We are sailing June 15 on Magic. What is it like to be staying on deck 1? What about sea sickness and convenience? Anything special going on on this cruise?:) :)

Deck 1 is probably the <i>best</i> place to be in terms of not feeling motion. It's pretty close to the Center of Gravity, meaning that if the ship rocks, it will pivot around a point near your room... so you won't feel so much motion. As far as convenience... you're near the Midships elevators. You'll probably take the elevators everywhere except perhaps Deck 3. But you won't have any problems with crowds getting on the elevators because there are only a few staterooms on Deck 1 and it's at the "end of the line".

Do you have a stateroom #? 1030 - 1037 is in a somewhat noisy area, but the rest of the staterooms on Deck 1 are quite quiet.

Grumpy.....deck 1 is really a nice location. We stayed there on the 2/23/02 sailing in cabin 1044. It was great looking out the portholes and being so close to the water!! The location was excellent with easy access to the elevators and it was great for coming and going on the shore excursions. When we got back onboard all we had to to was walk down the hall a bit to our cabin. No fighting for elevators!!!!
