I have a feeling that no matter what you will be on a plane in five days. Just remember, you can buy anything you forget. :)
That's totally my feeling as well. As long as I have our meds, anything else is easily replaced.
Five days!! Yahoooooooo!!! I am so excited for you. :thumbsup2
Thanks. I'd like to do a woo hoo, but it'd be more like a whimper right now. Too tired. Must nap. Will HRH oblige me? Doubtful.

Everything about this trip is royal.
There are a lot of choice phrases for what's going on in my family right now, but let's just call it drama of royal proportions.
And leave it at that.
Otherwise this whole chapter would be all about why I'm a black sheep, yadda yadda, blah blah, and I don't have my priorities in order. For footnotes, see the Lapuette thread. I don't have a link in my siggie, but plenty of my readers do. :lmao:
So we're four days out and I'm royally unprepared.
I still need to get to Walmart, pull the larger suitcase from the storage unit, get packed, and somehow manage to appease the family grumblings.
All while getting over this flu / cold / whatever it is now. Scratchy throat, headache, and icky feelings in general.
Such is life. Not always pretty. Far from perfect. But hopefully good.
That's all I can ask for at this point.
The strength and fortitude to have courage at the mast. To carry on, to muddle through, and to make sure that HRH has the best weekend ever. That's what keeps me going right now. My little peanut. The thought of him seeing the lights, the castle, the look of awe.
It's that thought that keeps me sane.
That thought that keeps me moving one foot in front of the other when I'd like nothing more than to curl up in a ball and sleep.
At this point, it'll be a relief to go to work. At least then I'll have an excuse for being so unhelpful. :confused3
Ah well.
In four days I'll be in Disney.
In four days I'll be in Disney.
In four days I can kidnap Jack Sparrow.
Heh heh.

HOW, HOW did I miss this?
I will definitely have to actually pay attention to signature links...But I figured...since you were full on doing a TR...that you weren't going back...like NOW! So soon?!?!
Oh, I am so, so jealous!
I have not read any of it...and it will have to wait till tonight. Although your Nana sounds really nice! :) And your Mom, too! :) And HRH! Of course...
Anyway...more later...after I read this...when I get HOME, of course! :) Because I would not want to fall out laughing or start crying at work now, would I? :)

Let's just call this the before.
As in before DH brought the bigger suitcase for me to pack in.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCI0001-2.jpg
Yup. We had some nice laundry basket non-put-away clothes action going on right there.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCI0002-1.jpg
And that pile. That's just me. See those shoes? Mine. Okay, I think HRH's swimsuit is down in that pile somewhere. Seriously, the man thought I was going to fit everything for two of us in that little carry on.
I'm not high maintenance.
I swear!
It's the dang layers! princess: ;)
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCI0003-1-1.jpg
Never mind this stuff.
Now, I must tell you, I have rearranged all this stuff, and packed about half of what needs to be packed. I've gone about as far as I can go without having HRH's clothes washed, which I'm waiting until Thursday night to do. It's just easier for me to let him go through a full week of outfits and then take fresh clothes out of the dryer to pack.
Now in addition to all of our multitude of layers of clothing accounting for all different kinds of weather, I also had to pack the gifts. Remember the slippers and the bags? Yup. So in addition to my 2 pair of shoes, I've got three pairs of slippers, and HRH's yellow crocs, and his new Hulk crocs.
Oy.
Vey.
I weighed the suitcase just for ha has. It's at about 30 pounds. Already. I'm betting on HRH's stuff weighing in at less than 20 though. :scared:
We keep our toiletries in a separate bag, it just makes it easier to check a toiletry bag than to squeeze it in with the clothes, you know?
Let's just say I'm grateful that HRH's clothes are SO much smaller than mine. :lmao: Because we had a mess of royal proportions going on. Now that I've gotten some packing done I do feel better.
And I'm bringing a little something sentimental, if you will.
I just wasn't feeling any of my hoodies for at night. I want something that's going to keep me nice and toasty warm in case it's hot enough during the day that all I'm wearing is a tank or tee with my jeans, you know?
So I decided to take this.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCI0005-1.jpg
I knew y'all were jonesin' for a headless shot. It's been a while. ;)
That's a fleece of DH's. I believe it reads 05, Walt Disney World. It's big and warm and comfy, and it's my hubby's. I think we purchased it for him on one of our January trips where it was mega, mega cold one night and we had no coats. And now, I'm taking it back.
Back to the motherland.
Where it belongs. Keeping me warm, and reminding me of the man. :goodvibes

It's twofold. One, it's his, and that's nice. Two, I think it's a large or and extra large, so it'll easily fit over my clothes.
Oh, and thirdly (even though it was supposed to be twofold) he doesn't wear fleeces that much, because he's so hot all the time. (ha ha ha) So it still has that very, very soft feeling to the lining. :cloud9:

By the grace of all that is holy, I was able to get my last bit of trip shopping done today. I just have one prescription to refill before Saturday, and that will complete the quest.
The quest wasn't about the prescription though.
It was about the royal haul.
Oh, yes.
The royal haul.
As in the snacks I plan to take on the plane / on the trip, for several reasons. One being that I live in a state of fear of not having enough snacks for HRH. And a variety. Because he wasn't jazzed about everything I brought in September, so I went for some good ole favorites and some new things we've never had. Which may cause some serious regret on my part, but I'm hoping to call it vacation food and leave it at that. We'll see. He's pretty good about that kind of stuff.
Another reason is that I need breakfast food for myself and him while we're down there. Something that can be eaten easily while on the go, so we're not taking away from potential park time or swim time or whatever time. And the final reason is that Mom and Nana run on a different schedule than HRH and I. As in, they just don't eat as much or as often. My mother, much like my husband, likes one big meal per day, and is pretty much content to snack or eat a little something.
TK?
Not so much.
Now, I don't need a TON of food or anything, but I do need to eat / snack on a regular schedule. Or bad things happen to good people, savvy? And the same is true of HRH. Oh yes. When we don't eat on time we are two cranky peas in a pod. And since the majority of our reservations are for dinner that leaves me wondering what we're going to do for lunch. Now with a toddler, you let the chips fall where they may. If he wants a pretzel from Germany, he's getting a pretzel from Germany. Honestly. I'm going to try to get some good food into him, but seriously? It's one weekend. It's vacation. I think I may spoil him. A little. Just a little, okay? I'm just really, really grateful right now, and I'd like to shower him with a little bit of love.
Which is why I got all this.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCI00012-1.jpg
It's for him, and for me, savvy? Well, I could name specifically what's for him. Note the Spongebob DVD up on top there? Oh yeah, baby. This boy LOVES him some Spongebob. As a matter of fact, in addition to his new Hulk slippers, he's also getting new Spongebob jams on this trip. Just a little spoiling, savvy? :rolleyes1 Anyway, he LOVES Spongebob. And he doesn't have any of the DVDs, because I've never been quite ready to go down that road. As in, I know we'll be watching this now all the time. ALL the time. But last night he got so excited over an episode and was so passionate about it, I caved. And I knew when I went to WalMart today, I'd be looking for the one who lives in a pineapple under the sea.
Now I'm not bringing all this stuff in these containers, oh no! I have lots of those nice Ziploc tupperware with the locking lid to distribute different items into. So we'll empty some of the items into those, and decide just how much of each thing we're taking.
Yes, there's a fair bit of junk.
Totally aware.
Totally don't care.
It's vacation.
Spoiling a little. :rolleyes1
The royal haul looks pretty good, eh? And I must give a little shout out to Miss Tinkerebellarella. I would never have known that HRH liked ring pops so much if it weren't for you. ;)

Um, about that.
Yeah.
Didn't put it in the post, but most likely I will be taking the larger suitcase AND the rollaboard.
Yup. And honestly, the rollaboard will be mostly empty, except for food. But I really think we need something empty for souvies, and if I'm going to procure any amount of gingerbread, or other items, we need a safe place to put it dagnabit.

Oh boy.
Two days.
Two days to finish all my packing.
Two days until I go to Disney World.
I'm so focused on everything that needs to get done that I woke up at 530 this morning and couldn't fall back asleep. I'm pretty sure I did this before my last trip, too. It's just that the brain is reeling from all the different things that need to be accomplished before Saturday, when I can finally breathe again!
Speaking of breathing, man are my allergies yucky right now! :lmao:
Anyway, my biggest debate is whether or not to take that rollaboard suitcase or pack a flat duffel and try to squeeze everything into one. I'm just worried about being able to negotiate the luggage when we get to the resort. We'll do curbside check-in for our flights, so that's not an issue, you know? And I guess at the resort, we could use bell services.
Basically I have
Gate-Check - The Stroller
On The Plane - The Rascally Devil (diaper bag of sorts, even though he's not in diapers anymore we still call it this, and it acts as my purse)
Batman Backpack (snacks, extra set of clothes, DVD player)
Nemo Backpack (HRH will carry this with his toys and the Nintendo DS)
Checked Luggage - Small Tolietry Bag
Medium Suitcase
(Possible Carry On Size Suitcase)
So what do you all think? Save myself the headache of trying to squeeze everything in and just go for the extra suitcase. Or just pack the duffel flat and let the chips fall where they may.
I'm open to suggestions. After trying to pack some of the snacks last night, I thought OMG, how am I going to make this all fit. :lmao:
Ah well.
It'll all come together when I wash HRH's clothes tonight.
By the way...

Good evening, my people. ;)
It's been an unbelievably hectic couple of days for a lot of reasons. On the family forefront, may I announce that Grandpa is doing very well, and will be moved to the rehabilitation facility shortly. I'm very, very happy that his health is improving so quickly. :goodvibes
I've been under the weather again, but it's just that my allergies are killing me. I'm trying to take my Allegra regularly like a good girl, but I'm worried I'm going to have very uncomfortable sinus pressure on the plane tomorrow. Ah well. Hopefully that Florida sunshine and Disney magic will more than make up for it.
And just thinking about that...Florida sunshine and Disney magic...is enough to make this tired lady smile.
It's going to be a great weekend.
I'm not allowing anything to stress me. Nothing. At. All.
This was a gift for me, for my birthday, and I'm treating it as such. Therefore, as of now, I am on vacation. And I am relaxed. Everyone else can do what they will, but I'm not rushing, I'm not worrying, and I'm not thinking. Well, unless I have to think. But I'm hoping the extent of my thoughts will be something along the lines of...hmmm.....pool first or Epcot? ;)
I'm seriously debating taking apart my suitcase. I really think I have too many clothes packed. Way too many. Ridiculously too many. Savvy? I need to consolidate.
Right now we've got a total count of 1 medium suitcase, 1 rollaboard suitcase, 1 toiletry bag, 1 backpack to carry-on, and the Rascally Devil. Oh, and HRH has his little backpack too. Instead of sticking the toiletry bag in the rollaboard, which was a great idea (thanks Heidi), I decided to spread out the gifts for everyone so they're not so squished, and put mine and HRH's shoes, his blanket, and the beach towels, in that one. I rarely bring beach towels with us, but I'm really determined to take him swimming. Maybe even more than once, and quite frankly, if the weather is a bit nippy, I want a big ole beach towel to snuggle up in, not the little white towels from the hotel. I'd be freezin'! :lmao:
So, I'm tired.
And HRH never took a nap at my mother's today, so at 630 on the way home, he fell asleep in the car, and is still asleep. This should make for a fun evening if he wakes up. And he's had no bath, so I guess we'll be doing that in the morning.
I mean, we do need to be royally clean.
But we also need our royal beauty sleep. ;)
So that's where I'm at.
Nothing profound.
Nothing crazy.
I'm going.
I'm going to have a good time.
I'm going to take lots of pictures, come back, tell you all about it, and look upon it with nostalgia.
And hey, maybe if I'm lucky, there'll be a bounceback.
You never know....:rolleyes1

;) I've been hissing so much at work (where no higher ups can hear me and only for the benefit of my cubical mate)that on Thanksgiving day my cubicle mate hissed at the table when someone asked her if she wanted cranberry sauce. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Needless to say, she doesn't like cranberry sauce.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome home! You all really know how to make a gal feel loved! :grouphug:
If all goes well, I'll be getting a chapter up sometime this weekend.
Does anyone know if I can just continue that on this thread, or if I need to start a new thread?

You can continue on this thread if you want, and message OhMari to move it to the trip report thread.
