Wow!! We hardly ever get snow down here these days, even if it does fall it doesn't settle. My youngest DD is 12 and the only time she has ever been able to play in the snow is when we went to DLRP that Christmas. Maybe this year will be different .......

Yeah, last nights was the really cheap one, needless to say its cheap for a reason.

Very small and grotty.

As we're renting and wont be able to decorate or anything I'm going to have to go for a place thats decorated nicely (and clean!) so I think my original budget was right and I wont be able to go for anything cheaper and be happy..

Totally agree when your renting - you just want to live in something nice with no hassles!

Wish I had thought of that when we bought our house though as it needed a complete redecoration!

Visit your nearest pound shop and a buy a keychain torch thing... Mine came with a little metal prong that heats up just enough to melt the ice in door keyholes.... Very useful!!

I hate it when the water freezes in my washer line thingys.... I had to stand and hold them with gloved hands last year (In the snow!) until they thawed!! :headache:

Morning all. Just a flying visit.
Cap'n, I would challenge this as she is implying that you are unreliable and unprofessional. I would say that this response is churlish at best. Besides, you don't know what she is saying to her line manager about you. If she is saying the same sort of thing, it doesn't create a very positive profile of you, does it? Good luck!

Yes we did, wasn't really feeling up to it to be honest, really bad stomach pains just before (and still now) we left. I have a feeling it could be down to the BP tablets, the registrar upped my dosage from 5mg to 10mg yesterday - I'm not sure whether to take the tablet again tomorrow and see if the same happens or just go back to the 5mg and ring next week when my regular doctor is in. I've been in bed for a couple of hours since we got back and now have a wheat bottle on my tum, had some dry toast to see if that helps calm it down.

I was VERY impressed with him, seriously has made me wonder about things!!:scared1:
I can't express how brilliant TJ Hicks was, she is amazing also! I felt so drained after though because I was crying!:rotfl: (well to be honest I reckon you woulda have to have been a tough cookie not to have felt like that:sad1: )
There was NO way they were making up the stuff as they went along they were defo 'hearing' something!!!!! And the amount of things they both said that only that certain person would know was unbelievable ie TJ knew that a young lass kept a wee note her fiance had left before he died in the zip part of her bag in a little pocket. And Colin knew things that people had said to themselves out loud in their own house when they were talking to their loved ones (he knew WHEN they said it too and what rooms they were in when they were saying it). I came out of there feeling pretty truamatised! Thank goodness no one came to me because there was no way on earth I was going to be able to talk!

Oh and he was wearing a kilt (mmmm lovelyyyyy) and after the show he walked past me and he is smaller than me!!;) He was signing his books:)

I went there hoping it would have been good and it was better than that, I swear I can't believe they could make that up, its just not possible!

Sorry for going on and on about it but there was abit where Colin got upset, you could hear it in his voice, he was talking to a young boy that past over and he wanted to speak to his mum (he was only 10 years old) and his mum was there (with his wee sister and dad) and there was stuff his mum whispered to him while he was in hospital and Colin knew exactly what she said!!

Anyway I better go I've yapped too much:) !

You must have strong hands to carve a butternut squash. I can just about peel one. I admit I have no upper body strength - it's shameful!

That reminds me, we still have our pumpkin to do. Mind you there is only going to be me in tomorrow evening as my three are all going out together for Halloween and we NEVER get any children round here (my three were the only children on the street until just recently and they really aren't 'kids' anymore!) lols

Give it a go! I thought I'd be rubbish as well but just carving the usual 'jack-o-lantern' face is pretty easy. I attempted the 'castle' one this year and I kinda botched it up but it still looks ok from a distance. Then I did the usual face on the other side lol.

I must get a kit for next year. I thought I cld manage with just my small knife (I did the past couple of years but then, I only did normal faces) but was quite tricky this year with the castle...which is why the sides of the roofs are a bit 'straight', without any 'dips' and 'sticky out bits' on them:rotfl:
