard - who cares?!) , but my other dog Boo is a rescue dog. He's a pitbull boxer mix, who was left in an evicted apartment for at least two weeks with no food and barely any water. He came into the shelter almost dead at 30lbs. It's taken months, but you wouldn't know he's the same dog now. There's a picture of him in my PJ - he's the guilty looking one who almost broke my nose. Rescue dogs rock! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I love to hear other people's rescue stories!!! I hate when people worry about "breed standards" blah blah blah, unless you're going to show them and compete, then what's the difference?? It's so sad. I just don't get people who spends hundreds-thousands of dollars to purchase a dog... I just don't think dogs should have a value on their life... a purebred golden retriever or a teacup yorkie or an english bulldog, or whatever dogs people are willing to spends tons of money on... that doesn't make their dogs any better than mine...
A pit/boxer mix at 30lbs sounds so pitiful. :( Poor little guy! I will have to check out your pics of them!
It's just so different rescuing a dog as opposed to "buying" them off a breeder or pet store. When you have to patiently wait for them to gain your trust because they've been so emotionally damaged, you realize that they're no longer "Just a dog" and they do have feelings too. And most people won't ever know the difference unless they rescue a dog of their own or they spend time in an animal shelter.
Hmm, this has nothing to do with my wedding... my next post will be back on topic...I promise!:thumbsup2

Ok, one small honeymoon update:
We've changed our resort from the Coronado Springs to the Beach Club!!!:yay: AND we added an extra night! I'm loving this new 4 for 3 promotion! Although it STILL ended up costing us an extra $700, but I figured it's still a great deal, and it's our honeymoon so it's ok to splurge! Never again will I be able to justify spending $350 a night for a hotel room!
We also booked our flight! We'll be arriving in Orlando at 9:05 am on the first day!!! So excited, we'll have the WHOLE day to spend at the parks!:woohoo: Although that means that we're leaving PGH at 6:50, and we'll have to be at the airport 2 hours early... which means we'll have to be there by 4:50... and it takes about an hour to get to the airport... umm it's looking like I'll have to be up by 2:30-3:00 a.m.... YIKES:scared1:
Now if Disney would release those freakin May hours so I can finish my honeymoon planning!

I've finally ordered my flowers! After looking in craft stores and online at silk gerbera daisys, I decided that I don't really like the look of the fake ones and decided to not do a whole bouquet of them. So I decided to give the lady I found on ebay a try, and I ordered just a toss bouquet, just to see how it looked and how the color matched the dresses and stuff, and it just came in today, and I'm VERY happy with it!
Here's my toss bouquet, full of bright pink, light pink, and white roses, gerbera daisys, calla lillies, and stephonotis:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos000012.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos000022.jpg

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos000062.jpg
And best of all, the price cannot be beat! She quoted me $368.70 (includes shipping and insurance) for the bridal bouquet, 6 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 toss bouquet, 1 kissing ball for flower girl, 11 boutonnieres, 7 corsages, and 1 low floral arrangement centerpiece for the head table. Awesome!
If you're looking for silk bouquets, definately check out Affordable Elegance!
http://www.affordableelegancesilkflorals.com/
I've already e-mailed her to order the rest of my package! Yayy!:flower3:
Some other updates:
I bought our toasting flutes from Things Remembered! They're just lovely! I ordered the matching knife and server set too, but they were out of them until December. So hopefully next month I'll be able order that.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos000072.jpg
I bought my "something blue" ankle bracelet:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/c3ec_1.jpg
And I ordered everything I need to make these for our favors. Instead of the white tulle, I bought hot pink. And for the ribbon, I got black with pink writing. And little pink roses. And I bought jelly belly champagne bubbles for the candy! I don't want to open the bag though because we're still about 5 months from the wedding, so these won't be made until much closer to the wedding.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/brandy-glass-favor.jpg
And lastly, I'm making treat boxes for the young children who will be coming to the wedding. I bought these boxes from orientaltrading.com
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/3_1194.jpg
and a matching crayon set with a mini coloring book
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/12_2843.jpg
and I also bought some little games, playdohs, and candy and stuff to put inside. Hopefully it's enough to keep all the kids quiet through the first part of the wedding! :rotfl:
That's all for now! Thanks for reading!:goodvibes

In other news... we bought our rings!! Matt and I were going Christmas shopping on Saturday (which I must say we did not buy any gifts) and Whitehall Jewelers at the mall was having a going out of business sale and everything was 60%-70% off! So we went in just to see what was left. I figured everything would be picked over and stuff, but suprisingly they had tons of stuff left! We were looking at wedding bands and ended up getting ours at an excellent price!!!!!!!!!!!! I was trying to take pics of them, but I can't figure out how to do it without a glare. Here's the best one I got of mine
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00012.jpg
I tried to get one of Matt's, but I can't get a decent one so I gave up! Maybe I'll try later.
I also found the cake serving set that matches my toasting flutes!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos000023.jpg
Also, everything came in the mail today to make my favors! I don't want to make them until closer to the wedding because I don't want the candy to sit out and get stale. So I may make a replica favor one night this week with like marbles or something instead of the candy, just to get an idea of what it will look like all together!
Hmm, one more thing... Matt is having a hard time coming up with the pics for our table numbers, so I need a new idea... I don't want to be boring with just numbers, so does anybody have any good ideas for table names? We need 25!

I received all my flowers from Affordable Elegance and I LOVE everything! I don't have any pics of them though, so I'll have to post those later. I also bought crystals to stick in my bouquet and my bridesmaids. Thought it would fancy them up a little!
My invites should be in like today or tomorrow! So excited to see them!
My bridesmaid gifts are bought, but I don't have pics of that either.
I have a wedding filled weekend coming up. Saturday we have a mandatory wedding workshop at my church, and Sunday I have my first dress fitting!! I can't wait to try my dress on with my pink slip!!! Also, I'm hoping to go see Bride Wars!! Looks so cute!
So for the Honeymoon, my 90 day ADR time is coming up very very soon! Here's a list of the places I'm HOPING to get reservations for:
Day 1: Cap'n Jacks
Day 2: Coral Reef
Day 3: Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast-already booked) & Sci-Fi Dine In
Day 4: Chef Mickey's (already booked)
Day 5: Tusker House (breakfast) & O'Hana's (dinner)

YAY Angela!! An Update!! :woohoo:
First off - I'm so happy you decided on the pink shoes - they rock!! I wish I could walk in heels, I would so have a pair!
Your ADRs look good - you have my favorite Coral Reef! The only other one I would suggest is the Rose and Crown in Epcot - I love it!
We have the same Ring Bearer pillow! :thumbsup2
I also :lovestruc the Gisele jewelry. I (finally) decided on Sleeping Beauty - Kristie Kelley's designs are gorgeous!

I'm so glad I went with the pink shoes!! I went this past weekend with my brother's fiance and we were looking at shoes (they're getting married this September... my parents are busy, busy busy!) and the shoes are actually not very comfortable at all. haha. But I needed to get some because I have my dress fitting and they were the cutest ones I could fine, so I'll deal. I'm sure I'll be changing my shoes to something way more comfortable for the reception anyways.
That's so funny we have the same ringbearer pillow!! Ebay?? I swear, I got so much wedding stuff on ebay. I just sit here at work and do my wedding shopping. LOL!
Did you order your Kirstie Kelly jewelry yet??? I got a really good price for mine at www.weddingish.com! All of her jewelry was on sale, and I found a 20% off code online somewhere, so I got the necklace, earrings, and bracelet for slightly over $200!

Yes I got mine on Ebay!! I should just put a thank you to them in the bottom of my program. Thank you Ebay for making the wedding somewhat affordable! :goodvibes You know (with my luck) we probably bid against each other!
No I haven't gotten it yet - I just finally (after 5 months of going back and forth) decided on it. I fell in love with the Sleeping Beauty earrings (pearl teardrop dangles). You got an awesome deal! 200! I'm going to go check them out. Thanks for the link!! :goodvibes

I got antique pink shoes...like an antique colored pink, I had them posted in my pj but df is on her enad I do not want him to see my dress. At first I was going to go with blue however, I saw these and fell in love.
I think it adds a little flair to your wedding you know? Like, it shows personality and I love that! I actually knew someone who had hot green shoes and they rocked! They had so much fun at their wedding and she swares it was the "shoes"!!!!

I think the pink definatley shows personality too! I think all white is just too plain for me. I was afraid to put pic on here too incase DF saw it. I don't think he even knows these disboards even exist, but I always worry that I'll forget to delete it from the browsing history and he'll click and see my pics of everything. But, hopefully he won't!

Good Morning! It is a FREEZING day in Pittsburgh. Brrrrr.
Today is the 100 day mark to the wedding! I'm so freakin excited!!! I can't believe how fast time is flying by!
I have a few small updates:
My Kirstie Kelly jewelry came in yesterday!!! I love it!! It's so beautiful in person! Highly recommend weddingish.com!! The jewelry was in their boxes, inside the shipping box, and when I opened the shipping box, there were rosepetals! I thought that was cute!
My mom bought her MOB dress! I don't have pics of it, but she looks beautiful!
I got my dress for the rehearsal dinner! It may/may not be cold here in April, so I have a little black cardigan sweater that I could wear over it if needed.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/P_2650_1_13258.jpg
I'm thinking I may bring it to Disney too to wear to CG for a fancy night out... possibly Sweatheart Dinner for Two?
My invites were shipped, but they require a signature and DF and I both work during the day!! I don't know what I need to do to get them. If I call, do you think they can deliver them to me at work? Or can I just leave a note asking them to ojust leave them on the porch? I really don't want to have to use a vacation day just to sit home and wait for them!
I'm going to have these cards made for my reception. I found them on The Knot:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/forbio-fullinit_.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/untitled.jpg
Apparently Vista Print will do 250 for free, all you need to do is pay shipping! I haven't really looked into it much, but I definately think it's worth it to get some fun pics from our guests!
We also got our personalized napkins! I tried to get a pic, but it didn't show up well. I ordered them from an ebay seller and got 600 napkins for $70! Not bad!
Tomorrow the countdown starts in double digets!! Yay!:dance3:

Angela - do you realize we have the same rehearsal dinner dress?! Even down to the black shrug! :lmao: I knew you had great taste! :goodvibes
About the invites - are they UPS? You can call them and tell them to hold them at their local office. You just go down and sign for them when you get out of work, or on your lunch hour. It's inconvienient, but it's better than using a whole vacation day to sit around. FedEx must do something similar. Or if you have a family member who is retired, or doesn't work during the day, you can have it re-routed there.
That's a great idea about the photo cards - I'm going to steal it if that's ok :thumbsup2

My dearest friend and bridesmaid (Allison_Wonderland) sent out my shower invites last week!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/showerinvites-1.gif
I'm so exited! My bridesmaids are throwing a princess themed shower! I don't know any of the details, but I'm sure it will be fabulous!!
One question though for you girls who are registered... do you check your registry to see what people bought for you?? I checked mine and someone got a couple gifts off it already and I told Allison and she said I can't do that!!! LOL! That's like asking a little kid to not peek at their Christmas gifts!!
I also got my wedding invitations from FedEx (I had to sign the slip and leave it on the door and they left the box for me) but I forgot to upload the pic from my computer to photobucket before I left for work, so I will post pics soon. They came out very nice! I can't believe I'll be sending those out in about a month!! So crazy!

Thank you!! Ya, I'm very happy with VistaPrint, so far! I actually ordered a set of cards over the weekend, but made the writing 7 pt, which DF says will be wayyy to small to read. With shipping, it cost $15 for them because I used the premium cards instead of the free ones. But then Monday morning I got to work and had an email for free premium cards, so I made new ones with 10 pt font and they cost me only $6 for the shipping! I also ordered address labels to use for our Thank You cards, but I looked at our Thank You cards last night, and the lady who made them already printed our addresses. But the labels were only $3! Awesome! I can't believe all the free stuff they have on there! I will post pics of the stuff I got!

Yay for cheering for the Steelers!!:cheer2: I'm not a football fan at all, in fact, I can't wait for football season to be over because DF and my dad drive me nuts with football crap. :lmao: I didn't even watch this last game, but I'm still rooting for them! They have one with hydrangeas that would perfectly match our theme, so I'll see what I can finagle then. I'll post pictures in my PJ of what I come up with!

Looking good; one month to mail-outs you must be so excited!! I would be on the phone at 7am (I think) when ADR's open so you get your dining wishes, good luck and let us know how you make out!
Oh, I am sooo excited to mail them out!! I will be on the phone at 7:00!! I'll definately let you know how it goes! I'm really bummed that May's hours aren't up yet though. :sad1:

Thanks, Meg! Umm... can you guess where the invites are from??? EBAY, of course! LOL! http://stores.ebay.com/Just-Embossed-Stationery/Home.html
Oh, I'm obsessed with Vista Print now! Once you order something, they send you different things you can get for free! It's awesome! Just be prepared for tons of junk mail. They must sell out your email address in order to make some money to be able to give things away for free. I know there had to be a catch somewhere, but the free stuff is worth the few junk emails!

Nancy, the pics in your signature are sooo cute!!!
I didn't make my ADRs yet. I was using the disney reseration calculator thing when I figured it out and I must have put in the wedding date, instead of the day we arrive at Disney. Soo, 90 days is actually tomorrow. I will be calling first thing tomorrow morning! I'm so excited. I'm PRAYING that they put May's hours up today. I'm going to call Disney this afternoon too, and see if they could give me the hours. Like someone has to know the hours if the reservation system is opening up for that day!!

LOL, Ang I feel like you have waited forever to make these I will be so happy for you once you have them booked. When we booked ours they didn't have the dates up yet so we would just go to EMH after dinner if we weren't in that park so don't worry if they don't post them. Did you get the park hopper? Thanks! I was playing around last night with it, parts kept getting cut off because it was too long so it took a while.

I didn't even really look at last year's May hours. I just tried to make everything early enough so that way if we want to go to EMHs at another park after dinner, we can. I'm hoping they come out soon though, so if there's something I want to change, I can. I can't believe they're waiting this long to have them posted though! Hopefully they'll have them up in the beginning of Feb. It's so hard to plan without having park hours!!!

Matt and I went on Saturday to pick out tuxes for the wedding! We ended up getting them from Men's Warehouse. Here's what we came up with:
All the guys will wear this tux:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/Tux.jpg
DF will will this vest with this tie (not the bowtie)
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/groom.jpg
Groomsmen will wear this tie. The vest will be the same, but black. Matt said the pink vest and tie would be pink overkill. I disagree, but whatever:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/groomsmen.jpg
And my dad and his dad will wear the same thing, in black.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/dad.jpg
We also are renting a suit for the RB instead of a tux. The lady said the only difference is the lapel is not shiny on the suit. And it's 1/2 the price.
They will all look so handsome!! :groom:

Ya, I think the white bow blends in too much too! They had different color waistbands and flowers on the website that I got it from, but I didn't want to get something that didn't match well! The bow at David's Bridal is only like $10 or something like that, so it's worth it to have it match perfectly!! Hopefully it comes in soon! My flower girl dress came in on Saturday! It's so cute! She loves it,and it fits her pretty good! I also went to David's Bridal and got the matching sash/bow, and it looks soooo cute with the dress... much better than the big flower! I'll have to take a pic to post on here!
Hmm, not much else going on in my planning! I'm trying to figure out which night I want to get tickets for Cirque du Soliel! Our second night there, all the parks are closed by 9:00 and we have reservations at Coral Reef at 5:10, so that may work out best!

I can't believe the shower is practically here!! It's on Saturday, and I can't wait!! I've been obsessively checking my registry, and I am getting lots of great gifts!! The thing that I'm most excited for is the Bissol Spot bot Pet Spot Cleaner! We have very light carpeting in our house and 2 dogs... so that will be a very useful gift!!
I ordered Thank You cards for my shower from Vista Print! I copied them off someone on ebay (shh, don't tell them:rotfl: ). Since it's a Disney Princess themed bridal shower, I am sticking with the theme for the Thank You cards!

So I'm in the process of getting all the wedding party gifts together. My bridesmaids gifts have been bought and wrapped for a while now, but I can't share that on here because my bridesmaid Allison_Wonderland reads my PJ. But I'll share everything else!
For my Ringbearer and Flower Girl, I got them Russ Shining Star stuffed animals! They are really cute, and they have a code where you can log into the Star Registry website and pick a star and name it! I thought it was cute! I got my flower girl the white kitty and my ring bearer the monkey.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/RussShiningStarsKitty.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/RussShiningStarsMonkey.jpg
I also got my flower girl the Cinderella Fairytale Wedding doll. It comes with little Gus! It's so cute, she's going to LOVE it!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/DisneyPrincessFairytaleWeddingCinde.jpg
Also, when I was at the World of Disney in NYC in November, I got her the Cinderella's Fairytale Wedding book, and it comes with a little dress up kit, which includes a wedding veil and white gloves.
This is the book:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/CinderellasFairytaleWeddingBook.jpg
And the dress up kit:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/Bookcomeswithhatandgloves.jpg
We haven't bought anything else for our Ring Bearer yet, but I'm thinking a game for his Wii! Any suggestions for a game that is good for a 6 year old boy??
DF ordered his groomsmen gifts, and he picked them out himself. He got them a pocket knife (what is it with guys and KNIVES?) and he pre-ordered them a copy of the Steelers Super Bowl XLIII Champions dvd! We're all from Pittsburgh, and of course everybody is a Steeler Fan, so I'm sure they will like it!
Here's the knife. DF was showing me it when it came in the mail and he was really excited. He was like "Look, the wood is real!!" Umm, gee ya. That's really great!:rotfl:

And the dvd!! Yay Steelers!

For our parents, I think we've agreed on the Forever Yours Storage Box from Things Remembered. It's an album that holds 72 photos. And we'll get it personalized, of course.

We didn't order parent albums through our photograher, but we did order the disc with the copyright. So we'll give it to them empty, and when we get the disc we'll pick out pics to fill it with!
Tonight we're going to meet with our priest for hopefully the last time before the wedding! We're going to finalize the music and reading selections!:thumbsup2
And only 2 days till my shower!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Love everything except the Steelers DVD... heh heh heh.. ;) I'm going to steal the memory box idea - that's perfect for both sets of parents.
What is it with men and sharp pointy objects? DF wants to get a leatherman tool for his BM. :rotfl:
I hope you have a beautiful day for your shower and I can't wait to hear all about it!! :goodvibes

Boo to you for not liking the Steelers! But, while we're on the topic, my dad just emailed me this pic of Oliver from Superbowl Sunday. I thought he looked cute in his little jersey, so I just want to share:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/n1413922115_30257047_7509.jpg
I don't really get the big deal with the knives. I suggested all kinds of different things to DF for him to get for his guys and he thought they were all dumb. He kept saying, "I want to get something they'll actually USE." But he still can't come up with anything they'll really use a pocket knife for. But whatever. He's happy, it's done. Maybe I just don't get it cause I'm a girl. Actually, I didn't even know what a leatherman tool was, but I just googled it. Definately looks like something DF would be into.
I will definately report back on Sunday with lots of pics from the shower!!

I would boo you back you Steelers fan but well.. it is your PJ! :rotfl: Oliver looks adorable! I have to admit my dog Boo has a Patriots jersey, but it's not customized like Olivers is. Too cute! :cutie:
I wish I could understand the fascination. But don't worry I don't get it either. :confused3 Men!

Ok, to be completely honest here... I actually don't even like football and the superbowl was the only game I watched.:rotfl: DF and my dad watched almost every game together at my parents house and I'd either play on the computer or go home and watch movies. And actually, my parents' 2 dogs have jerseys with their names on it, and it's so cute when they're all running around playing in their Steeler shirts! I never got one for Ellie though, she's an old and sick so I try not to torture her too much with clothes.
Oliver looks so cute in his Jersey!
Thanks!! He's getting so fat! I had that jersey on him in August and it was so big on him, and I had a hard time getting it on him for the superbowl! My baby's growing up.:rotfl:

Thank you!!

My bridal shower was yesterday, and it was so much fun!! As you already know, if you've been following my PJ, my bridesmaids planned a Disney Princess shower!!

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/Bridal%20Shower/IMG_2832_0074_074.jpg
I had Matt unplug my cd player at home and I brought it with me so we could listen to the Disney Fairytale Wedding cd, and I purposely left the cd in the player so I wouldn't forget it. Well, Matt took it out and when I got there and my cd player was empty, I called Matt and made him bring it, so here he comes to save the day!

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/Bridal%20Shower/IMG_2869_0041_041.jpg

I was going to just wait until I got to WDW to buy them, but I thought I might want to have them to wear on the plane! I did not get ears for DF though, because I know that he won't ever wear them.
I started getting R.S.V.P's back yesterday!!!:yay: I got like 9 of them! All YES!
I have my makeup trial on Sunday! I'm really excited!! I'm wondering if I should have pictures of stuff that like, or if she'll just know what to do... suggestions anybody?
Tomorrow I am going to DB to have my rehearsal dress fitted, and my mom has her dress fitting! I am going to order my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding too. He's getting married in September!
I just scheduled my hair trial appointment too. That will be Saturday, March 28th! I don't know if I've posted this pic yet, but I'm thinking of something like this:

Thanks! I hope my hair ends up looking somewhat like that! I always took pics of hairstyles that I wanted for proms and stuff, and I never thought it looked the same and I would be disappointed. So I'm using that pic as a "guide".

Ok, so for my makeup trial, I don't really want to tell the makeup artist what to do because I feel she'll know best, but the knottie girls (yes, I'm a knottie too, I lead a double life:rotfl2:) think it's best to have pics. When I had my makeup done for my wedding the artist told me to get MAC false lashes bc they are the best and hold the longest! I couldnt even tell I was wearing them! Not sure if you got yours yet!

Love your hair pics! I didn't bring pictures for my make up trial I just told her how I wanted it and she did it. Who is doing your make up?

So, this weekend my mom had her dress fitted! She looks so pretty!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/ImportedPhotos00000.jpg
I decided I was going to finish off the gift shopping! For my RB, I ended up getting him Super Mario Kart for Wii! He'll love it! I got the FG, RB, and GM gifts wrapped and ready to go!
Then I went online to order the memory box albums for our parents and it's no longer on the website!!! Apparently, sometime in the last week and a half it was discontinued and no longer available. So I frantically called all the Things Remembered in the area and one of the malls around here has 2 left! Woo hoo!
Ok, and then I had my makeup trial this morning, and I feel really bad saying this, but I was so disappointed. :guilty:
It wasn't like horrible or anything, but just totally not what I wanted, and I didn't like it.

It just doesn't look professional to me or something. The colors don't look right, I hate the eyeshadow colors, the lipstick is orangy (this pic is after I wiped it off). My skin looks too shiny, and this was taken 10 minutes after she finished. I'm just not happy with it. I wanted my mom to see it because I wasn't sure if it was just me not being used to it, and she didn't like it either. I know I should have told the makeup artist that I wanted it different, but I felt bad because it's not like I could just say a little more/less eyeshadow or a different lipstick... because I didn't like anything!
So now I don't know what to do. Should I just stick with her and deal and hope I like it the day of the wedding? It's less than 2 months away, everybody's going to be booked by now! Or should I just do my own makeup??

oh crap - tricky situation! my fear would be the shinyness on my face- my face does get shiny quite a bit so its the main thing i dont want to happen.
Do you know what kind of make up you want? And could you do this yourself and have the patience to do it on your wedding day?
I know it must be so hard, because i am like you, i find it so hard to tell someone i dont like it, or its wrong- but you need to look the way you want to look on your day, and you dont want to regret it! Is there a back up make up artist you had in mind?
Perhaps if you are torn, see if anyone else is avaliable and ask for a trial off them and then decide who to go with?
(i really like your eye lashes in those photos- that was done good! and you have a pretty natural face so you should worry to much about make up because your skin looks perfect! -i'd love to have skin like yours!)

The shinyness definately makes me nervous. I always get shiny pretty quickly too, so I definately don't need shiny looking makeup!! I don't know if I really have a look that I'm going for... basically myself, but better! The pics that I posted on Friday of Eva Longria were kind've a guide... natural makeup with dark eyes.
I don't really want to do my own makeup, but I just don't see paying for something that I don't really like, I think I'd rather look the way I look everyday! I don't want to be self-concious about it all day.
Oh, and the lashes were fake... which reminds me, I don't think she even used mascara!!
oh and your mums dress looks really nice, the colour really suits her! great dress choice!
Thanks! It is a good color for her!

Haha, I will definately stock up on oil blotters, hahahahaha! Ya, it definately doesn't look like it was just done professionally. I'm thinking I may just go to the MAC Counter and buy some good makeup and do it myself. I'm trying to find another makeup artist, but I don't think I'll have much luck in such a short time. I feel really bad though, I don't know how to tell the girl that I don't want her to do my makeup anymore! She was really nice.

First, I don't think you should discount finding someone else before trying it out. If you can't, then I think it might be a good choice to either have a second trial or try out several tries at home to try it out yourself. I have heard a lot of girls having good luck going to high end make up counters, getting a makeover done, buying the makeup and then hiring the artist to do it for them, especially with MAC counters. I don't know if this might work for you, but it's a non-traditional route to go that might get you what you wnat.
As for the make up itself, I don't think it looks bad, but it is also clearly not what you wanted. I think there are elements in all the pictures which were similar to what you wanted, but not all.
I think your eyes look nice, but they are definitely not "bold" which I think is what you talked about. You wanted bold eyes (I don't know if the Eva look would work as well for you as on her, but bold is what you want nonetheless) and then the rest of the makeup colors aren't right.
It looks like she might have put the make-up equivalent of pixie dust on you, but rather than making you look good it made you shiny. The lipstick being orangey may not be the lipstick's fault, as I often have lipstick TURN orange on my lips, but that can be prevented by putting a very thin layer of foundation on your outer lips, and then covering that with lip balm. Looking at the picture it's porbably actually a pretty heavy covering lipstick, just in a very light color pinky/white color, sort of like the pinky they put on when you do a french manicure. It looks like it might be natural-like, but the polish itself is pink.
ETA: You posted when I did. MAC is a great brand. And good luck!!

I'm definately going to try to look for someone else, but just being realistic, there probably won't be many available in such short notice. I hope though!!
You are right, I know she wouldn't finish up and I'd magically look as hot as Eva Longoria, but dark eyeliner and mascara are musts for me. I wear dark eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis (obviously not as dramatic as Eva Longoria going to the Oscars) and actually one of the first things I did when I got home was put on my dark eyeliner trying to see if that would "fix" everything. And I still did not like the eyeshadow colors. I think the problem with the eyeshadows that I had was that it was a very cool, brownish/silvery color, and I'm used to wearing pinky bronzy eyeshadow colors.
And in the pics, the lipstick was already wiped off. That's not what it looked like. The second she was out the door, I was wiping it off. It was definately orangy.

i really hope you can find someone! I kind of feel like though that even the MAC stuff and doing it yourself would make you feel better than what that lady did!! I'm sorry the eyeliner didn't help as much as you hoped it would. It was a good try though. She really didn't listen to you at all if you had to put eyeliner on!!! She must have magically expected that the fake eyelashes would make your eyes like Eva's?
I'm so sorry about the orangey lipstick, I guess I didn't see what it looked like when it was on, but I meant I think that a full-coverage good color would probably help the makeup out a lot to get the look you want. For when you're looking for colors and stuff for the next time.
Just trying to be helpful in helping pinpoint what might have been the parts of everything that weren't what you wanted. I've been a bride (pretty recently too) and I know how stressful these unexpected bumps can be! I hope you can get it figured out soon, for your own sanity!!

Aaawww, So sorry your disappointed with the makeup but as previous posters said you DO look natural; and really pretty lashes. But if it is not exactly what you want you should look elsewhere! You have a vision of how you want to look and you are paying your hard earned money to get it - you SHOULD have EXACTLY what you want! Any professional make-up artist would want that for you as well; she was/or will be a bride too! I was a M.A. and did a bunch of weddings and special occasions - too bad I'd have to fly to get to you!
But also consider you are looking strictly at the make-up alone; that day will be a total package. Once you get your gown on, head piece, veil, jewels it will flow together. But get those dark eyes you were wishing for! Good luck it will happen for you!!)

Yay for your wedding and Disney next month! :goodvibes
On the make up note... I agree with everyone above that you do look beautiful in your post. I also understand that it is not what you expected. Even though you look beautiful in the picture, just looking at it from a make up stand point ... I would not have paid someone to do that make up. :confused3 Honest opinion. That is sooooo something you could do yourself or even one of your friends could do I bet. I vote for looking around! Definately speak up and let them know what you want and expect. It is your wedding and you should have what you want. You shouldn't have to cross your fingers and hope for the best with something like make up... you should know you are getting what you want. :snooty: ;) I can't wait to see the finished product! No worries though! You are very beautiful and no matter what you do (even no make up at all) you will look stunning! :cutie:

If you do decide to do it yourself, I have one word for you...
LAYER!!!
Start with light colors and add medium tones, then the darkest. That goes for eyes and face. Also, if you plan to do any black and whites, you will need some color on your lips. Don't be afraid to add depth of color, in photos, you're far away.
Good luck!

Thank you! You're right... the makeup is not worth paying for! And it's not exactly cheap either! I actually just talked to a girl who the same makeup artist did her makeup this past weekend for her wedding and she loved it! She said she did not like her trial because she was trying to be natural. So maybe after I see her wedding pics, if I like it I'll talk to her and try to reschedule.

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n217/akuzmirek/WEDDING/disneyalbum.jpg
(Kinda creepy that you can see the reflection of the man taking the picture):rotfl:
The album holds 300 photos and I figured I could easily fill that up!!
In other news, I'm going to see Disney on Ice this weekend!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: It's Disneyland Adventures!!!!! I'm so freakin excited, I've never been to any Disney on Ice before!! It looks so cute on the commercials!! Has anybody seen it yet?
So here's what I need to do in the following week:
1. Pay off Disney trip
2. Get Tickets for Cirque De Soliel
3. Call to see about maybe booking Sweetheart Dinner for Two (does anybody know if you can use the dining plan with this or do you have to pay oop?)
4. Pre-order Disney Photopass CD (Do I get the cd when I'm in Disney or do I have to wait until I come home to order it?)
Is there anything else I need to do before I get to Disney?? Other than shop for new clothes??:cutie:
I'm so excited, I can't believe it's coming up so soon!!!!!

So I just got off the phone with Disney and OMG I was on hold forever! Must be lots of people calling in today!
CHECK - I booked the Sweetheart Dinner for Two at the California Grill!!:lovestruc
We already had reservations there, and I was planning on using 2 credits from the dining plan, but you do have to pay out of pocket. ($170:eek: Better be worth it!!!)
So anyways, I have 2 dining credits to use up!!!! Any suggestions? Here's what I have booked so far:
4/27/2009 - 5:55 at Boma
4/28/2009 - 5:10 at Coral Reef
4/29/2009 - 8:05 CRT (breakfast), 6:00 Sci Fi Dine In
4/30/2009 - 5:00 Chef Mickeys
5/1/2009 - 6:55 Ohanas
5/2/2009 - 5:55 Le Cellier
5/3/2009 - 7:30 California Grill - Sweetheart Dinner for Two!
5/4/2009 - 7:30 Cape May (breakfast)
We were planning on paying out of pocket for Sci-Fi & Cape May, and CRT is already paid for. Should I just use the credits for Sci-Fi & Cape May, or should I add some breakfasts or lunches somewhere? Maybe Kona??
pinkpixie0920

You should have done Deluxe dining, Can you upgrade you might save money.
I don't think upgrading would save us any money... CRT is already paid for and Cali Grill we can't use the dining plan for. We can use our last two credits for the 2 meals we were planning on paying out of pocket, and then we'll be even, unless I pick something else for our Cali Grill credits, which we were planning on paying at Sci-Fi and Cape May anyways. But, if I keep adding stuff then I'll end up paying out of pocket,
I'm thinking I may just add breakfast at Kona one morning for one credit, and use the other credit at Sci-Fi... and still pay OOP for Capy May on the last day. I don't think I want to plan on a credit for that day just in case we don't have enough time to do it. Depends what time the bus will leave for the airport.
I am going to pull up my spreadsheet tonight and get it figured out... hopefully!

CHECK 2 - I just bought our tickets for Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba!!! Section 104, Row G, Seats 3&4! We're going to go on Tuesday, April 28 because none of the parks have evening extra magic hours so it works out and I won't feel like I'm missing anything! I can't wait for Cirque!
And I figured out the dining situation...
I'm going to use 1 table credit for Sci-Fi and 1 table credit for Cape May, which we already had booked and were planning to pay OOP for. BUT, I also made breakfast reservations at Kona Cafe for May 1st! I have to try the tonga toast that everybody raves about!

Ok, just need to vent here...
Wedding invites were sent out over 2 weeks ago... I sent out 95, and as of today I've only received 32 RSVPs back! The "due date" for the responses isn't until March 31st, but STILL!! It drives me nuts! I can understand a few people trying to decide if they're going to be able to make it or not, but none of my bridesmaids have even responded!!! (Allison_Wonderland... including you!)!! I guess it's not really a big deal, and I'm just being impatient, but note to self: always send RSVP's back ASAP!!!
I am just hoping that I don't have to be hunting people down come March 31st!!
1 month and 15 days till the wedding!!!!!! Can't even believe it!!!:dance3:

From what I've heard, you'll get a big chunk of the RSVPs on the due date and the few days after, for the people who postmark them by that date. Hopefully by April 1st or 2nd they will all be in so you don't have to call anyone!

I have only heard from about 25% of my guests so far, and my due date is April 1st... I think arbolita is right, you will get a bunch of RSVP's right at the due date... and unfortunatly I think I will be playing the hunting people down game as well... we can comiserate together at least!
(Oh and none of my BM's or GM's have RSVP'ed yet eithier, I bet they don't think they have to lolo)

I'm glad to hear it's not just me! Oh, and believe it or not, I think all of our groomsmen have RSVP'd (except my brother)!!! I was shocked!! I thought for sure they'd be the ones I was chasing down... now if we could only get them to order their tuxes....:rotfl:

1. I found a new makeup artist!!!!! Now I just need to nicely fire my first one... any suggestions? I feel really bad, she was really nice, but I was just not happy with her work. Hopefully I like the new one! From the pics on her website, I think her style is definately more what I was looking for!
