I'm sure there's others here like this! I want to know whether or not I got in! I'm going crazy waiting for the letter from Disney. Everyday I check the mail, everyday no letter. Grrr... anyone else waiting to find out if they got in?

Nalla,

The current turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.

as I type this i'm sitting with my boyfriend awaiting his phonecall for his phone interview :)

he couldn't wait any longer for disney to come to school so he's opted for a e-presentation/phone interview now :)

Nalla

4-6??? No! I was so happy that it's been 2 weeks, hoping that it would come like tomorrow. Grrr. I want to know whether or not I'm in. I'm driving myself crazy wondering.

My recruiter told me yesterday I'd hear in about 4-6 weeks :sad1:.

I had my phone interview today and was told I should expect to hear in about 4 weeks

and I wanna know NOW! I think it went really well though. I wish they sent an email instead of snail mail so I could find out immediately even if i was in class (I got an iPod touch and can connect to wifi on campus and check my email)

Email would be better than snail mail. I'm still hoping I'll hear like this week, even though I know it won't happen.

After the interview I was told I would hear in 4 weeks, this morning I got an email saying if I don't hear after 3 to contact them...

Yah they are really back up right now. It took about 5 weeks for my letter to come in the mail and I interviewed on the very first day. Apparently they have an influx of applications this year, more than normal. But just think its tough waiting now but once you get that letter it will all be worth it.

Today marks one month for me since my interview. I was told I would hear something in 2 to 3 weeks. Last week I contacted them and was told it would be 4 to 6 from my interview date. So the new time frame starts now... hopefully I'll find out this weeks.

I just got a letter saying my status is pending. Anyone know if that's good or bad? Anyone else get one?

disneychickforever

Nalla, it means just what it says...pending. Stinks that it isn't a hint, doesn't it.

I'm on 7 weeks, going on 8. I had rehire paperwork, however, which delayed my application.

i think it ususally means that you marked character performer, and they are waiting for your audtition?

Last summer it took 6 weeks for my letter to arrive. It was the worst wait of my life (my first 3 letters took 11 days, over 2 months but I had an audition, and 2.5 weeks).

Not always, my current one is because of rehire paperwork, and I think lots of people will get that letter this time because they are so backed up.

that would be soo cool if they did that! Im waiting too but I have a long way to go before I start checking the mail everyday... I think I will start doing that in the 3rd week just in case. Our mail runs really well so if they mail it today I will get it in 3 days. :lovestruc

Ooh, it really takes this long? Greeeat. My interview's this Saturday and I'm supposed to register for second quarter at my university in about five weeks... if it doesn't come before that, I'm not sure what I should do since I'll obviously not be registering for classes here if I make it into the program. Oh well, I'll figure it out, I guess.

Yeah, it can. On average it usually takes around 3 weeks, but it has been longer for some people this semester.

If you haven't received a letter by the time you're supposed to register, I would sign up for classes anyway (then drop them after the letter comes).

Yeah, that's my plan. I emailed my advisor about the program tonight too, though... mostly to see if I actually get college credit hours for this, but partially because of the registration dilemma.

I got a key to my mailbox today, usually my roommate checks it but I don't want to chance having to wait for her to come home from work after closing to find out if it came...
luckily my new router came today and it's giving me problems (trying to do fancy stuff with it, I want to be able to control my computer from anywhere. being able to check my email on my ipod still doesn't cut it, i want to be able to see my whole desktop) so that's keeping my mind off it... I was hoping I would only have to wait 10 days like whoever else it was that had that short of a wait.

orangekid13
10-30-2008, 01:55 AM
had a late lab so I tried again from my ipod while i was there and it works, it just doesn't allow me to access it that way from inside my router. so now I've got a different lab writeup that's not doing a very good job keeping me away from here

I really don't know why I had such a short wait. Me and my friend who also applied were going to check if I got any bills in the mail, joking that if I got the acceptance letter I would jump in the pool with it. Well it took 10 minutes to open the damned thing and I found it. haha, I didn't jump in the pool, I was just so surprised that It came in so early. I had my interview Wed. Oct. 15, 2008 and got my letter Fri Oct 24. It was crazy! I had chosen the first interview the next day though, at 8 in the morning so i'm sure that had something to do with it I suppose, i'm sure you'll get your letter though.

My two friends got pending letters and they only interviewed two days after me. weird!

orangekid13
10-30-2008, 05:08 PM
I had my presentation on the 16th and couldn't interview until the 19th so hopefully that doesn't change my wait time. I just got home and checked my mail on the way in then saw the mailman pull into my apartments after so I'm gonna go check as soon as I start some food.

edit: no purple envelope today... :( you still hold the record

I had my interview on the 4th and they got my stuff a few days later. I was hoping to wait and post until I got my letter, but it's been over 3 weeks. I want to email someone just to make sure everything is going okay. But I noticed on the email my recruiter sent out it said to wait for 4 weeks. Would it be bad to go ahead and email now? I don't want to jump the gun or give my recruiter a poor impression.

I emailed after 3 weeks because I was told I would know by then. Got a response saying it would be two more weeks. Well that time frame ends tomorrow. Still nothing. I still emailed to see if my application is still pending or if notification has been sent yet.

So I FINALLY got my confirmation email today saying that they have my full application. I did call to verify that they had everything a few days ago and they hadn't but she said I'd be getting my email in the next few days which I did.

So if you have any doubts at all about your application or anything, I'd call them, they are really nice and helpful. I tried emailing, but I wanted a quicker response when I called. Also if your specific recruiter isn't available, they redirect you to another one.

But they said 2 to 4 weeks till I hear from them, so I am just counting down the days.... :)

...oh and praying :)

I just got a letter saying my status is pending. Anyone know if that's good or bad? Anyone else get one?

I got one of those a week ago
and my boyfriend got one too

It said I would know by the 21st. My parents all see it as a good thing....but I still have to wait a while :sad1:

I hope they don't tell me that I have to fill out rehire paperwork in a couple of weeks and then have to wait longer...that would really really stink. I worked for Disney only briefly, because they took ownership of the Disney Store I worked at right before it closed...I literally worked for them for about 10 days...but I still had to fill out an application....and my paychecks came from Disney for the next couple months after that even though we were ran by a liquidation company. I don't know...my interviewer found all my info but didn't say anything about having to do rehire stuff...I hope this doesn't cause problems!

I emailed a week or so ago, still haven't heard anything. Maybe they don't like me? Is there a number I can call to talk to someone?

rachelkempf
11-30-2008, 05:08 PM
They took forever to get back to me... so don't give up hope. I almost had and then I got my letter.

Also if you got your email confirming that they had the application, your specific recruiter's email and phone number should be at the veeeeeery bottom...

Hope this helps!

I'm in the "still waiting" group, too. My interview was 11/7 and she assured me it was only 2-3 weeks again (after being longer earlier in the hiring season). I've emailed (and gotten a read receipt) and left a voicemail, but no response. I'll be calling again tomorrow, just to follow up one more time.

M daughter had a phone interview, then auditioned 2 weeks later. They said 2-3 more weeks. It's been over 3.. she emailed them today and the response was " We have sent a letter regarding your interview status, if you don't receive it in 2 weeks, notify us.... That doesnt sound good to me! Is there any hope that she might still get in?

Call the entertaiment department, and they may tell you over the phone, if she is in. :confused3 I called and found out, and received my letter a week an a half later. I hope that helps.:)

Does the WDW program start the same time the DL one does? We start on the 6th. If so, that's crazy how long some of you have to wait... That barely gives you a week or so to prepare to move out!

There are more than a couple arrival dates for WDW, last I heard there weren't any arrival dates before 1/26 (there were like 4 or 5 before that some for spring, some for spring advantage), and that one might be full. I think they actually added one on 2/11 or somewhere around there

That's not good news for me. :guilty: We are going to be at AKV through 1/30, so I really needed an earlier check-in date to get some money coming in before having to pay rent. Of course, I still have to get my acceptance...:rolleyes1

orangekid13
12-02-2008, 01:18 PM
if 1/26 is full there's also 2/2 before any after that
paying rent is always relative to when you check in so I don't understand what you're saying about the timing there... I think they leave you the whole first weeks paycheck then hit you for rent twice on the second week

I'll be living "off-campus" since I have a family. I was hoping to build up a few weeks reserve before moving to the apartment. I was also hoping not to have my program extend past May.

Aw you shouldn't say that, I know for a fact that they look at this forum and that could be offensive. I'm sure it's a hard job that she has and everyone has their off days. Just remember that the recruiters are busy making dreams come true for all of us lol, you don't wanna get on their bad side pirate:

That's not true, each arrival date has a departure date paired with it, so people showing up on 1/5 leave like the middle of may and my 1/26 arrival means I leave June 5th. The people who get there after me will leave even later

I did just see a post on the facebook group that there are no January dates left...

I'm just annoyed about the recruiter because I can't be sure she's even getting my emails or messages if she never says anything. Just a response of some kind would be helpful, even if it's just an email saying "I'm way busy, I'll talk to you when I get a chance". I'm not sure if she's gotten anything I've sent, which is what is annoying.

That's not nice to say. Several of the recruiters just got back from traveling all over the country (and even internationally) to promote the program.
Give recruiting a call again and keep at asking them what happened with your stuff.

ohhhh i feel your pain big time, and i understand that you're not trying to be rude, because i know how frustrating and stressful it is. the lack of response has possibly cost my family thousands of dollars in late contract housing fees for my university. i've been politely emailing and leaving voicemails for a few days now, and i've gotten no help whatsoever. although i understand that the recruiters have a million people to get back to, it doesn't change the fact that we're stressin a little bit...or a lot : )
