We arrived at Walt Disney World today for a 10 night stay. Three nights in a 1-BR with a Boardwalk view at BWV, followed by 7 nights in a 1-BR at BCV.

The weather is nice - partly cloudy and in the low to mid 80's. The humidity is not bad at all.

The nice thing about this trip is that we have absolutely nothing planned except for dinner reservations. We'll be eating at some of our usual haunts (Yachtsman Steakhouse, Jiko, Flying Fish Cafe, Spoodles, Le Cellier, etc).

We spent most of this afternoon in the lounge at the Yacht club :drinking1 . My wife was excited since they offer gluten-free beer (no wheat or barley).

Tonight, we'll head over to DTD and have dinner at Raglun Road. I'm sure we'll do some shopping there as well.

I have no idea what we're going to do the rest of the trip, except see our guide tomorrow afternoon and take a tour of the BLT models and pickup some instant fast passes.

I guess we'll just take it slow and easy this trip; probably spent some time at Stormalong Bay later this week.

Yep... Have a great time. I think the best vacations are the ones without any predetermined itinerary. Take it as it comes, and be ready to change course as it seems right.

Thanks for the picture Mike - DH and I will be down from the 24th - 30th - and like you, we have nothing planned either....except for two days at universal.

Other than that - we plan on 'winging' it and seeing where/why/what the days bring us !!!

Dinner at Raglan Road was great. Chief Hunter did not flinch at my wife's dietary restrictions, but prepared a great meal for her.

It was strange seeing Pleasure Island with so much shut down.

Beautiful picture! Turf club has gluten free beer too in case your in that area.

Hey Mike, we're over at SSR in the Springs. We are only here until the 25th and like you we have no set plans. Only one dinner ressie at Yachtsman Steakhouse for my birthday. Have fun, and ya, the weather is great.

Yes, the BLT models are at SSR, along with the AKV models. My guide offered to have the DVC van pick us up, which I thought was nice, but we have our car so we declined. We're dropping by there at 1pm today.

They had two guards at the BWV guest lot yesterday (Saturday), so yes, they have restruictions since it's F&W festival.

The valet parking was a zoo! There was a long line to valet park, and a long wait to get your car back. When we returned from dinner at DTD last night, we just self-parked.

We just spent over an hour at the DVC Sales Center with our guide. We saw the BLT models in person and all we can say is "Wow!". The pictures simply do not do it justice. We were blown away by the BLT models!

We already purchased 200 BLT points, but after seeing the models, my DW said "we need to buy more BLT points". She wanted to add-on another 150 on the spot.

Wow, I'm impressed!:goodvibes They are THAT nice?! I'm thinking we're going to skip going to see the models on this visit. I'm confused enough about wondering if I need to buy SSR for THV stays!

Have you decided to buy the additional points?

Mike - I have been reading one live report about crowd levels which has stated that they are out of control.

A few posters said they could not even walk down main street !!!

Any thought or observation of huge crowds ???

We were at Animal Kingdom today and the crowds weren't that bad.

We were in the MK Saturday, early, and the rides were all walk on. By noon the place was packed. Today we didn't get to Epcot til after 1pm and it was crowded but I've seen it worse at Spring Break.

Hi DVC Mike....does the Boardwalk Bakery do gluten free muffins?? I hope so, that would be so great!

We asked, and they said they will bake gluten-free muffins with advance notice. You can't just walk up and buy them, however. They do sell pre-packaged gluten-free brownies.

Hi Mike! So glad you're enjoying your vacation!!:goodvibes I'm hoping to get in to see the BLT rooms on a Sunday during our November trip. My guide told me they are open every Sunday from 5-7 for existing member tours- but I told her I had read here that recently someone from here had tried to get in at that time and was told it was closed. (my guide is in CA) Do you know if the models ARE open on Sundays at 5?

The models should be open to all DVC members daily from 5-7pm. We actually made an appointment with our guide and went over Sunday at 1pm. We spent about an hour talking with our guide, Maribella. We got cookies and soft drinks before, and ice cream after. It brought back memories of our original DVC purchase. She even gave us some instant Fast Passes. I used a few on Toy Story Mania the other day.

Just returned from a F & W weekend, staying at BWV, and I have to say the pics are wonderful. I wish DH would finally retire from teaching, so we wouldn't have to limit our fall stays to his personal days, but I guess I have to remember we're lucky to get to go as often as we do.

We were at the Boardwalk Saturday night. We saw the guy who did tricks on the ladder. He was very good. We did TL/Disney Quest many days and it was not crowded at all.
Mike, your pics are great. Wish I was back there.

Our 1-BR at BWV was clean and everything was in working order. While we were there, Disney was steam cleaning the hallway carpets and re-finishing the wood flooring in the common areas.

Our 1-BR at BCV is smaller in size and, of course, doesn't have as nice a view. It too is clean and everything is in proper working condition.

We like to be at VWL when the weather is cooler (we'll be at VWL in just 43 days!), and we like BWV/BCV when it's warmer. We were at AKV this past March.

Stopped by and talked to Art the Greeter in the Beach Club lobby. He is doing fine.

Last night's dinner at Rose & Crown was so-so. British food is just too bland.

I called WDW Dining this morning and made our reservations for our March 2009 trip. Booked some favorites and a couple new places.

We have dinner at Jiko tonight. I can't wait to see in person how Kidani Village has progressed since we were last there!

Dinner at Jiko was great as always! I had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread followed by the Filet Mignon with Mac & Cheese.

Mike, I too have many dietary restrictions. I have always found the signatures more than happy to accommodate me.

In terms of our dining reviews thus far (all dinners):

Raglun Road: Good!
Flying Fish Cafe: Excellent!
Spoodles: Good
Cape May Cafe: Poor
Le Cellier: Good!
Coral Reef: Good!

Still to come: Rose & Crown, Jiko, and two straight nights at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Thanks for that review! We have not done Raglun Road yet, and last time we didn't have a very good meal at Flying Fish. I'm glad to hear Coral Reef is getting better though! We used to love that place, and then it went downhill. Sorry to hear about Cape May though, since that is one of the places our guests would like to do in January. I've never thought it was very good, so we don't often do it.

Mike, just curious which place you liked staying at best? We own at Beach Club but have never stayed there. We have stayed at Boardwalk and Old Key West. Love both of those and like them for different reasons.

I love this report... We just left the World... stayed AKL Sept 14-19 and BCV 19-20 and we're going back SSR Nov. 25-Dec.1
It may be crazy but I get so Sad when we leave but like you I always have the next trip planned, that's the Blessing of DVC to be able to do that.

We were at the BWV Oct 18-25, room 4118! It was wonderful weather for the most part and we really enjoyed walking to Epcot for the Food and Wine Fest!
