Sorry about the title but I can't think of anything else. I have never started a PTR this early before nor have I ever completed one before so I am going to attempt to do this.
First of all let me introduce myself. I am a 29 year old male from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and this will be my 4th trip to WDW in the last 4 years. I have made a few trips before. The first two were family trips to the MK in 1985 and 1989. Then in 1998 we made our first week long trip to the World. We stayed in the tree house villas at the Disney Institute (me and my family that is Mum, Dad, and three younger brothers.) In February of 2006 I made my first solo trip to the world and had a great time. After that trip I ended up planning a second trip in the summer of 2006 that included my first cruise 4 nights on the Disney Wonder. 2007 was my second cruise ever and at the time would be my longest I was on the westbound Transatlantic cruise on the Disney Magic, after that I spent about 5 days at Disney World, which was way to short. 2008 saw my first trip to Disneyland when I went over to California to bring the Disney Magic "home" again for a second time. Unfortunately I didn't get to WDW for this trip but there is always 2009 right?

Well, if I'm reading this right - we are arriving the 4th and you are leaving the 5th... We plan to spend Friday afternoon at the pool at Pop and then we'll go to the MNSSHP that night (I'm assuming the schedule won't change for next year, of course.)

I had a hard time booking airfare to someplace other than Orlando... I wasn't sure what was a good deal... I spent 6 weeks checking prices every day and it never changed. I got scared and booked what I thought was a good price and booked it, the next day it went up $110!!! I was so glad I listened to my inner voice!

It may have been Aug 30th, 31st. I think you had returned from the cruise that day and had to see the castle? I think it was the night there was pretty long line for CBR, but about 6 buses arrived at once and cleared us right out...lol

I think that may have been the first of sept. If it was the day I got of the cruise then I got drowned by a rainstorm in DAK, got changed at the hotel room before heading to EPCOT for dinner at Le Celliar, after that I walked out the international gateway and headed to the yacht and beach club to get a bus to the MK so I could catch a showing of spectromagic as that woud be the only time it was showing well I was there.

Nice bag! I think I've decided not to go with D23, (Don't I sound so sure?) it's just so much to ship here to Canada, same with buying from Disney.com. It's one of my pet peeves that they consider Canada international! There should not be that much added on to ship to Canada. Glad you ordered what you want though!

The shaping cost to Canada is mainly for the gift and not the magazines themselves. Also when I added the bag to my shopping bag the shipping cost did not increase at all.

Its been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said Im angry.
Five days since you laughed at me
Saying get that together come back and see me.
Three days since the living room
I realized its all my fault, but couldnt tell you
Yesterday youd forgiven me
But itll still be two days till I say Im sorry
Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
Youll think youre looking at aquaman
I summon fish to the dish, although I like the chalet swiss
I like the sushi cause its never touched a frying pan
Hot like wasabe when I bust rhymes
Big like leann rimes
Because Im all about value
Bert kaempferts got the mad hits
You try to match wits
You try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
Id like a stinkin achin shake
I like vanilla, its the finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, cause then youll know
The vertigo is gonna grow
Cause its so dangerous, youll have to sign a waiver
How can I help it if I think youre funny when youre mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
Im the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Cant understand what I mean?
Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt
Its been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air and said youre crazy
Five days since you tackled me
Ive still got the rug burns on both my knees
Its been three days since the afternoon
You realized its not my fault not a moment too soon
Yesterday youd forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait till you say youre sorry
Chickity china the chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin
Watchin x-files with no lights on, were dans la maison
I hope the smoking mans in this one
Like harrison ford Im getting frantic
Like sting Im tantric
Like snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like kurasawa I make mad films
Okay I dont make films
But if I did theyd have a samurai
Gonna get a set of better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs just so my
Irons arent always flying off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with sailor moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing
How can I help it if I think youre funny when youre mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
Im the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Cant understand what I mean? you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt
Its been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides and said Im sorry
Five days since I laughed at you
And said you just did just what I thought you were gonna do
Three days since the living room
We realized were both to blame, but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause itll still be two days till we say were sorry
Itll still be two days till we say were sorry
Itll still be two days till we say were sorry

Then after about a layover to collect my bag and recheck it, clear US customs it's back on to another plane to LAX this time. Money (or lackthereof) really gets in the way of having fun, doesn't it? I'm a little concerned about my own trips, but I figure the first is not for me, I'm taking my OLDER sister for her first flight EVER to go shopping for 2 days. I will not spend much, and then August is my trip!
At least you're still going on one cruise and going to WDW and got to go to DL too! :dance3:
actually I drooped both cruises, however I did apply the money that I paid to Disney for them to a 5 day cruise on the Disney Wonder in 2010.

Oops! Sorry. Guess I didn't quite read properly.... And me a teacher at that! :lmao: At least you now have a deposit made for your 2010 cruise! I keep telling myself that this will be my last trip for a while, I need to save my money/pay off debts and try to buy a home. But Disney is so much more fun! ;) Who knows what will happen.

OK so my trip began with me getting up at 4 am on the 29th of April. I finished my packing with the last minute items that I still needed for that day, like my razor. The last thing I packed was my laptop. My Dad drove me to the airport on his way to the airport. After checking in for my flight to Calgary and clearing airport security I was bound for the west coast. http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/eastyorkdisneyfan/Westfest09/DisneylandDay1001.jpg

Once in Calgary I had to walk through the terminal and pick up my bag before preceding though US customs. I had a little bit of a wait at the baggage carousel, but was soon on my way. After clearing US customs I rechecked my bag for my flight to LA. The whether in Calgary was not very good for what I wearing that day but I didn't care as I was headed to Disneyland. Some pictures of my plane and the snowy peaks of the Rockies. http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/eastyorkdisneyfan/Westfest09/DisneylandDay1002.jpg

Eventually I end up flying over LA, when I arrived at LAX i headed to baggage claim to pick up my bag and then headed out to get the Disneyland Express bus. After what seamed like forever I finally made it to the Disneyland hotel. When I checked in my room wasn't ready, plus I was running a little late for a lunch reservation.

My first stop was to drop off my bags with bell services which is outside of the hotel. Then I headed out the back door of the hotel as that is the most direct route to the Disney parks from the Disneyland hotel. On my way I took a couple of pictures. http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/eastyorkdisneyfan/Westfest09/DisneylandDay1005-1.jpg

Then I proceed to the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean to see if I could find Jamie and Ronda waiting for me, I couldn't find them there so I went to the Blue Bayou to see of they had checked in. They had, the hostess was nice enough to let me look around to see if I could find them.

After Lunch I headed over to the land of construction walls that is know as Disney's California Adventure, with Jaime and Ronda. Once there we met up with there two travailing companions who complained about how long they were. After deciding not to ride California Screamn' we headed over to Grizzly River Run (GRR). On the way I got a picture of the mural on the golden dreams theater as it will be gone in the near future as it makes way for the little mermaid attraction.http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/eastyorkdisneyfan/Westfest09/DisneylandDay1010.jpg

Here's the food from our Blue Bayou lunch!
We have a lunch date at 1:50 with EastYorkDisneyFan, Thomas. Thomas and I met back in 2006 when a bunch of us went in together on a Wishes Cruise. The problem with one of those cruises is the noise from the boat – conversation is not easy. Thomas and I have managed to miss each by 1 day on at least 1 trip a year ever since! 2009 puts us in Disneyland and Disneyworld on the same day. 2 Possible Thomas meetings!
Thomas is flying in today. And he’s late for lunch. I’m hoping it isn’t that his flights are delayed. I don’t have a cell phone. I let the check in desk know we were short a person and wanted to wait a little while.
Rhonda and I sat and waited and considered our options. We’re not super hungry (stupid soup bowls!) but I don’t want to miss the chance to eat at the Blue Bayou…

About 2:20, we just checked in. I made sure to let everyone know that our third might still show up. Rhonda and I decided maybe to split something. We ended up splitting the crab cake entrée - Succulent pan-seared Crab Cakes, topped with her-citrus beurre bland and mango slaw. With Blue Bayou potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $30.99
Here’s my half of the salad

As we’re eating, I hear, "Jaime?" from behind me. Yea, Thomas made it!
The waiter goes to hand him the menu, but good Dis’ser that he is, Thomas just gives him his order.
Le Special de Monte Cristo - Turkey, ham, and Swiss cheese in a battered egg bread, lightly fried to a golden brown. With Blue Bayou potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $21.99

We chat and it was traffic from LAX that threw Thomas’ schedule out of whack. I’m just so glad that #1 he made it and #2 I knew his last name so I could get the table before he got there.
For dessert, Rhonda and I again split - The Flying Dutchman Cookie Boat - Warm chocolate chip cookie boat, served with Dreyer's vanilla-bean ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce $8.99

And Thomas ordered the Tortuga Trio of Cremé Brulee - Chocolate, passion fruit and vanilla-bean custards, caramelized and served with Brittany cookies $7.99

However, I believe he got 2 vanilla and 1 chocolate – that’s the way the waiter said it came.
$8,000 later, we head over to DCA – we are late to meet back up with the girls!

When I returned to the hotel my room was ready. This time I was in the magic tower. On my previous trip back in August of 2008 I had booked a standerd view room but got upgraded to one of the corner rooms facing the park on the top floor of the Dreams Tower. Like I said this time I was in the Magic tower this time I had a view of the city, but if I looked to my right I had a different view.

After getting my bags brought up by bell services, I headed back to the elevator to head back over to the parks again. I actually ended up on the elevator with the bell services person who brought up my luggage, I had a somewhat odd experience with him in the elevator, he pulled out a his tips and was counting it in front of me, now just so you know I was going to tip him but I forgot tip do it in the room, so I reached in to my wallet and handed him a five. He was actually kind of talkative and asked me what brought me to Disneyland so I told him that I was here for a Disney Fan gathering. When I stepped out of the elevator I turned to go out the back door where I saw Jamie in the gift shop with her crew, we had a bit of a laugh about weather or not this was staking. After parting ways with her I headed into Disneyland again to ride some things that i had missed when I was there last August. I started off with Peter Pan, which is much different then the WDW version, and it doesn't have fastpass to mess up the line. Then I headed over to Small World which was closed for a refeb when I was there last. I get there and who do I encounter again but Jamie. After a brief chat with her I headed in to the line for Small World well I was in the line I saw the clock on the front of small world do it's thing.
Link to the video I took (http://s675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/eastyorkdisneyfan/Westfest09/?action=view¤t=DisneylandDay1023.flv)
After ridding small world (I was actully in the same boat as John Stamos, Uncle Jsessie from Full House, sorry no picture I decided to respect his privacy) I went to go and find the entrance to Frontierland. Once I found it I took a ride on Big Thunder Mountain, then I headed back to Fantasyland where I got in line for Alice in Wonderland, well I was in line I saw parts of the new parade in Disneyland (if you can call it a parade, it was more of a rolling show that would stop a perform for about 20 minutes before going on to the next stop). After that It was time to leave the park for the first meet of WestFest, Podfest West at the lost bar in the grounds of the Disneyland Hotel. Unfortunately Main Street USA was a mess, because of the parade so to help out with traffic they had opened up one of the gates on the right side of main street facing the train station to allow those that were trying to exit the park (The store on Main Street aren't linked together like they are in the Magic Kingdom), any way this path took us right beside the storage spur for the Jungle cruise so you could just see a couple of boats sitting out in the open, I came back onto Main street where the horse drawn trolleys enter. Once back on ain Street I head out of the park and back to the Disneyland Hotel.

07-15-2009, 09:13 PM
Once I got to the Lost Bar I saw people that I knew by voice or from picture that I had seen of them online. How do you introduce yourself to people like that became my problem which on lasted maybe about 20 minutes or so. After that I decided to just go for it and start introducing myself to some of the smaller groups first, Gradually I ended up meeting more people like Josh and Keegen (the Teenage Disney Geek from the Adventure's of the Teenage Disney Geek Podcast). After a while the group moved to the outside of the bar where more people had shown up. We had some fun tossing around a stuffed monkey that had ended up in someone's paints the previous year (it was washed and microwaved several times). At one point it ended up in the gutter on the roof of the bar, lucky the Teenage Disney Geek was there to rescue him. If you think this is sounding wired, just wait until I post about the Island meet. :rotfl2:
I ended up- leaving there at 1:00 Am LA time which would have been 4:00 Am in Toronto, so at this point I had been up for about 24 hours at this point. As soon as I got back to my hotel room as I was going to get up early for Rope Drop at Disneyland.

So I got up and after showering I headed over to Disneyland where the crowds were gathering to be let on to Main Street before rope drop. I looked around to see if I could see anyone from that I had meet last night from The DPN (http://www.thedpn.com/). I didn't see anyone there so I just got into the shortest line I saw. Once the gates where open I headed to the bakery on Main Street where I got a Cafe Mocha and one of the Cinnamon Rolls. Next I headed out on to Main Street where I saw the first of many DPN people standing on the other side of the street. After a little bit a few more members showed up and hung out with us well we waited for them to drop the rope. Once they opened the rest of the park a group of us headed in to Fantasyland where we headed on to Peter Pan, one of the people I was with joked about how one time he showed them a FastPass for Peter Pan in WDW the cast members where shocked that it uses FastPass there. After that we headed over to Snow white and stopped at the Sword in the stone for some odd pictures (if you are on Face Book you can check out the picture of me from there on my page here (http://www.facebook.com/editaccount.php?networks#/thomas.mccarthy?ref=profile).) After that we headed over to its a small world again. This time I was in the front with Josh, the two of us decided to try and drum along with the song to keep us from going nuts.

After Small World some of the group decided to head over to DCA for a little bit. Those of us who stayed end up meeting up with some other DPN members like Joel (Coconut Wireless on the DPN) who does the video for the Meandering Mouse podcast, Keegan (Teenage Disney Geek) and a few others. We then headed over to Toon Town to witness Keegan's first step into Toon town ( Listen to episode 57 of the adventures of a Teenage Disney Geek for the audio of this event). We first headed for roger Rabat's cartoon spin one of the greatest dark rides that Disney has ever built. During this ride we were also joined by "Earl" and the "Bleepn' wife" from the Trapped on vacation podcast. ("Earl" is a WDW cast member that host the podcast under the stage name of Earl just in case he may get in trouble). Well in the queue there was a back and forth discussion about Disneyland's Toon Town (which was done right) and WDW's Toon Town Country Fair (which is just sad compared to Disneyland's). After a great ride we headed back out into the park to tour the rest of Toon town.

Notice how a certain dog has escaped thought the gate on the stairs.
The next stop was the Mad Hatter where the first of two sets of DF Ears were bought. OK this is the first thing that requires a lot of explaining so the rest of this chapter will be mostly about a hat.:rotfl2: First off DF is a term from the Micecast podcast which at times is not always family friendly, any way on one of their shows they came up with the acronym of DF which stands for Disney Fundamentalist which is their term for the people who go nuts over any little change that is made in the parks and say oh Walt wouldn't have done that or everything should be kept the same as when Walt was still alive. During WestFest there is a game played with the DF ears, which you get as a penalty for knowing too much about Disney, either by shearing information that people already know or if someone who is not a Disney Cast Member behaves like one, for example using the two finger point. The next rule is that the person who has it can not give it to some else, only someone who does not have the DF Ears can give the Ears to another person (if more then one set of Ears are present one DF can give the set they are not wearing to someone else).
After the DF Ears got bought we (Me, Josh, "Earl" and the Bleep'n Wife) head over to ride Mr Toad. Well we were in the queue a discussion about the rule of the DF Ears got started, regarding if it included Disney owned properties such as ABC counted. "Earl" got annoyed with Josh for this and gave him the Ears. He had them for the next couple of hours. :rotfl2:
Next up was a ride on Pinocchio daring journey, followed by Snow Whites' Scary Adventures. By now it was getting to be lunch time and we headed over to Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland. While we were there we met up with some of the DPN members from earlier. We also meet up with the manager of the restaurant who wanted to know what we were all celebrating and she instead on getting us "I'm Celebrating" buttons. Since Josh still had the DF Ears we told her that he was our leader and so he got stuck with a bag of 50 "I'm Celebrating" buttons. We ended up writing on them DPN WestFest which lead to some fun later on. Also we got her to reserve some tables for us for the next Day's lunch meet.
Ok Just so you guys know this isn't even the first official day of WestFest yet this is only the day before, if you think it's crazy now wait till the next day.

So after lunch we headed over to pirates and it had a huge line. Well we were in it I told one of the Disneyland locals that was with us about how the chains that make up the sometimes used outdoor queue for WDW are made from large anchor chains and how I literally saw a Cast Member dragging them into place. Once we got inside we got loaded into our boat, now this is where I need to point out that not all of the people in this boat where the lightest people in the DPN. Also we are not sure if the Cast Member loading the boat realised when she told us what rows to get into. So we start making our way through the Blue Bayou section of the ride, then we come to the first drop our boat gets stuck at the top of it. The CM in the control tower for the ride tells us to try doing "The pirate shuffle", rocking the boat from side to side to get it unstuck. That didn't work. At this point we have now herd the skull and crossbones spiel about 5 times, then they announce that a CM by the name of Aubry will be along to help us get over the drop, she come over and manages to get us over the first drop. At splash down we had a wave worthy of splash mountain come over the boat. Now in Disneyland there are two drops, guess what we got stuck on the second one. This time we manged to get the boat moving again by rocking it forward. We then proceeded through the ride very slowly, we suspected that we might be dragging on the bottom. We get through the ride and then comes the lift hill at the end and we start to wonder if we will get stuck on that one too. We get up and have a good laugh as another wave is created in the flume as we come over the top. By this point we see a large group of people in the line that look like they may have been there for a while. After exiting the boat we all waved to Aubry up in the control room.

After leaving pirates we headed out into New Orleans square and past by the train station as a train left. I commented jokingly that there should be a fry cart near by as the trains run on Bio Diesel made from used french fry oil. Before I had realised what I had just said "Earl" took the DF Ears from Josh and put them on my head. This was to be the first of 13 times it happened to me. Yup you read that right 13 times over 3 days. Next we headed into the Hunted Mansion. After the Hunted Mansion we headed over to the Jungle cruise where I took a picture of myself with the DF Ears on.

After the Jungle cruise we took the train to Tomorrowland to try and go on Space Mountain. Well we were in the queue it went 101 and the cast members told us that they didn't know when it would reopen. After we left the queue a second set of DF Ears got purchased. It was now approaching the time for an unofical meet at the Celebration Bar B Que. It's in an area of Frontierland just behind Big Thunder Mountain. Once we got there we started meeting up with other members of the DPN. With in about 15 minutes of getting there I got relived of the DF Ears by Pat (you may have herd him call into the Dis unplugged voice mail line or send them an e-mail, he's the one that is working on the Disney Family Museum), he asked me how I got the Eras and then he mentioned something about how they were having problems with the Bio- fuel eating through the fuel tanks in the park and they were having top replace them. This met was a lot of fun as we got to see Chip and Dale attack one of the people in our party, he may have proved them I'. not exactly sure. Also during this we saw Jessie the Yodeling Cow Girl break one of the lanterns at the front of the stage, we also had the servers and the sinning cowboy really confused by us as when they asked what we were celebrating and we said things like friendship, meat, and the number 42. When they saw our buttons and asked what WestFest was we told them it was just to hard to explain.
After this meet was over it was time to head over to DCA for Queen Lo’s Island Palindrome Party at the Redwood Challenge Trail! and also for Micecast’s & Aussie John’s 2nd Annual Rabble Rouser Meet. But those will be the subject of my next update.

After finishing up with the bills, everyone paid separately. We all headed over to DCA a group of about 30 of us. Once we got to DCA the first order of business was to get FastPasses for Shorin' over California. Next we made our way over to the Red Wood Creek Changeable Trail for what would probably be one of the craziest, wildest, and most fun meets at WestFest 2009, it was time for Queen Lo’s Island Palindrome Party at the Redwood Challenge Trail!
OK time for a little back story. On the DPN forums there is a section called Just for Fun and at the top is a thread titled The DPN Desert Island Party! The Fantasy Isle de Lorien! It is a virtual island with monkeys that cook, clean, and serve us drinks, also it is almost 555 pages long and still going. Also Palindromes are very important especially when we have a page that is one, we have a huge party where we bring out the Martin Tram (read it backwards :rotfl2:).
So let me set this up for you picture a group of adults with one or two teenagers ruining around a playground designed for children.
http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/eastyorkdisneyfan/Westfest09%20Day%202/DisneylandDay2028.jpg
In the middle of this picture in the light blue shirt is Lorien who is refereed to as Auntie Lo, or Queen Lo. We had an amazing time running and jumping in the cargo nets that make up this playground. Several times people almost got lunched into the air from people bouncing in the nest. One of the funniest parts was when we found a radio for kids to play around with and Brian Sommer having a conversation with a kid over the radio that involved everything from star wars references to giving him instructions to watch for fires, holding his mother for ransom and also insurrections to wait for paramedics.:rotfl2::rotfl2: For audio of this event download the Adventures of a Teenage Disney Geek podcast episode 55.
After this it was time to head over to the bear wagon on the wharf for Micecast’s & Aussie John’s 2nd Annual Rabble Rouser Meet. After some more meet and greets with even more DPN people a few drinks of bear for all those of age it was time to head over to Soarin' Over California. We ended up with 13 people who didn't have a FastPass but the cast member at the front of the line let them in with an attraction re ride slip as we had such a large group over 70 at this point. After that there was a change in DF Ears "Earl" got one set for acting like superman during the ride and I got the other for pointing out Micheal Eisner n the film and also a few other things.
Then i a group of us ran across the park to get on Toy Story Midway Mania, most of us got in the line before they closed it off for the night. While we were in line we could see off in the distance the fireworks in Disneyland. After the ride was over I sundered the DF Ears yet again this time to someone for getting the highest score on Toy Story Midway Mania.
What happens next tune in for my next part.

After riding Toy Story Midway Mania a bunch of us headed back over t Disneyland. Well walking through both parks the DF Ears changed heads once again this time Brian Sommer got them for something I can't really remember. Then I got the for saying suppercalifralisticexpialidouicous backwards. The first thing up that night was a ride on the subs. Flowed by a ride on Buzz Lightyears Astro Blasters Keegan end up getting the DF Eras for reciting the Spanish safety spiel. After that we headed our separate ways for the night. We would be meting again the next morning for the first official Day of WestFest.

After getting off at the Tomorowland station I made my way to the Plaza Gardens near the hub in Disneyland. Once I got there I was reminded that I needed a FastPass for Indy for later in the day, so I was off to Adventureland to get one. After that the kickoff meet was held, strangely this was one of the least attended events of the day. After hanging around for a little while it was time to get a FastPass for Big Thunder Mountain. The it was time to head over to the Tea Cups for the Single Rider’s Teacups Spin-O-Ramma (the single rider is a podcast hosted by Chris who also does the Big D and the Big D in HD video podcasts). After that a group of 12 of us went on Alice in Wonderland, followed by an incredibly funny walk through of the dioramas in Sleeping Beauty Castle. (audio of this can be found in episode 58 of the Adventures of a Teenage Disney Geek) The walk through consisted of Brian Summer giving Keegan (The teenage Disney Geek) suggestions for different voices to read the various books telling the story of Sleeping Beauty. After that we headed over to Critter Country to grab FastPasses for Splash Mountain. Then it was time to head over to Indy for the first part of The Travelears “Traveling like Indy” Meet & Munch. Well we were waiting a couple of us decided to climb Tarzan's tree house. Well at the top of the tree house well I was taking some pictures of the view I jokingly said that Big Thunder was in the wrong place and should be beside Splash Mountain and the hunted mansion should be where Big Thunder is. (I was standing next to one of the Disneyland locals at the time)

Next up was a group ride on Indy, I think we filed at least ten ride vehicles. After that it was time to head over to El Rancho Del Zocolo for lunch. Now I had mentioned earlier in the report about our conversation with the manager, she had gotten tables reserved for our group. After Lunch it was time to head over to Big Thunder Mountain for the Trapped on Vacation’s Goat, Goat, Goat, Meet. A little bit of back ground on this one on Big Thunder there are anamtronic goats stationed at various places on the ride mainly some of the wilder turns and it's a DPN tradition to yell goat as you pass by them. OK back to the report picture this about 70 or so people all entering the FastPass line for Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road chanting "Goat!, Goat!, Goat!,...". We took up about 4 full trains and then had one person in the front of a 5th train.
After that it was time for The Adventures of a Teenage Disney Geek’s “Wet & Wild Ride Splash Mountain Meet”. Before this meet got started we had a bit of a problem as there were some people that did not have FastPasses fr the ride so after a little bit of negotiations with the CM at the front of the line we got told that as long as we had a FastPass for Splash Mountain they would let us on.

So after our ride on Splash Mountain , a group of us headed over to Fantasyland to take a ride on Cassy Junior. After that it was time for the Done in the Dark’s “The Great Pooh Hunt!”. This meet was hosted by Paul Berrie from A window to the Magic fame. The name of the meet comes from the name of the Country Bear's website he ran before Window to the Magic. This meet consisted of a ride on the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh while taking pictures of every Pooh in the attraction. I didn't come close but here are some of my pictures from that ride through.

After that a number of people decided to go to In and Out burger. Those of us that stayed in Disneyland hung around in the hub for a little bit until it was time to head over to Toon Town for Tidbits’ Toon Town Spin, this meet was hosted by Terry Rich who is Paul Berrie's girlfriend and the host of the Disney Tidbits podcast. This was another ride through of Roger Rabbit's cartoon spin well we did a quick questioner on things to do with Roger Rabbit. This was once again a gathering of the DPN where DF Hats should have been present but weren't. Both had left the parks with the people who had them at the time.
After that ride through it was time for the DPN Dinner meet at the Plaza Inn, only some us actually ate there as some of the group had gone to in and out burger. After dinner it was soon time to gatherer for the fireworks show, Remember Dreams Come True. We were supposed to meet by the cigar store Indian outside the music store but we ended up heading towards the hub to watch it. The audio of this even can be heard on The Adventures of a Teenage Disney Geek episode 59.
Once that was over a group of us headed over to the Storybook land Canal boats as at the previous WestFest (2008) "Earl" from Trapped on Vacation had a really creepy guide on it and wanted to see if we could get one this time too. Unfortunately we got a boat with a bad audio system a so so Cast Member. Up Next was Imagineering My Way’s Midnight Cruise down the “Rivers of Adventure” at the Jungle Cruise. It was planed to be a ride on the last boat of the night, but it didn't actually end up that way. Before the ride on the Jungle Cruise Greg McNaughten the host of it had a few copies of Walt Disney World: The Full Report. I got one of them for at the time having the DF Hat a total of 9 times at that point.
After that it was time for the ride in the Jungle Cruise, I unfortunately didn't get the Skippers name but he was one of the best skippers I have heard and he was only a trainee. When we stopped by Trader Sam the head salesman of the Jungle cruise over there. I joked that I liked "Chief Name" (pronounced Nam a) better, and he asked about that and so we told him about how the skippers on the WDW version got to rename him and decided to call him Nam A or Name.
After that a group of about 10 of us deiced to take a last ride on Indy. During the ride we got stuck a couple of times and then at the end of it I tripped getting out of the ride vehicle and banged my arm on the control console for the ride. I was fine and I didn't break the ride. After that it was time to head back to our hotels for the night or home for the locals that weren't staying in one.
Up next the the final day of WestFest.

Today began with me sleeping in a bit as DCA doesn't open until 10. The first meet of the day was Disney Geeks to the Rescue hosted by the Teenage Disney Geek (This was his first ride on Monster Inc: Mike and Sulley to the Rescue). After this meet it was time to grab fast passes for Tower of Terror later in the day. By now it was time for the DPN Meet and Greet / Lunch @ the Pacific Wharf this was just as it sounds a meet to have lunch. During lunch a group of us decided to head over to the Hyperion theater to see the Aladdin show. Before that we made a side trip to Disney Animation we toured threw it and stopped at a place where you could insert your voice in to a scene from a Disney Movie. Josh and I did a scene from Aladdin with Iago and Jafar. I attempted a some what good impersonation of Iago. After that we went up the Hollywood Pictures Backlot street. This street is a lot like Hollywood boulevard in DHS, except you have Muppet Vision 3d, Monsters Inc: Mike and Sulley to the Rescue, Disney Animation, and the Hyperion Theater, also the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is there too. After Aladdin it was time for The Magic Never Ends’ Toy Story Mania Smackdown hosted by the Magic Never ends crew. Again another group ride threw. Once that was it was almost time for The Big D’s Cali Screamin’ Meet to begin a few of us decided not to go on it so we just hung around and waited. During this time a dew of us decided to go back to Disney Animation to try our hads at drawing a Disney charater. We ended up drawing Doppey, my drawing of him ended up looking like the crepy psesed drawf that they kewep locked in the basment that no one ever saw. Sorry no picture of it as it would have broken my camra :rotfl2: or have been censered by this comunity.

Plane tickets can defenitly be the worst for going out there but you can find deals sometimes. Disneyland is a lot of fun but beware there are a lot of dead end paths that you think would lead somewhere but don't, and also attractions aren't where they are supposed to be.:rotfl2:

Ok 4 days to go and I need to finish this section of my report before I leave.
So after Tower of Terror I decided to head out with a group of people who were going back to Disneyland for the day as I was getting a little tired of DCA. We headed over to Disneyland where I learned that there was a group heading to the Blue Bayou for dinner, I figured if they told me to go somewhere else I would, I never got told that and had a great time with about 30 people at one table in the Blue Bayou. For dinner I had the New Orleans style Gumbo, and the Five-Pepper Roast New York. After dinner a group of us rode the Many adventurees of winniw the pooh, some people left either to go home or go to one of the last meets of WestFest. Well the rest of us satyed and took the train to Tomorowland to get in a few more rides. The trian soon arived and we were told by the conductor that the train would be going out of service when it got to toon town, so when we got there we waited for the next train. Then we rode Space Mountian using a couple of passes obtained when California Scremin went 101 earlier that day. The we heded to Star Tours where a person in the row in front of us had seen it way to many times and was providing his own comentary. Up next was another ride on buzz light year and then back to the train to go through the grand Canyon Diarama. We got off at main streert for a bity of shopping and then headed over to Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room for dole whips and to see the show. Inside ther3e was agroup of about 10 of us on one side of the room and a group of 2 that came in shortly after us. The host needed someone to help her wake up Jose so we all voluntired Keegan (The teenage Disney Geek) to do it, I think he was probobly the most excited teenager to ever do it. After sininging along with the birdies and the Tikis, it was time to go. I said my goodbyes to some people as they would be leaving for there homes I on the other hand had another day to spend in the parks.

After that I explored more of DCA and saw that Mickey's Fun Wheel was working and taking passengers. So I went and took a ride in one of the non - swinging cars. While I was getting on I saw Joel from the DPN (he does the video for the meandering mouse podcast) getting on to one of the swinging cars. After that we headed to Pizza Oom Mow Mow. After lunch we headed over to the Tower of Terror and then to playhouse Disney as Joel wanted to tape it for the meandering mouse podcast. After that we headed over to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail to view the Brother Bear Totem ceremony after the show they had a meet and greet with the stars of brother bear. Joel was nice enough to take my pictur with them and later send them to me.

After that we met up with Pat (POD, he's the one working on the Disney Family Museum) and we headed to Toy Story Midway Mania. Well we were in the queue I got a voice mail from Disneyland Reservations saying that my reservation for Story Tellers had been candled due to a problem in the reasturant. Up next we viewed the Pixar Play parade, a couple of times we had to run to avoid the water that they isist on sparying at you during it. After that we begain to head out as DCA was closing soon, on the way out we stopped and rode Soarng over California. Then we headed over to Disneyland. Once there we rode the matterhorn, Spacemoutian and then I went on the Tomorrowland Autopia, which has a really long line and for some reason it has FasstPass. After cruising the freeways of Tomorowland (we so needd this version in WDW) I headed over to Tomorrowland Terrace to get some dinner then I goty on the monorail and took it back to my hotel to pack up as I would be leaving the next morning.

So when I last left off I was getting ready to leave.
That morning I woke up and had room service deliver breakfast to my room, of Banana's foster mickey waffles. After breakfast I heeded over to Downtown Disney for a bit as my flight didn't leave until 3:00 and the Disneyland express wasn't picking me up until 12:00. After exploring downtown Disney for I headed back to the hotel to explore the grounds.
Here are some pictures of the waterfall by the wonder tower.

Then it was time to go. I headed out the front door of the hotel and over to the waiting area for the Disneyland express. Once on the bus I was on my way to LAX with thoughts of meeting great new friends (some of which I have mentioned in this report), new memories and hopes of coming back again to WestFest 2010.

My trip began at about 7 in the morning with my last minute packing of my tolitries and my computer. I took a picture of my bags just in case Magical Express grabbed both of them as I only had on luguge tag but the airline I was flying on allowed me to check two bags for free, yes there are airlines other then Southwest that still do this.

After landing in Orlando for the first time since 2006, as on my last two Disney trips I only flew out of it (in 2007 I flew to Barcelona first and then arrived in WDW Via the Disney Magic on the Trans Atlantic cruise, in 2008 I arrived back in Florida after flying in to LAX via the Disney Magic again this time though the Panama Canal), any way back to this trip report. First I headed over to baggage claim to pick up the bag that did not have the Magical Express tag on it. After that I had to go back upstairs and across to the other side of the airport to get to the DME counter. Once there I found they have there own version of "FastPass", if you have all of your paperwork that they send you with you then you can bypass the counter entirely. First you show your information to someone at a check in desk and then they scan your ticket and ask you how many bags you have then they direct you to the lines for the individual resorts.
Once I got to Pop Century I had a bout a 5 minute wait to check in I was off to my room on the back side of the 50's building room number 3334.

Up next was a trip to my favorite of all the Disney Parks.
Incidentally the list is a flows:
1.) Epcot
2.) Disneyland
3.) Magic Kingdom
4.) Disney's Animal Kingdom
5.) Disney's Hollywood Studios
6.) Disney's California Adventure
So I was headed to Epcot.

Before heading to Epcot I stopped at Everything Pop for some lunch as it was almost 3 and I hadn't eaten since this morning back at home, I had the Chicken Penne and a carrot cake for desert, and I garbed my refillable mug then too.

After garbing some pictures in front of Spaceship Earth, I headed over to it to take a ride on the new version, but what's this it has a line and a 20 minute wait. So I decided to skip it for now, and head over to the Land pavilion and see what the wait/ FastPass return time was for Soar'n. It was about 50 minutes if I remember correctly, I garbed a FastPass for later and decided to see how bad the line was, I didn't want to spend an hour in the line so I decided to head over to World Showcase via Journey into Imagination, all I can say about that is I like Figment. After that I was back to World Showcase and I saw this passing overhead.

Up next a few pictures of the with the Illuminations barges in place.

After that I walked around World Showcase, I stopped in France to see the chair balancing act, I didn't get any pictures as the sun was in my eyes. I continued my stool around the lagoon and then stopped in Norway as the wait for Maelstrom was only about 5 minutes. After seeking the spirit of Norway I decided to wait for the film.
Up next was a ride in Mexico with the Three Caballeros. Then I went to see what the wait for Test Track was, it was way to long for me as I had a dinner reservation for Boma at 7 and I wanted to have time to go back to Pop and change. Up next I took my first ride on the new Spaceship Earth, it's OK. Then I headed back to Pop where I changed my shirt before heading to Boma.

I forgot that I also encountered a photopass photographer in Japan well I was walking around world showcase. When I handed him my photopass card he joked that it was fake and wanted to know where I had gotten it from him, I told him that someone in the front of the park dressed like him had given it to me.
