So now that I have accepted, I am totally addicted to the CP site and all the opportunities! A lot of the clubs sound like fun to me. I was wondering what clubs you enjoyed and what you thought of them? What kind of things did the club do?

I didn't join any of the clubs. Was working a lot and would be exhausted after work. I also preferred going to play in the parks with coworkers or roomies. Fun times.

I didn't even know there were clubs until now.

Clubs? Hmm, never knew such a thing existed. Honestly, between working, classes (if you choose), and trying to explore central Florida, I can't imagine a CP having time for an organized club. I'm curious how meetings would go with members obviously having different work schedules?

That's what I was wondering. When I looked at the latest edition of Eyes and Ears(I think that's what it's called) it looks like they meet once a month.

It took a bit of digging on The Hub, but I was able to finally find it.

Cast Clubs at the Walt Disney World Resort are organized through Cast Activities, Events & Recognition. They cover a wide variety of interests, from Aspiring Authors to Disney Pin Trading, and hold their meetings on property.

Here are the external websites for some of the groups:

I'm hoping to get involved with STAGE next time I'm down in FL.

No clubs for me, but make sure to do the VoluntEAR program as much as possible! You will NOT regret doing that and it will open your eyes up and make anyone who does it a better person!

How often does the voluntEAR program meet? What kind of stuff do they do?

The Disney VoluntEARS don't have a set schedule really.

At the DLR, you sign up for Activities on The Hub, and then you just show up at the site and do the Volunteer work.

At WDW, they have some activities from time to time that you do like the above. For most of them, though, you register on The Hub, contact and volunteer with the Organization directly, and then report your service to the company.

The things they tend to do vary from organization to organization. Here in California, VoluntEARS staff most DLR Cast Events as well as various Charity Events, Food Banks, Youth Summits, and so on.

I had a roommate who volunteered with Give Kids the World Village.

Volunteers there do things like work in the little ice cream shop
I think they take CP's once a week? or once a month...something like that. All the info is on the HUB

That sounds cool! Do the buses take you there or are you on your own?

Pretty sure they take a bus. But you can go on your own as well. I know many people who went once with the CP's but then started going more often or just at different times that worked better for them. The village is only about a 10-15 minute drive from Chatham and Vista so if you wanted to go on your own it's very easy.

This sounds like a great opportunity!! Does the voluntEAR program do anything with Habitat for Humanity?? I think that would be a great opportunity for CPs!

When I did my program in Spring 2007, I was interested in playing softball in the Disney Cast Member Softball League. I ended up getting a team together of all CP's. We had a BLAST and it was so much fun. It was a great way to meet people and share some awesome memories.

I also was a part of Disney's VoluntEARS. We participated in a bowl-a-thon to raise money. It was a fun night. Definitely get involved in everything and anything you can. Attend the workshops, even if it's something like how to make those towel animals. My only regret is that I didn't do more!
