I saw September 2009 and I saw November 2009, but first three pages didn't show an October 2009 watch.
Anyone with me?
I got the go ahead from DH to plan for "Fall" 2009. He even told some friends that when we stayed at the Poly last year it was worth every penny! :faint: Of course, we'd still love a code!!!! We had one last year and are hoping for one for this year.
Join me!
I am thinking we'll go the last week of October. My DD's birthday is on Halloween, so that would be a lot of fun!

Disney October 2009 Here We Come! :cool1: My husband and I have participated in the Tower of Terror 13K for the past two years. Next year we were thinking of surprising the boys and bringing them along. The boys have started running with us, so I think it could be a great family thing to do. The Tower of Terror run has always been the third weekend in October, so I am planning around that time. A discount offer would be great! We stayed at the Poly this summer on a Bounceback offer from last years run. We were spoiled at the Poly! I would love to be back there in October.:cheer2:

i always book early, even 11 months in advance.
that way i already have the room and when rates come out, i just modify my rates. all i want to do is guarantee my room and dates in advance.
i lost out on a resort room once cause i waited until the codes came out one year.

Well, I definitely wouldn't wait until codes came out! I am way too paranoid for that.
I am waffling now between the last week of October, so we could go and celebrate my DD's birthday. Or late September. Late September would be cheaper (probably) and things like MNSSHP would be less crowded. But it wouldn't be her birthday! I think she would LOVE the attention she'd get for her birthday. But I'd love to save money and have less crowds! :)
Oh decisions decisions. Who am I kidding? I know I'll go the last week of October! :thumbsup2

We are wanting to go 10/03/09, and should be getting serious, and booking now I guess.
If I book now, and Visa offers free dining again in the fall, can I add that to the package? I know I can add a code, if one comes out.
Does anyone know, can I use my Visa reward dollars to put a down payment on a WDW package?
macraven
10-23-2008, 11:23 PM
if you book a package now, you can modify it later and use a different discount code. once you have booked a package for specific dates, you will have a room guaranteed. chances are free dining w/packages will surface again for 2009. you will have no problem at all to switch codes.
disney visa usually have codes for packages which include the free dining program. disney visa holders have the first week, or so many days to book with that code. after the visa holders date passes, the codes are released to the general public.
only so many packages are available per resort.
once the alloted number of rooms are booked for a specific code, you can't book with it unless you can get a cancellation.
that is the main reason i book a package early so i know i have the room for my trip. then i modify and use the code that saves me the most money.
you would pay the $200 deposit at the time of booking and not have to pay the rest until 45 days out from your stay.
it is easier to book a package now, pay the deposit and then modify the rate when codes come out.
if you book a room only now, you could not switch to a package later.
that would have to be a different booking and a cancellation of your room ressie.
the free dining would only come with a package.
room only ressies have no free dining involved with it.
codes should come out in the spring. if the disney visa codes are not all used up, disney usually releases other new codes for the public to book with.
i'm betting free dining will be one of the codes with the packages.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I requested a DVD and got a 20% off pin in the mail. It had dates for the rest of this year, but I gave it to my TA to check anyway. For October of 09 it was valid for the 25th to the 31st. October 4-24 are blackout dates, just like the 40% off pins that are out. I've had to split my reservation up, but anything to save some money on the Poly    Good luck everyone :wizard:

We are planning on October 1 - 7, 2009. Plans are kind of vague right now, as there are a lot of variables at this point. My Disney-freak-of-a-cousin is applying for the College Program for Fall 2009, and we are planning a big family trip to go see him. First he has to get accepted, and then we need to decide where we are staying, who is all going, who is rooming with who, etc.
I can't wait to start planning, but he needs to apply and get accepted first!
Would love a code though! :)

What a great forum!
I'm new here and planning our next Disney vacation for October 2009. We went for ten days in September, and while I think I did pretty well price-wise....I'd like to do much better for next year!
If I understand correctly - if I book our package now, I can later have the room rate adjusted based on the discount codes we're all waiting to have released sometime in the future?
A couple of questions:
1. If you've used a room discount code and a free dining plan code is also made available, can you also do the free dining?
2. If you want the deluxe dining plan, do they discount the amount of the free dining (standard plan) for those wanting the deluxe plan?
Thanks!

You can only use one code at a time, so you would have to pick which one made sense for you.
I believe the answer to your second questions is yes, but not sure.

Yay! Lots of people for October planning! Woohoo! As I mentioned earlier, I got a PIN for 20% off. Like another poster said on another thread, I had saved an itinerary and then a week later got this PIN! So, go save an itinerary on WDW's website!
Of course, the PIN only worked for the day AFTER we arrived, so I had to switch up my plans a little. I now have TWO itineraries mapped out, just in case a code comes out that is better than my 20%, so I can go back to my other dates! :rotfl: I am CRAZY!!!!!

for the last 6 years, i have gone to the motherland anywhere between sept 24 to oct 1 in starting my trip.
i stay in orlando for 15 days.
the first couple of years the first week of october have not been crowded at all.
the last 3, i have seen more crowds once the columbus day weekend starts, especially from that monday on.
i'm always out of orlando by oct 16th but have read that parks are seeing more crowds from mid oct thru the end of the month.
of course, it could be the parks i am at during that time in october, where i have encountered more crowds than normal.
i prefer the beginning of october for the smaller crowds, less rain and more of the 85 degree weather for the day and 68-71 temps at night.

My wonderful DH said to me a couple of days ago "Let's go to WDW for our 5th anniversary and stay in a deluxe." I'm so there! Hoping for the 16-18th.
Well - he's sure a keeper! :goodvibes

We're booked for October 13-17 at the Poly Club Level. (6 people, 2 rooms, 2 parents, 2 kids, 2 grandmothers....and a partridge in pear tree)
I'm obsessively planning ADRS....crossing things out and changing my mind hourly. My DH keeps laughing at me!

Hey everyone, I just noticed there was another October thread. Since that one was started two months before mine, we'll call that the original. :)
Everyone here want to head over there?
