2 Adults and 3 children ( ages 12, 9, and 7) Would you choose 2 rooms at All Star Sports or 2 rooms at POR. There is only a 100.00 difference total for the 6 nights. Which would you choose and why????

POR-the theming is beautiful and relaxing at the end of the day, you would have two themed pools to choose from-Ole Man Island and Doubloon Lagoon. The landscaping is gorgeous. Best food court on site. Several quiet pools. Bigger rooms.
Need I say more?

With the ages of your children, you could stay in an Alligator Bayou room at POR with a trundle bed to sleep your whole family. Either your 7 or 9 year old would probably fit on the bed, and you could save $100s of dollars by only getting one room. Just something to keep in mind...

Hello ilovedisney2-
We've stayed at Allstars many times, never at POR. Looking from kids point of view. Moderate priced hotel pools have water slides and usually hot tubs, Allstars don't. If it was our kids choice, they would rather just play in the pool the whole vacation. Except for the extra bathroom, why not get one room that sleeps 5.
I love the AllStars but with three kids you may want to think about a larger room at POR.
I think with their ages they may enjoy the AllStars because of the themes but all the resorts have great pool themes. As long as the kids are able to go swimming I do not think it will matter to them where you stay.

For $100 dollars, I would choose POR hands down. The theming, the pool and the food selections are all much better.

I'm pretty sure there is a $15 charge (per night) for the trundle bed at the POR - you may want to factor that in!

I've stayed at both, and would also pick POR, hands down, no doubt about it (can you tell I'm sure?).

I have stayed at the ASMo and enjoyed it. And I am sure kids would really love it.
But --- for the little difference in price I would go with a mod too. (And did make this same decision myself for the May trip. ;) )
Although I am sure everyone would enjoy either.

to iluvdisney2- WHEN ARE YOU GOING? I have the asmu booked for aug/sept for 9 nights and think that if it were only $100more I would switch. I have been checking prices and it's about$400 more for us to upgrade. Go for it!!!

I stayed at POR on my most recent trip for the first time. After spending one day there I said I would never go back to the All Stars. Durring our trip we moved to AKL for our last two nights. After two wonderful days there I still prefer POR!

We are going May 15th for 6 nights. I am using a postcard rate that I got in the mail. I can get the mod. for 84.00 a night and I think the All Star was 70.00, so you see there is not alot of difference. We are going with 2 rooms where ever we stay so we will have the 2 bathrooms! I think after reading the posts we will be at POR! The idea of riding the boat to DTD at night sounds great to me, and since FQ will not be open yet we will not have long to wait for the busses. If anyone knows anything else that I need to know please tell ME! We have never stayed onsite and I am getting soooooo excited. ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT!!!!!!:D :D :D :D

POR!!! I have stayed at both and you will be so glad you chose a moderate over All Stars! The pool and slide are fantastic at POR!!!! And service is much better at the moderates IMHO.
