Dining Plan and Beach Club Villas

We are renting a BCV for 8 days in June. Do you have to purchase the dining plan for the entire time we are there. Thanks

You do not have to if you are willing to check out and then check back in mid stay.

Your credits will be good from the time you check in until midnight the day you check out. So if you check out and check back in on day 4 - your credits will expire at midnight on day 4.

Are you renting from Disney or from a DVC member? That could make a difference.

Whether or not you are renting from DVC or on a package, everyone on your reservation has to get the same DDP for the length of the reservation.

Where the difference comes in is that if you are staying on points (your own or someone else's), you don't have to buy a package with tickets to get the dining plan. There is no ticket purchase requirement at all. That makes it easier to split into two reservations and only put the dining plan on one. If you did that with two package reservations, you'd have to get tickets with both packages.

I've never used the dining plan before & I'm still a little confused. If I check in on May 2nd & check out on May 8th, how many days of DP am I paying for?
Is it 6 because I'm there 6 nights or 7 because I'm there 7 days? If it's 6, does it expire on May 7th?

The dining plan goes by the number of nights you stay. You'd receive credits for 6 nights. All credits expire at midnight of the day you check out.
