I've read the horror stories about how crowded the Mickey pool can get and would like to plan to visit the pool during the lesser crowded times. Having never cruised, I am guessing that the following times may be good:

1. just after boarding while most people are eating, making reservations, and getting settled in their rooms

2. early morning

3. during port stops

We don't plan to make spa or Palo reservations and are seriously considering enjoying the ship rather than getting off in Nassau. My kids will love the pool but would be hesitant if it were overcrowded as it sounds like it typically is.

What do you think?

We went to Nassau for the morning ans was back on the ship by lunch. Did not look busy in the family pool and Mickey mouse pool. Maybe about 10 to 20 kids that PM.

You're on the right track with all three points. Definitely stay on the ship in Nassau. More people stay on the ship during port days on the Wonder (much less so on the Magic on port days) than you'd think, so the pools won't be empty, but they will be less crowded.

Enjoy! :)

I WOULD ADD AFTER DARK THERE IS NO ONE IN THE POOLS AND THEY ARE OPEN TILL MIDNIGHT.

Late afternoons tend to be good. Folks tend to fade away as they're getting ready for dinner and the shows.

Our son had the pool almost to himself from about 5:30 or so, the whole area cleared out when people left to get ready for first seating dinner, we cruised in October so by 6:30 it was getting a bit too chilly to swim so we left, never tried it after that.
