I was reading a few days ago that Linens n' Things have gone bankrupt. Apparently starting today they are liquidating their stock. Does anyone know if it is just the US stores or the Canadian ones also?

This is what I got from another thread.

It appears that no canadian stores are affected. I never shop at that store so it doesn't bother me if it did close down.

Whenever I go in there, there's no one in it! Even if it's not Canadian stores, I don't think they'll be far behind

It is expensive. That is why nobody goes there. I used to work at Home Outfitters and never bought anything there either. Walmart is cheaper. I worked at a high end linen store and the prices were better also. I don't know how they stay in business.

Just saw on the news that the Canadian ones will close, too.

Our local LNT store is closed and their Canadian website is gone.

I am so confused by the whole thing. From what I heard it was just US stores closing (for now), so no great deals/specials at Canadian stores... but then the Canadian website is no more, so who really knows what's happening...
Personally I love that store and while of course it's not as cheap as walmart, it is cheaper than the Bay and department stores like that.

hey had filed for bankruptcy protection and plan to liquidate the canadian stores before christmas is what I had heard on the newscast here. I can't find a link for it though. my mom and sister went just the other day to see if there were any deals on but none yet, they said it looked like they were operating as normal.
edited to add I found this link to the story in the vancouver sun and it seems they are hoping to close all stores by jan 1.
