I'll eat it, but i am not a big fan of cake. I'll take the icing though, if it's the good stuff (cream cheese!). I much prefer cookies, brownies or pies over cake. :goodvibes

And I prefer cake over cookies, brownies and pie. Just means more cake for me I guess!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
But we both agree that good cream cheese icing is the best!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Mmm... cream cheese frosting... Yum! :cloud9:
Now that's got me thinking about red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting - not something you find on the menu often here in NJ. Is there anywhere to find red velvet cake in WDW?

I would probably go to strangers' weddings for cake, but I respect those who don't want to eat it. More for me!

Now, I thought I heard him say that he does like wedding cake...
Was I mistaken?

All cakes were not created equal. I humbly suggest Corey has not tried "top notch" cake.

I thouroughly enjoy a good cake. But please keep your icing/frosting. It masks the flavor, like pouring a bottle of A1 steak sauce on filet mignon. Nice, but not necessary.

My wife doesn't eat cake. At first, I questioned if I really wanted to marry someone who doesn't like cake ;).
Then, she introduced me to the wonder known as the cookie cake. The Nestle Toll House store at the Mall of America sells them and we get one for every special event.
We even make up some special events just to have them. They are the best!

I can understand this. Some icing is made mostly of Crisco with powedered sugar (like the filling in Oreos). When my sister found out what the icing was made of, she stopped eating it and sticks to buttercream icing.

That stuff they use in most of the grocery store bakeries is crap. Crisco and powdered sugar...blech...
I do use a bit of crisco in my buttercream, but it's only for a bit of stability. My recipe is mostly REAL butter (not margarine). Even people who usually don't like icing like my recipe!
Now CorEy (or Julie)...define wedding cake. Is it just a specific flavor of cake or is it the icing? All of my cakes are wedding cake quality! If I could figure out how to send the team a cake...and have it arrive in one piece...i'd do it! Still trying to figure it out...

TMI! There are some things that we don't need to know. I don't think I'll ever be able to eat Oreos again.

I must admit, I don't care much for most cake icings. However, our local grocery store has a cake they make with whipped cream icing and it is yummy. If someone "forgets" to pick up a a cake, they will cut it up and sell the sllices - I buy at least two whenever I go there. MMMMM

CorEy, I don't eat 'em either!! Ever since I was a kid. Can't stand 'em.

You are right, I remember hearing that and thinking "WHAT !!!!" They are my absolute favorite. I would make them as soon as I got home after every trip to Copenhagen. I even took a can of mamwhich with me to Europe :rotfl:
But no one else in my family likes them, so I had them last night for supper, today for lunch and probably again for lunch tomorrow.

I love the whippy icing! The bakeries around here use a product called Bettercreme for their whippy icing. You can buy it at Gordon's Food Service. It comes in quart size containers that look like the cardboard milk cartons and you keep it in your freezer. It's about the consistency of almost melted ice cream...you just pour some into a mixer and whip it for about 7-10 minutes and voila! You have whippy icing! I like to add different flavors to it as it only comes in vanilla around here. My favorite addition is a couple shots of Bailey's. Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum...

 I'll take it to them, B!! :car: I guarantee it'll arrive in one piece!!
Of course, *I* know how good your cakes are, so I can't predict how big the one piece will be by the time it gets down to Orlando... ;) ;)

I stopped eating Sloppy Joes made with ground beef. I do however eat them with Boca Burger Crumbles. You get all the taste of a Sloppy Joe, you'd never know it wasn't ground beef, but you don't get that scary grease rainbow on the top of the bowl. No matter how well I drained ground beef, I couldn't get rid of that grease rainbow.

Corey being from New Orleans do you not eat King Cake? That is by far the best cake ever created.

I know people say "never say never", but I never order desserts at restaurants - it's just not my thing. The servers on cruise ships look at me like I'm crazy. I am a meat eater. Give me a 18+ oz. steak (medium rare) and I am one happy dude. Sushi is my true weakness though.

My elementary school ruined me for life with Sloppy Joes. I think it was the ground beef. I can tolerate a Pulled Pork Sloppy Joe, but only if I am starving and there is nothing else for miles.

I do like King Cake, but only the parts with very little icing. I don't like it when the icing is "caked" on. :thumbsup2

And living in FL you have the best cake in the world, made at Publix!! I've had cake from many different grocery stores and none can live up to Publix cake.
Oh well, more for me.

I totally understand this! It took me forever to eat authentic Chinese food because of the "chop suey" they served in my elementary school cafeteria. It was beyond HORRIBLE!
