Good Friday Morning I am the same as last week which I consider good because it is my first week back at work and I have not made the best food choices.

Please make sure to weigh in today and PM your weight and what team you are on to dare2dream or email to brenda@kbelectric.biz. If using email please also include your DIS screen name.
* When reporting state your weight in pounds ie xxx pounds. You may use 1/10 of pounds if you would like ie xxx.x pounds.

Question of the Day
If you could pick one trainer for a day, would it be Bob, or Jillian? Why?

I would pick Bob I love the way he incorporates yoga into his workouts. I know he could get angry but he is not yelll in your face angry like Jillian.

We all need to send get well wishes out to cra-z-4dizney She hurt her foot this past weekend (this is from her last post)

hey black team...and congrats to all the losers this week!!! I have had a MAJOR setback this week. I actually went out running for the first time in like two years on Sunday, and felt great...well by Sunday night I couldnt even walk on my left foot. I went to the hospital and they thought I may have torn something in my heel and put me on crutches and told me to see a foot dr. Well I haven't been walking all week and was very upset cause DH and I have been walking faithfully every morning for the past like 3 months and now it has been for days and NOTHING...UGH so this morning I woke up with a terrible attitude and went to get on the scale to see how much I gained from not being able to walk and to my surprise I actually lost 4.2lbs this week I couldn't believe it...but my whole attitude changed and now I am really really focused. So anyway, I saw the foot dr tonight and he said I have severe planter faciitis and I may have a fracture. he wrapped my heel really tight and I have to have an ultrasound on monday to see what else is going on...but I will keep on keeping on and just stay determined to lose this weight once and for all!!!!!

I have had plantar faciitis and it is very painful Good luck with ultrsound Keep us informed.

Hope everyon else has a losing day. Don't forget to sent in your COW points for the week. I got 75 points in. I could n't do all the step because my ankle has been bothering since getting back to work. I was all set to do the letter and when I got home last night I completely forgot.

Have a great day everyone.

I am a Bob fan too. Jillian is a little too severe for me.

As for me this week, I am up a lot! :confused3 My trainer says that is normal for the type of work we are doing and not to worry about it. I do worry about it though. He suggested I avoid the scale for the next few weeks and just use a tape measure. If I am up again next week, I may just have to listen to him! He is the expert though, so I have to trust him that I will eventually lose. :scared:

I am down for the week. :goodvibes

As for the QOTD, I don't really watch The Biggest Loser so I couldn't say.

Down 2.8 lbs this week!!!

Donac - glad to see you up and running again. And good job on the COW pts!

Raenstoirm - Listen to your trainer, you are paying him because he knows what he is doing. I am thinking about asking family for cash to get a PT for Christmas instead of stuff. That's something that I would want more that anything right now - it's just not in the budget.

simpilotwife - WTG on the loss!

I only managed 40 COW. I drank all of my water, and I accomplished a to do item - which took most of my week. It was a little challenging for me since I never come in contact with a flight of stairs. I live in a 1 level home, and I don't go out very much - at all. In fact last week, I went to church, the gym daily, to and from DS's school daily, the grocery store twice, and staples once. Yes, sad, that was the extent of me leaving the house. But I don't spend money if I don't go anywhere :thumbsup2

Which trainer would I want? - hmmm - I keep going back and forth. Jillian would have me in tears quickly. But she has a good grasp on the bigger picture, and the importance of your choices. When she told Shellay while they were at the 24 hr fitness " You are 1 choice away from having everything you want, just make it." I really took it to heart. To me it seems like Bob is less intense - both in pushing until you cry and knowing why you would need to push. Hmmm I still don't know.

Back from 2 weeks of DCL/WDW and managed to stay the same! I call that a great accomplishment for me!

I would have to go with Jillian, I need that in your face push to make me move!

Hi Everyone,
I have been away most of this week so I haven't had a chance to post much.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see I made #3 last week.

I didn't lose quite as much this past week but I still managed to lose 1.8 lbs.

:)

I'd have to pick Bob. I couldn't stand Jillian in my face so much.

WI tomorrow. Not thinking I'll pull a big number this week, but any loss will do.

cra-z-4dizney -So sorry about your foot. :flower3: Hope you're on your way to a speedy recovery. Both DH and I had plantar fascitis. It's very painful. Mine resolved on its own, but DH ended up having surgery.

I have not been tracking my COWS. Being on WW, I do some of those just in my everyday habits, but not all. Should really try to take the stairs at work, since I work on the 3rd floor and would get a good workout. Most times, I'm wearing heels, so it's tough trying to climb those stairs. (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

Hi everyone!

Down 1.4 pounds this week--I think my sweater was too heavy at my WW meeting though...lol I ended up with 65 COW points---not as good as last week, but not too bad.

I'd probably pick Bob, but honestly either one works for me!

The other team threads have way more posts!! We need to get to work!

I actually told my trainer on Friday that if I couldn't have him for a trainer then I'd rather do it alone. I'm going to stick to that answer. He would NEVER yell at me like Jillian. He encourages me and gets me to do more than I would without him. But now when he's not around I hear him in the back of my head and manage to 'squeeze two more' as he says.

Have a great week everyone!!!!

I'm guilty, too. Did not post all yesterday. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Lost 1 lb this week. Total of 27 lbs. Seems like I still have a long way to go, but I guess I get closer every week.

Been busy getting things together for our WDW/DCL trip in a few weeks. I'm the type of person who has to start taking the suitcases out weeks ahead of time and start putting things in them as I think about it. For me, the preparation and anticipation are all part of the fun. Too bad when you're actually on vacation, it seems to go by too fast.

Happy losing everybody! We need to keep up the momentum.

Hey Everyone!!

I spent over an hour at the gym this morning. I did 112 floors on the stairstepper in 30 minutes!! Two weeks ago I did 102 floors in 30 min and thought I couldn't possibly do any more... Ha! I like challenging myself...

I spent a few hours this afternoon going over menus and planning what I am going to eat for each meal. I feel prepared to have a great week!! If I don't fall asleep first, I hope to make some oatmeal muffins tonight to have on hand when I'm in a hurry. The recipe sounds great!

I just want to thank all of you for the support and encouragement. This BL challenge really is helping me stay focused.

I was down .8 this week. Better than nothing I guess. I just got back from a weekend of Girl Scout camping with 14 Brownie scouts and 8 moms. It was our 1st trip and I survived - how many points is that worth. LOL!!:rotfl: I'm hoping for a good week, now that my camping planning is done and isn't consuming my exercise time.

heart3pooh - WTG :cheer2: - I hate the stair master. It is the only piece of equipment that I have ever fallen off of. And when I was swimming is HS, once a week we would have to run the bleachers. We called them goat trails. YUCK - I so would have rather been in the water. So you get an even bigger WTG because you will never catch me on the stair master.

leanne - I call that vacation time. And it is so sad. Time just flits away so quickly when you are on vacation.

harleyquinn - hee hee hee. Yes, wear very thin clothing when weighing in. Once when weighing in I needed to pee so badly. I weighed in, and was not happy - I made them reweigh me after a went to the bathroom - I was down another 1/4 lb.

knovak - Girl Scout camping!!!!! Fun Fun Fun. I was such a good Girl Scout. I was one of those girls who made it all the way to Senior, and I got my Gold Award. I hope that you not only survived, but had a great time while you were at it. I am anxiously awaiting my oldest to start Cub Scouts next year. After my time as den mother is over, and they kick us girls out for good, I will probably start a Daisy troop, and hopefully lead them all the way to Seniors.

I had family issues this weekend, so I didn't get the 6 mile run in that I wanted to. But I realize since I have 2 small children, and a sick husband I have to be super flexible - which is hard when you are marathon training. Somehow I will make it all work though.

Have a great week all!!

Good Monday MOrning Sorry I didn't check in yesterday Ds2 lost his keys and we ran down there to give him a key he needed and we took him out to lunch. It is so much easier to talk to him about things face to face. He sounds so happy and settled. He even went to a dance on Sat night. He thanked us for making him bring some dress clothes. Even though he won't use them often he felt he was better dressed than some other people at the dance (It was Homecoming and listed as semi-formal)

Eating yesterday was not great but I am trying to make up for it today. I am eating breakfast here at the house even though they are giving us breakfast at the in-service today. I will pack some 90 calorie granola bars to help me avoid the stuff they have at these meetings.

Congrats on 65 points. I agree that we need to get on here more. ALl the other threads have way more points. We need to keep together to help each other in the next couple of weeks. The middle of this is always a low point.

There is nothing worse than 2 small children and a sick husband. Hope things get better in your house soon.

BY the way they never kick us girls out. I was a den leader for both my sons and when the younger one went into Boy Scouts I became a member of the troop committee. MY youngest left scouts in June and I am stilll on the troop committee until Dec. I have also started to work on the council level. Both my boys are Eagles and I couldn't be prouder of them..

Question of the Day
What diet/exercise websites do you visit?

I like sparkpeople. It is easy to enter your calories and your exercise.

Well I better get off to the inservice. I would rather be teaching.

sorry I've been MIA lately! Hectic life & my family still thinks I do nothing since I'm a SAHM. Garage sale is over, need to list some stuff on CraigsList. Now need to tackle my eating, my exercise and my HOUSE!!!

QOTD - I go to WW, occasionally fitday, DWLZ to look up points & of course DIS for support!!!

With the Garage Sale, I totally forgot to turn in my COW points last week & forgot to weigh. Given what the scale a the gym said this morning, Friday isn't looking too promising. I definitely need to get my STRESS eating under control....lots of DS22 drama here again off & on & just too tired to have control(details in my journal as always).

Off to eat some breakfast & update the exercise challenge! Have a WONDERFUL week all!!

I swear by the WW site, since I use e-tools, but also print a lot of their recipes. Also like Dotties Weight Loss Zone since she has points posted for almost every chain restaurant imaginable. I always check the site before we go out to eat and decide what I'm going to order based on the point value.

DH is out of town this week visiting family in Chicago. It 6:30pm and I'm already in my PJ's. Plan to veg out in front of the TV set and enjoy the evening alone.

Happy losing this week!

QOTD - I sorta use fitday. I do all of my food journaling by hand because it just takes too long to find all of the stuff on fitday. But I love the weight tracking tools. The goal line vs. your actual weightloss is a real motivator for me.

donac - So I checked out sparkpeople today. I'm sure that it is a great site, but I was so overwhelmed by it - that I didn't do more than create a profile. If I actually have some free time, I might explore it more.

Good Tuesday Morning I have a busy morning. I have 2 letters of recommendation to write so I don't have time to chat. I will get back later.

Question of the Day
What are your non-weight goals for getting healthy?

I would like to get back to being consistent about exercise. I would love to do a Disney Triathalon. My girlfriend mentioned it to me and if I mention I want to do it to my dh I think he will just laugh but it sounds like fun. You swim in the lake in front of the MK. Then you ride a bike to AK and back and then you take a 2 mi walk through MK. I know I can't do it for 2009 because I can't train with this tendinitis in my ankle. But I may be able to do it in 2010 for my 55th birthday :scared1: :scared1: (when did I get this old.)

HAve a great day everyone.

We have a new member as of yesterday so look out for crunkyjens

My DH is in the Army and only has weekends off, then I had to bring him out for training yesterday at 3 am! So, sorry I didn't post much over the past few days, I am not down yet,but just started last week....

Donac ... Wish I was a stronger swimmer that triathlon does sound like fun.

QOTD - My my non-weight loss goal is to not develop diabetes, both sides of my family have type 2, so I have genetics against me!

Morning all!! How about you?

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

If our challenge runs for 15 weeks we have completed 1/3 of it so far. We still do not have an ending date yet. You will be notified when an ending date is determined. After 5 weeks I like to take a look at things and see what the numbers say. That will be a separate post later. For now lets look at week 5.

We started the week with 111 participants. This week 10 folks have been removed for not reporting for three weeks and we have 2 newcomers. So we are now at 103 participants. 45 folks of our 103 did not report for the week. That's 43%. I'm not happy with that number. But what can a loving weightkeeper do? We are adults here and know how the challenge works. Please report in EVERY week.

Now for this weeks PSA (public service announcement). I am going out of town. I will have the laptop with me and will have secure internet access the entire time I am gone. I am planning on having some fun beside DIS fun so next weeks announcement may be late. There you have been warned.

Hi Guys,

I heard about this thread though another dis fan. I love the Biggest Loser show and this could be my chance to live my dream and pretend I'm working out with my hottie Bob. I was wondering if it's too late to join? It looks like so much fun. P.S. did you guys see Chesley Lately on monday night Alison was not only on it but she is 6 months pregnant.

Good Wednesday Morning I am late because the computers were down at school when I came in and they are just up.

Question of the Day

HAve a great day.

My reward has come in smaller clothes sizes which has required me to do some shooping. I love clothes and I love to shop, so that's enough for me now. Trying not to spend too much since I'll be losing another 25 lbs or so. However, my old clothes were just way TOO big.

My other reward has come in just feeling better. Before I started on this journey I just felt BLAH and had no energy.

Since I am on WW, you do get rewards for your 10% milestone, and every 5 lbs along the way. Just received my bling for 25 lbs, so that's always fun.

Staying steady and hoping for another loss this week.

Congrats everyone for being the BIGGEST LOSERS!

I have been missing you all this past week and a half or so. I have had computer problems where I could read various posts or websites but I couldn't post anywhere!!! It got to the point where I couldn't send pm's either!

I haven't been doing very well at sticking to a workout routine. I have been ok food wise but it's not enough to lose any weight. I haven't allowed myself to be rewarded for mini-goals I was just looking forward to a new wardrobe. I think that needs to change and maybe I will be more willing to stick with a program....

Congratulations Black Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had something great happen the other day... I recently finished up the sessions with my trainer and can't afford to continue with him :sad1: When I went into the gym Tuesday morning I discovered they are having a Biggest Loser contest beginning Nov 1st!! So I signed up thinking it was perfect timing to keep me focused... Then when my trainer, Andy, came in he appoached me (while I was on the stairstepper) and told me that somebody wanted to donate 15 sessions to someone who would appreciate them and the first person he thought of was ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was speechless!!!!!!!!
Yeah me!!!!! So I start back with him Friday morning!!!

I'm also doing great on the Zone and I feel like all my hard work is coming together!! I hope everybody else is having a great week, too.

QOTD- I also am facing the possibility of Diabetes. I have insulin resistance and have been on glucophage for 8 yrs. My goal is to lose enough weight and have my bloodwork come back so amazingly good that I can stop taking the glucophage. I've lost 31 lbs since January and am looking forward to seeing my doctor's face when I walk in on Nov 21st for my next checkup :cool1:

I have big rewards for keeping on track - We are having family pictures taken in WDW in January, and I HAVE to look better than I do now for them. And the the Princess 1/2 is a big reward for me. Plus I know I will do better if I am more fit. Also my sis is getting married in February, and I am the matron of honor. I really want to look good for those pictures too.

But I am not rewarding mini-goals- In fact I don't have any mini-goals. HMMMM - I guess I need to work on that

Good Thursday Morning Almost the weekend

pixiemagic30 Let's you and me make a pack to get back on track. The shingles have really slowed me down. I thought I was past it but I went back on pain medication yesterday because the alleve was not cutting it. I can do it if you can do it.

leanne2255Congrats on the 25 pounds. That is something to be proud of

heart4pooh Good luck with the new contest. It can also help this one. ALso congrats on being that motivated that the trainer thought of you. That should make you feel great.

TriMom I wish that we had a picture taken when we were at DW this past AUg. There is no picture of me in the park except the group picture of the segway tour:confused3

Question of the Day
What time of day do you exercise?

I have to get it in during the morning. Now that ds2 is out of the house I have been thinking of taking a walk in the afternoon. Now that I am starting to feel better maybe I could do that. I am walking at school everyday. I have cafeteria duty. There are 6 teachers for 450 kids. 4 of the teachers just stand around the edge of the room and two of them even stand there and grade papers. My girlfriend and I walk the room. We usually meet up in the middle and chat for a couple of minutes but we are usually moving. One day I had my pedometer on and I clocked 1000 steps in the 20 minutes.

Have a great day everyone. Don't forget to work on the COW for week 6 and the weigh is tomorrrow.

yesterday's question got me thinking.... I really should have some mini-goals and rewards in place. Thanksgiving is 5 weeks from today. So I have made the following reward schedule for accomplishments in the next 5 weeks. Official weigh in will be Thanksgiving MORNING!! :rotfl2:

16 + pounds - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN - stop thinking about it...
14 -15 lbs - $60 for new clothes and a piece of Birthday Cake (DS2 will be 3 on Nov. 24, and his party is part of Thanksgiving)
12 - 13 lbs - $40 for new clothes and a piece of Birthday Cake
10 -11 lbs - $20 for new clothes and a piece of Birthday Cake
6 - 9 lbs - a piece of Birthday Cake
5 or under - nothing - if I only lose 5 lbs - then I have been eating junk food, and I don't need any Birthday Cake.

I have to work out in the mornings. For reasons out of my understanding - I am incapable of running in the evening. On Tuesday, I had a out of the ordinary day, and didn't get to the gym until 8:30 pm. I was only able to run 1/4 miles at a time. And my current longest strait running is 6 miles - so a 1/4 mile is really short for me. But this morning I ran 4 miles no - problem, and I felt so good, I even walked another 2. Definately a morning workout if at all possible.

Have you stayed at theAKL or have you just signed up for the DVC there? We spent 1 night there thanks to my sister and her husband. It was our anniversary present. We had a Savannah view that was out of this world.

How are we doing on Week 6 COW?

In #4 they want us to make Halloween special for someone. I usually do this since my dh's birthday is Halloween. We will do something special. Ds2 is coming home from college the night before so that we cancelebrate before he goes to the football game.

#5 I am struggling with this dh needs to watch his cholesterol but insists on bringing home chips which at times are hard for me to resist. Luckily he has gotten into the habit of getting the smaller size so they aren't in the house as long as the bigger bags.

I clocked in 8000 steps on Sat running erands and going to a boy scout campfire. I did again yesterday with school and then mowing someone's lawn.

I have done some other stuff on this week's COW. Hope you have also.

What time I exercise depends on the day. I get in a 1.5 mile walk every morning around around 7 (sometimes closer to 8 which makes me late for work!). Mon and Wed I do my 30 minutes of cardio at 4 and then have my trainer at 5. Tuesdays and Thursdays I get to the gym usually around 3 and try to get in a hour of cardio. Friday is my off day and the weekend is whenever and whatever kind of exercise I can fit in! :thumbsup2

donac -- You're on! I know that if I have someone keeping tabs on me I will do much better! ;)

QOTD
When I do get my exercising in, it's usually first thing in the morning and I'm finished by 8am so that I can start classwork with my kiddos. Otherwise if I don't get it in by then, I'm lucky to get it in some other time during the day. I really need to get back with the Wii sports and DDR -- if I really get "into the game" I come out worn out! What a great workout!

pixiemagic30 - Do you homeschool? I thought very seriously about it for my family, but they are wild with me, and are so well behaved in school. While I do think that I can do a great job with teaching them at their pace, I would spend way too much time discipling them. They know how to push mommy's buttons.

Yes we do -- we are in our 7th year! They can be a bit on the wild side for me too, but they have learned over the years that there is a time for fun, a time for school, and a time for chores! ;) The biggest hurdle we had was getting the kiddos to realize that mom wears multiple hats (mom vs. teacher). Once that was learned things are great. It is fun to re-learn things that I have forgotten since grade school.

First thing in the morning. Alarm goes off at 4:30 am, I lay in bed for a few more minutes, then get up and dressed to go to the basement where my treadmill and Bowflex are. I am glad to get it over and done with for the day. I have a TV down there, so catch the early morning news on CNN, or early shopping at QVC, whichever is better. ;)

Tried doing it after work, but I could come up with a million excuses as to why I didn't feel like it.

This is probably the longest I have kept up with daily exercise, almost 5 months now, and I'm to the point that I feel guilty if I don't do it, or try to talk myself out of it.
