I just re-read the first page of your TR.. I feel like such a sleezeball for not getting my SD TR up before you leave! Darn that TWILIGHT!!!

It's too late now to discuss and plot your SD portion with you. DARN IT! I have at least one good tip on a restaraunt there. Darn! It was a restaraunt called, "The Bali Hai" It served my purpose as the "Polynesian rest" that I will never get to eat at WDW. :lmao: But IMHO the view was WAY Better!

Don't feel bad Melissa........you must have missed it. A while back we had to cut off the San Diego portion because of DH's work. He needed to be at work today for at least part of the day so we changed it & are going straight to LA today. The ABD part of the trip starts tomorrow afternoon.

So I have been trying to come up with some way to summarize how I feel about this adventure I am getting ready to go on & this song just kept popping in to my head. Well, I guess you can tell by the fact that I am posting. We are here!!!!!!
We arrived at LAX around 9pm Cali time last night. The flights weren't too bad. We had a very nice driver that picked us up & took us to the Renaissance. We couldn't see alot because it was dark so I didn't get silly & take pictures as we drove along Melrose, Sunset, etc. We did go out walking around abit last night to stretch our legs, but most everything was already closed & we were really tired as by this time it was around 1am to our bodies. We have a very nice room & this morning discovered onced it started to get light that we can see the famous Hollywood sign from our room!!!!!!!!!!!!! We woke up around 6am Cali time & I am going out poking around the hotel to take some pictures & then we will come back & get ready for our day of exploring. We have rented a car from Hertz right here in the hotel. Wish us luck & I hope we don't get lost. I might try & post a picture or two later today if there is time. The Adventures by Disney part of the trip starts around 4pm today with a welcome reception & dinner.

So today was incredible.
Here's a picture of the Disney soda fountain & El Cap taken Tues night.

We started out with breakfast at the Disney soda fountain.
Then we toured the El Capitan theater which was beautiful & amazing & I am so glad that the Disney company decided to restore this beautiful old movie palace.
This picture was in their walk of fame of Roy Disney Jr accepting his Dad's star on the walk of fame.

Next we toured Jimmy Kimmel live studios. No photos there as it was a working studio, but it was cool to see.
Then we headed to Jim Henson studios. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a surprise visit to Walt Disney's barn at Griffith park. I had a misty moment here. It was incredible.

Then it was back to the hotel & we went exploring on our own. We went to the Roosevelt Hotel where Marilyn Monroe lived in one of the bungalows overlooking the pool area.

It has been absolutely incredible.

So obviously, we made it home safe last night. We were exhausted after getting up at 4:15am Cali time for our 7:15am flight out. We made it home around 8pm last night & unpacked. Our first order of business was giving the :dogdance: lots of love & attention. Next order of business was unpacking ugh.....& then we relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Today has been all about laundry & getting some food in the house.

I took 1498 pictures of this vacation.
I promise to get the trip report started tomorrow & to start sifting through all those pictures to find the best ones to tell the story.

The reliving of the adventure will begin for real tomorrow.....................
