I read that there are more 2 bedroom units at BLT. Does this mean that it will be harder to get a one bedroom there as there are not as many as some of the other resorts ? I only need a one bedroom and plan to make it my home resort so I have the 11 month booking window. But I don't want to pay the extra money for it if i can't get a one bdr even at the 11 month window . Any thoughts on this?

I guess most people need 2 bdrms so that is why they had more rooms like this?

There will be 133 two bedroom lockoff units and 148 dedicated two bedroom units.

Most recent DVC resorts (SSR, AKV, BLT) are almost entirely comprised of two bedroom villas. They come in two flavors--dedicated Two Bedroom villas which can only be reserved as a 2B, and lockoff Two Bedroom villas which can be reserved either as a 2B or separately as a Studio + One Bedroom.

Given that lockoffs and dedicated villas occupy identical space, I assume that Disney has sound reasoning for determining how many of each villa to build. In other words, a smaller number of One Bedroom villas most likely means demand is lower.

True, but I wonder if the ability to sleep 5 in a one bedroom and the additional bathroom (AKV/BLT) will change this trend ?
Is Disney basing this on the older style one bedroom historical trends. I know we usually never stay in a one bedroom until this year when we did at AKV and I could see us booking the one bedrooms even more on a regular basis to save points now that they can accomodate our family size.

looks like they are going back to OKW design.

OKW has no dedicated studio or 1-bedroom - only dedicated 2-bedrooms.

they know this thing will appeal to families - so that is the target market.

with studios still being the big demand - don't think you will have a problem getting a 1-bedroom.

bad news - there will probably always be someone in the studio part.

it will run out of studios before 1-bedrooms and you will definitely heard about it here. so you can get your 1-bedroom before they run out of them.

really wish for a couple of dedicated studios and 1-bedrooms - but hey take what we get...

Yep....I'm still thinking with the reconfigured one bedrooms (sleep 5/extra bathroom), and higher points required, that BLT will see more of a demand for studios and 1 bedrooms----and dedicated would be nice, but oh well......

Same here. We have 5 and the new style 1BR at BLT will be more than enough for us when we all go. The 2BR needed at OKW/SSR/VWL/BWV/BCV are great-but really a waste for our family-each kid does not need there own queen bed. Since we pretty much only stay at BCV/BWV/VWL 2BR's-the MK View 1BR is more or less the same amount of points anyway-so stays there will not cost more points for us.

but for the new ones who don't know how much cheaper OKW, BWV, AKV, etc. can be.

this is still a bargin.

especially if they used to staying on the monrail already - and have never really looked into DVC before.

or the ones who have new families and have never even been to WDW before.

as much as I would love a MK view - with those points a standard view will work for me - just walk outside or go to the top to see the fireworks.

now expecting the standard view to go fast - but hey expected the standard and value view at AKV to go fast - and they haven't at lease for my trips - been able to get one everytime.

so hoping most will go with MK or BL view - both of which are nice - very nice. but the MK is pretty wonderful!:yay:
